This was an idea brainstormed in my story thread Blink over on Spacebattles and I figured hey, I can't sleep, the idea is there, why not throw it out there? Tell me what you all think. Oh right if you want to understand who Keiko is she's an amalgamation of her iterations from Blink/Apparently Video Games Really Are Bad for Your brain.
So no idea if this will ever go anywhere but hey, it was fun to write and I was annoyed into posting it on both sites so hey, enjoy!
As an aside, if I continued this Amelia is gonna kind of be a badass.

Keiko's first alert that something was amiss was the burglar alarm going off, then the sound of breaking glass echoed through her otherwise silent home immediately setting off her maternal instincts.
She needed to get to Amelia, NOW!
Extricating herself from her husband's arms she stumbled out of bed trying her best to pull away the sheets still tangled about them from their earlier love making. Well, that's what he would call it, she would cut out the fluff and call it incredibly satisfying anger sex but hey, either way she got off so who cared right?
Ugh, stray thoughts, slapping Marcus on the head hard enough to wake him causing him to let out a startled snort she pulled on a dressing gown, quickly tying the belt and slipping on her glasses before snatching her sword from the corner while picking up her cell phone in her free hand.
As her husband shakily awoke while summoning a bone shiv in his hand she met his groggy gaze evenly and quickly asked, "There isn't any contraband in the house is there?"
Still out of it and grasping towards full coherence Marquis blinked dumbly at Blink a few moments as he processed her question then quickly shook his head in the negative.
"My love how many times have you threatened me with castration if I left anything of questionable legality anywhere near our dear Amelia? No my dearest the house is clean."
Keiko nodded at that while hitting the dial button, a moment later the line was picked up by a bored sounding woman, "911 what is the state of your emergency."
Keiko rolled her eyes at the tone but rolled with it regardless, "This is Keiko Lavere someone is currently trying to break into our home. I'm worried they will hurt my daughter if we fight back, please send help."
Then the house shook as a horrendous crashing sound echoed from below and Amelia began screaming.
The cop on the other side of the line apparently heard it too, "What the fuck was that?"
Keiko let out a sigh while muttering, "I have no idea but I have the impression I'm about to find out."
Quickly stating her address Keiko ended the call and picked up her Glock 19, checked that it was chambered, then twirled it on her finger a moment as she tightened her grip on her long sword.
Turning around to address her husband Keiko froze a moment in surprise. She wouldn't admit it to anyone, but she was very turned on by the fact that Marquis was covered head to toe in bone plate armor with a serrated bone rapier in each hand in what amounted to a matter of seconds. Her man knew how to prepare after all. He turned his masked gaze to his petite wife's evening gown clad form, taking up blade and pistol, her determined rage glaring clearly over the bridge of her shifted glasses, then scoffed in amusement.
"Ready?" He asked, Blink didn't give him a chance to respond to her smirk as she blinked into her daughter's room just as a woman in a costume containing far too many primary colours smashed through the door. Waving her discount lightsaber about the cape met Blink's unamused visage for a moment before yelling out, "YOU!" and charged forward with a downward stroke. Side stepping the blow and extending her Tinkertech sword to deflect the strike Keiko finally registered little Amelia's terrified cry.
If she hadn't blocked Brandish's attack…it would have hit her daughter.
As far as she was concerned, the gloves were off now, she sneered while tilting her head to the side drawling out, "Hey Brandish, can you fly?"
Blink didn't give her time to respond as she dropped her weapons, teleporting behind the supposed hero and grabbing her by the shoulder, she then blinked Brandish to the lower mesosphere. Letting the bitch go Blink teleported back to her daughter's room and pulled the sobbing child into her arms as she blinked down to the family room where Marquis had already subdued the remainder of the Brockton Bay Brigade, blood staining his otherwise pristine armor.
Letting out an exasperated sigh Blink looked at the devastated room, and painfully moaning "heroes" a moment while trying to keep her little girl calm as she sobbed into her shoulder. Eventually she met her husband's gaze and let out a now very tired sigh as she muttered out, "We can probably crash at Annette's, I never burnt bridges with her and she's only a few blocks away."
Marquis…Marcus was silent for a few moments, and then nodded slowly as his armor began to fade away, "I will owe him a few favors for it but I am sure Daniel will acquiesce in giving us aid in these trying times."
With a wave of his hand all of the bone projectiles he had formed to fight the invading "heroes" off melted away leaving nothing behind, other than a vandalized home filled with badly beaten terribly dressed home invaders that is.
Exiting her home and then taking a seat in her husband's truck Keiko pulled her somewhat traumatized daughter to her chest and couldn't help letting out a tired sigh. Tonight had been a complete and utter clusterfuck, and the only thing that was going to get her through the follow up was the simple fact she had her daughter to look after.
Marcus put the truck into gear, and after pulling out into the street clicked the radio onto a classical music station.
Ah, Berlioz, nice.
It wasn't until they pulled into the Hebert's driveway that Keiko remembered that she had more or less murdered Brandish.
It said something about her mentality that she had to in essence force herself to give a shit about that, the image of the bitch's knockoff lightsaber nearly bisecting her daughter burning through her mind the entire time…
Amelia mewled, and then whimpered, burrowing further into her mother's chest in a fitful, near terrified sleep, a moment later Keiko scoffed lightly to herself.
Yeah, who was she kidding, fuck that bitch.
