Couldn't sleep, this happened, enjoy!

Oh yes the time jump was intentional, for nitpickers the Laveres were seen as the victims, the BBB really took a PR hit for their home invasion, and Amelia and Taylor are besties because of it.

There, didn't need twelve chapters to get to the fluff...is it so hard to be succinct...

Amelia Lavere stared down at the work books and scrap sheets of paper before her, pen in hand, features scrunching in consternation as she finally lost her cool and threw said pen into the air while letting out a melodramatic groan of frustration. The pen hit Taylor in the back of her head, her best friend looked up from the spiders she was playing with and shot her a bemused questioning look. Meeting Taylor's jade green gaze, barely noticing the bioengineered spiders crawled through her hair weaving silk, Amelia finally relented.

"I hate math, seriously, all of my hate."

Taylor scoffed at that, her spiders heading back to the terrarium in the corner dragging their unfinished silk sheet with them. Snatching up the pen that had hit her in the head she sat up and approached Amelia's desk and plopped down on the free chair while glancing down at her work, then grimaced while shaking her head slowly.

"Ames, seriously it's just Algebra, I'll go over your work if you go grab me a soda?" Rolling her eyes Amelia vanished in a flash of blue light, and appeared again a few moments later offering a Coke to her friend. Glancing at it Taylor gently asked, "Could you uncaffeinate it? I'd really prefer not ramping up my powers this early in the afternoon, people will notice if my critters get agitated while the sun is up."

Sighing Amelia cracked the tab on the can and stuck her finger in the soda pop, handing it to Taylor she took a sip and smiled at her friend affectionately, "Added cherry flavoring? You spoil me."

Amelia flushed brightly and glanced away while muttering, "It was nothing, seriously don't mention it. Now what the hell was I getting wrong?"

Taylor took another sip of her soda and then shot Amelia a slightly sheepish smile, "Umm...everything?"

Rather than getting angry the brunette girl flopped into her chair, dropped her head back, and let out a low groan, "I hate math... Auntie Anne is a lit professor how the heck are you so good at this?"

At that Taylor waved her off while letting out an amused laugh turning back to the math work, "Dad may be a negotiator but he took a lot of auditing courses back in college. I've watched him doing taxes, paperwork, and the like since I was brat so I picked some things up."

Amelia was quiet for a moment, then muttered, "Mom's a math nut how did I not pick up any of that? Is it not genetic or something?"

Taylor shrugged at that, "Maybe maybe not, me I want to get into programming like Auntie Keiko, can you honestly say you give a flip about anything math related?"

Amelia was quiet a moment, then muttered, "Err...no... I'm more interested in dad's side of the business."

Taylor nodded while she was jotting notes on the scrap paper before her, "What I thought, it isn't that you can't do the math, you just don't care because you know you'll never do anything with it. You think you're doomed to failure because you're not willing to give it your all, then you do fail and that justifies you not caring about the end result. Dad says that's a self fulfilling prophecy."

Amelia was silent for a few moments, then glanced at her friend while mumbling, "Do you have any idea how pretentious you just sounded there?"

Taylor's returning smirk was all the answer she needed.

Eventually Taylor handed the workbook back to Amelia, who smiled slightly then shook her head in consternation, "I appreciate the help, really, but I still don't get it. What am I supposed to do when I have my finals test?"

Taylor gave her an odd look, then raised a single brow, "Then I help you cheat, obviously. We're like our parents, we're rogues at best, villains at worst, it's what we do."

Amelia was silent for a moment, then pulled Taylor into a tight hug, "Tay, you're the best!"
