Again I don't own Atla or most of the characters in this story. Anyways enjoy!
Aang opened his eyes and looked down to see Katara. He smiled while looking at her in this state. He had woken up to her so many times before, but he still couldn't get over how beautiful she looked like this. Not that she didn't look drop dead gorgeous to him all the time. But at this moment she looked so peaceful that he didn't even want to risk doing anything that might cause her to wake up.
After a couple minutes Katara opened her eyes, and saw Aang looking at her with his loving smile. "Morning, beautiful." He said with a low voice. She blushed and leaned in to give him a quick kiss, "Morning."
They held each other for a little while and stole a couple kisses every now and then. "So, what do we have planned for today?" she asked. "Um, not much really," he replied. "So I guess we could sleep in today?" she asked while she crossed her elbows in his chest. "Your wish is my command," he joked and then stroke his hand against her cheek. She leaned her head towards his hand showing comfort in his antics.
They then stopped and stared at each other. She looked into his deep grey eyes that were filled with so much joy and love. "I love you," she said gently. "I love you too," he responded.
They leaned in to kiss each other again but before they could they heard a knock on the door. They both looked at each other and remembered that they were naked. They quickly got up and began to get dressed as fast as they could.
"Aang! Katara! Are you in there?" a voice called.
"Sokka?" Katara responded. "Can I come in?" he asked. "NO!" Aang and Katara said simultaneously.
"Jeesh! Calm down! No, but seriously a letter just arrived from the Fire Nation." Aang and Katara both looked at each other in worry for Sokka's tone in voice. "What did it say?" Aang asked as he finished putting on his clothes.
"Zuko needs us to get there immediately." Before he could continue Aang and Katara opened the door. "Azula escaped her prison and they can't find her." Sokka finally said.
"Zuko will you stop walking in circles! You're stressing me even more than I already am!" Mai exclaimed.
"Sorry, it's just how long does it take for them to get here!" Zuko responded.
"You just sent the letter like 3 days ago. It'll be impressive if it even got to the Southern Water Tribe yet," she said. He looked at her and gave himself a mental slap in the face.
"Yeah you're right." He then proceeded to sit down next to her on the bed. "It's just that, every minute she's out there she's a danger to everyone. She doesn't care about people's lives and will not hesitate to get rid of whoever comes in her way. And with her mental state, she's going to be even worse." Mai looked at him in worry and then felt something.
"Hey, you wanna be cheered up?" she asked with a smile on her face. He looked up at her and gave her a confused look. She then took his hand and placed it on her belly. He then felt as if something just pushed him. "Was that a kick?" he asked with joy in his voice.
"I guess so. I've been getting them lately, but wasn't sure if it was kicks or having something to do with the stress." He then frowned when she mentioned how stressed she had been lately. "Mai, I'm so sorry. I should be trying to make you feel safe and instead I'm worrying you. This isn't good for you or the baby."
"Zuko, it's okay. It's not your fault that Azula escaped, and you're doing everything you can to bring her back." She cupped his cheek and then leaned in to kiss him. They shared a passionate kiss and it reminded Zuko that things would work out in the end.
After learning about Azula's escape Aang, Sokka, and Katara decided it would be best for all of them to go to help for Azula. They then planned to go pack and meet up in front of the village to go off on Appa.
"Alright I think that's pretty much it," Toph said while knotting her bag shut.
"Nope you forgot one thing," Sokka said with a grin on his face. He then came close to her and put his arms around her waist.
"Oh yeah and what's that, Captain Boomerang?" she asked sarcastically. He then closed the space between with a passionate kiss.
They broke the kiss and placed each other's foreheads against one another. "That," he told her quietly. "Man, how could I have forgotten that?" she said sarcastically. They laughed together and proceeded to walk towards the door with their bags in hand.
"They're taking their sweet ass time aren't they?" Aang asked with an annoyed tone.
"Oh whatever we should maybe take advantage of being alone right now cause once we get on Appa that will be hard to come by," she said as she got closer to him. His frown turned into a small smile when she got close to him. It always managed to make him feel better having her with him. And he wouldn't want it any other way.
"You're right," he said with a smile and bent his head down to kiss her. They stayed there for a good moment and Katara even let out a small moan but they were broken up once Sokka and Toph got there.
"Can you two lovebirds quit smushing each other long enough for us to take off?" Toph teased. Katara filled her eyes and then grabbed Aang's hand as they got on Appa. Toph and Sokka sat on the saddle while Aang and Katara sat on Appa's head.
"Appa, yip yip!" Aang told the flying bison and soon after they were back in the sky again.
