Okay I just need you all to know that I cried writing this. So just.. be prepared. Again I don't own ATLA or most of the characters in this story. Enjoy!

Aang ran outside to where he heard the loud bang. When he got there he saw Katara and Mai fighting Azula. Soon after the rest of the group came outside. They were all ready to fight Azula.

Zuko got in front of Mai to try and protect her. Azula then caught a glimpse of Mai's pregnant belly. "Awe I'm going to be an auntie? Why did no one tell me? Man I swear this family just gets worse and worse!" she said with a wicked smile on her face.

Katara got water from a nearby fountain and shot it towards Azula. Azula then ducked and shot fire towards Katara. Katara barely dodged that but some of her dress caught fire. "Back off of her!" Aang then came in and with his glider threw air at Azula. She fell back and Aang was about to use his earthbending to pin her down to the floor.

But before he could do anything else he was then hit in the chest by an icicle. Aang fell to the ground unconscious and began to bleed. "AANG!" Katara yelled out and ran towards him.

They all looked towards the roof and saw a man. Chang jumped from the roof and used water from a fountain to land.

Azula then got up and was about to shoot fire at Toph when out of a sudden, her shoulder was hit by a knife. Azula turned around to find that it was Mai who hit her. "Oh you're gonna regret that!" Azula announced. She then created lighting, and before she even had time to get out the way shot it towards Mai.

Mai fell to the ground and struggled to find her breath. As Zuko saw the woman he loved fall to her death he turned around and shot as much fire as he could towards Azula and made her fall back.

Katara held Aang tight. "Aang please wake up! Come on Aang! Please, stay with me!" she pleaded with many tears coming down her face. She saw Aang open his eyes and smile at her. She then smiled back and hugged him tighter than she ever had before but she was then pushed back by a wave of water.

As she struggled to get up she saw Aang being taken away by the man who hurt him. Sokka, Toph and Zuko tried to take down Azula but she suddenly created a distraction with a big fire and got away.

Katara tried as hardest as she could but failed to get up from the ground. When the rest figured out that Aang wasn't there anymore Sokka and Toph ran towards Katara. "Where's Aang?" Sokka asked his sister. She looked up at Sokka and tried to speak but then fell unconscious.

Zuko ran towards Mai. "Mai! Mai! Come on! Come on! No please no!" he yelled as tears fell from his eyes. He held her and when he took out his hand from under her, it was filled with blood. He put his hand on her cheek and pleaded, "Mai please stay with me. You're all I have. Please don't leave me!" He pleaded. But when he didn't get a response he simply held her tight. And he didn't want to let go. Not yet, not ever.

"AANG!" Katara yelled out as she woke up. She looked over and Aang wasn't in bed next to her. It wasn't just a nightmare. He was actually missing. She didn't even know what day it was.

She got out of bed and walked through the hallways of the palace. "Sokka! Toph! Zuko! Mai!" Katara yelled out for her friends but didn't get any response. She got to Sokka and Toph's room and opened the door. "Katara! You're finally awake!" Sokka exclaimed.

Sokka and Toph both went up to Katara to give her a hug. "What happened, Sokka? How long was I out? And where the hell is Aang?!" Katara let out. Sokka put his hands on her shoulders, "Easy, calm down. Look you were out for about 5 days. And... we don't know where Aang is, he was taken away by that guy that was with Azula. We have people searching for him but nothing yet." He told her slowly with sadness in his eyes.

Katara started to hyperventilate. "Wha- what- what do you- what do you mean you don't know- where aang is?" She said as tears began to fall from her eyes. "Sokka please! Where is he?! I need him! Please!" she let out with crying filling her voice and she crawled up into a ball on the ground. Sokka bent down in front of her and hugged her tight. Toph then also came in to hug her. They all let out a few tears. "It's going to be okay, trust me," Sokka said and then placed a kiss on Katara's head.

"There's something else," Toph finally spoke. "What else could there possibly be," Katara said with tears still filling her words. "It's Mai." Katara then looked back at Toph. "She was hit by Azula's lighting. She died, and with her so did the baby." Katara let out more tears for her friend and then placed her hand over her mouth.

"Oh my god. Mai," Katara looked down and mourned for her dear friend and the baby she carried. "And oh my god, Zuko!" she said. "How's he holding up?" Katara asked.

"He hasn't left his room in days. He doesn't want to talk to anyone and we're trying to respect that for right now," Sokka answered.

Katara felt bad for her dear friend. She then began to think back to Aang again. She couldn't handle not having him right there, holding her close, feeling his presence.

"Guys I hope you don't mind, but I'm going back to my room. I need to be alone right now." Katara said and walked out Toph and Sokka's room.

She walked through the palace barely being able to hold herself together. Tears kept falling from her eyes. She got back to her bedroom but before she could lay in bed again, something caught her eye.

She looked under the bed and found a necklace, but not just any necklace it was a watertribe betrothal necklace. It was exactly like the one that belonged to her mother, except it had an air nomad symbol carved in the stone.

Katara gasped and put her hand over her mouth upon realizing what that necklace meant. He was going to propose to me. That's why he was asking me about babies and marriage. He was hurt because he was planning on asking me to spend the rest of my life with him. And now.. he's not even here. And I can't tell him how sorry I am for not telling the truth about wanting to marry him. She taught to herself and more tears came from her eyes.

She grabbed the pillow that he laid on last night to see if she could smell him. And when she could she began to sob on the pillow and held it tight.
