The group came out of the dark forest and found Janan waiting at the border between the two sides. They ran towards the light spirit.
"I see you've returned, thank goodness. So do you have it?" she asked with a delighted tone. Katara took out the Arca Linghun from her satchel. "Great! Now we must head back to return the artifacts you used."
The friends and the light spirit got back to the giant tree they had visited previously. They all placed the weapons and artifacts back. The spirit also made sure to put Seishin Keimusho containing Seth back in its place.
"So Janan, how exactly do we get Aang back now that we have his soul?" Katara asked with anticipation. Janan came closer and placed had a mystical compass on top of the box that the waterbender was holding.
It suddenly began to glow right on top of Katara's hands. As the glowing dimmed down, the hair loops girl looked at the box in an awe. "What just happened?" Sokka asked the spirit.
"Some other light spirits and I came together to create this compass. It is now connected to the Arca Linghun, and once you get back to the Physical World it will point you in direction to the Avatar's body. Once you find it you simply open the box in front of it and his soul and spirit will do the rest." Katara looked up with much hope in her eyes, just thinking about seeing him again after so long.
The spirit however began to frown in concern, "I must warn you however." To which Katara's face suddenly changed to worry. "Even though the Avatar is still technically alive, his body has been through much to keep it that way. And the toll that putting his soul back into his body will have on him, will be severe. It might cause him to remain unconscious for some time in order to regain his energy. I suggest that you have as many healers as you can have to help him through it."
Katara had a long face but managed to nod slightly to the spirit's words. "Well then I guess it's now time for you to return to the physical world. Just follow the path that you took when you first arrived. When you get to where you met me, you should find a pond that resembles the one you used to get here. Walk into it and you should be because there in a matter of seconds."
"Thank you Janan." The waterbender said with much gratitude. "You don't have to thank me, I was just merely doing my duty. But also I didn't do anything, you all were the real heroes here." The group of friends bowed respectfully and began their way back home.
Toph was sitting on the ground throwing small pebbles into the water that surrounded the oasis. She suddenly heard a bubbly noise along with screaming coming from the pond.
Katara, Sokka, Zuko, and Suki suddenly appeared in the water. The blind earthbender stood up and ran towards them, "You're back!"
She hugged everyone and then got to Sokka. She kissed him passionately and put her arms around his neck. The warrior broke from the kiss and smiled at her, "See? I told you I would be back." She punched him in the shoulder to which he complained and then they embraced.
"So did you guys do it? Where's Aang?" Katara took out the box from her bag and displayed it to the earthbender. "Right here." To which Toph frowned to in annoyance and began to wave her hand in front of her pale eyes.
"Oh yeah, sorry. Um, well his soul is in this box and it's connected to a compass that should lead us to-" She then stopped talking when the arrow began to move around. "Oh my god! It's moving! The arrow! It's pointing somewhere!" Katara exclaimed in excitement.
"Well, where is it pointing to?" The Kyoshi warrior asked. Katara observed the compass once again to determine the direction, "Southwest, it's pointing southwest! Okay let's go get Liang and follow it." She then began to run out of the Oasis.
"Not so fast, Katara." The hair loops girl stopped and turned to face her brother. "We're all really tired, I mean we just defeated dozens of evil spirits and their grand master, we need some rest."
Toph's eyes widened to his words, "Woah! You did what? That's sounds awesome! Dang it! I wish I could've gone."
Suki then stepped in, "Yeah and I also want to take a bath. We smell like spirit dust." She said with a disgusted face.
The waterbender frowned in annoyance, "Fine, we'll stay tonight and rest. But we're out of here first thing in the morning."
It was late at night and Katara was putting Liang to sleep. She placed her down in her bassinet and covered her with her favorite blanket. Katara stroked the baby's cheek softly and smiled at her daughter's small sneeze.
The waterbender then went into her satchel and took out the Arca Linghun. She held it tightly to her chest and placed it on her nightstand, so that it would feel like he was close by.
