Ok I'm glad that you guys don't hate the fact that I'm having Kataang take some time. I'm now trying to sort out how I'm going to put my ideas for the story in place and it's taking me a little, so I apologize for that. Also I've been caught up with school work and stuff, so that's why I took a little to post this chapter. Another thing, I know you guys probably don't care, but I was Aang for Halloween :D

Anyways, enjoy! :)

...

4 weeks later

Throughout this time, Aang and Katara have had time away from each other. The times they did talk was when it involved Liang and small conversations at dinner. Aang has had multiple healing sessions with healers from the North Pole and has progressed to the point where he can walk normally now. However, his body still requires much more healing. Toph and Sokka left the Fire Nation to travel to Yu Dao and the Southern Water Tribe and told the group that they would return in about a month or two. Two days ago, Zuko, accompanied by Suki and some Kyoshi Warriors, left to attend a meeting in Ba Sing Se with the Earth King and other world leaders.

Katara entered her bedroom door and was surprised by who she found. "Aang," she called with content. "What are you doing here so late?"

He looked up at her while holding baby Liang in his arms. "Oh hey! Um well I came over to spend some time with Liang." He continued to look at her with an awkward smile.

"Well don't let me stop you, just pretend I'm not here." Katara said and proceeded to open her closet door to change into her sleeping attires.

Aang stood there for a little bit holding Liang and finally spoke, "So I noticed she has this blanket. And it has an air nomad insignia sowed onto it. I tried to take it from her to get a better look at it, and she began to cry... a lot."

While still in the closet changing she responded, "Oh yeah, I made her that blanket to kind of have something of you. But then it backfired cause now she can't sleep without it, and trust me you don't want to try."

The airbender laughed at her response and continued to rock Liang in his arms. "Also I wanted to ask, do you take her out a lot?"

Katara finally exited her closet, now in her dark blue silk nightgown and matching robe. "Um, actually no. I just walk her around the palace sometimes but nothing more. The only time she's actually left this building is when we went on your rescue mission to the North Pole."

"Oh," he responded with a frown remembering all they had to do in order for him to come back. "Why do you ask?" she asked while going over to her vanity and undoing her hair loops.

"Well, I kind of wanted to take her out tomorrow." Aang replied in a shy voice hoping she would agree. "You want to take her out?" Katara asked while brushing through her long chocolate colored hair.

"Yeah, we could go riding on Appa together, maybe have a small picnic, and I could show her some of my airbending tricks." He replied with a big smile covering his face. "Okay, yeah sure."

Katara laid on her bed sound asleep until there was a knock on the door. She opened an eye around the third knock and groaned in annoyance. She covered her ears with a pillow but the knocking on the door continued. "Ugh! Coming!"

As she got up to open the door they continued to knock, "I said I'm coming!" She opened the door and found Aang about to knock again.

"What do you want?" she asked in an annoyed and drowsy voice. "Oops, did I wake you?" He asked to which she just stared at him with half opened and puffy eyes. "Sorry, um... I just came to pick her up for our day together."

She began to look out the window and saw that there was hardly any light out, "Aang, what time is it?"

"Um, six in the morning? I think?" Katara's eyes widened in irritation. "Six in the morning! Why are you picking her up this early?"

"Well I kind of wanted to have breakfast with her, since I've never done that before. I also woke up early and didn't see why I couldn't come pick her up. So... can I come in?"

"Ugh, you're worse that Liang. Just come and get her, she's also already up." The waterbender responded while opening the door more.

Katara walked back to her bed while Aang walked towards Liang's crib. "You're going back to sleep?"

"Do I have to repeat the six in the morning part to you?!" She yelled back in annoyance and Aang began to giggle.

"What is so funny?" She shot back. "Nothing, it's just that I forgot how cranky you get when you don't get your sleep."

"I am not cranky!" Katara defended but then realized how cranky she did sound while saying it. The airbender gave her a mocking smile to which she rolled her eyes and went back to bed.

Katara then opened an eye and sat on her bed, "Wait, how long are you taking her for again?" He turned back to face her with the baby now in his arms. "Um, the whole day basically."

"Okay, bring her to me." She said while extending her arms to grab her daughter. Aang brought the baby to her and Katara gave her a soft kiss on her forehead. "Okay Penguin, have fun."

She gave the baby back to him but before placing her head on her pillow she swung up again. "Oh right, um I have her wrap on the chair over there." He raised an eyebrow at her statement, "A what now?"

"A wrap. It's this cloth that you use to wrap the baby around you. You're gonna need it since you're gonna be gone so long." He turned to the chair and grabbed the cloth.

The airbender then proceeded to wrap his baby around him. It took a minute but he figured it out. Once he was done he turned and saw that Katara had already gone back to sleep.

Aang gave a soft smile at her sight. "Gah," Liang cried while expanding her arm at her sleeping mom. "I know, she looks so beautiful when she's sleeping. But then again when doesn't she look drop dead gorgeous."

After breakfast, Aang walked into the stables of the Fire Nation Palace with Liang wrapped around him. "Hey, buddy! Ready to go flying?" He talked to his bison while placing a hand on his head.

Appa groaned and licked him and Liang. Aang looked down at his giggling daughter, "You know, that means he likes you."

He got Appa out of the stables and after settling down on his head, they were now in the sky. After two hours of flying, the Avatar got his flying bison to land on an open land near a lake.

The airbender got blankets, his glider, and a basket with food out of Appa's saddle. He set everything up on the grass a couple of feet from the body of water.

He fed his baby some banana puree but when he tried to feed her papaya puree she spit it out. He laughed at how she got that from her mom.

"Alright Liang, I am about to show you some neat bending moves." He began to bend water out of the lake and swirled it around her which made her begin to giggle.

Then he bent the water to do a whip, "That right there was the Water Whip. I don't know if you know this, but your mom was my waterbending master. When she first started teaching me, however, she was still kind of learning herself. She actually stole a scroll with waterbending forms from pirates!"

Liang made a small baby noise, "I know! She's amazing like that. Anyways, she had some trouble learning the moves at first, specially the Water Whip. And she got mad at me for getting them so easily, it was kind of funny looking back now. But she then surpassed me and grew on to become the best waterbender I've ever seen." He said with a soft smile.

"Alright let's move on to earthbending," the Avatar said while hitting the ground with his left foot and kicking the rock that came out. "That's a pretty basic move but it still took me some time to learn at first. Earth was the element that came the hardest for me, and it didn't really help having your Aunt Toph as a teacher. I mean she's great and all, but man did she torture me as her student." He said with an awkward smile.

"Okay, now fire." Aang then made his hand into a fist and swung it until fire blasted out. "I have to admit that fire is my least favorite element. When I first began to learn firebening... I burnt your mom. She was able to heal herself, thankfully, but I still carry a burden from knowing I hurt her like that. However, later on I learned that fire is more than just destruction, it's life."

The airbender then reached into his pocket, "Alright, Liang, this is my favorite trick. So if I don't impress you with this, I don't know how." He took out a marble and made it spin in midair between his hands while smiling widely.

Baby Liang then began to giggle at his trick. "See, I knew you would love it. But I think I have something even more exciting that we can do."

Aang wrapped her around him again and they began to climb up a small hill. He took his glider with him and when they reached the top of the hill he opened it and began to glide with Liang wrapped around him.

He kept looking down to make sure she was enjoying it and smiled to see her laughing. They continued to fly around for about half an hour. When they landed back it was now late in the afternoon.

Aang began to pack all of the blankets and now empty baskets back on Appa's saddle.

3 hours later

The bedroom door was opened by Aang with Liang on his arms. "Finally! You really weren't kidding when you said all day." Katara said while running up to get Liang.

"Hi Baby, did you miss mommy?" She asked in a baby voice to the little girl in her arms. "So, what did you guys do today?"

"Well, first we got some breakfast, we rode on Appa till we got to an area near The Black Cliffs, we had a small picnic, I showed her some bending tricks, told her some stories, we flew on my glider,"

Katara's eyes then opened widely. "-And then we just-"

"You did what?" she asked in a firm voice. "We glide-" Aang suddenly realized what he just said. "Um, I mean, we gl- glared... at... birds."

Katara gave him a dirty look. "YOU TOOK OUR SIX MONTH OLD BABY FLYING ON YOUR GLIDER?! While you're still not even fully recovered yet?!"

Aang scratched his neck with his arm in embarrassment, "Um-"

"Aang, ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?!" she screamed and then got quiet when Liang began to cry.

"I'm sorry. But if you would've seen how happy she was when we were in the sky you wouldn't be so mad." He admitted while looking down.

She continued to stare at him in a scowl. "Again I'm sorry, Katara. I give you an Avatar promise that I won't fly her on my glider again until she can walk." He said while pointing to the arrow on his head.

"Fine, you're forgiven. But you better keep that promise." Katara threatened while pointing her finger at him.
