Chapter 22 The Truth

Kludd's POV

I flew into Nes' hollow.

"Hey", she greeted. "Did you tell him?"

"I was going to", I revealed. "But something happened."

"What happened", Nes asked.

And with that...I smiled.

"Sora's eggs hatched!"

"They did", Nes asked happily. "Are they boys are girls?"

"All girls", I revealed. "Their names are Blythe, Bell and Sebastiana. She's been nicknamed Bash."

"The three B's", Nes said before sighing sadly. "So what do we do now?"

"The right thing."

That Night

Nes and I stood in front of King Boron.

"So", he started. "You were sent here by Nyra to get your wing fixed?"

"Yes", I replied. "Afterwards I was supposed to go back." [Forever Brothers Extra: Read Chapter 9 to see when this happened.]

"Then why haven't you", King Boron asked.

"Because I no longer wish to be a Pure One", I revealed.

"And why is that", King Boron asked.

"It's because of Soren", I revealed. "And my parents. And my sister. And Willow! And Nes. They all forgave me after I did terrible things. Made me realize that this is the side I should be fighting for."

"And what about you Nes", King Boron asked said person. "Or should I say Vanessa?"

"No", Nes replied. "Vanessa is the person my mother wanted me to be. But here, I get to be 'Nes', the person I want to be."

"I see", King Boron said. "Guards! Escort Kludd and Vanessa to a cell while I discuss with the guardians what to do with them."

"King Boron", I started. "I have a request. Can you please not tell Soren what has happened. He just became a father and I don't want to ruin that for him."

"Very well", King Boron said. "I won't tell Soren."

One Hour Later

Nes and I were in a cell.

"Kludd", she started. "What are they gonna do to us?"

"I don't know", I replied. "But...we did the right thing."

"Yeah", Nes started. "And look on the bright side. At least we're together."

"Yeah", I said before I put my wing around Nes. "I would much rather be trapped here with you than out there without you."

"I feel the same way", Nes stated. "I love you Kludd." [Forever Brothers Extra: She said it!]

"I love you too Nes." [Forever Brothers Extra: And he said it back!]

Before anything else could happen...the door to our cell opened...and King Boron appeared!

"The guardians and I have discussed what to do with you", he revealed. "And we have decided to give you two a second chance, if you'll do something for us in return.

"What is it", I asked.

"Well", King Boron started. "Since you too are so good at being double agents, maybe you can do it for us."

"What do you mean", Nes asked.

"We want you to go back to the Pure Ones and find out what Nyra is doing."

When King Boron said this...Nes' chest started heaving.

"Nes", I said in concern as I flew up to her. "Are you okay?"

"I...I don't want to go back there", she breathed out. "If she finds out what's that I betrayed her, she'll...she'll..."

"King Boron", I started. "Please get Olivia! She'll know what to do!"

Five Minutes Later

Olivia flew into the cell.

"Nes", she started. "It's okay. Your mom isn't here. You're safe."

With that Nes calmed down.

"What happened", King Boron asked.

"She had an anxiety attack", Olivia revealed before looking at Nes. "Are you okay? What triggered it?"

"King Boron wanted her to go back to her mother", Kludd revealed. "Nyra."

This shocked Olivia.

"Nyra is your mother", she asked Nes.

"My real name is Vanessa", Nes revealed. "Nes is a nickname Kludd gave me. When you asked me what my name was, I panicked and said that instead." [Forever Brothers Extra: Read Chapter 10 to see this.]

With this...Olivia smiled.

"Well", she started. "I like 'Nes' better."

With this...Nes smiled.

"Yeah", she said. "I like 'Nes' better to. Because Vanessa isn't the real me. Nes is."

This made Olivia smile.

She then looked at King Boron.

"Please don't let Nes go to Nyra", she pleaded. "It could cause her anxiety to flare up."

Then...Nes said something that shocked us.

"No. I'll go."
