Inuyasha: Existence!
Chapter 4: To the village.
After time had passed, Obsidian basically pleaded Sesshomaru to have her tag along. The batman stated that he needed to go elsewhere as an errand and so there they were, Y/N, Sesshomaru, and the two others were walking towards the village. The errand Obsidian had to go do...involved his pet bat. It got sick and he went to go try and find something to make it feel better.
Y/N was walking behind the group where Sesshi was ahead of them, Rin and Jaken who got introduced before they took off to the village, were ahead of her but behind the lordship. Right now Y/N was listening to her music as she stared up at the passing trees, pondering whether she was really dreaming or not.
Any dream could be vivid and wild like this, to the point that even physically touching someone in your dream can feel real. Something caught her attention and made her take an earbud out, it was Rin. "Hey L/N?" the child questioned with an innocent smile.
Y/N's heart dramatically throbbed and in her mind, an animation of her clenching her chest over her cuteness, appeared. That smile, why must she be so adorable?! I'm dying! Silly tears streamed down her flat-lined eyes in her head. "Yeah?" On the outside, she seemed fine but on the inside, she was gushing so hard...it was no wonder why Sesshi took her in!
"What are those...string things in your ears?" Cutely blinking and mouth agape, Rin walked quietly and waited for a reply.
Jaken would usually make a displeased comment about anyone, especially a human but for some reason... He found himself just as curious so he chose to stay quiet and listen in. He looked over his shoulder at her, hoping to not be found out that he was eavesdropping. "Um...well, it's hard to explain," Y/N began with her eyes averted and nervous sweat rolling down her face.
"Try me, I want to know!" Cheerfully, Rin exclaimed and turned around, now walking backward with her smile present and arms clasped behind her. Sesshomaru's pointed ears twitched slightly, but not once had he peeked over his shoulder at her; it was obvious he was listening in too.
"Eheheh, let's just say... It's so you can listen to sounds coming from this device," Y/N explained as she lifted up her phone out of her pocket, which the headset was hooked to. "You can talk to friends, family, play short games, read, write stories, listen to music and much more. Want an example? It's completely harmless!~" Laughing near the end with closed eyes, she watched Rin giggle and raise a hand into the air.
"Yes, hehehe!" As gleeful as she could be, the little girl cheered and excitedly waited for Y/N to give an example. Sesshomaru's one eye was looking in his peripherals, staring at her from behind now. Jaken had a risen brow and pondered what in the world could be so great from such a small device.
Smiling mischievously, Y/N giggled madly to herself and the scene only showed her cheshire-cat grin. Beforehand she had thought for a moment on what song she could play that would be kid-friendly; quickly she leaned over to whisper towards Rin, with a wink after recalling a good one.
"Oh, I have the perfect example...and it'll be funny," Just watching little Rin smile real big, giggle and turn back around so to not trip, Y/N sneakily walked closer behind Sessho and slowly lifted her phone up near his ear, after picking the song out. The moment she clicked play and her headset got unplugged from the jack, Sessho froze in his step with wide eyes.
(Play: Who let the dogs out by Bahamen! XD) "Hahaha!" Y/N laughed and started dancing, poking her elbow in the lordship's ribs every now and then. She sang along to the song as everyone stopped and watched. Of course, Sessho didn't really expect such a song to play, especially one that was talking about...dogs...in particular; men and dogs both, she didn't really know what the song meant though. Doing a playful dance, sticking her tongue out to playfully mock the lordship and to anger Jaken. Rin was just laughing her adorable laugh and clapped her hands, jumping like a little jumping bean.
The entire time, Sessho's eyes followed her movement with a careless expression after his shock had disappeared. He never thought someone like her...of all people, could actually surprise him so much to the point of freezing in place. During the part where the men howled, she howled too and pointed at Sessho. After a while when the song ended, Y/N had a peace sign in the air and was in a giggle fit. "Are you done...?" Sesshomaru questioned and narrowed his eyes.
"How dare you disrespect my lord Sesshomaru, you filthy huma-" Before he got to finish, Y/N went over, patted him on the head and leaned over with her hand on her hip.
"Now now. Remember mister goblin, I'm half human.~" With a wink, she teased. Rin was giggling up a storm, she told her that she really loved the song and wanted to know what else that thing could do. "Sorry, only once a day! You guys will have to get used to it. Can't have you guys dying of shock you know. A person can only take so much during the day, they need to have time to take things in.~" Y/N was in a great mood right now.
Feeling the fresh air through her lungs, wandering through the woods down a path on foreign dirt, and confidence stirring inside from succeeding in teasing Sessho. She skipped ahead, leaving Jaken in a furious mess, a little girl who appeared confused and a...bothered Sesshomaru.
~Time le skip! Brought to you by Sesshomaru, wearing a beware of dog sign around his neck! Woof.~
Finally, they reached the village, only to find it...stranded. They all gawked at the comical yet, random tumbleweed that just so happened to appear bouncing across the entrance to the place. Well, of course, the lordship didn't expose any facial expressions...but hey. Quietly Y/N sang a tune from an old western series, whistling it like how it was played. It was the theme when two cowboys were facing and eyeing each other during a quick draw match. ( Play: The good, the bad, and the ugly- Theme! Surprisingly, I've actually heard themes like that play during deserted places, so XD!)
Everyone just looked over at her with puzzlement, again..aside from Sessho. Slowly she looked over at them all and eventually trailed off with her little tune with a straight face, then stopped. "What? Looked like it was fitting," said the girl with a smile. The lordship himself closed his eyes and looked forward, ignoring her goofiness and continuing into the village. It was so dead... No signs of people outside at all and all houses looked like centuries of aging, had burdened them. Roofs were caved in, dust flew through the air, a few houses with doors and windows were still intact, while some houses looked as if a twister came upon it.
The village looked run down, terribly uncared for... "Uh..." Y/N gawked at the sight, she thought the dream would've ended the moment she came across the town. I...I can't be... No way... This can't be real. I can't be in an anime, a different world! I can't be, that's impossible! It goes beyond logic and understanding! Time travel?! Wait... Does that mean, after all this time... she trailed off in her head with widened eyes and mouth agape, examining everything around her. Anime has a world of their own, a dimension that's created during the second the anime is made by the creator?! she mentally exclaimed in question and gasped.
Of all things, she chose to mention that instead of the fact, that she just acted like a total goofball in front of one of her favorite characters... Falling to her knees, forgetting about her little group for a second, she rose her fists and head up to the sky screaming, "Thank you, LOOORD!". Comical tears streamed down her cheeks, it was as if her dream had come true. After she stood back up, the thought came to mind about how she could hang around Sessho all she wanted and that only made her flustered. Just thinking about the alone time when the children went to bed... Her entire body turned so red as if she got sunburnt and she got tipsy, a swirling animation in her eyes all the while.
Aside from her outburst and the weird looks Jaken gave her, Sessho ignored her as he wandered into one of the standing empty homes. No one's here. His mental thoughts echoed after opening the door. The door itself had squeaked when it opened slowly, revealing a bare, dusty house.
"My lord, are we perhaps staying here for the day?" Jaken questioned whilst running to his side, clenching tighter on to his staff for dear life. He received no word from the man, only silence. He watched as his lordship went and sat down against the wall, with his fluffy white tail still draped over his shoulder.
"Of course we are, silly! Look at how low the sun is!" Rin pointed her finger up at the sky after she opened it, revealing the setting sun and its orange glow. Y/N ran over to the window and hummed in thought, blinking all the while.
Y/N had recovered after a bit and joined in, walking up to Rin from behind. "Wow, never knew we were out walking THAT long. How long was it, exactly? Obsidian didn't really say how far the nearest village was..." she asked and watched the sun lower further and further below the horizon. Jaken just sat down near the doorway grumbling to himself with folded arms, he was starting to not like Y/N at all. Well, when did he ever like anyone, aside from his idol-sempai...?
"An hour... If you were smart enough, you would understand how to tell time by reading the sun! It is past seven o'clock!" Jaken huffed, mumbled something inaudible and looked away, still in his grumbling mess. Meaning, it was around six o'clock after she fought off that beast.
"Why's it a ghost town then...?" No one knew how to answer Y/N's question, so she just left it be. It was getting late, cold and she so badly wanted to get warm. She peered over to Sesshomaru who's tail was now on the floor and frowned; staring at its...soft, fluffy, cozy... Warm looking...- "Ah screw it, we only live once," she shrugged, trotted on over to Sesshi and sat on his tail. His eyes widened slightly, peeked over at her and soon growled beneath his breath. "Take it like a man, I'm cold," She added and snuggled up to his side in a curled up position, then wrapped his tail around her.
Rin saw that and laughed, she too came over and snuggled into the soft fur with her. Sesshomaru's eye was actually starting to twitch now... He was always known to be the calm, cool and collected quiet type; but for some odd reason, she was able to unnerve him, just a tiny bit. "Night, night!" With an arm raised slightly and dropping back down, Jaken had a dropped jaw.
I cannot believe she would stoop so low, as to insult his greatness in such a manner!" he was flabbergasted, so stunned with shock that he couldn't even speak his mind! The audacity! He couldn't say or do anything, seeing that his master wasn't refusing their company...well just hers. He just gave up and decided to hit the hay early, since they too, were snuggled up for bedtime.
Only thing is, after they fell asleep, Y/N was the only one wide awake. Her beautiful alien e/c eyes stared upon Sesshomaru's strong, handsome face and took in all the details. She was still up against his arm, but slowly worked her way onto his ribs and not once averted her gaze. He felt the shift in weight and peered down at her, making her pause in the process with fear. Shit... He probably thinks I'm gonna do something now! mentally panicking, Y/N was about to inch back into her cuddling spot when she saw him stare into her inhuman eyes.
His own had widened by just a fraction, seeing the foreign beauty he had never laid his eyes upon before. Eventually, she fell asleep staring at his golden ones; he was just too mesmerized to break his gaze from her... Until ten or so minutes later. Such odd eyes... he said in his mind before closing his own.
