Chapter 24 King and Queen

Kludd's POV

Two Days Later

Nes and I had made it to the Pure Ones base.

I could tell that she was nervous.

"It's not too late to turn back", I stated.

"It is."

Before I could say anything else...we arrived at the throne Nyra was sitting on.

We flew below it and bowed down.

"You're back", she said in surprise. "I didn't think you were still alive."

Nyra then flew down besides me.

"Show me your wing", she commanded. "The one that was broken."

With that I showed her said wing.

"A prosthetic", Nyra said in surprise. "Do you still fly as well as you did?"

With that...I smirked.

"You tell me."

With that...I flew high into the air and did some tricks.

I then landed right behind someone...and kicked them in the back knocking them out!

I felt guilty, but if I didn't prove myself to Nyra she would probably kick me out of the Pure Ones. And there was no way I was going to leave her alone with Nes.

I flew up to Nyra.

"What do you think my queen", I asked.

"Very impressive", Nyra replied before flying up to me. "As soon as I saw you, I knew you were destined for great things. I think...you are ready for this."

With that Nyra held out something...and I couldn't believe my eyes.

It was...Metal Beak's mask.

"Kludd", Nyra started. "I have chosen you to be my husband's successor."

I couldn't believe my ears. Me? As Metal Beak's successor?

"Me", I asked in shock. "Are you sure my queen?"

"Ah ah", Nyra said. "First rule of being a ruler. Never second guess your decisions. And one more thing. You...have to mate with my daughter."

"I do", I asked in shock.

"Yes", Nyra replied. "She is to be queen after all."

With that I turned to face Nes...and smiled.

We were planning on mating anyway, so this was actually perfect.

"I would be honoured to be your mate Ne...Vanessa."

"Me too."

The Next Night

Nes and I were standing in front of everybody.

"Do you, Kludd, take my daughter to be your mate for life", Nyra asked.

"I do."

"And do you, my daughter, take Kludd to be your mate for life?"

"I do."

"Then, by the power invested in me, I now pronounce you two mates for life! And when I die, you two will become king and queen of the Pure Ones.

Hearing that gave me an idea. An idea to take down the Pure Ones.
