We're going to find out what Kludd's plan to take down the Pure Ones is in this chapter.

Chapter 25 Overthrow

Kludd's POV

The Next Morning

Nes and I were resting in our nest.

"Nes", I started. "I have an idea to take down your mother."

"What is it", Nes asked.

"It's simple", I stated. "We are now your mother's successors. If we dethrone her, then we become the king and queen, and the Pure Ones will listen to us."

"Are you sure that the Pure Ones will turn to our side that easily", Nes asked.

"The Pure Ones have been brainwashed to listen to their leader", Kludd pointed out. "If we become their leaders they should follow us."

"But how are we going to overthrow my mother", Nes asked.

"We're gonna need help", I replied.

"The guardians", Nes suggested. "Are you sure that they will help us?"

"There's only one way to find out", I stated. "Let's get out of here."

Two Days Later

Nes and I had returned to the Great Tree.

We landed in front of King Boron and bowed our heads.

"That was fast", he stated. "What news do you have?"

"Nes and I have mated and are now successors to her and Metal Beak", I revealed.

"What", King Boron asked in shock.

"It's true", Nes replied. "And Kludd believes that we can use it to our advantage."

"How?"

One Hour Later

We were in the Guardian's meeting room and we had just finished telling them our plan.

"You want to try and overthrow Nyra", King Boron asked in shock.

"Yes", Nes replied. "We believe that without a leader, the Pure Ones will become loyal to Kludd and I."

"I see", King Boron said. "And what do you plan to do with the Pure Ones if you take control of them?"

"We will tell them that they are free", Nes revealed. "Free of my mother's reign."

"And how can we be so sure that you're not just going to try and take over the tree afterwards", King Boron asked.

"King Boron", I started. "You have every right not to trust Nes and I, but please. I beg you. If you do not go along with this plan, then at least come up with your own. Nobody will truly be safe until Nyra is taken down."

"I understand", King Boron stated. "Kludd, Nes, please leave. We must discuss your proposal."

Soren's POV

I watched as Kludd and Nes left.

"King Boron", I started. "I think..."

"Soren", King Boron said interrupting me. "I don't think you should be part of this discussion."

"What", I asked in shock. "Why?"

"As Kludd's brother it's best that you are not a part of the decision making", King Boron replied. "You'll let your emotions cloud your judgement."

"But..."

"Soren", King Boron said interrupting me. "Please leave."

With that...I sighed sadly.

"Yes your majesty", I said before flying out of the room.

I saw Kludd and Nes and flew up to them.

"Kludd", I said. "Nes."

"Soren", Kludd said in shock. "What are you doing out here?"

"King Boron won't let me be a part of the discussion", I revealed. "They say that as Kludd's brother, I will let my emotions cloud my judgement."

"That's fair", Kludd stated.

"I have to ask", I started changing the subject. "What are you guys going to do if King Boron rejects your proposal?"

"I don't know", Kludd replied. "But we have to do something. Otherwise it's only a matter of time before Nyra shows up."

King Boron's POV

I was talking with the rest of the guardians.

"I just can't tell if we can truly trust them are not", I said.

"They did come and admit that they were sent here under Nyra's orders", Barren pointed out. "I just can't see a reason for them doing that unless they truly did want to repent."

"True", I stated. "But what if Nyra had somehow convinced them to come back to her side?"

"True", Barren agreed.

"It's just too risky."
