Stage 38: [The Final Decision We All Must Take]
The separation of the Eagle Unit from Shin Getter felt like a phantom limb to the two remaining pilots. They saw the Shin Getter Eagle vanish in the green light but could not fully process it.
"Ryoma!" Benkei yelled as loud as he could.
"Ryoma, no!" Hayato seconded as the loss in unity made both Jaguar and Bear fall far behind, crashing, and being absorbed into Shin Dragon's body.

Time had passed and it took a few moments for both pilots to realize they were still alive. The Jaguar and Bear units were now still,
Once the two of them came to their senses, Shin Dragon had stopped moving. Moments passed as the two pilots made sure Shin Jaguar and Bear were in one piece.
"... Benkei, where are we?" Hayato asked.
"Well we're somewhere in Dragon, though I've no idea where." Benkei said, recovering and looking around as he realized that Shin Getter Eagle was truly missing.
"I can't believe he's gone."
Hayato let out a humorless chuckle. "Hmph. Damn that Ryoma. He read us both like a book this time. I think he knew if we all went with him – it would be too much of a risk. You and I are still in this universe for a reason it seems."
Benkei sighed. "What are we supposed to do if that Getter is the fate our evolution always leads to?" He asked the empty air.
Then he asked another question.
"Do you think he's really dead?"
"That's hard to say." Hayato stated. "Ryoma Nagare may be an inconsiderate, reckless bastard, but he's never been a man that rushes in against something he can't beat."
Hayato frowned, scratching his chin. "Still – against that Getter anything's possible."
Benkei's eyes widened as he pulled off his helmet.
"Hold on. Is it just me – or is there a lot of Photon Power in this area?"
"We do have two Mazingers on board. What's your point?"
"No, Hayato – not just inside of Dragon. I mean its' – there's Photon particles in the space around Dragon too. What did Rando say about an extreme at both ends? For both Getter Rays and Photon Power? We didn't believe that a Getter could evolve to that level before, but – now Ryoma's gone with it. If that holds true for Getter, then - "
"Then the other extreme is likely possible! Kouji's dreams may not confirm it, but we shouldn't rule it out! We can't be allowed to lower our guard just yet!" Hayato said, reaching for the comm, hoping he could contact the bridge from where they were.
The spacequake had collapsed and the group found themselves back in what looked like regular space.
"What . . . the hell just happened?!" Shigeru asked, looking around the bridge as he spoke.
After a few seconds of silence, Ritsuko was quick to answer.
"It looks like our gambit paid off. The spacequake is sealed shut. Though my eyes are . . . still adjusting – there are enough stars around to tell this our universe. And we've stopped moving, which is nice." Ritsuko said, squinting as she adjusted her glasses. Her knuckles were white from clutching her computer for dear life when the ship had Shine Sparked into the spacequake.
"Doctor Akagi is correct. We're back in our universe. I can identify some constellations in the area that match our star charts." Maya reported.
"Then - well done everyone. I'm impressed we made it out." Misato stated.
"Hold on - something is wrong." Go reported from his piloting station. "Shin Eagle is not on board the ship! Shin Liger and Bear have merged into Shin Dragon's interior and – wait a moment. Commander Jin's contacting me." Go said.
"What is it, Commander Jin?" Go asked.
Go stopped and his eyes widened. "Hayato, that's-!"
From his seat, Go wavered and Misato felt a sense of unease. She didn't know Go very well but he had always been either very stoic or very hot-blooded. He never showed fear or unease. Whatever this was, it was serious. Enough even for Go to break protocol and call Hayato Jin by his first name.
"What do you mean, Ryoma's gone?" Go asked, an edge of disbelief in his voice.
Misato suddenly felt the weight of her own position become even greater as the bridge all heard Go's news.
"What else?!" Go said, standing up and looking down as though something was very, very wrong.
He hung up the comm and looked to Sho.
"Sho - I need you to take command of Shin Dragon right now! I'm needed in the hangar! Commander Jin has the rest!" Go said as he ran off, leaving the entire bridge confused.
Then Hayato appeared on the main screen, displaying him from within Shin Jaguar's cockpit.
"Captain Katsuragi, we can't lower our guard yet!" Hayato said, looking ready for anything. "Change to red alert! We need to prepare for combat again!"
Hayato's suggestion was interrupted as alarms blared all through the bridge, Maya widening her eyes when she looked to her instruments and saw what it was.
"Sensors are still detecting a distortion! It's new – but it's another Spacequake! Something's still wrong!" Maya yelled.
The crew could barely respond as the space around them warped and shattered apart, revealing a red void with thick mist all around them.
"Where are we now?!" Shigeru asked, looking around in confusion.
"Sensors say we're still in regular space – but that can't be right!" Maya said.
"Unknown signature detected – but – I'm detecting a lot of Photon Power throughout the area!" Mikoto seconded.
"It keeps rising! My instruments can't measure it!" Ritsuko yelled.
"Hold on – there's something inside of this mist." Maya said, zooming in.
" . . . This space keeps moving around us." Sho said, glaring. "Even if I stay still in Shin Dragon, we're going to encounter whatever's in there soon." The woman said, gripping Shin Dragon's controls.
The thick red clouds obscured the thing Maya alluded to, but as she switched Dragon's sensors to identify it, the mist simply vanished.
Then the space around them shook as they beheld the hulking iron devil before them. In terms of sheer size it made even Shin Getter Dragon appear small. It leaned out of a portal similar to the one they'd just exited.
A twisted and fiendish looking Mazinger Z, the machine of simple tubes and angles now a hulking fortress. The grille split open to form a pair of wicked looking jaws that opened before them.
It 'spoke' as a voice rang out.
"I did not expect you all the show me the way to your dimension from withing my own domain!"
"That's not a machine. Not anymore. That gigantic Mazinger is – alive!" Dr. Yumi yelled from the bridge's comm.
"Kabuto Kouji! I told you that I would return! And now – Everything will end!"
It was unmistakable. Kouji's worst fear was realized as the creature that appeared could only be described as a mechanical Devil God.
Mazinger ZERO.

Go entered the hangar to find Hayato and Benkei there, looking serious.
"Go. You know what we're up against. We have a favor to ask." Benkei said.
Hayato was quick to state what they wanted. "Another Shin Eagle. Can you make one right now? This group could use a complete Shin Getter against a monster like that."
Go closed his eyes and focused. "If we have the remains of other Getters on board – than yes." The man said. "But – what will you do?"
"We'll support Sho in piloting Shin Dragon." Benkei stated. "You lead Kei and Gai this time, Go."
Go nodded to Benkei, then he looked to Dr. Yumi.
"Can you reboot the Photonic Reactor to these settings?" Go asked, taking the notepad Yumi was writing equations on and turning it over, writing down his own numbers.
"Yes but – you're really going to try and make a Shin Getter Eagle from scratch using nothing but Photon Power and Getter Rays? At a time like this?!" The man asked. Go smiled.
"We're inside of Shin Dragon and have raw Photon Power and Getter Rays at our fingertips. For this task we have all the raw material we could possibly need."

"By my calculations we can overwhelm it if we hit it over and over again. The problem is – we need a knockout punch to send it reeling." Ritsuko said as she typed desperately, projected a diagram of ZERO on the screen.
"What are you talking about!? We can't defeat that thing. That looks beyond even us! If it has the Mazinger standard armor, I don't think anything we throw at it will matter." Gai retorted.
Ritsuko brought up an image of ZERO's abdomen, magnifying a swirling wormhole the Mazinger was leaning out of.
"See that? Around its' waist? That's a dimensional rift. It's not fully in this reality yet. I'm guessing it needs Kouji to fully appear here. That means our solution is pushing it back where it's coming from. If we can just push it back into the rift – we can win!"
"I see." Dr. Yumi seconded. "We're not talking about killing it – just applying enough force to knock ZERO back into whatever dimension it came from." He said.
"Double Mazingers won't be enough. We'll have to try the same attack but amplify it."
Dr. Akagi nodded and looked to the diagram as she thought. The massive Mazinger's waist and legs were not yet present as it struggled to remove itself from the spacequake's remnants.
"I see!" Maya realized. "Then it's trapping us in a pocket dimension since it can't reach our universe directly yet. The Spacequake must've given it a precise location but it still needs to pull something like this just so it can face us."
Ritsuko nodded. "Just like the first two times it sought out Kouji. Once through the Angel's vision and the second while he was in Instrumentality. It can't appear directly in our reality unless it has Kouji – and the only way to get to him is when we're not grounded in normal space."
"Right!" Misato realized. "It knows Kouji is here and that's why it showed up directly after we left that dimensional rift. Some God you are, ZERO! Needing one specific human just to appear like this!"
Then she spoke up. "Attention, combat unit! EVA Unit 01, 02, Great Mazinger, and Mazinkaiser! I need you all to engage that thing!"

Kouji still couldn't believe it as he went through Mazinkaiser's systems a second time as the hangar bay opened again. It was here. It was real. And it was after him. Kouji shook as his body was terrified. This level of fear was new to him.
"Kouji . . . remember to keep your distance!" Misato ordered. "I don't want that thing absorbing you. If what you said is true than you're what it's after. Even if Mazinkaiser so far has been impervious to everything from Angel attacks to a micro black hole, I have a bad feeling even it won't keep you safe from that thing."
"Yes, Captain!" Kouji said, shoving on his helmet again. "I'll do my best to stay out of its' range! This is Kabuto Kouji – Mazinkaiser – launching!"
Misato's orders were clear as their two Mazingers, and Unit 01 and 02 took off, advancing towards the much larger target.
"Hit that thing with everything you've got! Dragon will flank you!" Misato commended, readying the ship for battle.
"Misato, please tell me you have a plan beyond just attacking it en masse?" Asuka said, her normal sarcastic tone completely gone.
"Pilots, I know you just gave everything you had to beat Stinger and Cohen but if we're idle against something like this – it's already over! I'm working on a plan right now but – in order to have time to think, you're all going to have to engage it. Kouji! Stick to supporting the others. Rei – stay with Dragon. Dr. Yumi and I have a job for you."

Misato gave the orders as the small band of machines and cyborgs ignited booster packs, scranders, and a set of golden wings as they flew towards ZERO.
ZERO's mouth hung open slightly as though it were laughing.
"I face Great Mazinger, Mazinkaiser, and two Evangelions. Far too little to matter against me. You are rushing to your own death, Kabuto Kouji."
"It's talking to us?" Misato asked.
"Yes, Misato Katsuragi. You humans amuse me."
Misato covered her mouth as it had addressed her directly. "It can hear me?" She asked.
"Of course. I am omnipotent. I have seen your brief lives through all aspects. Your Human Instrumentality Project saw to that."
"How is that?!" Kouji retorted. "You're not human!"
ZERO shuddered as it almost looked like it was laughing, metal grinding and creaking together as it narrowed its' eyes.
"No. Not at the moment. My only flaw is needing the essence of a universes' Kabuto Kouji to fully manifest in that particular dimension and timeline. Though you are a mere part of me, I require that part in order to truly be complete and move about in this space."
"I see. Then you use Kabuto Kouji as a human battery." Rei stated.
"This is the fate that awaits you, Kabuto Kouji. I am all that is Mazin. And I am going to destroy you all."
"Don't act like you've already won this, ZERO! You need me just to walk into this universe! That's not quite the God-like power I've been so afraid of – what kind of God needs a human to be complete anyway?!"
Kouji yelled as Unit 01 and 02 got close enough to fire with their Pallet Rifles, the bullets doing little other than bounce off its' metal hide. Kouji assisted them with Freezing Beam while Tetsuya joined in with Navel Missile. All attacks didn't seem to matter to their opponent.
"Try this!" Asuka cried, using her AT Field like a battering ram to strike ZERO's face with.
Nothing.
ZERO's eyes narrowed as Kouji was next, Kaiser Knuckle following up as he struck ZERO's chest as hard as Mazinkaiser could hit.
Then he felt the sheer strain on his own machine. ZERO had not budged from his attack whatsoever. It was completely unlike Hell King Gordon's resistance to his attacks. At least against those, Kouji could feel his hits being absorbed.
ZERO on the other hand was impervious and Kouji could feel Mazinkaiser's joints strain as it simply could not damage the other machine. It was like punching a mountain and expecting it to collapse, only to feel one's own force directed back at them.
This was truly beyond what they'd faced earlier. Kouji contemplated using the Kaiser Blade but stopped when he saw ZERO was moving, pointing its' arm at Shin Dragon.
"Futile. Now witness – ROCKET PUNCH."
ZERO's rightmost arm blasted off at the titan's wrist, the massive forearm. nearing Shin Dragon. Sho took evasive action, the huge Getter veering to the right, barely avoiding the massive fist.

Aboard the bridge, the crew tensed as the attack passed by them.
"Sho! Pilots! Move, the arm's – coming back!" Shigeru warned. The crew then felt a huge impact as the ship shook and the arm blasted by them, going towards ZERO once again.
The Mazingers and EVAs flew out of the way in time to avoid the returning Rocket Punch.
Ritsuko was quick to issue a warning even as Tetsuya let loose on ZERO with a Thunder Break, the attack once again doing nothing to stop the opponent.
"Let the EVA team know to angle their AT Fields. That thing's energy based attacks should be ridiculously strong so – defecting them away is the best chance to repel them."
As Ritsuko gave the advice, Misato heard Dr. Yumi contact the bridge.
"The Photon Labs will prepare the long range weapons!" Yumi stated from the hangar. "Rei – we have a Positron Rifle charging up with Photon Power! Boss – we still have ammunition for Texas Mack's cannon!"
"The Photon Labs will begin assaulting ZERO soon! Sho, let's start having Shin Dragon attack ZERO ourselves!" Misato ordered.
"Glad to know we've got back-up! Now - GETTER BEAM!" Sho yelled, her roar booming over NERV's communications as the green lance of energy from Shin Dragon's head fired straight at ZERO.
The blast was visible from the main bridge, shooting overhead before hitting the target. ZERO didn't seem phased by the attack in the slightest.
"Is that all? Even from a Getter Dragon as evolved as your own?" ZERO asked, eyes narrowing as it looked amused.
"You arrogant bastard!" Benkei grunted.
"You're picking a fight with us AFTER we used everything we had to fight the Invaders!" Mikoto yelled, punching the terminal he was assigned to.
"That's true. We have to take more risks if we want to even scratch that thing. From that far away, Dragon's output isn't strong enough!" Sho said, an edge of anger in her voice.
"Captain Katsuragi! Permission to get closer? I want to wipe that damn smirk off its' face!"

So far ZERO had been impervious.
'So far', Tetsuya thought as he had an idea.
"If it doesn't feel our attacks individually – we'll hit it with a Mazinger Brother combination attack! Kabuto! With Great and I!" Tetsuya yelled as Great pointed at ZERO with a stretched out finger.
"Great and I will make sure you and Kaiser are covered!"
Despite his reluctance to engage, Kouji supposed he'd have to compromise at some point between orders and fighting back. It was the Mazinger Pilots' oath to face ZERO, Kouji reminded himself as he and Tetsuya began their attack. Great Mazinger sped ahead of the Evangelion pilots and got close enough to ZERO to attack head on.
"Hey ZERO! Try this on for size!" Kouji yelled as the attacks fired off.
"Thunder Break!"
"Rust Tornado!"
Both Mazinger attacks shot out, striking ZERO in a wind funnel laced with lightning. Yet the rival Mazinger didn't shudder as the winds and electricity spread, hitting its' chest and face directly. Then the rival Mazinger flexed and the funnel of wind broke apart. Kouji balked as ZERO's expression still seemed amused.
"Too weak. Now - Burn."
ZERO raised its' arms over its' head, the two panels on its' chest now free as they started to glow a vibrant yellow-orange. Due to the sheer size of the machine, Kouji could see each individual part of the chest panels heat up.
"It's going to use Breast Fire! Get back!" Tetsuya yelled as he charged with Great's fists out.
The machine slammed into the much larger target, managing to strike ZERO's chin and stun it for a moment. Great Mazinger was exerting enough force to make its' target stop charging the heat sinks as its' mouth grille began to shimmer white-silver instead.
"It's switching to Rust Hurricane! Sho! Take us back!" Hayato declared as Shin Dragon's thrusters reversed and it started to gain distance.
"We can't go back fast enough!" Benkei yelled. "Brace for impact!"
The funnel of wind that followed cut off Go and sent everyone flying as the ship was struck, spinning in the open space. The red armor alloy began to chip from the whirlwind Shin Dragon was caught in.
Misato grabbed onto her Captain's chair and held on for dear life as her world spun. Her arms screamed as the pressure was intense. Then the forces stopped as Shin Dragon was freed from the attack - Rust Hurricane disrupted by something else.
"It's being disrupted? But how?" Misato asked as she recovered.
"Another Rust Hurricane – or in this case - a Rust Tornado!?" Gai responded as yellow eyes and a demonic form cut through the artificial hurricane created by ZERO. Mazinkaiser appeared as Rust Tornado held up against ZERO's Rust Hurricane just long enough for Great Mazinger to recover.
"I . . . won't . . . let you . . . wipe us out like that, ZERO!" Kouji cried out, exerting Kaiser's output of Rust Tornado to its' fullest before the other wind funnel weakened.
"Then join me and doom your own universe." Mazinger ZERO stated. Rust Hurricane picked up again as the attack continued, breaking apart Mazinkaiser's own.
"Great Mazinger and I won't let that happen! Great Typhoon!" Tetsuya yelled as his Mazinger's own funnel of wind replaced Kaiser's, disrupting the Rust Hurricane. Kouji took the opportunity to boost away and fire a Photon Beam, to no avail.
"Taking that thing head on by ourselves is going to be the death of us! We can barely counter it as is! Moving back into formation! EVA team, can you cover me?" Kouji asked. He was answered as Unit 01 and 02 both flew ahead of him, blocking ZERO's own Photon Beam with their AT Fields.
"Stay back this time! We're not gonna just let that asshole eat you!" Asuka declared.
"Right! Kouji, you've saved us many times before so let us return the favor." Shinji said.
Meanwhile Great Mazinger fell back, joining the vanguard beside the EVAs.
"Hitting it with brute force isn't doing much – but we can't survive by just enduring its' attacks over and over again!" Tetsuya yelled to Shin Dragon on his comm.
"Tetsuya, hang in there!" Asuka urged. "We've only just begun to fight!"
Tetsuya shook his head to clear his vision.
"Then – we follow Captain Katsuragi's plan!" Tetsuya said. "Fall back for now and let Shin Dragon get its' attention."
"Alright! EVA team, regroup! Rei, are you ready?" Misato asked.
"Yes, Captain Katsuragi." Rei said as Unit 00 lay flat on its stomach as a large rifle emerged from within Shin Getter Dragon's wrist. Despite the size of the Positron Rifle, it looked extremely small protruding from the Getter's arm. Unit 00 got in firing position, grabbing the rifle's controls and steadying it.
"Photon Power amplified Positron Rifle ready. Give it hell, Rei." Professor Yumi directed.
Rei said nothing as she pulled the trigger, the blue beam of light slamming into Mazinger Zero and keeping its attention as Shinji and Asuka pulled back with Great and Mazinkaiser.
"Photon power on this scale? Interesting. Even with your version of Dr. Juuzo Kabuto being deceased."
"That's not all!" Boss declared.
He was next with the borrowed cannon, mounted on Shin Dragon's other wrist. The shots of both weapons struck Mazinzger ZERO in the face. The blasts made it halt for a moment as the two kept up their rate of fire.
"How's that you overgrown monster?!" Boss yelled, quickly having Borot reload so he could fire again.
"I admit I am impressed. You humans don't ever stop fighting against me. However - I wonder how long you can keep up this rate of fire?"
"Regroup around the ship!" Misato yelled, ignoring ZERO's taunts. "We're going to make the biggest AT Field we can to stop whatever attack it tries next. Once we've survived that, we're hitting Mazinger ZERO with all that we've got! Our next plan is a coordinated and precise all out attack! This will be our final decisive battle – so give it everything you've got!"

"Explain again, Doctor! Thinkin' about this is making my head hurt!" Nuke complained even as he used the crane to load another shell into Boss Borot's borrowed cannon.
"In short, hitting it hard enough will send it back. Then we just have to collapse the spacequake again." Go said as the majority of a Shin Getter Eagle had formed from the sheer side of the hangar. "Almost ready. Hang on." Go whispered as he worked.

"We blew out both our reactors doing the Shine Spark. We could try it again – but that would mean losing our way back home. The engines barely held together after the first use." Benkei pointed out from the pilot controls of Shin Poseidon.
Hayato nodded, in Shin Liger's control seat, the two watching intently as Sho worked the controls of Shin Dragon.
"Well what other options do we have? We're on limited time and should engage it while we still have a chance! Even if that means we don't get a return trip!" Tetsuya spoke up from outside the ship.
"That's right! If we let it come to us, it'll be too late! At that point Mazinger ZERO will be complete enough to eat me and this whole universe after that!" Kouji exclaimed.
"Still – conserve your energy while you're close to Shin Dragon. We'll be on standby. I want you all to hit that thing with everything you've got! We'll throw our full support behind you! There's still some weapons we haven't tried yet. The most extreme option being our Shine Spark." Misato stated.
Professor Yumi was next to speak. "That's right. In the event that you don't succeed – we'll use all of Dragon's leftover power to try and ram it back through the portal with another Shine Spark. Even if we all die, it's better than letting this monster roam free." Professor Yumi said.
Then Go appeared on the monitor, looking tired as a newly created Shin Getter Eagle was behind him.
"It's finished. The replica of Shin Eagle is done. Kei, Gai! Get down here as soon as possible! We can form a Shin Getter with enough power to take ZERO by surprise." Go stated, sounding tense.

"The unstable energy of this battlefield means my precognition is not able to see through it. Yet it matters not what plan you have. I will not fall to it."
ZERO's heat sinks ignited again before firing off, the huge burst of fire could consume anything in its path. Everyone on board tensed as the heat blast got closer and closer.
"EVA Team, now!" Misato yelled. With that, Unit 00, 01, and 02 all joined AT Fields once again, Asuka and Shinji adding to Rei's with their own.
A hexagonal barrier formed at a sheer angle. The AT Field formed from Shin Dragon's side and expanded to shield the Getter, even as it deflected the blast.
"Joint AT Field holding." Rei stated, keeping the attack at bay.
She rotated their field's lens gradually so that ZERO was hit by its own blast of Breast Fire. The Mazinger hissed, its' form sizzled for a moment. It was enough of a surprise for ZERO to withdraw the slightest bit – certainly enough for Ritsuko to notice.
"There! It stopped that attack, and retreated slightly! It's Breast Fire is extremely strong so we'd need something on the level of Kaiser Nova or Stoner Sunshine to make a similar reaction."
"Ritsuko! Not a bad idea! It looks like plugging Unit 00 into our Photon Power supply directly worked! Now! While ZERO's recovering from using Breast Fire - !" Dr. Yumi urged.
The hangar doors opened in Shin Dragon before three familiar ships launched from its' bay.
The surrounding space was silent before a shout was heard across everyone's comms.
"CHANGE! SHIN! GETTER! – 1!"
Go's voice rang out as the new Shin Eagle merged with Shin Liger and Shin Bear, the familiar red and white form of Shin Getter Robo appearing with a surge of electricity, clenching its' fists as it joined the formation between the Mazinger Brothers.
"Go-!" Rei uttered, finding the sight of Shin Getter Robo an unexpected source of hope.
Misato was quick to give orders again.
"Rei – now that it's stunned, I want you with the rest of the group while we get things ready on our end. You have the strongest AT Field of the EVA pilots – and Shin Getter Dragon won't need it for what we've got planned next!"
"That goes for the whole EVA unit. Cover Kouji when you can. I don't know just what that thing can do – but you've fought Mazingers before. This one just happens to be much bigger. So be careful." Misato finished.

"Look at that, Hayato! Shin Getter Robo is back!" Benkei whispered with the faintest amount of hope in his voice.
"Benkei – we saw them pull their weight earlier – now let's see what the next generation of Getter Pilots can do in a beast like Shin Getter." Hayato responded.
"Go. Kei. Gai." Sho said, looking on as her friends in the newly combined Shin Getter readied themselves for combat. "Kick that things' ass!"

"Get-change successful! Jaguar's all ready to go!" Kei reported. "What about you, Gai?"
"Shin Bear's purring like a kitten. Now let's show this overgrown bastard why you don't mess us!" Gai responded.
Go addressed the Mazinger Pilots as Shin Getter hovered beside them.
"Kouji. Tetsuya. We've got an opening. So let's hit that thing with everything we've got!" Go said as the Mazingers extended their hands, placing them on top of Shin Getter's own.
The three turned to see ZERO in the far distance, roaring at them as the space restricting it got thinner and thinner. The Mazinger's eyes narrowed as pupils could be seen keenly looking at them all.
"A new Shin Getter? Amusing. However – a slight change in numbers will not change this outcome."
"That's it. Keep its' attention on our pilots." Misato said out loud, typing a message to Kouji's comm as she did so, hoping ZERO couldn't read it.
"Kouji! Get its' attention! You taunted it earlier! Do that again while the EVA Team joins up with you!" Misato's message commanded.
"Well everyone - looks like it's time for us to give it the last word." Kouji said with a nervous smirk.
"The last word? From a mere Shin Getter Robo and your garbage attempts to surpass Mazinger Z?! You three will fall before me."
"Hang on, we're here too!" A voice rang out, making ZERO take pause.
"You'll have to add three more to your calculations, asshole! EVA Unit 02 and the EVA Team has arrived!" Asuka shouted, putting Unit 02's hand over the Super Robot trio's. She was soon joined as Unit 01 and 00's hands followed.
"Looks like this is the last thing we're facing! Mama and I won't hold back! You'd all better keep up!" Asuka said as she readied Unit 02.
"Yeah! It's time to show you all this Shin Getter's power!" Gai declared.
"Great Mazinger - designed to surpass Mazinger Z! ZERO - I hope you're ready to feel the edge of its steel!" Tetsuya warned.
"In the name of all my friends, and the life in this universe that Adam and Lilith left behind, I will fight." Rei simply said.
"We've come this far! What's one more battle? We're going to win this and go home!" Shinji spoke up.
"When three hearts become one, Getter Robo is invincible! So with all of us – all our hearts together, there's no way we can lose!" Kei said.
". . . For Ryoma." Go simply said.
"Shin Dragon's behind you all." Misato affirmed. "Now – hit that thing with everything you all can throw at it!"
"You hear all that, Zero!? We've all said our pledges and I can hear Mazinkaiser's roaring and raring to go! Against us you'll see just what an ultimate Mazinger can do! One way or another – we're ending this!" Kouji declared as the pilots all removed their hands from the scrum.
"Then - the six of our machines will settle it! Super Robot Army – Move out!" Tetsuya yelled as they all took off.

Zeon Paralysis Crystal – I'm glad you liked the closure I gave Gendo in the last chapter. Thanks for rolling with all the twists and turns that occurred in that chapter.
Nmorrow – Glad you liked all three pilots getting a send off. I didn't just want them to die without any recognition as they're all very important characters. You'll have to see what's next as this fic winds down to an actual ending but the events in this most current chapter should give you some idea of what to expect.
Gnaw55617 – I am super pleased you liked the amount of Getter focus in the last chapter. I love Getter Robo Armageddon and I couldn't really think of anything more awesome than a gigantic Getter Tomahawk that cleaves through all of Jupiter's moons other than having Baron Ashura get hit by it too. I certainly won't stop believing in Getter or the Getter Team as they're fighting the good fight despite Ryoma's disappearance.
