Everyone had gathered and the doors were closed. All the dancers in the middle parted from the room and cooks came out with servants behind them. All the cooks who held dishes ordered the servants to pass them all out. Every servant that stood behind their assigned cooks, picked up plates, drinks, small and big dishes, then they went across the floors to their guests.
A group of servants all came around Y/N, Sesshomaru, and their gang, placing dishes and beverages on their table. With each dish and drink that got sat down, Y/N practically drooled at the sight and Rin had joined in. The only thing that disgusted her was the fact that Obsidian was given bugs on a platter and a cup of blood... She nearly puked at that. None the less she and the gang all began to dig in after all the other guests got their food. "Thank you all for coming to the ball! Feel free to dance to the music, if you so wish to. I hope you enjoy the feast!" Queen Suji who stood up off her throne a bit and remained behind the drapes, lifted her arms up then clapped twice. From either side of her, a group of ten musicians came out from behind her; presumably from a door behind her throne that couldn't be seen.
From the far side of the ballroom, only one person came in and the Queen stepped out from the drapes. She really did seem to suit the image of a yokai city Queen... Two large red and black wings looked pretty similar to Obsidian and Onyx's; when Y/N saw that, she could've sworn he was related to her or something... A young woman dressed in a royal gown. Y/N could only assume, the Queen walked up to her and their conversations were inaudible.
The Queen's wings, unlike Obsidian and Onyx, were sprawled out to give off a dominant front. She wore an empress outfit full of black and red, her eyes were like Onyx's and she was smiling faintly to the Princess. "Who's that?" Y/N whispered over to Obsidian curiously, she figured he'd know something since Sesshomaru wasn't the type to answer such questions...
"Oh? You're depending on me, to answer? I feel honored,~" He teased and chuckled, giving his Sebastian smirk. Y/N just sweatdropped at his remark, then he continued. "The young woman over there is Princess Suji and that's Queen Suji," He answered, watched her raise a questioning brow and heard her ask.
"Then, where's Prince Suji?" When she asked him, Obi only giggled at her question and picked up a bug. She immediately averted her alien eyes from the sight of him chewing the insect, it was disgusting.
After he swallowed, he smirked. "Which one? There are two Princes. Queen Suji presents both Princes as one Prince Suji since they have the same last name,~" he answered, lowered his head and allowed the shadow to veil over his face.
" Um... There's two?" She blinked in surprise, leaned back into her spot and saw Sesshi peer over at her from the side.
"Yes, she has two sons and one daughter..." Sesshomaru replied in Obi's place. Although he had no idea who the two sons were, they were never introduced to him. That ruined the batman's fun, he pouted and whined, then frowned right after.
"Soooo, where are they...?" Now Y/N was getting annoyed. It felt like the topic of the two sons were getting avoided. Her eyes narrowed and she frowned, feeling irritation build up. She began to eat too, rather enjoying the cooked food that the servants just so happened to give her.
Obsidian leaned over the table, rested his chin on the back of his hand and grinned mischievously. "You're looking at one of them,~" He chuckled, making Y/N grow wide-eyed at the news. Her eyes were the size of dinner plates and she had no mouth at all. Even Sesshomaru was a little taken aback, his yellow eyes were staring directly at the man across from them dangerously.
"How come you have never told us...? You are apart of a royal family. You even received an invitation much like myself and Inuyasha..." Sesshi closed his eyes and ate at his grub too. Asashi was viewing the batman from the corner of his eyes, eyeing him suspiciously. Rin and Jaken were both fighting over who ate what at the end of the table, so they pretty much missed out on the big news. They both wanted to sit next to Sesshomaru, sadly the lordship had Rin sit next to him beforehand so now Jaken was envious.
"Yes, however,~" Obi paused and felt Onyx walk over to get behind him. His older brother folded his arms beneath the sleeves of his robes and gave a friendly smile. "A Prince and Princess are considered royal, so I didn't lie,~" he added, giggled out of amusement and leaned back further on his seat.
"Has my little brother been playing mind games again? Please forgive him, he takes after our mother," Onyx, whose eyes stared at the group, paused in his speech before continuing. "It is true, though. We're the two Princes. If I know my little brother right, he prefers to live among nature. Hence why he bought such an expensive home far past the marketing district. The only way our mother could contact him was to send a letter of invitation so he would be aware of what's going to happen. I, on the other hand, prefer to stay in the palace with our little sister..." He frowned, looked down at Obi angrily and squinted his eyes dangerously. He was a doting older brother who cared deeply for his younger sister.
Obi began to sweat profusely now, he could sense the rage radiating off his brother. He knew better than to anger him, yet he kept that expression he had present. "You mean to tell me... That we had a Prince tagging along with us, this entire time...? Wait..." Y/N peeked over at Asashi and widened her eyes. She just remembered something, she completely forgot to ask Asashi about Obi... "Obsidian said when we first met, that someone had him meet me in that clearing before, to test my power. I know this is a bit off topic, but are you the one?" she questioned the full-blooded Ketix.
"Yes... Queen Suji and I are friends, she allowed one of her sons to test you after I've explained everything to her. She was more than delighted to let him take part." Asashi answered and ate some seasoned fish with closed eyes.
"Mhmhm, that reminds me,~" Obi sang suspiciously after chuckling and lowered his face darkly once more. "Remeber the time when we first met, Sesshomaru? You helped defeat an army of the undead. The land Mamono City was built on long ago, had a war between the manipulated undead, their warlord who was cunning with hide-and-seek, and against us yokai.~ You just came strolling along and decided to jump in. You told me once that you had to get rid of the foul scent that wafted up your nos- GAH!" He cried out, feeling Sesshi kick his toes with his own foot and heard the lordship growl beneath his breath. There was enough room for him to move his leg under the table and swat at the batman. Luckily no one saw, or...could not see.
"I regret ever partnering up with you..." With his eyes closing and ripping apart a raw rabbit leg, he moved his foot back in its place. He heard Y/N stifling her giggles and glanced down at her from the side in his peripherals.
"Tsundere,~" She smirked at the lordship, only to earn a threatening stare that screamed, You'll pay for that comment later. She frowned and gulped, before looking away awkwardly. DOES HE KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS?! ARE 'DERES' AROUND IN THIS ERA TOO?! she mentally panicked and started to eat at her food rather rapidly.
"Ah, my sons," A feminine voice sounded behind the brothers across from Y/N and everyone looked up. There stood Queen Suji with a pleasant smile gracing her red lips. The Princess even stood next to her mom, hands clasped together in front politely and an emotionless stare to her features. "I knew you two wouldn't refuse the anniversary ball," She said, looked over at Sesshomaru and kept those pleasantly smiling lips present. "So, you decided to come after all.~" she added. Soon she was accompanied by Sesshomaru's mother from behind. Feeling the woman's presence from behind, she turned around and gave a big grin. "Inukimi, it's lovely to see you here. It appears your whole family decided to join the ball,~" she said and giggled lightly. "I'll be just a moment," she stated and held up a finger, then turned to face Y/N's group again.
"Step forward, Shishi." With that said, the Princess took a few steps forward and gave a slight bow to the western lordship. "This is my daughter Shishi Suji, the youngest of my three children. I doubt you've met her yet.~" she gave a light giggle and placed a gentle hand on Shishi's shoulder.
"It's nice to meet you..." she was monotonous and with another slight bow, she walked away. Her expression was still emotionless... That caught Y/N's attention and her brow rose in confusion as her eyes trailed after the Princess. It appeared Shishi was just heading back through the door she came in from the first time.
"Forgive my daughter, she has no heart for parties of any sort, let alone people," The Queen sighed after saying that, with a sweatdrop going down her head.
"Is she ok? She looked...dead. Not, physically of course! Just, I mean... She looked like she really-" Before Y/N could finish, Sesshomaru stuck a hand over her mouth and kept his calm demeanor evident. This surprised her, eyes widening at the action and them viewing his hand with a hovering question mark above her head.
"Is it just as she said... She doesn't favor parties of any kind..." Sesshi commented and lowered his hand, before giving her a warning glare that told her to keep quiet.
Y/N shrunk down comically in her seat, feeling helpless right now. She felt so ignorant, not knowing what to say, what not to say or act, bothered her. She just hoped she didn't say anything insulting. "Sorry..." Quietly mumbled and gradually poked at her food.
"It's alright. You're the one who's going to save us from the upcoming threat, correct?" The Queen asked and smiled, her eyes now shifting over at the half-breed alien. Seeing her nod, she did the same in return. "In that case, I look forward to the events I plan on holding after the new enemy arrives and gets eliminated." she chirped and smiled with closed eyes, then opened them to show mischievousness.
"What events...?" Sesshi questioned with his expressionless features and viewed her. What this woman had in mind, she had to be up to no good. If Onyx says Obsidian takes his mind games after his mother, he could only imagine just how BAD she is...
"Why, wedding plans.~" With a wink and a low, dark chuckle, she answered. "I would love to have one of my sons marry a strong woman such as yourself, they're of age and are in need of a bride,~" she stated in her darkened voice and her one winked eye opened all the way. Both her hands got softly planted on top of their heads, seeing that Onyx decided to sit down next to his little brother a minute ago.
"WHAT?!" Y/N screamed out in shock and distaste through gritted teeth. Her eyes were as wide as dinner plates once more, even Sesshomaru and the gang were taken aback by the information. Both Jaken and Rin had stopped fighting at the end of the table to stare at the Queen with astonishment. HELL NO, FUCK NOOOO, I AM NOT MARRYING A BLOODSUCKING, BUG EATING GUY! she mentally screamed and sweated profusely in her head; she was basically a statue right now. Hysterically turned into a white statue that had a few cracks going down her stone body.
Under the table, Sesshomaru gripped a tight fist and it almost made blood trickle out of his palm. Even the two bloodsucking brothers were astounded, Obi had parted lips that were shaped like an O and Onyx had wide eyes and the same kind of mouth. Only, Obsidian was blushing madly at his mother's words. "Queen Suji... Don't you think you're being a bit too sudden with this...? You're wanting to marry one of your sons when neither of them expresses any sign of attraction towards each other..." Asashi spoke up after hearing Y/N's outburst and saw that her expression was quite devastated. He didn't know about the attraction Obi had towards her, only Sesshi did...
"Yes, but the time between now and when she fights the future threat, is lengthy. It will give time for love to grow.~" she sang mischievously and turned around. "Now, I'll be seeing you later. Inukimi and I must catch up on some matters.~" she giggled lightly and waved goodbye to her sons, before walking away with Sesshomaru's mother. Inukimi mouthed We must speak in private when I'm free, over her shoulder before walking off with the Queen.
"I... I must be going as well, eheh..." Onyx awkwardly stated before standing up. He walked away as calmly as he could and kept a passive smile in view, but deep down he was pondering on what in the world his mother's secret motives were. Obi on the other hand...was blushing madly still, giggling to himself and keeping that Sebastian smirk plastered.
"Lord Sesshomaru, does that mean Y/N won't be with us anymore since she would have to be married to one of them?" Rin innocently asked and blinked her cute eyes up at the dog demon.
"No..." he simply replied, albeit furious. Why would he feel so jealous, be so angry over Queen Suji's plan and the fact that she wanted one of her sons to marry Y/N? He didn't feel any kind of attachment towards Y/N at all, yet, why did he get so envious? Those questions lingered in his mind for a good while. His reply though, made Y/N sigh from relief. She knew by that, he wasn't going to let the Queen go through with her plans.
Only a few people were dancing, while others were just standing up conversing with one another. Some people still remained seated but in all honesty, the whole ballroom was full to the brim! It was so thick with people, that neither she or her little group noticed Rei Nago standing in the sidelines staring at her.
His eyes gleamed red for just a moment before they turned blue. A group of giggling women approached him and he instantly put on his friendly facade with a pleasant smile. Yogu Hanai was eyeing the young woman in Sesshi's group too, hired as a guard to protect the Princess in case something were to happen. Sadly though, his eyes were not on Shishi, seeing that she wasn't even in the ballroom... He was standing near the entryway where the guests first came in from and stood among the other guards. Sure, he loved his village, but he had more important matters that needed tending to.
