Chapter 26: Training.~

"So... They were killed... But by who...?" A softly whispered boy's voice echoed through the air and a pair of small hands were in the scene, holding a small glass orb in his grasp just above his lap. "Their presence had faded but their killer..." The boy's voice trailed off and his sharp fingernails clenched tightly on the glass orb that he held. "Kurimi, go investigate as to who had killed those two and find out who the message owner is. Instead of kidnapping the young female, try to extract her blood so we won't be delayed again. Resurrecting the great Hateshiganai is dire, anything or anyone that stalls our time must be dealt with... If we don't bring him back in time of his much-needed arrival, if we are late, he won't be able to fulfill his goal..." The boy's voice echoed once more, soon a pair of his fox ears where shown and twitched a little.

"Yes, sir..." A woman's voice spoke not too far from where the boy was but her appearance never showed. The boy's fox tail flapped a couple times when his backside was shown; apparently, he was sitting on a stone edge inside of some rocky tomb. Behind him sat a gold and dark red casket, the gold covered mostly over the dark red and made it look like it was in the background of the main color; it was an intricate design.

His sharp nails tapped the glass orb twice and soon, much like a crystal ball, it showed the view of Yogu's dead body laying out in a field of crows where Suji had disposed of it at. Then it showed Rei's corpse laying at the bottom of a cliff, drenched in blood, naked, his head missing, and all around too much of a gory mess to even go into detail. Soon the images disappeared and only his lap from underneath was visible, exposing his crossed animal-like feet that seemed similar to shipo's.

The thoughts of the message owner whom Yogu Hanai had questioned the boy about, wafted through his mind. That very letter he had sent laid next time him on the stone edge. He sighed and sounds of his clothes rustling indicated that he stood up from his spot. "We're running out of time..." he mumbled. "Oh great one, we need another one of your creatures, Kurimi may need assistance," His low voice stated and out from the oddly colored coffin came thick, black, liquid that seemed to seep out of the cracks of the lid.

It didn't show the boy but it was obvious he stood there staring at it. It was so thick and foreboding, yet the boy didn't seem the least bit fazed... Soon, the ominous liquid began to compact together, rise up off the ground, and take shape of the same black blob of a male figure like before. Standing tall, outlining indicating muscle but his body features had no details. No face, no hair, no detail whatsoever. That thing, it was the same creature that Y/N had killed a while back... "Assist Kurimi, she will fill you in on the details..." The boy's voice echoed out once more, watching as the blob-like male nodded in response.

"Yes, sir!" The blob put a hand over his heart, bowed, and rose back up quickly. Instantly he vanished, leaving the boy there alone with the great Hateshiganai in the casket.

The last few days were rather awkward after that night at the ball. Y/N's been training every day after that event and her period was finally over...thankfully. 1-2 hours throughout the passing three days, she had been out in that field training with Sesshomaru and Asashi always stood in the sidelines to observe her.

He'd make them take breaks in between their spars and make her gain her focus back so she could try using her Ketix ability. Sesshomaru was teaching her a few tricks she could use against a demon if needed. Yes, he had his outfit re-made and fitted just like his old attire, so now he was back to wearing his casual clothing with that armor piece on him.

Y/N tried her best to avoid an incoming blade when Sesshomaru would strike at her with his claws. She wasn't allowed to use her guns during their spar, because Asashi claimed she relied too heavily on them to even consider other methods of combat. One of the flaws she had to work out during a fight, despite knowing martial arts, she needed to get physically stronger and faster for her hand-to-hand combat to even positively affect her battles.

Right now Sesshi was in midst of training her precision in close quarters combat and her reflexes to dodge in time. Yes, she managed to take down a couple bad guys before, but not every demon or odd monster's going to be the same in power against her. Y/N knew that, Asashi knew that, Sesshi, and everyone else knew that.

Just when she had dodged a swift swipe from his claws, in came a roundhouse kick to her head and it sent her flying across the field of flowers. Y/N slammed against the base of a tree nearby, she crashed through it and made the tree topple over. Damn he hits hard! Y/N mentally swore in her mind and slowly stood up rubbing her head. We've been at this for a good hour or so and I'm exhausted. I was doing well for the first 30 to 40 minutes of our spar, then next thing I knew he brought up his game a little! she fumed in her mind and pouted as she made her way back over to the field.

It was in the afternoon, she had light bruises on her arms and legs, while a faint scratch that bled a little, resided on her cheek. "Sesshomaru, can we stop for the day? I'm pooped..." she pouted again and fell flat on her stomach against the soft grass, with her arms laying above her head.

Sesshi, who stood there casually with no emotion on his face, just closed his eyes with a simple hum of acknowledgment. "Tomorrow we must find you some casual clothes that would help you blend in better with the yokai citizens..." he said in his monotonous voice and peered over at Asashi, who had crossed arms and an intensive stare. "Gato... She'll need a masking charm to hide her half-human presence..." he added, his golden eyes viewing the said sensei of Y/N's.

The very Ketix himself nodded in understanding and looked down at the grumbling, groaning half-breed. "We will stop for the time being... At dawn tomorrow, we will begin again. I'll have Queen Suji order a special outfit for you to wear in public whenever we are to leave for something important..." he said, turned, and made his way towards the city again. Rin, Obi, and Jaken were all left back at the house specifically to keep safe just in case another attack occurred like in the ball.

Suddenly, the sound of Y/N's stomach growled and Asashi had stopped in his tracks, both he and Sesshomaru closed their eyes once more at that. "Lunch will be prepared, then... As your teacher, I will take responsibility to replenish your hunger... The food I'll prepare is Ketix food, specifically for those who are in training and are meant to keep their health at full." he explained, continued onward and made Y/N grin real big.

"Sesshomaru did you hear that?! My teacher's gonna make me Ketix food! Wait... Why did that sound like dog food...? Now I feel like I'm his pet or something," Her excitement went downhill once she thought about it. She slouched down with annoyance on her features and her alien eyes slowly glanced over at a retreating Asashi.

"If I were to make you pet food, I would've said Kokuda food instead. Kokuda is a type of animal species which are tameable and are pet worthy," Asashi rose his voice so she could hear and smirked slightly at his own tease.

"AH! Did he seriously just say that...?!" She gasped with a fake hurting expression and put a hand to her heart, then smiled faintly at his tease. She rolled her eyes and giggled lightly before patting Sesshi on his chest. His golden eyes looked down at her hand, questioning why in the world she patted him like that until she spoke. "Sesshomaru...? Your legwork is painful..." she stuck her tongue out to show playfulness and laughed lightly, soon walking off after gesturing towards her head.

"Legwork...?" The lordship mumbled in question and squinted his eyes. Only a minute later did he realize what she meant, his kick must've been too hard even though he held back on her... He remembered the conversation he and his mother had before his gang began to head back to Obi's house after the ball.

His mom told him the real reason why she wanted him to marry her, not only would she be a powerful wife, but she could tell how he looked at her sometimes. A mother's intuition as she called it, it was the same look his father had towards her once and she knew deep down that Sesshi loved her. He didn't particularly understand, she claimed he would never understand unless he tried to get closer to her somehow. Getting to know her, trying to understand her, he would never comprehend unless he tries...

He denied what she had told him altogether, his pride got the better of him and he stated he would never fall for such a half-breed or some lowly human like his father; but boy was he going to eat those words... Because secretly, just to prove his point, he planned on doing exactly what his mother said.

He trailed after her, watched her intently as she viewed the afternoon sky and its shining sun. Her hands were clasped together behind her, her hair flowed with the soft breeze and seeing such a happy smile on her reminded him of Rin. "I will prove to you, mother, that I will never fall for such a being..." he mentally said and grumbled. No matter how much he tried though, he couldn't break his gaze from her gorgeous alien eyes.

They sparkled when the sun hit them, such an abnormal color, it complimented her complexion and true beauty that he couldn't help but notice. No human alive could ever match such a foreign beautiful creature...

Once they made it to Obi's house, Asashi had already made lunch and Ketix food specifically for Y/N. Everyone ate in bliss, Obi however...was out feasting on his own accord. Rin, Jaken, Asashi, Sesshomaru, and Y/N all munched down on the wonderful food. "Wow, who knew the all powerful Ketix could cook?" Y/N teased and giggled to herself. She was in such a great mood, mostly because she was getting somewhere with her training finally... She was able to grasp the odd force this time and hold it for a good two minutes! She was pleased, to say the least.

'Of course, I can... I lived alone for a long time, obviously I have learned how to cook for myself..." he mumbled with closed orange eyes and took a bite with his chopsticks.

"But can you make, grilled chicken and baked potatoes...?~" she hummed in thought and put a finger to her chin, thinking about some food she doesn't really mind eating. Asashi opened his eyes then lifted a questioning brow and Sesshi glanced over at her curiously. Once she saw them staring at her, even Rin gawked at her quizzically, she laughed nervously and scratched her cheek. "UUUUUUH, NEVER MIIIIND!~" she continued laughing and soon got interrupted by her sensei's voice.

"Aside from...the food source, you spoke of... With your food, lord Sesshomaru and Y/N, please follow me..." He demanded, stood from his spot and left his food there when he made his way over to the sliding doors that led outside. Y/N glanced over at Sesshi, only to see him with closed eyes and a frown. She watched him stand, pick his food up, which was uncooked beef...and followed after the Ketix.

She did the same, giving Rin a reassuring wave of her hand and smile when the child held concern on her face. Now they were back outside and as soon as they stood there in front of Asashi, he quickly bolted back into the house with the sliding doors slamming shut.

"What just happened...? Did we really get kicked out...?" Both her and Sesshi's backsides were in view, staring awkwardly at the closed doors. She sweatdropped at what had happened, now tempted to peek up at the lordship's expression. He seemed unfazed, emotionless as usual, but regardless he turned and sat down at the edge where you could step out onto the ground.

She puffed out a cheek from annoyance and sat down next to him, awkwardly yet again, being in silence. "Why'd he do that...?" she mumbled in between bites. Sesshi knew exactly why... Asashi wanted him to be alone with her for some unknown reason...
