I am so glad to hear some of you are enjoying the story so far. Also, just to say I am not following the Ninjago series plot. Enjoy. Bai
The ninja had gone all around the park by now and were next to the flying chairs. "Where could he be?" Cole asked slightly frustrated "Well," Nya started ", knowing Zane he probably would go where nobody really is." They all looked at Nya a little conspicuously "So what are you saying?" Kai sighed Nya rolled her eyes "The parking lot!" She face palmed, they all said oh in realization. Jay giggled "Wow, we are so dumb!" They all followed Nya to the other side of the amusement park.
Zane couldn't believe it he had never met another mute person in his life. What are you doing? Zane signed while cocking his head. She just looked at the ground. Oh, sorry I just haven't really met another mute. She smiled this time revealing a tooth more like a fang overlapping her lip. Zane let out a small gasp. She cocked her head then covered her mouth with both her hands. Sorry again I don't want to be rude, you don't need to cover it. Zane signed trying to comfort her. She slowly lowered her hand and the silent staring was back. Suddenly she quickly, looked over towards the entrance, "ZANE!?" The one in black called. The ninjas were there and looking for Zane.
The others started to scatter around the car park Jay being the nearest to where Zane was. The girl looked at Zane shrugged then she then grabbed a pebble from the floor of the car park and she started running off when he grabbed her sleeve somehow causing her hood to fall down revealing her ears to be snow leopard ears and on top of her head, she was a hybrid, Zane didn't mind hybrids but almost everyone else on their society did. She removed his hand from her arm, pulled her hood up looking a little ashamed and ran towards the bushes. Zane starred at where she ran and felt pity in his heart.
Jay saw a figure run out from behind the car "Zane?" He went behind the car and found Zane looking almost hurt (emotionally). "Zane there you are, GUYS I FOUND ZANE!" Jay shouted walking towards the startled looking blonde. "Hey you alright? You look like you just saw a hybrid hahahahaha" Zane looked at him and signed Is it really that obvious? "Wait you saw a hybrid?!" Jay shrieked the others were here now "Wait what?" Cole asked, "He saw a hybrid!" Jay shrieked once again. "You know they are dangerous, Zane we were SO worried!" Nya said like a mother. This hybrid was mute, and she seemed scared and ashamed, she was a child guys, she disserves better as a start in life. "Well if Zane trusted her then probably all should trust her." Lloyd scoffed stepping in front of the others ", come on guys do you know anyone who has been attacked by a hybrid, sensei always would say not to judge, I think but we're ninja meant to protect those who need it!" The others looked at each over a little unsure but then thought of their role in society and sighed. "Yeah your right sorry Zane." Kai said then the others all apologized quickly. "Yeah they're actually pretty cool!" Jay said looking at the ninja trying to block out his childhood trauma (that included a hybrid).
"Now let's get back to the restaurant!" Cole said clapping his hands together. "Yes," Nya said," Sensei will be waiting for us." And with that they all burst into conversation but Zane, who just looked back to where the hybrid girl disappeared to. Then he joined the others walking to the restaurant.
When they got their Sensei was still looking out the window very deep in thought. They sat down and the waiter came up to them, "Are you ready to order?" he asked politely. Kai was about to say something when there was a loud screech just outside the restaurant "HYBRID AAAA HYBRID!" They all looked at Zane (besides sensei). "Excuse us..." Kai said to the waiter who was looking out the door in disbelief and worry. They all ran out the building to find the hybrid that Zane met earlier running for her life. "Is that her, Zane?" Lloyd asked slightly panicked, Zane nodded not taking his eyes off the freckled hybrid.
She ran round the park very quickly she was so close to the exit when an exterminator van blocked her path and she tried to go the other way, when she realized that she trapped by a circle of security and exterminators. They tried to get close but showed her claws and teeth as a warning, she knew she was not strong enough, but she did not hesitate and growled.
The ninja just caught up and they saw the hybrid was already tied up and in a muzzle. "What do we do?!" Jay shout whispered. Everyone shrugged but Nya who walked up to an exterminator talking to a police officer, holding the hybrid. "Um hi, my name is Nya, and I am a part of the ninja." She said constantly smiling trying to hide her anger 'how could somebody do this to a living creature' she thought, she felt bad about earlier. The exterminator looked at her, "What do you want?" He said rather impolitely. Nya looked at the others and mouthed 'what should I say'. Then Lloyd joined her and said to the exterminator, "What my companion is trying to say is, that may we dispose of this hybrid for you, really it's the best we can do." Lloyd said also smiling extremely.
The exterminator looked at the child in green and hesitated a little but eventually said, "And how do you think you will dispose of that thing?" He said squinting at Lloyd. "Well I um, I-" Lloyd stuttered before Kai came and said, "It's a secret ninja's only, can we go now?" He said quickly not making eye contact (looking at his phone) Nya nudged him for the last part. The exterminator rolled his eyes and sighed, "UGH FINE!" He shoved the girl towards Kai, and she growled at him, so he backed up a bit still holding her hood. Zane came over and smiled at her she just frowned and tried to escape Kai's grasp, so Cole took over being stronger. Zane signed to her We are here to help you, you don't have to trust us, but we are going to get you out of here. She obviously didn't trust them, but this was her only ticket out of this situation. They all played along talking filth to the hybrid who was being held by Cole.
They got the hybrid out of the amusement park while Lloyd went back in to retrieve Sensei Wu, Nya took the car to get the bounty leaving the four ninjas with the hybrid far from the park. She stood still tied up with her muzzle on next to Cole and Zane avoiding eye contact. They stood once again in silence. Kai was on his phone, Cole looking at the stars above, Jay sat on the damp grass fiddling with his shoelace and Zane starring at the hybrid girl occasionally closing his eyes. Jay, once again, broke the silence," Hey guys do you know when Nya will get here?" Kai shrugged, "I don't know my sister isn't best known for being punctual." Jay chuckled and looked at the earth ninja "Earth to Cole is there anybody up there?" he sniggered. Cole looked down at Jay "Wha-" He said slightly dazed Jay just rolled his eyes and smiled.
Lloyd was walking out of the amusement park, there was still a little panic but otherwise it was a calm atmosphere. He was explaining to Wu what had gone on in the last hour while his Sensei just looked ahead trying to remain calm while listening to the rushed words of his nephew. "Uncle, is everything all right you've been acting a little...distant?" Lloyd asked out of nowhere. Wu sighed and paused for a moment then said without looking at Lloyd, "In time nephew you shall know the truth, but for now not another word." Lloyd looked at Wu in confusion and worry. Then, he bowed and mumbled sweetly, "Yes Sensei." Wu nodded in reply and they continued walking. Inside he thought this hybrid girl could be the reason for his visions, but like he told Nya it is too early to make consumptions.
At that moment, the other ninja could see the bounty in the distance, the hybrid girl, although did not bother to move her head, was planning to run when the human holding her would loosen his grip, so she did not want to see their home or as they call the 'bounty. The others were all stood up ready to get on the bounty and were following its exact movements with their eyes. The bounty landed and they were going to wait for Lloyd and Sensei Wu. "It's about time." Kai sniggered playfully. She just punched him sniggering. Jay smiled dreamily at Nya and she just blushed causing Jay to blush. Cole just sighed in boredom 'how long are they going to be'? Everyone was week and exhausted; they had stayed up all night and now they just wanted to rest.
Lloyd and Sensei were approaching the bounty and they waved in the direction of the ninja who waved back. Cole accidentally letting go of the girl (to wave) and she ran as fast as her weak legs could take her, it was hard to run while being tied up and with a muzzle. The sun was rising now, and she made a grave mistake by looking back because the ninjas were following her the blue one closest to her. She looked forward and stopped in her tracks there was a large lake laying in front of her. This was it she had given up, who knows what the humans will do to her. She may as well enjoy what she thought were her possible last moments. She sat by the lake and watched the sun rise.
The ninja stood about 4 meters from the girl and were mouthing a conversation: what are we going to do? Mouthed Cole this is, so you fault kai mouthed pointing to Cole. While that argument was going on Jay was not joining the others he stared at the girl, he felt pity in his heart, he knew what it felt like to be different (or in his case eccentric). He sighed and walked towards the girl. He sat down beside her starring at the light reflecting in the water, she did not seem to care though. He tapped her on the shoulder she flinched a little then turned to the slightly taller boy. This was the first time he got a good look at her. She did have freckles just like his and her eye was a little off putting but he focused on her ears, they were pretty with the pale blue, grey and black leopard print. It was nice.
The boy on blue sat next to her, they starred into each overs eyes until Jay decided to communicate, I heard you were mute. She starred for a bit then nodded. What's your name, mine is Jay, he spelt out his name. She then raised her gloved hands; they were still tied up. "Oh." he said aloud. He carefully untied her hands trying not to hurt her, it was tightly on, then she removed her muzzle and chucked it a few ft away and spat on it. She looked at her hands then signed My name is Ling, now what do you plan to do with me. Jay tilted his head; we plan to help you. The others still hadn't noticed what Jay was doing apart from Zane and Sensei who were watching and smiling as a friendship was being made.
Help me? She repeated. Jay nodded and smiled, it will be hard for you to live this way, we want to give you a home, our home. She signed Thank you but no thank you I can survive out here. Jay frowned in a friendly way, but what if something like what just happened, happens? He Sighed; he had a point that was very close to getting caught. Prove I can trust you and I will stay. Jay nodded then then thought, and thought and thought until he had it, he took a picture from his sock and showed it to Ling. It had a picture of young Jay with his arm around a mouse hybrid. That was my best friend he signed looking at the floor sadness. She looked up at him and quickly hugged him. The others saw this, and it warmed their hearts.
Thank you he signed; Ling smiled showing her fang no longer self-conscious. "Guys, this is Ling." Jay said standing up, "She will be staying with us for the time being." The rest of the ninja cheered and smiled. Jay introduced Ling to the others, "This is Cole, that is Kai, this pretty young lady is Nya, Lloyd, Sensei Wu and Zane." Ling did not smile at any of them she still did not know they, she didn't trust them. "Now let's get some well-earned sleep." Lloyd said as they headed towards the bounty.
When they got there Ling was cautious and fascinated by the ship. The ninjas were amused by Ling's fascination, then Kai realized something, "Wait, where's Ling going to sleep?" Kai questioned crossing his arms. Nya spoke up, "She can sleep in my room, we can make her a bed from the futons and sheets in the cupboard." They all nodded a little sheepishly (because it was six in the morning).
Sensei, Kai and Cole went to their bedrooms leaving Jay, Nya, Ling and Zane. Jay and Zane got the sheets while Nya and Ling carried the futon, Ling struggled a little she seemed to be week, but Nya helped her, and they assembled the bed. The boys went to their room. "Sorry Ling you're going to have to sleep on your cloves, she nodded they placed down her bag. She sat dead center of her bed and as Nya got dressed in the bathroom, Ling took her tail from round her waist, pulled a sheet into the corner and went to sleep on top of it in a ball like a cat slept. When Nya got back, she found Ling asleep, she noticed her tail. 'A tail?' she thought to herself as she fell into a dreamless sleep.
