Jessie squeezed her daughter tightly.
"Make sure he drives carefully, okay?"
"I will mom."
"And ring me as soon as you get home."
"I will mom."
"Are you sure you don't want to stay the night? The snow's only gonna get heavier, and your room's the same as you left it."
Tiffany gave her a reassuring smile.
"I'm sure. It's only a short drive home anyway, I'll talk to you later."
Jessie gave her a final kiss on the forehead, she couldn't help but worry in the worsening weather. She released her grip on Tiffany and let her hop up into the pickup.
"Don't worry Ms Maye, we'll get home just fine."
The giant in the driver's seat smiled nervously, but that wasn't from the conditions of the road. Jessie leant across the young girl to place a hand on the massive man's arm, turning his face a few shades redder.
"You'd better Jay. I'd hate to have to punish you if anything happened to my baby."
Tiffany's boyfriend just squeaked at her touch. She so enjoyed teasing the poor boy, but he needed to grow a bit of a backbone. Jessie watched them pull away slowly, returning the eager waving Tiffany was giving from the window. Only when the truck turned out of sight did she hurry back into the warm.
The bungalow was still humming softly with the gentle music from the radio. It was quiet, but not unpleasantly so. She surveyed the mess in the living room and kitchen. Despite the evening's fun it was still tidier than normal. There was no passed out Aiko to drag to the bedroom, nor her little pink haired friend trying to follow her in. Jessie smoothed out her dress, a neat little Ms Claus outfit, much more covering than she was used to, and decided any cleaning could wait till tomorrow.
"Have they gone already?"
The voice echoed down the hall from the bedroom.
"Yeah, they got off safe. Tiff's gonna text me when they get home."
Jessie kicked her booties off as she replied. The dinner had been a nice family event, and she'd been the perfectly respectable mother Tiffany had alway wanted, but now she could kick back and get comfy again.
"Aww. I wanted to say goodbye as well."
Jessie giggled at the disembodied voice's fake pout. Lola had been amazing the whole day, especially in the kitchen. Jessie considered herself to be a decent chef, but there was no matching her girlfriend's practiced skill. She'd definitely impressed Tiffany with each course that had appeared on the table, all made days in advance.
"Back to just the two of us."
"Just the way I like it."
The spiced wine sloshed around the glass as she poured the last of the bottle, leaving Lola to whatever she was up to in the bedroom. Jessie flicked open the buttons on her dress as she made her way to the couch, letting the garment fall to the floor before sitting down. She checked the clock as she let the spicy liquor chase the cold from her body. 10 o'clock, what was she doing, still wearing a bra? She rectified that fairly quickly, tossing the lacy white underwear aside. As much as she'd enjoyed playing happy families for Tiffany, this was her natural state. Sitting topless as she drank something strong. It wasn't that she hated it, in fact she was so glad they were finally close enough to spend Christmas together again, but her daughter really needed to loosen up a bit. Jessie couldn't be prouder of the girl, but she worried about how high strung Tiffany could be. She closed her eyes, letting the wine do it's thing as the calming Christmas music flowed over her. She could have drifted off to sleep right there, if not for a more enticing offer.
"Well, fancy unwrapping your present now?"
Lola stood in the doorway to the bedroom, leaning seductively on the frame. A single red ribbon was wrapped around her body, covering just enough to have Jessie craving to see more. She flicked the bow at her chest with a single finger. Jessie couldn't stand it, seeing that shiny satin press into the soft smooth flesh. She drained her glass and stood up. She'd given Tiffany her fairytale Christmas, it was time for Jessie to have her happy holidays.
