Kyanna crept through the mess in the apartment as quietly as she could, heading for the warm spot on the couch next to her beautiful girlfriend. Beli just smiled gently and offered a warm mug.
"He must've gone straight to sleep."
Kyanna returned the smile and took the mug, sliding into her favourite seat and cuddling up to Beli.
"Yeah. He was pretty tuckered out."
Both women sat in comfortable silence for a while. Kyanna sipped her cocoa, still hot on her lips. Beli had been a star for her today. While the Indian woman didn't really celebrate Christmas, she'd spent every second making sure Kyanna and Philip got the most out of the day. From the perfectly cooked lunch (courtesy of Lola's recipes), to how she handled Phily's first Christmas, Kyanna was reminded just how lucky she was to have her. She closed her eyes and leant her head against the larger girl, feeling her chest softly rise and fall. They both knew they had to clean up, but neither of them really wanted to move.
"I suppose we'd better get ready for Phily's birthday next."
"Mmmm."
It was hard for Kyanna to believe he was almost 1 already. From the time she'd turned up on Beli's doorstep to now was like a blur. She set her empty mug down and wrapped her arms around Beli, just enjoying the closeness. Kyanna felt something brush against the back of her next as Beli adjusted herself. Cracking open an eye showed her just a fuzzy purple blob, the same colour as Beli's new scarf. She nuzzled in closer, her face burying in Beli's shoulder as she kissed her next softly. Beli turned herself till she was on her back, pulling Kyanna up on top of her. The Latin woman wasted no time in moving her lips to Beli's, savouring the warm, slightly chocolatey taste in her mouth. If she had one regret in life, it was that she hadn't found Beli sooner. She treated Kyanna like a princess, she was amazing with Philip, and she was probably the nicest person Kyanna had ever met (even beating Tiffany).
Kyanna broke the kiss and went back to leaning on Beli's chest, this time listening to her heart beating slowly. All her pat Christmases, her rowdy family, Claudio's friends interrupting their private time, none of it mattered to her anymore.
"We really should get up."
She pouted up at Beli, to comfy to move.
"We don't have to."
Beli just stroked her hair softly.
"You don't want to set a bad example for Phily, now do you?"
That was unfair using Kyanna's son against her.
"But he's asleep. Let's just lay here."
A smirk formed in the corners of Beli's mouth. She grabbed Kyanna tightly and sat up, stopping the smaller girl from resisting. Kyanna let out a small eep as Beli rose to her feet, bringing her up into a bridal carry. The scarf that was wrapped around the pair of them pulled her close to her massive girlfriend.
"I don't think you quite understand Kyanna. We really should get up, and continue this in the bedroom."
Kyanna wasn't sure which of them was blushing harder, but she wasn't about to pass up Beli's offer. She clung on around Beli's shoulders as the yoga instructor worked her way across the floor with surprising grace for her size. She kissed up and down Beli's neck, breathing deeply the soft lilac scent that always clung to her. She may have wished she'd found Beli sooner, but right there she knew where she belonged.
In Beli's arms, for as long as she could be.
