Juvia has been working for the Fullbuster company for a few months now and it couldn't go better. She was doing great at her job and getting along with her colleagues quite well.

Aside from Cana who she hit it off with from the beginning, she had developed a friendship with a girl called Meredy who worked in a different department. They would often spend their lunch time together and found out they had a lot in common.

Her relationship with Gray on the other hand hasn't developed one bit. He was always too busy. He'd greet her, go into his office and work there the whole day. Sometimes he'd call her in for a quick catching up on the work status but that was about it.

Not that it mattered, he was only her boss after all. Juvia sighed. Who was she kidding? It was irritating her, especially because she'd always get this warm feeling whenever Gray popped up in her mind. She couldn't deny the tiny crush she had developed after all, she couldn't help it. Any girl would fall for him. Juvia thought back to Daphne. After the last incident, Gray convinced Silver to fire her. For Gray she was incompetent, but Juvia knows better. The girl was suffering through the same thing as Juvia. A hopeless crush. Stupid Gray, stupid crush, stupid feelings..

She tried to put her focus back on her work, but to no avail. No matter what, she just found herself staring at his office door again and again. She was going crazy.

"Stare a little harder and he might feel your glare through the door." Cana snickered, eyeing the blunette amused.

"I'm not staring at anything!"

"Right.. of course."

"I'm serious, Cana." Juvia huffed. Cana just eyed her before shaking her head a little.

"Whatever, it's lunch time! You want to go grab something?"

"No actually, I've brought something from home today." Juvia got her lunch box. Yesterday Gajeels girlfriend stayed over, so Juvia cooked a little too much. After one plate said girlfriend had already been stuffed. But Juvia couldn't help it, she was always too excited when someone was over and overdid it a little. Shaking the thought away, Juvia decided to take a break. She wasn't focusing on her work anyway.

"Wow, that looks so good! You made it?"

"Yeah, you want some?"

"Really?"

Juvia nodded, pushing the lunch box in the middle. "Its too much for me anyways."

"Wow, thanks." The girls shared the food, enjoying it silently aside from the hum of approval Cana would give her.

"That was really good. You're amazing. I definelty need more of that!" Cana looked at Juvia with puppy eyes, a small smile playing on her lips. Juvia couldn't help but chuckle at that.

"Tell you what. Why don't you come over tonight? I'll be cooking again anyways. We can eat together."

"That sounds amazing! Count me in. Actually, we'll both be coming!"

"Huh?"

Both? Juvia turned around to see who Cana was looking at and found no other than Gray standing right behind her.

"You're coming too, right?"

"Coming where?"

"To Juvias place. She invited us for dinner."

"Us? Me too? Really?"

Gray seemed genuinely surprised. To be fair, so was Juvia. Gray.. at her place? Oh, dear. And what will Gajeel say? The worst case scenarios came up and Juvia paled just thinking about them.

"Yeah, of course you too. Isn't that right, Juvia?" Cana looked at her with a smirk on her face. Juvia couldn't help the uneasy feeling, but it wasn't like she had much of an option, how rude would it be if she said no now? Besides, she couldn't help but think back to their conversation about home cooked meals when they went to have lunch together on her first day. He did say he didn't have one in a while..

"Um yes, of course you're also invited. I always cook too much anyways." Juvia tried to laugh it off.

"See! So, you're coming?"

"Sure, I can't say no to food. Talking about food, I really should be getting lunch now. I see you two later." He smiled at Juvia before making his way out. She couldn't help but wonder what she has gotten herself into now.

When Juvia arrived home she found Gajeel cuddled up with his girlfriend on the couch. It was an adorable sight, but there was no time for this! So she did what any normal person would do, she got a glass of water and dropped the ice cold liquid on the sleeping guy.

"WHAT THE-" Gajeel didn't finish his sentence and just glared at Juvia, a threatening look on his face. "ARE YOU CRAZY WOMAN, WHAT WAS THAT FOR?"

Juvia just looked at him, waiting patiently for him to calm down. Meanwhile Levy, his girlfriend who Juvia was very fond of, had gotten up and was rubbing her eyes, trying to shake the sleepiness away.

"We have guests tonight. My friend Cana is coming over. And she is bringing Gray along with her."

"Wait. Gray? As in your boss Gray?"

"Exactly!"

"Why?" Gajeel looked at her dumbfounded. To his credit, it's not every day you invite your boss over for dinner at your place. Actually, it's not any day. The longer Juvia thought about it, the more she freaked out. Really, what was she thinking? This was bound to be a disaster. Gajeel gave her look before shaking his head in disbelief.

"Alright woman, don't hyperventilate. What do you need me to do?"

"Yes, I want to help too." Levy came to stand next to Gajeel. "What can I do?"

"Thank you so much! I'll be stuck in the kitchen, but can you two make sure the place looks presentable? I really don't want to leave a bad impression.."

"Don't worry Juvia, we got this!" With that Levy pulled Gajeel away. Juvia smiled at the two before making her way over to the kitchen and starting with the food.

A few hours had passed and Juvia was still working in the kitchen. She was just starting on the desserts when her phone ringed. She glanced at the caller ID and found Canas name on the screen.

"Hello?"

"Hey, girl! I'll make it quick, I need to cancel. I'm really sorry, something important came up!"

"What, but I.." Juvia looked at the food she had been preparing. What a waste of time..

"I'm really sorry, I promise I'll make it up to you."

"No, it's fine. I'll bring you something along tomorrow."

"Thank you, you're the best Juvia!"

"Sure, no problem." Juvia tried to hide her disappointment as good as possible. She had been really looking forward to this. She wasn't exactly one who had a lot of friends, aside from the few she had back at Phantom, but she lost contact with most, so having someone over meant a lot to her. It was stupid, really..

"..with Gray." Juvia was shaken out of her thoughts when she heard Canas voice. She didn't realize she was still talking and only catched the last words.

"What?"

"I told you have fun with Gray."

"Gray?"

"Yeah, he should be there around 7."

"Gray is still coming?"

"Of course, why wouldn't he?"

"Because you said that-"

"That I'm not coming.. that doesn't have anything to do with Gray. He's still coming."

"Oh.. okay. Does he know you're not coming?"

"Nope, you can tell him that yourself sweetheart."

"You can't be serious Cana.."

"I'm always serious. Alright, have fun you two. And use protection my sweet baby girl."

"Cana!" She heard the brunette laughing before she ended the call.

It took Juvia a moment to register what Cana just told her. Gray.. was coming. By himself?

Great, now Juvia had all this fantasies running through her head. Damn you, Cana!

She put her focus back on the desserts, trying to keep her mind of the raven haired man. A little later she heard the door bell ring.

"I'll get it!"

"Gajeel, no!" But she was too late. Juvia stood at the kitchen door, looking at Gajeels back which was covering her view on the person standing on the doorway.

"Uh, hello?" Gray found himself looking up to a big, dark haired guy who was giving him a death glare.

"Fullbuster." He didn't say much more, but it was all Gray needed to hear in order to know that this was going to be a long evening.

"Um, yes.. and you are?"

"Redfox. Gajeel Redfox."

"Nice to meet you." Gajeel was still glaring at him and it was becoming more awkward with the time. He was just about to say something when a blunette popped up next to him. Grays face immediately lit up, his smile faltered though when he realized that it was the wrong shade of blue. Too light.

"Excuse my rude boyfriend." She glared up to said person before turning to him with a smile. "He doesn't do well with new people. I'm Levy, it's nice to meet you- Gray!?"

"Hey.. it's been a while, hasn't it?"

"Yeah, you could say that.. wait, what are you doing here? Don't tell me your Juvias Gray?"

Did she just say Juvias Gray? He couldn't help the blush creeping up on his cheeks. Thankfully, Gajeel interrupted his thoughts.

"You know him?"

"Yeah, we went to Fairy Tail together. We were in the same group of friends, but we kind of lost contact over time. How have you been? What stupid question, I know how you've been, I see you in every magazine. It's really crazy.."

"Calm down, woman! He's not that special."

"Gajeel!"

"What?"

"Don't be so rude!"

Great, now he was stuck in some kind of marriage spat. He glanced at Levy. It's been a while since he last saw her. The woman hasn't changed much, same hair, same size. Although she seems to be a little feistier than before. But looking at her boyfriend he wasn't surprised she had turned this way.

"Who you're staring at?" The two seemed to have finished their discussion and Gajeel was back to glaring at Gray. He couldn't help but sigh. Why was he doing this again?

In the corner of his eye, he saw another blunette, an amused smile decorating her face. She must have felt his eyes on her because shortly after she turned towards him. When she realized he was staring at her, she lowered her head. But he still saw the blush on her cheeks. The thought that he affected her like this pleased him for some reason.

Now he remembered why he was doing this. It was for her. And because he needed to figure out what it was that made him feel so different every time he was around her. And if he needs to spend an evening with a guy who seems to want him dead, said guys girlfriend, his alcohol addicted friend and the girl that has been occupying his mind in order to do that, then so be it.
