Author's Note: Thanks to the people who have been reading my stories and reviewing, it's very helpful. ( Yes, I named Foxface Arinya.)
Chapter Two: Strange Places, Stranger Happenings
Plo Koon's POV:
I could sense the hatred and jealousy radiating from the tribute named Clove, as she spat out," 13 is history Everdeen, as you're going to be when we return to the Hunger Games." " That is quite enough, Clove. I will not allow you to kill her." I said sternly. The tribute looked at me, surprised. "How do you know my name?" she demanded. "I read your mind through the force." The red headed tribute named Arinya looked at me cautiously," is that what you used to pull Clove off of Rue?" I looked at Arinya, noting the fact that she was incredibly intelligent for her age," yes, that is what I used."
"Katniss," Thresh said," if you don't let General Plo Koon help Rue, she is going to die.""He is right," I informed her gravely," we have medical supplies aboard our ship, if you let me take her there, she will live." Suddenly I sensed the presence of the Sith acolyte, Asajj Ventress. I stood up, and activated my lightsaber. " I see that you led General Kenobi on a wild goose chase," I said, rather impressed with her ruse. " You let us believe that the Separatists were retreating off of Alderaan." " Look who we have here," the assassin sneered," Plo Koon babysitting children."
Peeta Mellark's POV:
I discreetly reached for a discarded sword, planning to attack the bald headed woman with it. Whoever she was, she was an enemy of General Koon, who had offered to help Rue. I couldn't afford to let Katniss down anymore than I already had. So I picked up the sword, only to find myself being choked by an invisible hand. The woman walked toward me and activating her two lightsticks in a menacing way. They were red. General Koon ran toward me, but he was too late. I felt a searing pain in my abdomen, and looking down, I saw a strangely curved handle protruding from my body. I then heard Katniss scream my name," PEETA!"
Katniss's POV:
The woman's glowstick, which was evidently a sword pierced Peeta's stomache. "PEETA!" I screamed at the top of my lungs, and ran towards him. The woman deactivated the blade and reactivated it barely in time to assist her other sword in blocking General Plo Koon's. She flipped over him and ran. "Wait!" Shouted Cato," I want to come with you!" And he ran after her. "Cato! Are you crazy?!" I yelled at him. He didn't listen to me. I watched the two jump onto a hovercraft and leave. Plo Koon gave up his pursuit of the enemy and went to check on Peeta. He was dead. I stood in a stunned silence. Even the other tributes were at a loss for words. Looking at General Plo Koon I said through my tears," you can take Rue to your ship. Please save her." I pleaded.
Plo Koon's flagship; Obi-Wan Kenobi's POV: ( Roughly 2 hours later)
I looked at the 12 year old girl named Rue , who was floating in the bacta tank, with sorrow. So young, yet she was forced to fight in an arena to the death against other teenagers. It was a cruel way to enforce the Capital's rule. Master Plo Koon had briefed me on it, and I had felt my heart breaking. I had noticed that he was also horrified by it. Sensing his presence, I turned slightly to face him. "We must give our report to the council," he stated. "What about the teenagers?" I inquired, refusing to call them tributes. One might as well call them sacrifices. "Wolffe and Cody have agreed to watch them." I nodded, then followed the Jedi master to the bridge, where Admiral Yularen waited.
The hologram of the council popped up, and I held my breath. " Masters Koon, Kenobi," Yoda greeted," the blockade of Alderaan, defeated it you have. Found something strange on the planet's surface you did, tell us more about this you will." I wasn't the least bit surprised that Yoda had sensed something unusual about the battle. Turning my attention to Master Plo, I listened about intently to the story that he was sharing. "And where did these tributes come from?" Mace Windu asked interrupting Plo. I frowned," both master Koon and I believe that they do not come from this galaxy." "Evidently," Ki- Adi Mundi said," the place that they come from is very barbaric. Not somewhere that anyone would want to visit." "You will bring them to Coruscant, and there we will examine them. If what Master Plo Koon has said about them being very strong with the force is true, then we have made a very dangerous enemy out of Cato." Windu said.
Wolffe's POV:
Cody and I had only been watching these teenagers for about 20 minutes, and they were already Proving to be trouble. We had discovered that Clove had a rather impressive array of knives hidden in her jacket, which she had attempted to kill Katniss with. Arinya, who I had learned had been nicknamed Foxface by Everdeen ( for good reason too) had stealthy disarmed all of the clones guarding the dining hall, Cody and I included. I was rather relieved when my general, and Obi-Wan Kenobi had walked in. Plo Koon had a rather amused look on his face, when he saw that the red headed girl had stockpiled the guns in a corner. He held out his hand toward her," alright Arinya, give the clones their weapons back."
Thresh's POV:
Although I was worried about Rue, I was comforted by knowing she was in good hands. The clone medic had told me that she would make a complete recovery. I entertained myself by watching Arinya steal the weapons from the clones. I was in a strange place, where there were even stranger happenings, but for some reason I wasn't afraid. I knew though that Cato would pose a threat to the Jedi, I overheard General Kenobi discussing it with Cody. He was force sensitive, we all were. I also learned that the bald headed woman was an assassin named Asajj Ventress. Apparently she was trained by someone named Count Dooku, Dooku was the person who had started to what had been referred to as the Clone Wars.
