Chapter Three: Meeting Aliens
Rue's POV:
I woke up in a strange room -that looked like a hospital, with Katniss standing over me. Sitting up groggily, I inquired," where are we? What happened? Last I remember, I had been impaled by a spear. We're not dead, are we?" I looked around the room, suspiciously. Katniss chuckled softly," no, you're not dead, though you probably should be. Had General Koon not arrived when he did, we probably would all be." I detected a hint of sadness in her voice," someone died, was it Peeta?"
I winced inwardly, when I saw Katniss's reaction. Quickly changing the subject, I asked her who General Koon was. She recounted the past three days, which I have absolutely no memory of. " So these Jedi are like sorcerers?" "Well …" She replied hesitantly," they use this thing called the force. It may or may not be magic." We Jumped
at the sound of knocking on the door. Neither of us could help it, it was instinct. The Hunger Games had drilled it into us. "Come in," Katniss called out.
A woman with dark skin, wearing a headdress, entered the room. " Hello Katniss," she said," ah, Rue, I see that you are awake now. My name is Stass Allie, I am currently your assigned healer." I looked nervously at Katniss, and she nodded reassuringly toward me. From all appearances, this woman was nice; but I learned long ago not to trust a person based off of their appearance. "Hi?" I squeaked out, uncertainly.
Arinya's (a.k.a Foxface's ) POV:
It was my turn to enter the council chamber for an evaluation. As I walked in, I was tempted to downplay my skill as I had done for the gamemakers, but something told me that that would be strategically unwise. I awkwardly bowed toward the Jedi masters. The masters were studying cautiously, with interest. "So," the loud voice of master Windu boomed out (I had met him earlier [ although I hadn't particularly liked him])," I'm going to be looking at a datapad, and you're going to tell me what I am looking at. Ready?" I nodded my head. Master Windu picked up a datapad that had been lying on the armrest of his chair, and turned it on. The members of the council looked at me expectantly.
Plo Koon's POV:
I watched Arinya as she narrowed her eyes in confusion. The girl operated with logic, and what Windu had just told her to do, was not logical in her eyes. We all saw the lightbulb in her head go off, she closed her eyes and began listing off random objects. "A ship, Master Yoda, Master Yaddle, a lightsaber, a crystal." She trailed off as she noticed that we were looking at her intently," what? Her name was Yaddle, wasn't it?" "And just how did you know that, young One?" I asked. She shrugged her shoulders casually," oh, I read it in the archives after I finished reading Master Jocasta Nu's book on the Old Republic.
I exchanged glances with the other masters,"You read all of that in 3 hours? That book Madame Jocasta wrote is really long." "1,000 pages to be exact," Ki- Adi Mundi put in drily," Master Yoda made me read the entire thing when I was a padawan." Yoda chuckled evilly," always misbehaving you were."
( Time skip, 1 hour later)
Rue's POV:
I was being escorted by Stass Allie to what she called the council chambers. Along the way I saw strange alien beings. Stass noticed me look at her for an explanation," they're come for different parts of the galaxy. We don't discriminate by species." she said. We entered the room the council met in. Beings of many different species sat on chairs which were lined in a circle ( Author's Note: I know that last part sounds strangely contradictory). Shyly, I hid behind my healer.
"Hello, Rue." One of the council members said. He was human, had red hair and beard, and blue eyes. "Hello. You must be master Obi-Wan Kenobi." I replied. He tilted his head," that I am." I looked at a diminutive Jedi, who looked like he was really wise," are you the head of the Jedi?" "Yoda, I am, Grandmaster of this order my role is." I must have looked really confused at his pattern of speech, for the rest of the councilors laughed. "It's fine, little one. Master Yoda always talks like that." Kenobi said.
