My version of the tail end of the war with Phantom Lord.

Natsu and Gajeel are not a couple, yet.

'Something's wrong' I got one of those feelings again, and they're never wrong. I teleported behind the stack of crates in the safehouse. Reedus was unconscious and those Phantom bastards were about to grab Luce.

I moved from my hiding spot, grabbed Luce by her elbow, and pulled her behind me. She said something I didn't pay any attention to, too focused on the three in front of us. I noticed a shift in Blacksteels eyes, they changed to those of a dragon I knew. Then he said something in Draconic, "Speak of your future and it shall become your will to live". There's only a few people who know that, only three with black hair and red eyes.

I felt my heart skip a beat. "That's impossible" I muttered under my breath.

"'s good to see you too Natsu" he said.

"Gajeel what the hell are you doing. Waste that fairy and lets go" the guy almost yelled.

"No. I'm done" Gajeel muttered.

"What" the girl growled.

"I said 'I'm done'" Gajeel attacked, knocking them both out, then looked me in the eye and said, "I'm sorry for all of this". The guild mark on his shoulder turned blood red. He almost screamed in pain, grabbing his shoulder, and collapsed to his knees. I crouched down next to him and put my hand on his, burning away as much of the dark magic as i could. His breathing leveled out and he calmed down.

"Thanks" he whispered. I just hummed in response.

"Natsu, what's going on" Luce asked.

"We don't have time right now Luce. You need to get out of here" I stood up and summoned Delma, my wolf guardian, "Delma, take her to Evrens' den" the she-wolf nodded.

"Who's Evren Natsu" Luce questioned.

"A friend, he'll keep you safe 'till this is over" I pushed her toward the back door. She followed Delma without anymore questions, thankfully.

"We need to go Natsu" Gajeel stood up.

"I know" we got back in time to stop another shot from the Jupiter canon. We cast 'Guardian wall', successfully stopping the attack. Lets just say Jóse was not happy, especially when he noticed Gajeel.

"Gajeel, how dare you disobey me"Jóses' voice boomed.

"I'm tired of being your attack dog" Gajeel yelled, "All the pain and suffering you put me through, I won't take it anymore". I felt my blood catch fire hearing that. The mark on his shoulder turned red again again and he grabbed his shoulder. My magic reached out and burned away more of Jóses' magic. He nodded at me and I did the same.

"Where's Zhelyasko" I asked in Draconic, to make sure the rest of the guild behind us couldn't cut in.

"He's chained up in the dungeon, under the guild hall" he said. I turned to Arien, a Wood elf, and gave him a nod. Telling him to go with Gajeel to free Zhel. He called Tilanna, his Griffin, and mounted her saddle. I turned me and Gajeel into phoenix, fire and iron.

We ignored the guild and took off toward Phantoms' guild hall. We split off when we got close, I went to take out the canon while Gajeel and Arien went a different direction.

Gajeel

We flew along the rock toward where I knew the dungeon was. I stopped and hovered near a thin wall of rock I could break through. Arien stopped Tilanan next to me and waited. I charged up my Iron Dragon Roar and blasted the wall. It collapsed quickly, Tilanna flew in and took out the few 'guards' there. I turned back and unlocked the door. Big, thick chains were attacked to the walls and floor. Heavy cuffs hung all over my dragons body, the chains kept him pinned to the ice cold floor. He must've noticed the light from the hallway coming through the door. He growled, a sound I haven't heard in a while, his eye still closed.

"Easy Zhel, it's me" I whispered. His brown eye snapped open.

"Gajeel" I heard his voice in my head.

"Yea, it's me Zhel" I smiled at my dragon. He tried to get up but the chains kept him down. "Hang on" I used my metal bending to try and break the cuffs, surprisingly it worked. Zhel stood up and shook, I heard multiple pops through out his body. He pushed his large head into my chest, purring like I've never heard him before.

A bang rang through the building, along with what felt like an earthquake. Natsu must've destroyed the canon and beat which ever sorry son ova bitch guarding the damn thing.

"Sounds like Natsus' getting shit done" Arien said from the door.

" Yup. Hey get Zhel outta here" I told the Wood elf, Zhel automatically tried to argue, but I didn't let him. Besides, he needs to stretch his wings for the first time in four years. He gave in pretty quick. He took off through to door, the hole in the wall and into the air with Arien and Tilanna following.

Third

Gajeel made his way through the guild hall, following the bangs from a fight. He got there in time to see Erza beat Aria.

"Shouldn't you be resting Scarlet" the Requip mage turned to attack the black haired Dragon.

"Easy Erza, he's on our side" Natsu stopped the red head. She gave Natsu a look before collapsing, the Fire Dragon caught her before she hit the ground.

"I could've handled that guy on my own Erza" he reprimanded the woman. Gray, Elfman and Mira ran through the door before she could say anything.

"What the hell is he doing here" Gray growled, glaring at Gajeel.

"You weren't kidding about your guild not liking outsiders" he said.

"Have I ever lied to you" Natsu moved Erza near the door while he talked.

"True" Gajeel chuckled.

A strong force of magic stopped the three humans from saying else to the two dragons. Gajeel knew that magic presence like he knew his own. It's been giving him nightmares for the past four years.

"He's coming" he muttered. Natsu was already tense, but hearing the fear in his voice set off every alarm in his head.Jóse made his way down the stairs, saying things that made Natsu angrier and angrier.Jóse attacked, Natsu burned away the magic before it could hit his friends. If his guildmates weren't there he would've set the SOB on fire and killed him. Especially with how hard he's glaring at the Wizard Saint.

"Natsu, don't" Gajeel could feel the killing intent rolling off him, "He's not worth it".

"I won't kill him Gajeel, just make him pay for what he's done" he growled, his fire covering his arms. Seeing Natsus' bright orange flames helped Gajeel snap out of it. His own magic flared as he glared at the man that caused him so much pain, his eyes glowing green.

The two dragons attacked,Jóse just barely kept up. He knocked the two back, making them land near the humans. Gray and Elfman tried to jump in but Natsu wouldn't let them, attackingJóse again with Gajeel. When they got knocked back again,Jóse used the mark on Gajeels' shoulder to make him feel the worst pain he's felt in awhile.

"AHH" he yelled, collapsing to the ground.

"Gajeel!" fear lased into Natsus' voice. He casted a shield spell to protect himself and Gajeel. He helped the other Dragon Slayer to cover with the others. Gajeel was having problems trying to breathe. Natsu set him against the wall and tried to burn away the last of the the magic, but the spell was too strong.

"I can't burn away the magic" he muttered sadly.

"Don't... worry... about me. Just... make th... that bastard... suffer" Gajeel growled, stopping multiple times.

Zhelyasko made the hole in the wall bigger and beat Natsu to blastingJóse. The dragon let up after a minute, a bright light appearing next to him. The light died down to reveal Mokarov.

"Gramps" Natsu and Gray yelled.

"You kids get out of here" the master ordered.

"You sure about that master" Mira asked.

"As long as you make him pay" Natsu said, Helping Gajeel up. Mokarov nodded to the 17yr old Slayer. Zhel hepled the two Slayers and their friends onto his back, then took off, back to land.

"Where's Lucy" Cana asked after Makorov cast 'Fairy law'.

"Safe with a friend" Evren slithered out of the woods behind Natsu after he said that (he looks like Ophiuchus). Lucy jumped off the titan snakes' back, landing on her feet.

"Thanks for keeping her safe Ev" Natsu put hid hand on the snakes nose.

"Aye! Always good to see you Evy" Happy flew over Natsus' shoulder. Evren rumbled softly deep in his throat.

"You can go home" Natau said softly. Evren turned and slithered back into the forest.

It's been a week since our 'war' with Phantom ended. The Rune Knights showed up the next day, I'm sure a few people were surprised when I didn't try to run. After all of us were questioned about the guild war we were able to get back to rebuilding the guild hall.

My alarm woke me up, Rivin usually does but he's been busy the past two weeks. I got up and got dressed in ripped jeans, combat boots, plain black tee, and grey jacket. I turned my scarf into a choker with some morph magic. Happy woke up after I scratched his head. After some food we headed to the guild, taking our time gettin' there. The first time I showed up dressed like this everyone looked at me like I had two heads.

"Morning Natsu" Miras' voice broke my thoughts.

"Mornin' Mira" Happy was still too sleepy to respond to her.

"I've been meaning to ask but what's with the new style"

"Just felt like I needed a change" I put Happy on the bar, so I could work without having to worry about him.

Around noon I took a break with Happy. I saw a large body with black hair watching me from a dark spot near the door. I couldn't help the smirk on my lips. I got up and Happy followed me outside to a secluded spot near the guild. A strong pair of arms wrapped around my shoulders.

"Hey Gajeel" I smiled.

"Hey Spitfire" I chuckled at the old nickname.

"I can't believe you still remember that" he chuckled at me.

"Of course I do, I'm the one who gave it to ya" he let me go and I turned around.

"And your the only one I let call me that" I chuckled. I saw the sadness in his eyes and knew why, "You're leaving aren't you" I said sadly.

"Just for a bit, I still need to get used to a few things" he explained.

"I'm not gonna force you to stay, but please come back soon"

"I will, I promise" he hugged me tight and I did the same. He flew away on Zhel after. Then the whole thing with Loke happened and we went to that resort.
