I was just so over all of this crap. I couldn't even make sense of how I felt at this point, it was a pretty good mixture of pain, fear, anger, and frustration. Did he really think that when I thought about being 'normal', he wasn't included? How could he think I could just walk away from him now? Hadn't I shown him how much I loved him? Hadn't I been as accepting as possible throughout this entire ordeal?
I was still fuming when I pulled into Leah's driveway, and she met me at the door. She let me cry on her shoulder for a good hour before she start insisting I actually say something, but I couldn't figure out a way to talk to her without telling her things I wasn't allowed to tell her. I went ahead and told her that Jacob had come back to me Friday night, but since then I had found out there was this crazy stalker guy after me, I told her about the pictures and that I had found out that there was a very good chance that he had other people trying to help him get to me. Then I told her how after Jake had brought me back here, he basically told me I could leave him if I wanted. She had been silent the entire time I was talking, but when I mentioned this she jumped up and started pacing.
"I can't fucking believe him!" She roared. Then she stopped and stared straight at me, with the most feral look in her eyes. "I'm gonna kill that son-of-a-bitch." She spat out, and then whipped out of the room. Although I expected her to get mad, I felt like threatening his life at this point was a little overkill, so I went running after her.
"Wait, Leah, stop!" I caught up with her outside the front door and grabbed her wrist, and immediately pulled it back away from her.
Oh God, please no. Not her too.
She was on fire. She whipped her head around and looked at me in anger.
"What Bella? You just want me to let him walk all over you like this? You want him to hurt you like Sam hurt me?" She was up in my face now, and with every step back I took, she took another one forward. I knew she was close to losing it, and even though I didn't know exactly what happened when they did lose it, I was pretty sure I didn't need to be this close to her when she did.
"Leah," I said calmly. "Please, you need to calm down."
"Calm down?!" She screeched. "You come here in tears, and now I'm the one that should calm down?" She started shaking, like tremors were shooting through her, but she didn't even seem to notice. My back was up against the house, and I couldn't get away. All I could think of was how big those wolves had been when I had seen them in the woods, and with her this close, and this angry, I doubted I would come away unhurt. Her breathing suddenly got erratic and I closed my eyes, bracing for whatever was going to happen next. But instead of pain, I heard a roar, and she was gone from in front of me. I looked to see two wolves now standing in the yard facing each other, and no Leah.

I was pacing, livid after everything the leeches had just told me. It turned my stomach that Bella had been so close to this bloodsucker who craved her so bad, and it made me want to rip out the throats of everyone I could find, knowing that because I hadn't been there, she had been attacked by that piece of shit. I had no doubt that whenever I found him, he would not survive the encounter. The female spoke up after a few minutes.
"That's not the worst part." I stopped and looked at her. "We recently found out that he doesn't plan on killing her, or even turning her. He plans on…...keeping her." She said the last part, her voice dripping with contempt and disgust. I roared out just thinking about the possibility of her being 'kept' by him.
"What do you mean?" I said through clenched teeth.
"One of our coven, she can see the future. She has seen him keeping her as a prisoner, or a 'pet'. He has a house somewhere hidden, and she wouldn't be able to leave. He would keep her there, have her live out her whole life there."
"THAT IS NOT HER FUTURE!" I roared out, coming very close to losing it, barely holding on.
"Unless we kill him, it will be." The male spoke up. "He could have taken her anytime he wanted, we don't know why he's been playing with us for so long, why he's dragged this out, but now that he knows we're on to him, I don't think he'll play his games much longer."
"He was in Port Angeles." The female said quickly.
"What?" I said with a growl.
"Like I told her, we've been watching out for her, keeping an eye on him. We were there at the mall and saw him, and Emmett had words with him. He let him know in no uncertain terms that there were no options left anymore, Emmett would kill him himself if given the chance."
"It took every bit of control I had to not rip him apart right there in the mall." The male grumbled.
I looked over at the male, and then the female again, suspicious.
"Why? Why do you care? I mean, if this guy was in your coven, why do you not have loyalty for him instead of some random human." The male growled, and I narrowed my gaze at him, daring him to do something. The female touched his arm and he relaxed a bit.
"She's not just a random human." She said softly. She's Emmett's great-great niece."
I just looked at him in disbelief, his gaze didn't waver.
"Wha...how do you know?" I asked, still suspicious.
"Charlie Swan's family is from the southeast. Tennessee to be exact. My brother's daughter, was Bella's grandmother. She married Thomas Swan, and they had a son, Charlie. Thomas was in the military, and was eventually stationed in Seattle. When he retired, they moved to Forks. And that's where Charlie decided to stay. I've always checked in on them throughout the years, and ever since Charlie's death, I haven't been far. Ever wonder why his killer was never found? I hated I wasn't here to protect him, but I'll be damned if I'm gonna let something happen to Bella. Even though I've been long dead, I still want to make sure my family is taken care of, so, no. Bella is not some random human, and this, for me, absolutely takes precedence over some psycho in a coven."
I still had my suspicions, I don't know that I could ever fully trust them, but I felt like I should maybe give them the benefit of the doubt, even though I would definitely still keep my guard up around them.
I suddenly had an unexplained feeling of fear and dread come over me, and shortly after, it was followed by several long howls, echoing through the woods. Without another word, I phased and ran fast back toward the rez. I was searching through the pack's minds, trying to see if I could see what had happened. I could only catch bits and pieces, since it was all second-hand thoughts, but from some of those bits and pieces I could see Bella's face, and she looked absolutely terrified. I couldn't tell from what point of view or why she was scared, everything kept changing before I could get a grasp on it. I ran as fast as I could until I got to the treeline behind Leah's house. Leah was up in Bella's face screaming at her, but I could see her body, the way she was trembling, and I could feel it in my mind, she was getting ready to phase.
And she was going to kill Bella in the process.
I ran full speed toward her and slammed into her full force just as she phased. She let out a roar, and tumbled across the yard. I stayed right in front of Bella, making sure Leah didn't come anywhere near her. I turned slightly to look at her out of the corner of my eye, and other than being in complete shock of what just happened, she seemed physically fine. I stayed there as the rest of the wolves walked slowly into the yard, each one of us warily watching Leah, preparing for her reaction.

What.
The hell.
Just.
Happened.
One minute, I'm standing in front of Bella, screaming in her face uncontrollably, and the next, I felt like lightning just shot through me. I remember screaming when I felt like my body was stretching and breaking, and then I remember I had gotten hit hard from the side, and felt myself rolling on the ground, and then jumping up to all four feet.
All four feet?
I looked down to where my hands were and there were two huge paws instead. I tried looking at the rest of my body, but all I could see was fur. I tried screaming but all that came out was roars and growls.
"Leah, it's ok."
I heard that voice, I knew that voice, but I couldn't see him. I turned around to look, and was faced with a gigantic wolf, with others not far behind him. I immediately started growling at him, although I'm still not sure how I growled at him.
"Leah, it's me." The voice said much softer. "Look at me Leah, you know me. Look at me."
I brought my eyes up to his, and everything stopped. Everything I thought I had known before slipped away, and suddenly everything made sense, all because of him. How had I not seen it before? I felt myself calm and relax, and felt my body shudder, and somehow I was changed back to my human self. He did the same. We stood there just looking at each other, me trying to figure out how I had never seen him like this before. He was everything to me, and now I knew what I had been missing all this time. Everything I thought I had had with Sam paled fiercely in comparison to what I now felt for him. I saw a small smile cross his face, and he held out his hand to me.
"Come on, I'll explain everything." He walked me back into my house, completely oblivious of everyone else staring in our direction.
