Before Canterlot High, Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash were best friends since elementary. It all started because Fluttershy was being bullied by the other kids since Fluttershy herself wasn't the best at sports or any of the games they played, but then came Rainbow Dash who defended her honor.
At the time, Fluttershy felt like a princess being saved by her prince, and in all honesty, it kind of felt like that until they entered Canterlot High.
Though it was revealed that Sunset was behind their separation, Fluttershy realized that she shouldn't have thought of Rainbow as her 'prince,' that maybe Fluttershy should try to be more to Rainbow than a damsel in distress, more than just helping her out.
"Hey, wait, what's going on?" Rainbow said, confused as she found herself shoved into a cafeteria seat from the very moment she entered the room.
"Shhh..." Pinkie shushed her, eating from a big popcorn bucket.
Rainbow looked on in confusion as the cafeteria seemed to be converted to a makeshift sage as the lights turned off.
She looked at Granny Smith through the darkness, and she seems to be giving a thumbs up to Rarity.
Flashlights act like spotlights as they hit the entrance. Rainbow could see people waiting in ant while she watches in confusion herself.
Through the door, Fluttershy came out. Despite having stage fright, Fluttershy didn't batt an eye at the crowd and instead head for Rainbow.
Dressed in red and black princely garb, Fluttershy seemed to be a different person, and she even have a sword... that might be fake?
Just as Fluttershy approaches, Rainbow realized that she pretty much have the only front row view of this, or rather, Rainbow wasn't part of the audience but she's the main focus to the whole show.
Fluttershy bowed on one knee and stared straight into her eyes. "Rainbow Dash..."
Rainbow found herself holding her breathe.
"Will you go out on a date with me?"
Rainbow felt like she just choked on air as she could feel everyone's eyes in her, on them. Her mouth felt dry, but she was able to speak, somehow. "Yeah, sure."
Even though it was inelegant as possible, people cheered as Fluttershy softly smiled.
"Well, then I'll see you on Friday afternoon?"
Rainbow slowly nodded.
People cheered as Rainbow stared at Fluttershy leaving the cafeteria. Vice Principal Luna clapped her hands and said, "Alright, alright, now that you have your fun. You better fix the room."
"Alright, alright, breathe... breathe..." Rarity patted Fluttershy's back as the pink-haired girl breathe in and out from a paper bag. "Are you okay?"
Fluttershy leans against a locker as a big smile spread across her face. "Absolutely!"
