Background info:
It was that time of year again where the gods of Asgard met with the gods of Olympus. There would be fun, games, drinking contests, and Artemis's favorite the hunting retreat. Where four gods, two from each family/pantheon, would go out and hunt some of the more dangerous monsters. She, Apollo, and Athena had friends that were in the Norse beliefs. Well mostly her, Apollo and Hamdal got on well, same with Athena and Freya. Artemis believe it or not got on really with the All Fathers sons; Thor and Loki.
Third person POV on Olympus:
Artemis was sleeping peacefully when there was a loud knocking on her door followed by voices; "Artemis wake up!" She just groaned and rolled over. She recognized the voice: Hera her stepmom. At first the two never got along but over the past years Hera had acted more motherly and kind, pretty much adopting Artemis and her half siblings. "Artemis, get out of bed or I'm coming in there and pouring cold water on you!" This time it was her older sister; Athena. She muttered something incoherent and went back to sleep.
"Artemis come on we only have 6 hours till the Norse get here" Apollo said through the door. That woke her up, the Norse, meaning her friends, Loki! Thor! Sif! "I'm up" she called to them. Getting ready was easy. She got out of bed, picked out her clothes, a white tunic that went to her knees, black tights (yes I know they didn't have those back then but just pretend), and boots.
She took a nice shower washed her hair and body, and shaved her legs. She was deciding what to do with her hair. She had long thick auburn hair that was a pain in the butt unless it was tied back. She went with a fishtail braid going down over right shoulder. When she was done she checked the time, good, she still had five hours.
When she went down stairs she saw the rest of her family. "Artemis, out of bed at last I see" Zeus said with a small smile. She rolled her eyes in response. She was a night owl and usually an early riser. "So the plan is once the Norse get here and settled in, we will have the welcoming feast at night, then go from there I guess" Zeus announced. "Okay i have a feeling that this is something that you all know but I'm going to say it anyway; there will be no crude jokes cracked, no smart ass comments made, no pranks or stunts pulled. Am I clear?" Hera said. They all nodded, not that it will stop some of them.
Third person POV on Asgard:
"THOR! LOKI! WAKE THE HELLHAIM UP!" Odin's voice rang through the palace like a cannon. "I'm up! I'm up, jeez dad you don't have to yell" came the groggy voice of Loki, as he came out of his room out into the hall. Thor just kept snoring. Rolling his eyes at his big brother Loki summoned a bucket of water straight from Yotoanhaim and duped it on Thor's head. "Gahh!" Thor cried out. "Dad wants us Thunder Drum" Loki told him. Grumbling about brothers and dads who wake up to dam early he got up and he walked to the kitchen with Loki. "Alright my boy's today we're going to Olympus for the annual games" Odin proclaimed. Thor choked on his food and Loki spit out his coffee. "I thought that was tomorrow!" Thor exclaimed. "I told you this yesterday as well son" Odin deadpanned.
The royal sons of Odin scrambled to get ready. After about an hour they came out of their rooms dressed in something fancy yet comfortable. They then had to go change again when their mom said something other than that. After what seemed like forever they were ready to go to Olympus.
Going to Olympus was something Thor and Loki didn't mind as they were friends with Artemis and her twin brother Apollo. When they were kids they would hang out together, play pranks, and ride the horses. Thor and Apollo usually spared while Loki and Artemis would either ride horses, read, or sometimes swim.
The group going to Olympus was Odin, Frigg, Thor, Loki, Hamdal, Freyr, Freyja, Sif, and the warriors of three. After going to the portal room, they traveled through the one that would take them to Olympus.
Olympus was buzzing with life and enough energy to power Miami, the children of Zeus were all chased to go get into the fancy clothes they had been given. Once they all came out they did look like royalty. Ares had a blood red cape over a dark red tunic with leather pants like what a prince wore and black boots, Athena had a white and gold dress that dragged on the floor with her hair done in a fancy bun and a crown of laurels in her hair, Hermes had on a similar thing as ares except his capes was green and his tunic dark green, Hephaestus similar thing as his brothers but instead ove a cape he had on a brown waistcoat and brown tunic, Apollo looked most like a prince; he had on a white tunic with tan pants, a royal blue cape and brown boots, Artemis had on a sky blue dress that dragged on the floor but instead of just sky blue it ombré down the royal blue she had a silver cord around her waist and and same as Athena, a crown of laurels in her hair she decided to leave her hair down for now.
"Dang Arty, when was the last time you wore a dress?" Hephaestus questioned "A long, long, long time ago, I don't like them" she replied. A horn blew signaling that the guests were almost here. "Get in your places!" Hera called out. They got into their assigned place. There was a flash then the chosen gods stepped out of the portal. "Zeus! My old friend, how nice to see you again. And Hera you look lovely" Odin said. "It's nice to see you, Odin. How's everything back on Asgard?" He greeted as the two of them shook hands. Hera and Frigg hugged each other and said hello. "You must remember my kids, it's been so long," Zeus said. "How could I forget them, they are quite the interesting bunch" Odin chucked with Zeus.
"Why don't we continue this inside where they can set their bags down Dear?" Hera suggested in a tone that meant she was telling him what to do. "Oh, right, of course the servants will come and get your bags and take them to your rooms" Zeus said. After he said that servants came out and took the bags to each god's own room.
They all went inside the palace and said their hellos. "Artemis, it's so good to see you again!" Sif said and they hugged each other. "You too it's been so long since Ilast saw you" after they broke the hug Apollo came over to talk to Sif. "Arty!" Thor exclaimed, and barreled towards her. "Hi Thor-" she was cut off because she was pulled into a hug so tight she had trouble breathing. "Thor- can't- brea-th!" She cocked out. "Sorry about that I'm just happy to see you" "me to Goldie Locks" "Aye Thor!" Apollo called "Come here" "better go see what Apollo wants" Thor said and jogged off.
"Hey princess," came a smooth voice. Artemis turned and saw Loki. "Loki, I missed you" she said and pulled him into a hug. "I missed you too," he said into her hair. "Wait why are you so much taller than me?" Artemis demanded. She was right last time they saw each other. They were about the same height now Loki was able to react his chin on her head. "I don't know, when did you get so short?" He said back. She rolled her eyes. "Shut up"
Zeus called for attention. "Alright why don't we go change out of these fancy clothes and get ready for dinner?" He said they nodded; most of them didn't like having to wear these clothes manly; Artemis, Apollo, Hermes, Loki, and Thor. "See you at dinner" Artemis said over her shoulder
