APOV

If I didn't know better, I would swear I was suffering from migraines.

My visions were going haywire, constantly changing, and I know it had to do with Edward constantly changing his mind about what he was going to do, and when. I hated that I had got myself involved in this, but I felt some responsibility with everything, and I couldn't live with myself if I just turned a blind eye. If I had just tried harder to keep that one vision to myself, but I had no idea it would turn out this way.

I admit, I had let it slip purposely, I was so excited for Edward to finally find his mate, I couldn't keep it from him anymore. I never saw it this going bad though, and I should have seen it sooner than I did. That afternoon, when I grabbed the girl's keys after I bumped into her, I was still seeing it end up the way I had always seen it. She would find herself falling in love with Edward, and being drawn to all of us. Like she was always meant to be a part of the family.

But after that night, something changed.

Everything started getting, murky. Nothing was clear anymore, and it wasn't like anything I had ever experienced before. It was like I could see the original vision, but then, like a double exposure, I could vaguely see something over top of it happening, and from what I could tell, it was definitely not pleasant, but it was never clear enough to to be anything definitive.

I barely caught the fiasco in the library in time.

I was only lucky I was with Emmett and Rose at the time. We had just gotten home from school when it happened, it was the first clear vision I had received, but it was horrible. It killed me to know he was so close to hurting her when they caught him, but after seeing what would have happened if they hadn't got there, I was nothing but relieved. He came home after that, acting all innocent, even after Emmett and Rose's attempt to tear him apart. After the cops left that night, I insisted that we had to leave, that staying would only risk the life of the girl, as well as our own secret. I should have known that Carlisle would never side against his son. It was the four of us against three; Edward, Carlisle, and Esme.

That night, I saw a side of Carlisle that both shocked and terrified me. Nothing I had ever seen in any vision could have prepared me for his way of thinking.

"Alice, you don't understand." He insisted. "This is a once in a lifetime chance for Edward. It's a rare thing to come across your singer, but to also know they belong to you?"

And suddenly, I saw exactly what Carlisle meant when he said 'belong'. I saw the girl lying on a hospital bed, hooked up to IV fluids, but there was one bag that was full of blood.

Her blood.

I gasped as I came out of my vision.

"You can't be serious." I said barely above a whisper. I looked up at Carlisle, and was met with a sinister smile.

"I'm very serious, and I'll be damned if I'm going to let some little psychic pixie take this away from him." He said, taking a step toward me. Faster than I had ever seen him move, Jasper flung Carlisle across the room, and held me behind him protectively.

"Threaten her again, and I'll burn you where you stand, pop." He said menacingly.

I pulled myself closer to him, letting him feel my love and pride.

"Come on, Jazz. Let's go." I said softly, wrapping my arm around his waist from behind. He backed up slowly, not taking his eyes from Carlisle, who was now flanked by Edward and Esme.

"Don't bother coming back either." Esme followed up, standing ahead of Carlisle.

"Really Esme? Do you even know what they are planning on doing with the girl?" I asked, leaning around from behind Jasper to make eye contact with her.

"They are allowing her to live, how is that bad?"

"Do you really call that living?" I asked incredulously.

"Can someone please explain to the rest of us what the hell you're talking about?" Rose yelled.

"Basically, they are going to milk the girl for the rest of her life." I sneered, looking at the Edward and Carlisle in disgust. Emmett and Rose gasped, and even Jasper flinched at the implication, though he never took his eyes off the perceived threat. "Yeah," I continued, "as fast as her body makes blood, they'll take it from her, leaving her just enough to keep living. And Edward will live off his singer's blood." The bastard had the audacity to smirk.

I turned to look at Emmett, and for the first time in my life, I was actually scared of my brother. The look on his face was absolutely murderous, he even had Edward backing away. He truly reminded me of Bruce Banner morphing into the Incredible Hulk. He roared out long and loud, which had everyone except Jasper and Rosalie cowering. I had nearly buried myself into Jasper's back, and he brought an arm around behind him to hold onto me. Edward, Carlisle, and Esme took off after that, who knows where.

Suddenly I was hit with a vision of Jasper and I getting directly involved in protecting the girl, resulting in Edward attacking me, Jasper killing Edward, and Carlisle getting the Volturi to come after Jasper as revenge.

"We have to leave." I said coming out of it.

"What? Why?" Emmett asked, still upset over everything.

"No, just Jasper and me." I said sadly. "You and Rose need to stay. You have to protect her. The wolves will do their part, but she will need you too."

"Good, cause there's no way in hell I would leave her." He said quietly, Rose rubbing his arm in comfort.

Jasper and I headed down south to stay with Peter and Charlotte for awhile. Jasper had learned to just trust that I knew what I was doing, and didn't question me on this. Peter and Charlotte were livid when they heard what had happened, and of course wanted to help, but again, I was seeing a bad end for us if we got involved.

But there was still one way I could try to help.

"Char, I think I have a way you can help me. You said one time that you had projected your consciousness into someone else's?"

"Oh man, I don't know Ali, that's been over a century ago, and it was kind of accidental." She said anxiously.

"What's the worst that could happen?"

"I could miss! I have never seen this girl's aura, never met this girl, I'm kinda shooting blind here."

"I figure we can wait until she's asleep, project into a dream, that way she won't think she's losing her mind, and if you happen to miss, it's just a dream to whoever we land on."

"I don't know, give me time to kind of practice. I really don't even know if I can remember how exactly to do it."

"That's fine, work on it and see if you can do it again, and then we'll go from there. Otherwise, I'm out of ideas."

"Geez, no pressure, right?"

A few weeks later we were all gathered in the living room of their house to attempt 'some voodoo shit' as Jasper called it. He was not exactly on board with this stuff. Not that he didn't believe in it, he just felt like we were messing with something we didn't know a whole lot about, which sounded a bit like witchcraft to him. Pete was fine with it, and actually had volunteered to sit with us, to try to help in any way possible.

Char had practiced a couple of times, and was a little more confident for what she needed to do. We we're going to try to get her to project through me, into the girl. I had wanted to try to get through to the wolf too, but it was impossible, which wasn't very surprising since none of my visions had ever included him.

"So you know what you're going to do, lil' bit?" Pete asked. I could tell he was worried.

"I'm just going to talk to her, tell her what she needs to know."

"You know you can't reveal too much, it can end up hurting-"

"I know, I know." I interrupted him, but then sent him a tight smile. "I have to help her Pete." I whispered. He smiled with a nod and squeezed my hand, and then we began.

I could see her standing in darkness, already starting to freak out, so I knew this wasn't gonna go well.

"Bella, I can't stay long. I just need to tell you something, I need you to know that things are getting ready to change."

"Who is this?"

"I can't say, I just wanted to give you a warning, don't mistake your dreams for reality, and vice versa."

"What?"

"And just know, no matter what happens, even though things will get bad, really bad, they will eventually get better, and you will have your happy ending."

"What the hell are you talking about?"

"Bella, I am trying to help you." I sighed exasperatedly.

"Are you talking about Cullen?"

"Yes. I know you will figure it all out. You are capable of-"

"Oh, fuck off! You want to help me? Tell me how to end this, NOW!"

"I can't, I can only tell you so much."

"Bullshit! You told me all this other stuff, you know what's coming, you know the outcome, now just tell me how to skip the bad parts, and we'll all be happy."

"You can't have the good without the bad. That's how the world works."

"You know what? You can take your damn riddles and shove them up your-"

I finally had enough, and I knew she wasn't going to listen to me. My only option was to show her one of my visions. I hated to scare her so much, but I felt like if she were to see first hand what one of the many outcomes could be, maybe she would take this more serious. I wanted to give her answers, I really did, but I just didn't have any.

I probably went overboard, showing her the worst of all my visions, but I needed her to realize the dangers that she was facing. I probably shouldn't have let her see the last part, with him getting ready to rape her again. I cringed at the thought.

As soon as I felt like I was really getting through to her, we released her.

"That is one sick motherfucker." Charlotte said in disgust.

"Yeah, I know. Now you see why I can't just let this go."

"Are Em and Rose still ok?" Jasper asked from his corner.

"Yeah, they're still looking for him."

"So you can't see where he is, or what he's planning on doing?" Pete asked. I shook my head.

"No, and I don't know if it's because he hasn't decided, or if he's just so messed up now, that it's keeping me from getting a clear view. I still get things now and then, but it's not clear at all. Basically all I've seen of this house is the inside. I don't know where it is, and it must be something he's had for awhile, I never saw him acquiring it or anything."

"So was she right? Do you see how this ends?" Charlotte asked. I shook my head again.

"No, not in a good way anyhow. I've seen a lot of bad outcomes, but nothing good yet."

"I don't understand why we don't just kill the bastard. The world would be better off without him, especially now." Jasper growled.

"Because Carlisle has the Volturi on his side, and you know they are just looking for an excuse to come after you." I huffed at him.

"Please! Let them come after me, I can handle them." He smirked. The three of us growled protectively at the thought of the Volturi attacking him, but he just rolled his eyes.

"No offense Ali, but why exactly do we care about this girl anyway? I mean, humans die every day. Why is it important that this one lives?" Peter asked.

"Well, for starters, she's the mate of the Alpha descendant of the shape shifters in that area, you can just imagine the war that would set off. And I feel partly responsible since I let him see a vision of them together, when I really should have just kept it to myself. But mostly? She's Emmetts niece. Well, his great-great niece."

Everyone sat quiet, and Peter just nodded.

I would be lying if I said the entire situation didn't scare me, I didn't know if we were doing the right thing by sitting back and waiting, but I honestly didn't know what else to do. No matter how much I loved Emmett, Jasper was my everything, and if there was a chance his life was in danger, I absolutely would not risk it. There was no one else on this earth whose life was more important, so regardless of the guilt I may have to live with if this girl ended up dying because of my lack of action, it would be worth keeping Jasper safe.

It was several weeks later that my visions of her stopped. There was only one reason I knew of for my visions of her to stop, and as much as I hated it for Emmett, her death was my relief.

Ok, so this chapter kinda explains a few things, and I know that you might be freaking out about the last part, but remember, Alice doesn't have all the information. And also remember how her visions work around wolves...
