Wow haven't been on here for years but had a itching thought for a short one shot.
HASHIRAMA!
One shinobi in red iron clad armor glared at his opponent. As his friend and adversary, he held the utmost respect for the one facing him. Things could have been different. So many choices, so many outcomes, yet all decisions have come to this moment. It would be the most difficult battle of his life. His clan, the Uchiha, depended on his victory. To free them of the silent control they are put under by the leaf village. A village forged together with their adversary the Senju, the segregation in power is apparent. They wish to leash their only rivals through politics.
Madara saw different. Doubt was not present in his mind. Only if the Senju was truly like Hashirama, Madara would gladly give his life for prosperity. Tobirama was the Uchiha's bane. His lust for control and disregard for true unification has trifled any means of lasting peace. With his final affirmation he commanded the nine tail beast, charging towards the Forest that must be burned away.
Konoha – Same Time
It was raining. One could've thought they were in the rain village. The skies filled with suffocating grey. Why am I here, whilst my brother is out there? Thoughts and thoughts filled every edge of a white haired shinobi. Unified, prosperous, powerful, Konoha is a shining beacon to end what tragedy the clan wars has wrought. How after through the sum of all tears and blood can everything be threatened to go back to oblivion?
Thoughts of Itama began to flood his mind. His habitual distrust of the Uchiha began to fill every pore of his being. His intelligence however betrayed his thoughts. He knew deep inside his past bias does not serve a better future. Perhaps Hashirama's influence is rubbing off on his beliefs. Ever since the historic day when Hashirama and Madara shook hands for a hopeful future so ever slowly his hatred waned. Sigh. It was the right thing for Hashirama to become Hokage. Time lets wounds heal, it lets memories become anew, it lets change flow with curious conclusions. Only Hashirama could've united us all. He stood by his decision. Whether Madara heard him saying the Uchiha should not be Hokage makes no difference, for it would have not been so. Hashirama was Konoha's only possible leader, not me not Madara.
What a shame Madara would ignite chaos because he lacked the vision to see past his own distrust. Not that I do not understand. No, if Madara is victorious the clan wars will ensue. All progress made will only revert towards bloodshed. Hashirama asked him to safeguard the village while he goes after Madara. Naïve of him to think he can convince the Uchiha to avert from a certain warpath. To truly safeguard the village was to ensure Madara's defeat. With his final affirmation he performed the thunder god technique, charging towards the peace that must be protected.
