The Gordons drove up to Wayne manor. James opened the door for his daughter. Jim knocked and they were greeted by Alfred as usual.

"Ah, Commissioner...And miss Barbara. Master Bruce has been expecting you. Please come in."

They followed Alfred not into the usual drawing room but into Bruce's study.

Bruce and Dick both stood as Bruce greeted them. "Jim, Barbara, please make yourselves comfortable."

"Thanks Bruce," Jim said. Barbara also thanked him as she sat next to her father.

"Well Jim, you wanted to speak to me."

Bruce saw a side of Barbara that rarely showed. She was nervous. For that matter so was Dick.

"Yes, Bruce I do. You and I are good friends, so I'll get right to the point. Seems my little girl here has been spending more time with you and Dick than I though. Nights mostly and going by a different name."

Bruce nodded. "And that name is Batgirl, right?"

"Yes," He replied, not surprised that Bruce had guessed the nature of his visit. "And from there it's not hard to guess who her partners are."

Barbara, who had been uncharacteristically quiet so far, said to the men she worked with. "Hope you guys aren't too mad at me."

Dick spoke up, "Bruce and I have spoken about this. We knew it was a matter of time before your father found us out. I was just worried he'd be mad at you."

Gordon told them, "At first I wasn't sure what to think. I was proud of her but also a little hurt that she kept it from me. Still, I understood why." He paused. "But I'm proud that she has a drive to protect the innocent. And that she proved good enough to partner with the two of you." He sighed. "I do worry about her going up against people like Ivy, Two Face or the Joker, just to name a few." He turned to his daughter, "But then you must feel the same way when I go to work." She nodded. With a smile he said, "Well then we'll just have to trust each other to be careful." He glanced at the men he now knew were the caped crusaders, "And trust our partners to watch our backs."

"I think we cover each other pretty well. Not to mention some of our other allies," Bruce said.

"Yeah, she's also got Superman and Supergirl, the Marvel twins, and Wonder Woman backing her up, along with the rest of the league." Dick pointed out.

"Done any investigation into them?" Bruce asked.

He shook his head. "No need, no reason to compromise them. I only looked into you because it directly involved Barbara."

"Well," Bruce said, "We might as well show you everything then. Come with me."

They all rose and followed Bruce. He stepped over to a wall in the study. There he stopped at a grandfather clock, "The Batcave?" Barbara said. Her father's eyes widened a little at that.

"Yes, he's part of the team now too, after all." Bruce reached up to a light fixture where Barbara knew there was a switch. The wall opened to reveal a staircase. Bruce led them down. Jim noticed the light dimmed slowly. No doubt to allow your eyes to adjust. He guessed it made sense. Too much light down there and it could be noticeable from wherever their exit to the cave was.

They stepped out to enter the cave. Gordon saw a number of what he assumed were trophies that Bruce had kept. A giant penny, a freeze gun that had belonged to Victor Fries, an umbrella; that Jim assumed must have belonged to the Penguin. a giant joker card, a T-Rex that Gordon knew would be a deactivated robot.

Jim noticed a bank of computers and what looked like a very comfortable chair in front of it. Off to the side was some other equipment.

"What you're looking at is the Bat-computer. Or more correctly several computers linked together. We'll give you more of a rundown on all of its functions later. There are just too many to go over now. Next to it, as you have probably guessed, is various lab equipment."

"Impressive," Jim said. "I'd be interested in a closer look."

"Of course."

As they looked around Jim said, "well now that I know I'll be able to help you maintain your secret." He then turned to his daughter. "Here's a part you may not like though sweetheart. We're going to have to reconsider your plans to move into your own place."

"What?"

"Pumpkin, if I figured it out, don't you think other people could to."

"Daddy, those people aren't Batman or Robin, or the police commissioner."

"No, they aren't. But I'm not so arrogant as to assume that no one else could put the pieces together. One of the smarter ones, like Penguin; or Riddler, after all solving puzzles is his thing. I was worried enough about them knowing where the commissioner's daughter lived. I can't have them figure out you're Batgirl and know where to find you alone and off your guard."

She knew he was right, but she hated it. "What if I share it with one of the other JLA members?"

"You can't expose their identity Barbara," Dick said, "Not without their permission anyway."

"Whose side are you on Dick?" She asked her boyfriend.

He answered, "The side of keeping you alive and healthy. Not to mention staying in the role of the hero rather than the damsel in distress."

'Damn him, he always knows what to say.' She thought to herself. "Touche, boy wonder." She knew his old moniker bugged him.

He looked down at her. "I'll get you for that. Don't forget I know where you're ticklish."

"Thought you didn't want me to be a damsel in distress."

He smiled and said, "well as long as I get to play the villain..."

Gordon cleared his throat. Barbara sheepishly said, "Sorry daddy."

His expression softened, as it always did when he spoke to her. "It's okay sweetheart. Just save the flirting for when I'm not around."

"Yes, daddy," she said sheepishly.

"As for a roommate or two," Bruce said, "I have a few ideas about some of the members who might be willing to trust your father with their secrets. I'll ask them."

"Thanks Bruce," She said with a smile.

"You're welcome." He smiled slightly. "Now, let's move on to the car."
