A/N: I've had this idea in my head for a while, this will start in S4 but there will be changes to the canon to fit some of the ideas for my story, I have this mapped out to go to at least S6, but it may go farther than that. Lyanna Summers belongs to me, any flashback will be time stamped and typed in italics. This was a spur of the moment post as I was just going to write this for myself, but let's see how it goes on here! Carry On SPN Fam xoxo

Chapter 1: Homecoming
Six years. It had been six years since Lyanna Summers had been to Sioux Falls. Six years since she walked away, six years of normalcy, six years of pretending. She sighed as she pulled onto the dirt road that led to Singer's Salvage Yard, everything looked the same, cars piled up and cluttered everywhere, a flood of memories filled her mind and she almost kept driving, but she didn't, she pulled into the driveway and put her car in park. Lyanna took a deep breath, this is where her Mother had said to go, she'd told Lyanna that Bobby would be able to help her. She pocketed her keys and closed the car door, adjusting her shirt as she made her way to the front door, rapping gently on it, a small smile came to her face as the door opened and Bobby stood in front of her "Hiya Bobby." she said
She looked so much like her Mother, Bobby had almost called her Vanessa, "Hi, Lya." he smiled, "I had a feeling you'd be showing up soon." he added, letting her inside, "I'm sorry about your Mom."
Lyanna nodded slightly, "You and me both." she said, following Bobby to the kitchen where he offered her a beer, she popped the cap off and took a swig, "How'd you know I'd be here?" she asked
"Vanessa called me about.. Six months ago." Bobby admitted, "Sent me something." he added, disappearing to the other room for a moment then reappearing with a file folder in his hand, "Your Mom was doing a lot of research before she passed." he said, "And this is it. I've been going through some of it, and there's a few good leads…"
A rumble of a car sounded outside and Lyanna walked to the window, glancing outside. Her stomach dropped when she recognized the black Impala parked next to her blue Camero. Bobby moved beside her and frowned slightly, "I was kinda hoping they wouldn't show up until after you left.." he mumbled
"It's okay Bobby." Lyanna shrugged, "We're all adults and that was a long time ago.."
"Bobby?" a voice called as the front door opened "Who's car is that? I need to take that baby for a test drive." it laughed as the Winchester's entered the kitchen
Sam recognized her first and his face lit up with happiness "Lyanna!" he said, pulling the younger girl into a hug
"Hi, Sammy." Lyanna laughed returning the hug, "You got so big." she commented, squeezing his shoulder, "Hello, Dean." she added daring to glance at the older man in front of her
Dean couldn't believe she was standing in front of him, the girl who disappeared from his life without so much as a goodbye, the girl who broke his heart a million little times. He cleared his throat and nodded, "Summers." he said
Lyanna rolled her eyes as she looked at Dean, "Really? That's how you're gonna play this?" she asked
Dean shrugged "I don't owe you anything." he replied, glancing at Bobby "Why's she here?" he asked
"She needs help." Bobby said, "Promised her Mom I'd help her, so that's what I'm gonna do." he added
"But you gotta help us first." Dean argued, "I feel like our problems might be a little more important than little miss civilian's." he snapped
Lyanna scoffed, "I got here first." she countered, placing a hand on her hip
Dean let out a laugh, "Nah, you left six years ago remember? We never did." he said, taking a step towards Lyanna "We stayed loyal. Find someone else to help you."
"Dean.." Sam sighed, pulling his brother back "I'm sure Bobby can help both of us.."
"Are you done being an idjit?" Bobby said glaring at Dean, "Listen, I'm gonna help yah both." he added, "But it'd make my life a lot easier if I had tabs on all three of you.. So for the time being I'm saying you three stick together."
Dean opened his mouth to argue when Sam stepped in "Fine." he said, "Could be helpful having a witch on our side for once." he smiled, "You do still practice right?" he asked Lyanna
Lyanna nodded "I do." she smiled, "Not as much as I should be, but enough." she laughed, then she cleared her throat, "Well if I'm staying I guess I gotta make a few calls." she added, as her phone on the table began vibrating "Who's Jakey?" Dean asked, glancing at the caller ID
Lyanna glared at Dean and grabbed the phone off the table, "My fiance." she mumbled, walking away as she answered the call
Dean's eyes widened ever so slightly, "Fiance." he repeated, "I thought hunters didn't get things like that."
Sam rolled his eyes, "She isn't a hunter anymore." he said, "At least she wasn't for the last few years.." he added, "Why do you have such a problem with Lya?" he asked
"I don't." Dean replied, "I have a problem with people who pretend this world doesn't exist when they know it does." he shrugged
Bobby put his hand up "Can it, Dean." he said, "Stow your baggage and let's move on. I can help with your angel problem and I can help Lyanna with her heritage problem, but you gotta leave the past where it belongs. In the damn past." he snapped
"Alrighty." Lyanna said, walking back into the room "Looks like I'm yours for the next six months." she smiled, "I told Jake I had a family problem that I had to take care of.." she added, glancing at Bobby
Bobby smiled and nodded "You can take the spare bedroom upstairs." he said, "At least while you're staying here.. I'm sure the boys will take care of you on the road."
Dean remained quiet as he chugged the last of his beer, "I'm gonna go grab us some grub, I'll be back in a bit." he said, grabbing his keys and rushing out the door
Sam sighed as he looked at Lyanna "He'll get over it." he said, "Whatever it is.." he added, hoping Lyanna might just fill him in on that, but when she stayed quiet he knew whatever it was, was apparently hard for both of them right now.
Bobby cleared his throat, "Why don't we fill Lyanna in on what she's missed the past few years?" he suggested, as Sam followed them into the living room.
After getting caught up Lyanna felt completely unprepared to be hunting again. It seems that even the supernatural world moved forward with its bigger and badder battles. Bobby was making phone calls about both the boys and Lyanna's problems, so that left just Lyanna and Sam sitting on the couch sipping on their beers.
"So, how long have you been engaged?" Sam asked, hoping the closeness that the two had once shared would return if he slowly pulled her back into their lives
"About a year." Lyanna smiled, "I met Jake in college we dated for a few years and he proposed last Christmas." she added, "I said yes.. Thinking I wouldn't have to worry about this kind of stuff, now it feels like.. I should've said no." she sighed
Sam nodded in understanding, "Hey, for what it's worth. I'm glad you got out, even for a little bit." he smiled
"Thanks Sam." Lyanna said, she was fidgeting with something around her neck, a black cord that was tucked into her shirt, "I-I never meant to hurt Dean." she whispered, "I just-I thought I could be normal. I was young and naive."
"Just give him some time." Sam replied, "I think it was just a big shock to see you after all these years. I-I don't know how it ended for you two, Dean never really let me in about that stuff, but, he gets it… why you left, even if he won't admit it."
"I got food." Dean announced as he walked into the living room placing the takeout bags on the table, he cleared his throat as he handed a bag to Lyanna, "I wasn't sure what to get you, but here." he said, shoving the bag in her hands
Lyanna nodded slightly as she pulled out the food, onion rings, and a double cheeseburger, extra pickles, extra ketchup and no mustard, a small smile graced her lips. He remembered her order, "You remembered?" she asked, giving Dean a strange look
Dean shrugged "We used to eat a lot of takeout." he said, biting into his own burger, then calling Bobby into the room to eat, "Anything useful?" he asked the older man as he sat down
Bobby rubbed the back of his neck, "Nothing real helpful, but I found you guys a case." he said, "Concrete, Washington." he added, "Maybe by the time you guys get back I'll have something useful to tell you." he said
After eating everyone settled into their respective sleeping quarters, Lyanna was changing into her pajamas when someone knocked on her door. She was surprised when she opened it and Dean was standing in front of her "Dean, hey." she said, "What's up?"
"I uh, just wanted to check in, I wanna be on the road early.. Just wanted to make sure you remember how this works." Dean said smugly, as he entered Lyanna's room and sat on the bed
Lyanna rolled her eyes as she turned around to face Dean, "I remember. Pack light, only essentials." she said, pulling her hair into a ponytail
Dean nodded and was about to get up to leave when he noticed the necklace hanging around Lyanna's neck, it was a protection charm similar to the amulet he had gotten from Sam when they were younger. He remembered that necklace, he gave it to her for her 19th birthday, a few months before she left Sioux Falls forever. "I thought you would've tossed that." he commented as he motioned to her neck
Lyanna brought a hand to her necklace and tucked it back under her shirt, "A little extra protection never hurts anybody." she shrugged, trying to play off how much the necklace actually meant to her, she'd never taken it off, in six years she always wore it, always remembered him
Dean didn't look like he believed her, but nodded anyways, "Be up and ready by 8." he said as he stood from her bed, "Oh, and you get the back." he added with a smirk, "I remember all the fun we used to have in that seat." he chuckled as he left the room leaving Lyanna with very flushed cheeks and a very vivid memory
Lyanna groaned and fell back on the bed. This was going to be a very complicated next few months, and she wasn't sure she could handle these old feelings that were escaping to the surface, she had a feeling she was about to get a lot more answers than she bargained for, and she wasn't sure what she was supposed to do when she did.
