# (3) KLAUS
KLAUS STOOD OVER Wolfes crib, watching the two weeks old baby squirm and coo over the presence of his father. The hybrid placed his hands on the bar handle of the crib."Is he still awake?" Kai asked his husband, stepping a foot into his son's nursery. The hybrid nodded his has with a hum, gently caressing the cheek of his son. The soft texture of Wolfs skin brought a smile to his face. He watched his Wolfe kick his tiny feet in the air, folding his small hands and cooing loudly blabbering cooing words to himself.
"He looks happy, " Klaus pulled a chair close to the crib. Ever since Wolfe was born, he never wanted to leave his son's side. He wanted to spend every second with Wolfe. "I have no inkling on what he babbles to himself but he looks happy."
Klaus hoped his baby was happy. He would bend the stars to make his son happy."Ah, " Kai grinned walking closer to Klaus. The heretic held a baby bottle with warm milk in his hand."I brought his milk, " He looked at Klaus who stood up, the hybrid still had the pregnancy fat. Not that he cared. He gave birth to his son and he would embrace it. He dealt with some insecurity of his body here and there but then again, he was a thousand years old, feeling insecure was part of his job description. "You should rest."
Klaus had spent all day and night watching over baby Wolfe, never letting go of the son he gave birth to two weeks prior. He was worried for his son, worried his enemies would chase after him.
"I can't yet, " Klaus held out his hand for Kai, the heretic picked up his son and placed the baby in his husband's arms."We are yet to make certain our enemies are destroyed."
Kai nodded his head in agreement. That was what he had been doing. Killing whatever enemies he and Klaus had. Making things easy for his husband. He could not afford a stressed husband. He had worked so hard to get this life. No enemy would ruin that.
"Relax, " Kai places a kiss to his husband's lips. He caressed Wolfes bald baby head before giving the bottle to Klaus."Feed our boy."
Klaus nodded his head. He needed to take a deep breath. Spend time with Wolfe without actually worrying. He needed that. "Alright, " Klaus placed the tip of the bottle to Wolfes mouth, he held his son, watching the baby hold the bottle and his hands, feeding hungrily."You must be hungry?" Klaus grinned at his son who coed, closing his eyes.
Kai watched his son feed, a smile playing at his lips before he slipped out of the nursery. He had business to attend. A business that would make his husband happy.
Klaus hummed to a lullaby he knew Wolfe had grown to love. It always kept the baby calm and the hybrid loved those calm moment with his som..how Wolfe would just be so quiet, cooing and looking around with eyes wide with wonder. The hybrid often wondered what went through his son's mind. What the baby would often think off but he concluded that Wolfe only thought about food. Probably his favourite cartoon.
The hybrid always sat his son in front of the tv, not to close as he was worried about straining baby Wolfes eyes. He would build a pillow fort for Wolfe who became so engrossed in a cartoon called boss baby. His coo became louder and his newborn squirming became constant. He was happy.
"I promise, " Klaus began to Wolfe some moment later, placing his son between the pillow forte of the living parlour. He sat in front of his son, holding Wolfe who could not sit on his own just yet, he was still a newborn. "Your Papa and I will eradicate our enemies so you can have a bright future."
Wolfe coed, eyes darting around the living room, drops of spit stickily fell down his jaw.
Klaus grinned picking up his son, he gently laid Wolfe in his arms. Picking up a few toys around them to play with his son. The boy placed his hands on his father's cheeks, loudly cooing so adorably. "I wish I could understand what you say, " Klaus whispered ruefully to his son who looked at him with clear green forest eyes. Those were Kai's eyes. "Why don't you tell Daddy what your babbles mean?"
The hybrid felt like a fool for talking back to his son as if Wolfe could understand a word. Maybe Wolde could, he had no idea but he wants Wolfe to know his voice. How he and Kai sounded like. He would often babble along with his son who randomly cooed or copied his actions. Wolfe was almost three weeks now, so cooing was a start. He would usually make a sound in response to Kai or Klaus or watch them become goofballs who read or played with his toys to get a reaction from him.
"What do you want to read today?" Klaus picked up his son who made low noises as he breathes. The hybrid played a soft kiss Wolfes head, walking towards the library section of the living room. He would never admit to Kai but Klaus adorned the small space. It was just the three of them. Just Kai, Klaus and Wolfe. No extra twenty bedrooms or fifty bathrooms. He was quite contempt with the space of his small house. Five bedrooms was good enough. It was big in his way, bigger than an average house but small, smaller than any house he's ever lived.
"What about Humpty dumpty?" Klaus sat down on a chair next to a shelf of books, pulling out a green book. He balanced his son on his lap before opening the pages of the storybook."I read this to you when you were in my stomach, " Klaus told his son. Drools falling thickly on the hybrids hand, he plucked a small cloth from the table, cleaning his son's mouth and his hands. "You kicked all the time."
An "Ahh" cooing sound escaped Wolfes mouth, he leaned forward, his hands picking up his fathers large ones, placing Klaus's hands into his mouth."I am not a chew toy, " The hybrid chuckled to himself. "You also aren't a puppy."
"But he is a pup, " Kai walked into the library. He grinned at his son."Hey, Wolfe, " He took Wolfe from Klaus, the hybrid grunting. He wanted to hold his son a little bit longer. He would often dismiss Kai's words about him being the extremely protective parent who never wanted their children out of sight. Extremely protective. But Kai was not wrong, Klaus was indeed protective and Wolfe was his firstborn. He was working in his own pace to be a parent. He would be the best parent he knew how to be. He would be there for his little Wolf. He would be the annoying parent who was always present. Just for Wolfe."Tell Daddy I wanna hold you."
Klaus scoffed loudly with an eye roll to Kai's words."Fine, " He grinned."Just for some time."
Kai rolled his eyes playfully, he sat on the hybrids lap, his son in his arms."Let's read your favourite, beauty and the beast."
Klaus laid his head on Kai's shoulder, a smile on his face. For once he felt peaceful."He loves Humpty dumpty. " Was Klaus only response to Kai who grinned.
Of course he knew that. The hybrid knew the in and out of their son, it made Kai proud."See, daddy truly knows best."
A smirk placed on Klaus' face. He hoped he did. He hoped he would always know best for Wolfe. It was all for Wolfe. Wolfe was worth it. "I love you both."He whispered.
