-November 7 Floor 75 Labyrinth 1251-
Kirito felt exhausted as he, the Defenders minus Argo, their partners, several members of the Knight of the Blood Oath had defeated the Skull Crawler Boss, the seventy fifth boss. It was here, Kirito noticed something odd, Heathcliff's HP was still in the yellow, despite the fact this boss had killed several players. Then it hit him.
With Elucidor in hand, Kirito struck at Heathcliff from behind. But before anyone could say anything, an all too familiar icon appeared.
Immortal Object
"What the hell?" Asuna demanded horrified.
"All this time, I wondered where he was, what he was doing, but the fact of the matter is you were watching us the whole time, AKIHIKO KAYABA!" Kirito demanded. Everyone gasped horrified, as Heathcliff cackled, implying Kirito's theory was correct.
"Of course, this is my world, although you just forced my hand sooner than expected. Originally I was to reveal my identity for several more floors, all to add to the excitement," Kayaba cackled. "The immortal object buff was simply so I wouldn't die before then,"
"Then turn it off so we can introduce you properly to WarGreymon," Taiki threatened, as Agumon got into a stance.
"Ah, yes, the Digidestined, tell me, have you spoke with Daigo and the others yet?" Kayaba asked whimsically. This definitely caught everyone off guard. "You know the story right, of Apocalymon, of how five chosen before you defeated him? I was one of those five children, where my partner, Candlemon became Azulongmon,"
"Holy hell in a handbasket," Taiki said horrified.
"And so my friends, what say you to, URK!" That was as far as Akihiko got when Argomon mysteriously reappeared and rammed his hand through the knight's back. Everyone either screamed or gasped at this act.
"Got you," Argomon smirked victoriously.
"You, but, but I thought?" Akihiko gasped horrified.
"That I couldn't harm humans here, no I couldn't, until now!" Argomon sneered. " I knew who you were Kayaba, the whole time, I've been bidding my time, hording data of deleted Digimon and locations, all to hack the Cardinal System and get into your account, and control the monster spawn points,"
"Monster spawn, for what?" Asuna asked confused.
"You guys remember I told you about Armageddomon, right?" Taiki asked horrified, instantly knowing what the hell was going on.
"Yeah, why, oh," Kirito began confused, only to convert to realization.
"Yeah, that," Argomon cackled. "This just happened sooner than expected!" Just then, several thousand green and purple Kuramon flooded the dungeon and attached themselves to Argomon, who still had his hand inside of Akihiko's avatar.
ARGOMON DIGIVOLVE TO!
Every player left instantly ran out as Argomon began to grow. The dungeon itself was collapsing on top of everyone. When it finally did, everyone was left horrified at what Argomon became. It was a hulking giant that sported the same color scheme as his previous form did. A large assortment of green tendrils hung off the back of its head and arms. The eyes throughout its body were a glowing yellow. The center was a giant red assortment of cables creating an elongated neck, on top of its body was the hood of Argomon's ultimate head. Taiki took a look at his digivice.

"Oh hell, that's just menacing" Agil gasped horrified.
"BRUTE FORCE!" Argomon slammed his fist into the ground, shattering it and created an opening to floor 74.
"Damn it," Taiki gasped horrified. Those not affiliated with the Data Defenders ran, downright horrified of what Argomon could now do.
"Alright everyone, this is it, it's time to Digivolve!" Kirito ordered, taking both swords in hand.
Asuna nodded in agreement. "We win this, we go home,"
"Everyone!" Klein ordered. Kudamon saw this from his spot in a nearby tree and went to get help.
"NO, DISTORTION LINE!" A barrage of energy beams fired from Argomon's many eyes. This caused Agumon, Taiki, Huckmon, Kirito, Renamon, and Asuna to go flying off the edge of Aincrad. The other defenders looked frightened as their friends flew off.
"No, not when I'm so close," Taiki gasped, reaching out to Agumon.
It was here Kari felt something odd as her family drove to the hospital, something powerful, her crest of light glowed dully beneath her shirt, so much so she never noticed it. At the same time, Tai's Nerve gear lit up with new power.
Simultaneously Kazuto, Tai, and Asuna knew what to say. They put their digivices over their hearts and in near perfect unison bellowed two words. "BIOMERGE ACTIVATE!" The trio were then converted into a pixelated aura to match the colors of their digivices whenever their partners reached ultimate level, and flew into the rookie level Digimon.

"And now for you lot!" Argomon bellowed, raising a fist.
"Glorious Burst!" A powerful fireball shot out into Argomon pushing him back.
"Amethyst Slash!" A pink/purple energy blade slashed at Argomon.
"Royal Inferno!" A mighty blue inferno dragged across Argomon's face. It was here, three new, powerful looking Digimon flew over.
The first was a giant red and white humanoid dragon like Digimon with several blue gems decorating his body and wings, and a yellow head which bore three horns. His back had an upgraded rendition of RizeGreymon's wings. His tail had a gold charm at the end that bore a resemblance to the sun. In his hand was a gold and red double sided sword with a grip towards the middle.
The second was female clad in black and gold fox themed armor with Renamon's gloves and matching boots. In her hand was a glowing rapier with a series of gold rings at the hilt. Her long silver hair was tied into two long ponytails.
The third Digimon looked more on the lines of a stronger version of SaviorHuckmon with runes on the swords. Rather than have ordinary legs, he had rapiers with blue colored energy runes at the tips, acting like feet. The tail could stretch around his body. Three mysterious orange flares followed him around.
"Renamon and the others must have reached mega level awesome!" Silica cheered. Almost instantly, her joy was replaced by confusion, where were Asuna, Kirito, and Taiki?
However what was strangest of all, was all three Digimon had the green diamonds hovering above their heads like those used by SAO players. Klein, Lisbeth, and Silica each took a look at their digivices.

"What in the sweet name of hell does it mean other moves unknown?" Agil demanded confused.
"Sorry we're late guys," ShineGreymon said with a light chuckle. His tone was a warped hybrid between Taiki's and Agumon's.
"No, no way," Klein said astonished. "Did you guys fuse with your partners?"
"Looks like it," Sakuyamon smiled a bit.
"You guys have to find Argomon's base," Jesmon ordered. "There has to be a backup Kuramon somewhere,"
"YOU WON'T GET THE CHANCE!" Argomon declared, venomously, then stood up. "TERRABYTE DISASTER!" As Argomon roared, several million purple energy beams fired from his maw, forcing the newly created Mega Level Digimon to move, except for ShineGreymon.
"FIRE WALL!" ShineGreymon slapped his opened palm to the ground, conjuring a wall of flames that blocked the attack.
"That thing could be anywhere," Argo reminded, as she and the other Defenders ran off. "We've only cleared 75 floors we can't look anywhere else,"
Klein stopped for a moment, a confused look on his face. "Or maybe, it's in the last place we physically have to look," Everyone looked at him confused. "There's only one place it could be, the Ruby Palace!" Klein realized.
"That makes sense, since Argomon's been in the severs before the launch date, he would know all the shortcuts," Silica realized.
"SOL JAVELIN!" ShineGreymon's wings were covered in energy, firing another Glorious Burst. This time, it covered the GeoGrey Sword, which was thrown at Argomon.
The hilt on Sakuyamon's raiper shifted upwards, converting it into a golden staff. "Spirit Strike!" Four energy foxes, each a different color, slammed into Argomon.
The three ghosts around Jesmon lit up as he bellowed. "UN POUR TOUS!" The three arranged themselves to create an energy shield and fired a concentrated beam from it.
The three attacks all had the same effect, the In Training Argomon copies used to digivolve the ultimate rendition fell off in pieces of the Mega, leaving gaps in the behemoth. Only for Argomon to smirk momentarily, obviously not worried. More in training Argomon appeared from the various spawn points and attached to the mega, repairing him.
"Son of a bitch," ShineGreymon groaned annoyed.
KUDAMON WARP DIGIVOLVE TO KENTAURUSMON!
"What was that?" Jesmon asked worried.
"ODIN'S BREATH!" A powerful blizzard rushed past the three megas and covered Argomon in ice. Everyone turned to see a powerful looking red armored centaur like Digimon with golden spikes and wings. On one arm was a mounted crossbow, the other had a gigantic shield.
The biomerged Digimon's vision momentarily lit up with a Digimon analyzer like HUD.
Kentaurusmon

Attacks: Bifrost, Odin's Breath, Tactical Stomp
"Did you miss me?" Kentaurusmon asked with a smirk.
"Kudamon, it's about damned time, Argo was worried," Sakuyamon chastised. It was here, the ice covering Argomon began to crack and shake violently.
"Be angry at me later, right now we have work to do!" Kentaurusmon ordered.
The ice flew off Argomon in pieces. "MYSTIC CANNON!"
"NO CHANCE!" Kentaurusmon pushed Argomon back. The beam attack aimed right upwards, creating a hole through the remaining 26 floors.
"THANK YOU!" MachGaogamon declared, as he and the other Digimon reached their Ultimate Forms and were rode by their partners.
"As if I should be worried," Argomon sneered. This caught the four Megas attention.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Jesmon demanded confused.
"Now where's the fun if I just tell you?" Argomon cackled. "But until then, Distortion Line!" Argomon fired a bombardment of energy beams.
-Floor 100 Ruby Palace Moments later-
Ruby Palace was a large spiral tower with a series of obelisks surrounding it. In the center of the courtyard was a strange statue of a demonic angel like creature. Hovering above the Defenders was another Digimon fighting an assortment of Digimon and monsters, likely Argomon's army. It was a tall knight like Digimon in pale purple and blue armor. In one hand was a double sided silver spear, the other was a black shield with a red trim. Silica's Digivice lit up with data.
Craniumon

Attacks: Waltz's End, Breath of Gods, Claíomh Solais
"Another one of the Royal Knights?" Klein asked confused.
"WALTZ'S END!" Craniumon spun his spear, creating a powerful sonic boom, destroying several combatants.
"That would be a yes," Agil commented.
"If you lot wouldn't mind lending me a hand, I'd greatly appreciate it!" Craniumon called out without turning to face the defenders.
"You heard the guy, move!" Lisbeth armed her sword and ran forward. The humans followed through, intent on reaching the Palace.
-Hidden Dungeon 1323-
Gankoomon walked through the dungeon, effortlessly punching the lights out of any monster who crossed his path. "Almost there, and there it is," Gankoomon smiled, seeing the terminal Kirito and Yui used.
"Alright, let's see what I can do with this," Cracking his knuckles, Gankoomon began accessing the sever. "What the hell?" Instantly he got confused seeing two others trying to access the Cardinal System, RECT, and something called the NPDB. "Oh no you don't,"
-Floor 100 Ruby Palace-
"Howling CANNON!" MachGaogamon provided cover as the team of four ran into the Ruby Palace with Lisbeth trying not to admire the architect.
"That must be it," Silica pointed out, seeing the pink jellyfish like creature, sleeping on the throne.
"GRAB IT!" Agil and Klein jumped at the Kuramon, waking it up. The jellyfish like creature only struggled against their combined weight and strength.
"I got it!" Silica raised her blade and stabbed the Kuramon. However her attack was blocked by a familiar purple icon.
"OH COME THE HELL ON!" Lisbeth bellowed infuriatingly.
"I mean it's not like we have something," It was here Agil's comment was interrupted by Argomon's Terabyte Disaster attack ripping the floor to pieces. The floor parted, as everyone began to fall.
Silica lost her footing first, and began to fall to Floor 99.
"ICE ARCHERY!" Cresmon quickly fired a frozen blast, as a make shift support beam, catching her partner. "Hang on Silica," Cresmon flew over and grabbed her.
"You have no idea how grateful I am to see you," Silica said with a relaxing sigh.
"What's the problem?" Craniummon demanded as he and the other Digimon entered the Palace.
"FIRE JEWELS!" Firing a quick blast of flaming feathers, Crowmon dispersed a squad of Digimon who got too close as Lilamon and MachGaogamon shut the doors.
"We can't kill this stupid thing because it's considered an Immortal Object," Klein gripped, holding up the Kuramon who still struggled.
"Let me try!" Craniummon grabbed Kuramon and attempted to stab it. Only for the attack to fail just as the others had. Craniummon was silent for a moment, the began to get angry. He furiously began to stab Kuramon with no evidence of slowly down.
"Should we try to stop him?" Cresmon asked confused.
"Let him have this," Lilamon said reluctantly.
"Well, he's kind of going to have to stop, I have a plan," Agil said nervously.
-Floor 74-72 and counting-
ShineGreymon began to grapple with Argomon, as the two fell through to the newly created holes in Aincraid. "WHY. WON'T. YOU. DIE!" ShineGreymon demanded as he punched
"BECAUSE I WON'T REST UNTIL I DESTROY YOU ALL!" Argomon bellowed. "WHY, WHY WAS IT SO YOU GOT TO GO TO THE DIGITAL WORLD!" A few stray tears began to come off of Argomon's many eyes.
ShineGreymon then threw him off, landing in floor 50. "That's why you attacked us those times, because you felt left out, because you haven't been to the Digital World?" ShineGreymon asked incredulously. "You launched Nukes at Japan!"
"I got to be me, TERRABYTE DISASTER!" Argomon recovered quickly and fired another bombardment of beams.
"Corona Splash!" ShineGreymon's wings lit up and fired several shining energy beams from the jewels at the tips.
The beams collided, creating a smokescreen. When the smoke vanished, ShineGreymon was gone. Slowly and cautiously, Argomon began to look around for his opponent.
"Wrong place, THUNDER KICK!" Sakuyamon delivered a powerful electrified kick to Argomon's head from above. As several In-training Argomon launched off the body, Argomon's ultimate form and Kayaba could be seen momentarily.
"JUDGEMENT OF THE BLADE!" With blinding speeds, Jesmon slashed Argomon, leaving the same results as before.
"We can't keep doing this, we have to end him quickly," Kentaurusmon brought up, as he and ShineGreymon regrouped.
"I know, but I'm more worried about what he's going to do next," ShineGreymon said nervously.
"GUYS!" Kentaurusmon and ShineGreymon turned to see the remaining Defenders and Craniummon fly over.
"What happened and who is he?" ShineGreymon asked, noticing the new addition.
"Thing's immortal," Lisbeth said annoyed, holding up Kuramon. "Not even our angry friend here can kill it,"
"But I know someone who can," Agil said gesturing Argomon.
"May I?" ShineGreymon said with a devious tone.
"I would be insulted if you didn't," Agil tossed Kuramon at ShineGreymon.
"SHINE HAMMER!" With Kuramon in hand, ShineGreymon rushed at Argomon, thrusters at full power, covered in yellow light.
"Nice try," Argomon cackled venomously. "MYSTIC CANNON!" The black energy beam launched at ShineGreymon. Rather than get frightened, ShineGreymon smirked, then changed to an ascent, dropping Kuramon in the process, right into the beam.
Argomon noticed Kuramon, but it was too late, the attack effortlessly destroyed the In-Training Digimon. Argomon was silent for a moment, frightening everyone.
"DIE!" Argomon raged violently. He began to fire his various beam attacks, ripping Aincrad apart by the seams. Argomon then slammed his fist into the ground, evidently going somewhere.
"Well, I wasn't expecting that," ShineGreymon said worryingly as he dodged some debris.
"Where's he going?" Jesmon wondered out loud.
"I just got an email from Thinker, they're evacuating everyone to Hidden Dungeon because of Argomon's attack!" Silica shouted horrified.
"He's going to kill every player at once," Kentaurusmon realized.
"How do you have Thinker's account info?" Sakuyamon asked confused.
"His idea," Silica said offhandedly.
"It's time we end Argomon for good," Jesmon said firmly. "And we're going to need all of us to do it,"
"I love it when you use the you have a plan voice," ShineGreymon cackled.
-Floor 1-
"DEMIMERAMON!" Sasha called out, as the army forced her into the dungeon. The Town of Beginnings was shaking violently as Argomon continued his decent. The army had arrived earlier, with several of the more stubborn players being ruffed up a bit.
"Ma'am, you have to go," One man said to her.
The ground shook violently, as Argomon emerged from the floor above. "I SHOULD HAVE DONE THIS A LONG TIME AGO!"
"GLORIOUS BURST/ BIFROST!" ShineGreymon fired a fireball from above, while Kentaurusmon launched a powerful flaming arrow. The combination of attacks held Argomon in place.
"Amethyst Wind!" Sakuyamon stabbed her staff into the ground, causing an energy barrier to ensnare Argomon's left leg.
"GAOGA TORNADO!" MachGaogamon spun around Argomon's left knee, delivering a bombardment of powerful blows. Agil jumped onto the appendage and slammed his hammer into it respectively.
"BLACK OUT!" Crowmon's body emitted a black aura that nailed the eye on Argomon's left shoulder. Klein slashed the eye on his right shoulder.
"LILA SHOWER/ LUNATIC DANCE!" The team of Silica, Lisbeth, Lilamon, and Cresmon attacked the many tendrils on Argomon's back.
"Is this all you can do, it's annoying," Argomon groaned at the multitude of attacks. He raised his hand again for another Brute Force. However Craniummon grabbed it.
"It's called a distraction," He smirked, then motioned to the area above the Monument of Life. Over it was Jesmon, having absorbed the three fire spirits. Each of his blades was powering up by their energies emitting a blue aura.
"This ends now, ROYAL STARBURST STREAM!" With even greater speed, Jesmon flew at Argomon, then dragged the empowered blade into Argomon's chest.
"This is for Sachi," SLASH
"This is for Yui," SLASH
"This is for Diavel," SLASH
"And this is for the lives you two have ruined!" Glowing brighter, Jesmon delivered a powerful 32 hit slash combo, ripping through the in-training Argomon. Eventually ending with a devastating stab, piercing though both Argomon and Kayaba from within.
"D-damn you all," Argomon gasped with his dying breath. Argomon's Mega form had become a dull grey, collapsing into ash.
It was here an automatic chime kicked in. "ATTENTION ALL PLAYERS, SWORD ART ONLINE HAS BEEN OFFICIALLY CLEARED, THE GAME WITH NOW END. PLEASE LOG OUT NOW AS THE SEVERS WILL BE DELETED WITHIN THE HOUR!"
Everyone was silent for a moment, and then they cheered. The Digimon began to vanish in pixelated aura, implying they were being returned to the Digital World.
"Cutting it close kids," Gankoomon said exhausted as he finished the return program. Now all the Digimon would go back into the Digital World, including Argomon.
The Biomerged Digimon landed, reverting back to their separate components as other players happily began to log out as the others reverted back to rookie. The Royal Knights smiled and turned to leave.
"Please, tell Argo, I'm grateful to have met her," Kentaurusmon said, reluctant to show his sorrow.
"Goodbye Sasha," Craniummon thought sadly.
"I guess this means we go home," Kirito said, before he summoned his player menu. "But before we go, I just wanted to say, my names Kazuto Kirigaya,"
Everyone instantly knew what this meant.
"Asuna Yuuki, this is my first game," Asuna said with a smile.
"Andrew Mills," Agil said with a smirk. "I own a restaurant out in Tokyo, I expect you lot to visit,"
"Ryoutarou Tsuboi, local nerd," Klein cackled.
"Keiko Ayano, it's a pleasure to meet you all," Silica said with a smile.
"Rika Shinozaki, my hair will be brown when we meet again," Lisbeth said with a smile.
"Tai Kamiya, crest of courage," Tai continued.
"And my name doesn't need an introduction," A bone chilling voice said from behind. Everyone turned to see Akihiko Kayaba, not Heathcliff, walk out of Argomon's remains.
"What the hell," Asuna demanded, then ran up and punched him in the face.
"I deserved that," Kayaba said sadly, standing up.
"You're damned right you do," Andrew shouted infuriatingly. "Now what the hell do you want?"
"To give you all an important warning, one you need to heed when you're out in the real world," Kayaba said honestly. This needless to say caught everyone off guard.
"Warning, what warning?" Agumon said confused.
Kayaba specifically turned to Tai. "You know how there are four sovereign Digimon correct, yet I said five Digidestined?" Tai nodded a bit. "That's because my friend, Maki Himekawa's partner Tapirmon was sacrificed to cause that Digivolution," Everyone looked confused at that. "Maki broke after that, everyone noticed it, but in recent years, specifically after MaloMyotismon's world tour bit, she's been up to something,"
"You, you want us to watch out for her?" Kazuto asked confused.
Kayaba nodded. "Rinko will help you out, if she already hasn't," With that, Kayaba vanished into light. As he did, the partnered Digimon began to float to the sky, the new Digivices going with them.
"I guess this is it for now," Huckmon said sadly.
"We'll meet again soon," Renamon said with a smirk.
"Don't worry about us," Falcomon said.
"We'll be fine," Lalamon insisted.
"I'll miss you lot in the meantime," Gaomon said.
"My sole regret, is not meeting you all sooner," Lunamon said, reluctant to show tears.
"We'll be back Tai, don't you worry," Agumon said finally.
With a small smirk, Tai only had one thing left to say. "Let's go home,"
-Odaiba General Hospital-
With his strength, diminished, Tai slowly took the NervGear off his head, just as his family entered the room. "Hey, everyone,"
Kari made no attempt to hold back the tears as she grabbed her brother.
He was home.
-Sugou's lab-
"DAMN IT ALL!" Sugou slammed his fist into the console. He wanted to hack Sword Art Online and hold Asuna within, making her Titania in his VR game ALfheim Online. But someone locked him out, almost like they knew his plans.
"So close, yet so far," A chilling voice said darkly. Sugou turned to see one of his victims out of his tube. The teen boy was in the same age range as Tai and the original team was now his hair was bleach white. "But now, you've used up your usefulness, now begins the rise of the Bio-Hybrids!" A broke black blade emerged from his one hand, covered in red energy.

"NO!" Sugou screeched as the attacker killed him.
And done with chapter 20. Yup, for a late Christmas/ early New Year's gift, I'm giving you all a double update. It would have been up sooner, but like I said before it was kind of emotional for me to write. That and there was some family stuff and life got in the way. Now before I go, I have some things to address.
For starters, I'm just speculating for Kayaba's partner with the help of Wikimon. All we know about the nameless three partners were one was Triceramon, one was Orochimon, and the final partner was HippoGriffomon. From this, my way of going was Candlemon to FlareLizardmon, then Triceramon, and finally Azulongmon. I got the idea to make Kayaba one of the original five from both Autistic-Grizzly, and a nameless reviewer I accidently deleted.
Second, the bio-hybrids have already been chosen. All I will say is each is meant to be a mega leveled counterpart to the eight 01 team members. Which is which, well, it's a surprise. And no, as most of you could probably have guessed, while TK is a bio-hybrid too, his form won't be ShadowSeraphimon.
