"So, Lily, are you going to the boys' dormitory tonight?" Marlene Price sat down at a chair facing her friend's.
"No," Lily raised her eyebrow, "I was not planning to, given that I'm just hearing about this now."
"Oh, well Remus told me to make sure you knew," Marlene glanced both ways before continuing. "Sirius bought a bunch of firewhiskey and they want you, Mary, and I to come up and play some drinking games with them."
"Marlene, you know that I have an exam on Monday. I don't want to be hungover all of tomorrow," Lily kept her voice low as she listed her utterances. She didn't want to disturb Madame Pince or cause a ruckus in the library.
"C'mon Lily, you know you need a break from your studying. Plus, James Potter will be there," Marlene widened her brown eyes and stared at Lily.
"Are you trying to convince me to come tonight or to avoid this get together at all costs?" Lily glared at her friend.
"I'll see you at nine, Lils," Marlene picked up her bookbag lying behind her and stood up. She seemed to nearly prance as she exited the library.
Lily laughed at her friend's antics under her breath. Despite the looming threat of her potions exam, the prospect of drinking and hanging out with the marauders brought a smile to her face. Amidst all this excitement, Lily couldn't help but dwell on Marlene's comment about James Potter.
Since the beginning of seventh year, James and Lily had started becoming closer. At first, Lily attributed her tolerance of James with their shared head responsibilities. However, as time passed, Lily realized she genuinely enjoyed spending time with him, and that James wasn't always the entitled, bratty, and selfish boy she had written him up to be.
A few weeks ago, both Gryffindors lay on the same red couch in their common room. Hours had transpired since they had finished organizing their last patrol schedule. Instead of curling up in bed like she typically would on a Sunday night, Lily somehow found herself engaged in a conversation about family with her former archenemy.
"And yeah, that's kind of how Petunia's been treating me the past couple of years," Lily sighed as she concluded a long rant about her family dynamic.
"Ah, I'm sorry," James' brow crinkled as he uttered these words. "You're a good person, Lily. You don't deserve to be treated that way," James had looked down at Lily with a reassuring smile.
Lily glanced back up at him. She gulped as she noticed the proximity of her face to his own. Her green eyes, locked to his hazel ones, only stood inches apart from one another. As Lily sat there, staring into James Potter's eyes, she found her face tilting toward his. Slowly, James moved his right hand to Lily's cheek, before meeting his lips to hers.
Kissing James was an enchanting experience. Which might be why when Lily Evans walked into the head's office the next day prepared to justify and rectify her past actions, she instead found her lips pressed to James' again.
Lily hoped things wouldn't be awkward between the two of them that night. She couldn't deny her increasing attraction to James, but she also couldn't ignore the feeling of uncertainty arising in her stomach when she thought about their current situation.
As the night approached, Lily, Marlene, and Mary made their way up to the boys' room. Walking up the stairs, Lily found herself in a watchful state, hoping no one would catch them wandering around the boy's dormitories this late at night. If her friends weren't walking with her, Lily would worry every person she passed would presume she was meeting a hook up. It would make sense, considering just how many women had wondered up these stairs to the Marauders' room searching for exactly that.
Eck. That was one thing that bothered Lily about the Marauders. She wasn't a judgmental person, but the amount of women Sirius alone slept with concerned her. From a safety perspective if nothing else.
After ascending the staircase, Marlene knocked softly at the door.
"Welcome, welcome!" Sirius Black stood in the doorway with a bottle of firewhiskey in his right hand and the perpetual mischievous grin he wore sloppily pinned to his face. "How are you lovely ladies doing tonight?"
"Just fine, thank you," Mary smiled. The women pushed past him, and Lily immediately noticed Remus and Peter seated on the ground near Sirius' bed.
"Hey!" Remus called out. "Feel free to have a seat," he motioned to the few square feet of empty space on the floor in front of them.
"Alright, well, make some room for us," Marlene smiled as she sat on the ground next to Remus, giving him a playful push. Following Marlene, Mary plopped next to Peter.
Before Lily could sit down, she heard a deep voice come from behind her.
"I see someone took a break from their studies to finally have some fun."
Lily whirled around, only to see James Potter standing in front of her, smirking. "Excuse you, Potter, but I have plenty of fun."
"Sure, sure," James' eyes flashed. "Let's see how that goes tonight."
"Is that a challenge?" Lily glared at him, failing to resist the smile that began to overtake her face.
"Oh, enough of the flirting, you two," Sirius yelled. "Let's get fucking hammered already."
Lily quickly made her way to the spot where the rest of her friends sat. James scooted up and sat on her right side. Soon, Sirius followed with two bottles of firewhiskey.
"Alright, what are we playing?" Remus asked.
"Kings!" Peter enthusiastically suggested.
Everyone groaned. "Peter, seriously, we've played kings the last three weekends," Sirius retorted.
"I know, that's because it's fun!"
"No, we need to change it up," Sirius insisted.
Before Peter could retort, James spoke up, "Sorry mate, but I'm with Sirius on this one. Anyone have any better suggestions?"
"Truth or dare?" Mary suggested nonchalantly.
"What are we, third years?" Sirius laughed.
"Laugh all you want, Sirius Black, but I think a drunk game of truth or dare could be a lot of fun," Marlene smiled at Mary.
"What rules would we play with?" Remus asked.
"Hmmm," Mary scratched the side of her head. "Regular truth or dare rules I guess."
"What happens if someone refuses to answer their question or finish their dare?" James asked.
"Drink!" Sirius shouted, lifting the bottles of firewhiskey seated next to him above his head.
"Sounds good to me," Marlene quipped. Everyone else nodded in agreement.
"So, who's starting?" James asked.
"I think Sirius should start," Marlene turned to face the dark-haired boy seated beside her.
"I'm fine with that, as long as we all agree to a swig before we begin," Sirius picked up the firewhiskey bottles and began passing them around the circle.
"Alright," Sirius began once everyone had taken a sip from the bottles. "Marlene, truth or dare."
"Hmmm," Marlene smiled. "Truth."
"Was it just a rumor, or did you really fuck Michael Armstrong at the back-to-school party in the beginning of sixth year?"
"No, that was Gregory Atkinson," Marlene admitted.
"I knew something happened that night," Sirius muttered under his breath. "Alright Marl, your turn!"
Marlene purveyed the group. "Remus, truth or dare?"
"Uh, dare," Remus started drumming his fingers against the floor.
"Stand on the bed and do a strip tease for all of us," Marlene smiled.
Remus rolled his eyes. However, instead of reaching for the bottle of firewhiskey, he stood up on the bed and started shaking his hips.
As Remus slowly began to remove his shirt, Lily couldn't help but gape.
Although Lily often found herself repulsed by Sirius' personality, she had to admit that objectively, Sirius was an attractive man. Same with James. Surrounded by two of the best-looking blokes in the whole school, Lily had failed to notice Remus' good looks. Until now. Now, she couldn't stop staring at size of his arms as he flexed them to remove his shirt.
"Whoa, look at that arse!" Sirius yelped as Remus began to remove his trousers. Clearly, Lily wasn't the only one admiring Remus' assets. Sirius stood up and jokingly slapped his friend's barely clothed butt as Remus awkwardly wiggled it for his captive audience.
After this gesture, Remus plopped down on the edge of the bed: "Alright, I'm done. Wormtail, truth or dare?"
"Uh, dare," Peter shrugged.
"I dare you to try and seduce Mary whenever possible for the next round," Remus smirked.
"The next round?" Peter's eyes widened as Remus nodded his response.
Lily could hear James whisper quietly behind her, "Oh god, Evans, you better watch this. Peter cannot effectively talk to anything with a vagina to save his life."
"I'm excited," Lily laughed. She felt the warmth of the firewhiskey burning in her cheeks.
"Mmmm Mary," Peter looked so uncomfortable. "I fancy that shirt, if you know what I mean," Peter tried to run his teeth through his lip.
"HAHAHHAH," Sirius started rolling on the ground laughing at Peter's seduction attempt, and Lily could also hear James chuckling quite loudly behind her.
"Fuck y'all, I'm done with this," Peter grabbed the bottle of firewhiskey and took a swig.
"Boo," Marlene looked at Peter, "You're no fun!"
"Honestly, kind of glad you caved there," Mary laughed.
"Alright Peter, since you took the cowards way out, you can proceed with the game," James jeered.
"Alright Prongs, truth or dare?" Peter smiled maliciously.
"Truth!" James raised his voice as he made his decision.
"Have you ever wanked when Sirius was in the room?"
The room went silent. Remus looked like he was trying to contain a serious bout of laughter, as did Marlene. Mary on the other hand, squirmed in her seat. Lily's eyes though, fell on James. While James possessed his usual calm demeanor, Lily noticed his right leg twitching rather unnaturally.
"Wormtail, why the fuck would you…" James ran his hand through his messy brown hair. "Sirius– " James turned to his best friend, a pleading look in his eyes.
"Go on James, answer the question," Sirius smile seemed to widen, if that were at all possible.
"If you don't wanna answer, you can always take the cowards way out," Peter motioned to the firewhiskey.
"Well then, to answer your question," James lowered his voice. "Yes, I have. But only once."
"OOOOHHH!" Remus stood up, covering his mouth.
"You did it when he was in the room?" Marlene looked around, eyes widening.
"James, I knew you were a horny motherfucker, but honestly, this?" Sirius asked.
"Listen, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do!" James tried to defend himself.
"The man's got a point," amusement danced in Remus eyes as uttered these words. "I guess it's no worse than that time you screwed Pam Davies while I was sleeping in the same room, is it?"
"What? You and Pam? Why didn't I know about this?" Marlene raised her voice.
"I knew about it alright," Remus laughed. "She was screaming louder than Sirius does when he stubs his toe."
While Sirius tried to defend his inability to tolerate pain, the rest of the room erupted into laughter.
As Lily's own laughter began to subside, she turned around and glanced at James. To her surprise, he was looking right at her.
I'm sorry, he mouthed.
You and Pam? she mouthed back.
James rolled his eyes and shook his head: I'll tell you about that later. Stupid.
"Alright, enough about this stuff, let's get back to the game," Mary spoke out as the laughter died.
"Thank you, Mary," James ran his hand through his messy hair. "And now that everyone knows many details of my sex life, I guess it's my turn. Evans, truth or dare?"
"Um, dare."
"I dare you to suck Sirius' toe!"
"Ew, no way!"
"Then drink!" James laughed.
"Can I suck his finger?"
"No that doesn't count!" James swatted the air as if to dismiss Lily's question.
"C'mon James, take it easy! Lily could be putting her life in danger by sucking Sirius' toe," Marlene piped up.
"Alright fine, compromise. Half a sip if you suck Sirius' finger instead of toe."
"Alright," Lily sighed.
"But make it sexual, or you have to chug," James asserted.
"Now that's fair," Sirius smiled.
Lily grimaced. She made her way over to Sirius and picked up his hand. She stared into his gray eyes as she slowly began to bring his hand up to her face. Without moving her green eyes from his gray ones, she stroked his middle finger a few times, then slowly enclosed her hand around it's width, pumping it up and down. After a few pumps, she brought the finger up to her mouth and placed it between her lips. She sucked her lips together and slowly moved them up and down, up and down, on Sirius' middle finger. She didn't stop until Marlene interjected with, "Alright, I've seen enough of that!"
"Great work, Lily," Sirius commented slyly when Lily finally removed her mouth.
"Sod off Sirius," Lily remarked.
"Now here, have a mild swig," James handed Lily the firewhiskey bottle, and as he transferred it from his right hand to her left, his skin brushed against her own. Lily took a small swig.
"Happy?" Lily glanced at James, who smiled.
"I for one, am extremely happy." Sirius piped up. "Your turn, sweetheart."
"Alright, well, um Mary, truth or dare," Lily asked.
"Dare, I guess," Mary responded.
"I dare you to sing your favorite song at the top of your lungs!"
After Mary completed her task, she directed her focus to Sirius.
"Sirius, truth or dare?"
"Dare, of course," Sirius voice remained ever so suave, even in his drunken state.
"I dare you to empty the contents of your bedside drawer one by one and show all of us each item you keep in there."
"Oooooo that's a good one," Remus leaned over, extending his hand for Mary to high-five.
"Alright, if you really want me to," Sirius stood up and walked toward his drawer. After pulling it open, he first removed a tattered book. "First, we have my potions book," as he flipped it over in his hand, Lily noticed it lacked a cover. "I haven't used this thing since like, the first day of school this year." Sirius tossed the book onto his bed. "Next, we have this, an angry letter from my mother," Sirius faux grinned as he discarded the letter onto his bed. "Here we go! We also have a chocolate frog card, a pack of cigarettes, lube," Sirius tossed all the items onto his bed. "And in the way back here, lady's knickers," Sirius removed black and red lace panties from his drawer. "And a used condom," Sirius unashamedly held up a tiny sleeve of rubber.
"EW! Put that thing down!" Marlene snapped.
"Mary asked!" Sirius shrugged.
"Padfoot, why can't you throw your condoms away like a normal bloke?" James rubbed his hand through his hair.
"Says the wanker!"
"I have to admit, both of you are pretty disgusting," Peter scratched his head.
"Sorry you just don't get laid as much as we do, Wormtail," Sirius snarled.
"I've had sex while managing to not be a pig, thank you," Remus interjected.
"All I'm saying is I followed through with the dare," Sirius exclaimed. "And before the next round of this stupid fucking game, let's all take another swig." Again, Sirius passed around the whiskey. When it came to Lily, she found herself taking a bigger swig than usual. As she downed the bottle, she glanced behind her at James, who grasped at the other bottle of firewhiskey. Lily watched as James wrapped his fingers around the neck of the bottle and slowly brought the firewhiskey to his lips. James took a quick sip, then set the bottle down. As he moved his arm downward, his eyes met Lily's. James mouth curved into a slight smile, revealing only his right dimple.
"Alright, Lily, you're up again," Sirius stared at Lily, and she quickly turned her eyes around to face him. "Truth or dare?"
"I'm going truth," Lily shrugged.
"Who was your first time?"
Lily looked at her friends, Mary and Marlene, as Sirius let out these words. She gulped. "Um, I haven't had sex."
"WHAT?" Sirius practically screamed.
"It's not that big a deal Sirius," Lily could almost feel James' eyes on the back of her head.
"Sorry, I'm not trying to offend you, it's just like half the blokes at this bloody school would sacrifice their entire Gringotts account to sleep with you," Sirius glanced at James.
"I'm just waiting for the right person," Lily directed her focus to the carpeted floor.
"I think it feels good with anyone," Sirius laughed.
"I dunno, I think its nicer when you love someone," Remus commented.
"You see, that's the thing, I've never been in love!" Lily motioned to Remus, emphasizing his point.
"What about Collin?" Lily heard James' deep voice. Lily sighed. In a previous late-night conversation, Lily had revealed bits about her relationship with Collin to James. James knew Collin and Lily had dated for around eight months from the end of fifth year to the middle of sixth year.
"I don't know, I thought that was love," Lily shrugged. "But now, I don't think so anymore. I mean I almost had sex with him, but for some reason it never felt right."
"Damn, that's some self-control," Sirius commented as he took a swig of the firewhiskey bottle.
"Remus, truth or dare?" Lily turned to face the other Marauder.
"Dare," Remus responded.
"I dare you to kiss Sirius," Lily smiled. Payback for the last question.
"Is that cool with you?" Remus looked at Sirius.
"Why the hell not?" Sirius shrugged.
Remus picked up the bottle of firewhiskey, sipping it quickly, before leaning over in Sirius' direction. After leaning over, Remus moved his hand to Sirius' cheek, then brought his friend's face in as he gently kissed his lips.
"How's that for ya?" Remus looked up after removing his lips from Sirius'.
Lily nodded, and James slowly began to clap.
Sirius, meanwhile, lifted the bottle of firewhiskey and took a few long sips. After he finished, he put the bottle down and looked at Lily: "That turn you on?"
Lily shook her head. Sirius glanced back at Remus, "Why'd we do that then?"
"I don't know mate, but that turned me on," Remus smiled.
Lily glanced behind her to see James laughing at his friends. She smiled to herself.
"It's my turn now," Remus glared. Mischief danced in his eyes. "James, truth or dare,"
"Dare," James responded.
"I dare you to spend seven minutes in heaven with Lily," Remus smiled.
"Um, where?"
"The bathroom?" Remus suggested.
Lily saw James' eyes make their way to her.
"I'm okay with that," she consented.
James stood up, then grabbed Lily's hands and carefully helped her off the ground.
Lily followed James into the bathroom where they locked the door behind them.
"We can just talk, if you want," James leaned against the wall.
"Were you expecting anything different, Potter?" Lily over-emphasized every word coming out of her mouth.
"No, not at all, you just seemed so eager to come in here is all."
"Oh, how nice of you to presume. Did it not cross your mind that I just wanted to avoid taking another shot?"
"Whatever you say, Evans," James smiled as he ran his hands through his messy hair.
"So, you and Pam Davies?" Lily asked after a second of silence.
"That was just a hook up in the beginning of fifth year. I thought it'd be cool to get with someone older."
"Was it?" Lily swallowed as she asked this question.
"Bit overrated. Pam was fine, but I guess it's like Remus said, I didn't love her."
"Have you been in love?" Lily asked.
"I don't think so," Potter shrugged. He thought for a second, then asked, "Isn't that the thing? Wouldn't I know?"
"I guess, but don't ask me."
The room fell silent again. After a pause, James spoke up, "Do you ever wonder what sex is like?"
"I mean, yeah," Lily glanced down at her feet.
"Sorry, I don't mean to make you feel bad or uncomfortable or anything."
"Oh, it's fine," Lily shrugged.
Lily shook her head. She looked back up at James' blue eyes, his tanned shoulders, and his hand again running through his tangled black hair. As James messed with his curls, Lily lifted her left hand and grabbed James' wrist as it almost finished its course through his head. Lily picked it up and placed it at his side. Instead of removing her hand from his, though, she let it linger, and continued staring into his eyes. Before she knew what was happening, James picked up his left hand, stroked her cheek, and slowly brought his lips down to meet hers. He remained there for a few seconds, kissing her passionately and deeply. Lily breathed in his smell and tasted his taste. After the few seconds expired, James took a step back, gazed into Lily's eyes, smiled, and then went down for another kiss, this one even more deep and more passionate. James removed his arm from Lily's grasp on the right side and then used it to cradle her lower back. Bringing her closer to him, he began to kiss her more fervently. As his kissing intensified, Lily let out a soft moan.
"You like that?" James smiled mischievously.
This time, Lily brought her lips to his. She kissed him deeply still, but her form was hindered by her drunken state. Unable to resist the urge, Lily picked up her hands and ran them through James' black hair. Before she knew what she was doing, she let her hands trail softly down his torso until they arrived at the brink of James' trousers. Her hands began to toy with the hem of his trousers, but instead of moving down and beneath his trousers, Lily brought her hands back up and begin to lift James' shirt. James helped her pull it over his head. The two continued kissing, and this time Lily let her hands explore James muscular chest and back.
"Your turn," James smiled as Lily put her hands up. James kissed her stomach, his mouth trailing behind the motion of his hands. When he reached her breasts, he looked into her eyes, "May I?" He asked.
"Yes," Lily smiled.
James unclasped the lace bra. He stood there for a second, and Lily could tell he was admiring her tits. "Nice," he smiled. His hand reached for them, and he began to pet and stroke them. As he did, Lily began to moan rather loudly.
Lily never wanted James to stop kissing her. The more James kissed her, touched her, stroked her, the more Lily felt like she needed to let it all out. As this feeling increased, so did her moaning.
After one particularly teasing touch, James removed his hand from Lily's trousers and brought it to her face. He moved the hair behind her hear, then brought his lips tantalizing close to her cheek: "You gotta be quiet Evans, or everyone will be able to hear you," he whispered.
Everyone! Lily had forgotten about everyone else.
"Oh, James, we should probably, um, go back to the game," Lily felt a tiny pang of vertigo wash over her.
James laughed. "Okay, but you're going to need to put your shirt back on."
After tidying up, the two slipped out and returned to the main room.
"Ho ho ho, the couple is back!" Peter smiled.
Lily looked at James, her cheeks reddening.
"I just had major Pam Davies flashbacks," Remus glared at James suggestively.
"God, I was getting a tad hard just listening to all that moaning," Sirius smirked.
Lily looked to the ground, a surge of fear washing over her. There was no way her friends heard the sound of her moans.
"James, I told all of them there was something going on between you two but none of them believed me!" Marlene huffed.
"What's it like to finally put it in Lily Evans after all these years?" Sirius ran his hands together.
Lily shielded her face with her hands. She was never going to live this down.
"Stop, Sirius, for real," James tone suddenly sounded firm. "Enough of the joking, all of you," he was perfect parts commanding and kind. After he spoke, the room fell silent for a second.
"Sorry Lils, good fun," Marlene met her eyes to Lily's. "Hope I didn't offend you."
So no one actually heard her moaning! Lily released a sigh of relief. She turned behind her to communicate this feeling to James. As she turned to face him, she noticed his eyes were already locked on her. He smiled when she caught her gaze.
You're hot, he mouthed.
Thank you. Lily smiled back.
