Chapter 1

Hi, this is not my first fanfiction but I'm still pretty new. I just wanted to try out something new, I worked hard on this and had a lot of fun, so please read, review, and I hope so enjoy

Disclaimer I do not own Diary of a Wimpy Kid or the characters characters, only the plot and characters I have created.

It was a hot day when Rodrick pulled into the school parking lot. He jumped out of his van but quickie stumbled back when a blue jeep blasting music pulled in right where he was.

He was about to yell at the person who almost ran him over when he looked up and saw the driver. The Jeep had no top so he could see her very well. She was curly, short, shoulder length, dirty blond hair and bright green eyes that were framed with thick eyeliner. Her face had light freckles and a small button nose in the middle of his face. Her all black outfit lay loose over body.

She looked over and saw him standing and staring at her. She rolled her eyes and jumped out of the car through where the window should have been.

It took a second before Rodrick realized he had just been standing there. He shook his head and walked into school. He must have looked so stupid. He reached class and sat down next to his friends.

"Hey, kids." The teacher walked in. Everyone moved to face the front of the class. "I would like to introduce our new student." A girl walked in. It was the girl he had seen in the parking lot. She had a dark green backpack slung over one shoulder and he could see she had orange shoes on too. She looked uncomfortable standing in front of everyone. "This is Nicole." Everyone was silent.

"Ok, well then, Nicole. Why don't you go sit down in that free seat over there." She pointed to the seat behind Rodrick. She walked over and slumped down into the chair.

The teacher talked for a long time but after a while she let us find partners for the class project.

"Hi." Rodrick turned around to face Nicole. He smiled at her.

"Hi." She leaned on the desk.

"I was thinking, sense you don't know anyone, do you wanna be partners?"

"Sure." She said, and leaned back in her chair to kick her shoes up on the table.

"Really?" Rodrick was surprised how easily she said yes.

"Yah, I mean your right, I don't know anyone so why not."

"Cool, um… so, do you want to come over to my place to work on the project. I'll give you a ride in my van."

"What about my Jeep?"

"Right. Um… you can follow me to my house."

"Ok. Rad" She said.

"Ok." He turned around. He turned back around slowly. "Rad?"

"Yah, you know, like it's cool but it's rad."

"Right. What year is it?"

"I know, but I liked the 80's. They had the best music and the best everything."

"mmmk."

The rest of the class went by pretty quickly. The teacher asked him to stay after school to talk about his grades but this wasn't that different then other days. When he left she was waiting outside leaning on his van.

"Off the van." He motioned at her to get off and she walked around and hopped over her door into the driver's seat. "Why do you do that?"

"Do what?"

"Not use your door."

"Oh, it's kind of an old car and the door doesn't really work." He shrugged and got into his van.

As he drove home he could see her riding close behind. With no roof he was able to see the wind blowing through her hair and out of her face. He could also see her singing along to the rock music she was blasting through her speakers. She was listening to Should I Stay or Should I Go by The Clash. He had remembered hearing his parents listening to it.

They reached his house, he rode into the driveway and she parked in the street.

"Welcome to my house." He gestured to the house. It was nice. It looked like a basic suburban house but it was nice.

"Rad." She looked over her shoulder at him and smirked.

They walked in and immediately they heard a woman yell from the other room.

"Rodrick, is that you."

"Yah mom, it's me."

"Could you come in and help me with manny?"

"Ok." They walked in and a woman with orange hair was sitting on the floor with a baby

"Oh hi." The woman looked up and saw Nicole standing in the doorway.

"Hi, I'm Nicole. I'm just here to study with Rodrick."

"Oh ok." She smiled at her. A young boy walked into the room.

"AAAHHHHHH. There's two of them!" Nicole laughed at his comment and Rodrick chased the boy out of the room. Rodrick appeared behind Nicole and directed her up to his room.

"This is my room. Make yourself at home." He lived in the attic. It was small but charming. "Is it 'totally tubular' or something?"

"Yes your room is totally tubular." She laughed. She had a nice laugh. It was earthy and low and shook the room. "So, where do you want to get started?"

"I guess with the reading."

"Sure. So we read the pages then work on our allegory"

"Ok."

"Do you have your book?" Nicole walked over to her backpack

"Nope. I forgot it at school." He lay down on his bed with his hands behind his head. She sighed and pulled out Animal Farm. She sat down next to him on his bed and started reading.

"It was a bitter winter. The stormy weather was followed by sleet and snow, and then by a hard frost which did not break till well into February." She looked over at Rodrick. "Are you even listening"

"Hmmmm? Oh yah, snow, bitter winter, hard break, all that good stuff." She turned her whole body around to face him.

"Come on, this is important."

"Why. It's not like this will really change my grade. I'm already failing."

"I know it might be shocking but it's not all about you." He turned a little on his side so he was right next to her lying down.

"What? You have good grades?"

"No, but if I don't get my grades up, my parents will kill me and I kind of like living."

"Ok fine. But I'm doing this for you."

"Oh thank you. You are so generous."

"I know." He got up with a sigh and sat behind her so he could read over her shoulder. They finished the chapter.

"Ok ready for the allegory."

"Oh but I'm so tired."

"Fine, go to sleep and I'll wake you up in like 10 minuets so we can do the project."

"Wait, really?"

"Sure. Go ahead."

"What will you do?"

"I might sleep too," Nicole got up. Rodrick moved over to make room.

"I mean, we just met but sure."

"Ha, you wish. I'll sleep on the floor." She put the book back and used her back pack as a pillow. She fell asleep almost instantly, she hadn't really realized how tired she was. She woke up and looked at her phone. It was 7. She definitely slept longer than 10 minutes but at least she would be able to make it home.

She got up and saw that Rodrick was still asleep. "Hey." She pushed his shoulder. "Get up."

He woke up with a start. "I'm up. I'm up." He saw Nicole standing in front of him. "Good morning."

"It's still night."

"What, no it's not. Look" He motioned to the window. It was lit up with bright light.

"Shit."

"What?"

"I spent the night."

"It's fine."

"No, it's not. I forgot to tell my parents, they are going to kill me." She grabbed her phone and texted her mom.

Nicole: I am so so sorry, I was over at Sarah's house and fell asleep.

Mom: It's fine just be home today.

Nicole: Thank you

"It's cool, I sorted it out."

"Well that was easy."

"Yah, but your name is going to be Sarah for now."

"What? Ok." They heard someone walking up the stairs. They looked at eachother and Nicole grabbed her stuff and hid behind a chair.

"Oh your up." She recognized his mom's voice. "Just come down when you want to eat breakfast."

"Ok." Rodrick said uncomfortably. She walked back downstairs and Nicole walked out from behind the chair.

"Do you want breakfast? We got frozen waffles."

"Sure, could you bring it up for me?"

"Ok. Be right back." Rodrick went downstairs and Nicole was left in his room alone. Her neck hurt a little from sleeping on the floor. She lay down on his bed and she sunk right in. She smelled her shirt. It wasn't great, she was going to have to ask Rodrick for his.

She heard someone walking up the stairs but she guessed it was Rodrick so she didn't hide. She sat up to look at him when she realized it was the young boy who had screamed yesterday.

"Um… hi" The boy just stood still. Suddenly Rodrick appeared behind the boy.

"Get lost." He said and the boy jumped and ran away. "And don't tell anyone you saw her here."

"Hi." She sat back on his bed.

"I thought I would have to try a bit harder to get you in my bed." He sat down next to her and set down a plate of waffles. She laughed a little and smiled at him.

"Thanks." She grabbed the food and took a big bit out of it. "You know we still didn't finish the project. I'll come over again tonight to work on it?"

"Sure."

"Oh and can I borrow a shirt?"

"Ok." Rodrick went through his drawers and tossed a white shirt at her. She held it out to look at.

"Loded Diper?"

"Yah, it's the name of my band." She shrugged and started to move to take her shirt off when she looked up.

"Could you turn around?"

"Oh yah, sorry." He turned around and she slid off her shirt and put on the other.

"Ok. I'm done." A little while later Nicole had to sneak out to avoid his family and jumped into her car and drove off.
