Natsu was in heaven! He got to confess his feelings and it actually went well, deciding to go on a date once they finished the job was way more than he ever expected. He glanced over at Gray and couldn't help but smile a little. Discreetly sniffing the air and smelling no one near them he reached over and took his hand. The ice mage jolted and wide shocked eyes looked at Natsu. Crap. Is this too much too fast? He did say he wanted to take things kinda slow maybe he isn't ready for this kind of intimacy yet. Just as he started to take his hand back he felt cold fingers entwine in his and looked over to see Gray with a light blush and a smile on his face.
"This much is fine Natsu. I just didn't expect it is all. I assume after telling you I want to take things slow that no one will see us."
The dragon slayer flashed a huge smile and raised their joined hands up and pressed a soft kiss to Gray's hand. "Everyone is inside the cabin and from the snoring I would say everyone is sleeping. What would you like to do in the meantime?"
Gray stopped and looked at Natsu intently. Honestly he still had questions but he wasn't sure how many he would actually answer. There were obviously holes in Sarah's story and it was driving him crazy to not know what Natsu had gone through. Also, though the two of them had issues with intimacy, Gray had a feeling that his were nowhere near as deeply rooted as his boyfriends. Boyfriend? Oh yeah. He chuckled lowly to himself. It would make sense to call him that even if they didn't use the word.
"Gray?" Natsu was looking at him with concerned eyes. "I know this is a lot all at once and I am sure you have questions. It can be slightly overwhelming for me to even think about, let alone talk about. So how about this? When we are going to be alone for a good amount of time you can ask two questions. I will answer to the best of my ability and if I'm uncomfortable answering we will hold off until a later time. Does that sound okay?"
Gray couldn't help but feel a little silly. Of course he wouldn't mind questions. He probably only held off telling him because of his feelings anyways. The two had always been close friends. Best friends really. Talking about something like this should come naturally regardless of the subject matter. Especially if they were going to try and enter a romantic relationship. "Sometimes I think you can read my mind. I would like that very much. But please make sure to tell me if it gets to be too much. I don't want to make you uncomfortable or feel like I'm prying. I just wanna know so i can help you. If we're going to be dating i don't want secrets between us."
"I agree. Why don't we find a comfortable place to sit and chat." Natsu veered off slightly to the left and walked slightly ahead of Gray. "If I remember correctly, there is a small spring up ahead here. I thought maybe we could go for a swim and you can think about your questions."
Gray just nodded his head and followed silently behind him lost in thought. He knew he had more questions about Amara and J, and he definitely had more questions about the fire mages feelings for him but he figured starting with something smaller would probably work out best. Deciding on a question he focused on the area they wandered into. It was a simple spring surrounded by trees and flowers. At the far end of the spring was a small waterfall and enough rocks to lean against while taking a break from swimming.
This place is beautiful and the water looks so nice, Gray thought wanting to go ahead and undress so he could swim for a bit. "You gonna stand there staring all day or are you going to join me?" Gray's head snapped up and he immediately blushed at the sight he was met with. Natsu was standing near the water with just his boxers on. His pink hair reflecting in the sunlight and a big goofy smile on his face. Grays eyes lazily wandered over his boyfriends body and he gulped trying desperately to push back the hentai thoughts going through his mind.
"Beautiful…" he muttered not thinking about the fact that Natsu could possibly hear him.
Natsu blushed and looked away "...uh thanks. I don't think anyone has ever said I was beautiful before." Then turned and jumped into the water. He came back up shivered a bit and splashed Gray with some water. "Come on! The water is perfect!" Still shaking the thoughts from his head he quickly took off his pants (which was the only thing he still had on) and jumped in. He swam down as far as he could enjoying the cool water on his skin. Natsu swam the small distance and wrapped his arms around Gray. "How about we consider that your first question? And as a bonus I can tell you some of mine and Sarah's back story. I could tell it bothered you that we were as close as we were earlier." Seeing Gray nod his head in agreement he swam over to sit on a rock while Gray stayed about chest deep in the water.
"There's a lot that i don't feel comfortable sharing about myself. My sexuality has been kept under wraps for the most part only people that I could smell attraction from know that I consider myself pansexual. Being a dragon slayer you know my sense of smell is heightened, but I'm not sure you know i can smell emotions."

"Its not a big deal. Sarah is a good friend and although we enjoy each other sexually there's nothing more there. She was her sister. Is her sister I guess. They don't talk anymore but they're still family. Sarah was a little skittish around me when we first met and it took a lot of time being kind to get her to warm up to me. Gray thought for a moment. He found out a great deal already but he had decided to ask about her so he would. Steadying his voice he said "How did you know your feelings for Lisanna changed? When she came back she was so clingy but you seemed indifferent to her really."
Natsu leaned against the rock and thought about his response. How did he know? Lisanna was so important to him. One of his childhood loves. When she 'died' he was devastated. Completely heartbroken. But when she had returned the feelings had changed to more of a family love than anything romantic. "I think it was a job the two of us went on. Do you remember the weird cat lady? She kept calling me Flame Brain after you said it, thinking it was my hero name or something like that?"
Gray laughed at the memory and nodded. "It was after that. We separated on the way home. You went to find food and I was in charge of the shelter. It had been sprinkling and we wanted to stay dry for the night. I found a cave to set up camp in and then all of a sudden I could smell your blood. It sent me into a rage i hadn't felt in so long. Natsu smiled and then quickly ran to shore. He heated up his body and quickly dried both of them off. Gray was shocked but decided it made sense. He knew Natsu had complete control of his magic and knew he was safe. They separated quickly to get dressed and Natsu ran into Gray giving him a quick peck on the lips he said "Go along with it and try not to get too pissed off at me." Before the ice mage could respond he was punched in the face and sent flying out of the clearing of the spring and into a tree a few yards away. "I told you ice dick! I am going to finish the job! I may have stopped along the way but I still have a damn job to do!"
Gray shook his head and immediately jumped up "What the fucking hell Natsu!?"
Natsu quietly said back "They're almost here. Would you like to explain what we've been doing for hours?"
He stilled finally catching on to what Natsu meant by going along with it. "Oh. I'm sorry." He charged at Natsu and they began fighting in earnest. Both smiling and yelling playful yet hurtful words at each other. Gray couldn't believe how easy this all felt. Not ten minutes ago he was literally drowning in water and semen and now here they were okay fighting like it was the most natural recovery in the world.
Well, Gray thought, here we go. He smiled, dodging a punch from his boyfriend, to new beginnings.
