Chap 14: Graduate X Match X True Bloodlust
It was finally the day of evaluating, where Killua, Gon and Zushi are going to be evaluated in their hatsu to show whether they have passed or not. Both Kallua and Karuze are present as well for the evaluating to see their growth.
"Now, show me what you've accomplished with your training" Wing said with interest, the same with both Kallua and Karuze eyeing them as Wing said "Killua-kun, you're first"
Killua goes over the table with glass of water on it with a nod and short "okay" then start his ren. After few minutes of intense staring, Killua was done then letting everyone to taste. Wing, the first who gets the taste widen his eyes in surprise.
Zushi exclaimed "its sweet!"
"Wow, it tastes like honey" Gon added while Karuze gives a disappointed look and muttered "average, I can do better"
Karuze gets a good whack at head from Kallua when not even a second passed after that word.
Nevertheless Wing gives approval look and deemed Killua passed while eyeing Karuze in anger.
Its Zushi turn next, Zushi tries his best to use his ren and concentrated hard as he sweat profusely to let out his ren in long but the leaf only tilt and spins slow that Kallua goes to cover Karuze's mouth, knowing he is about to say lines of "That's nowhere near your level, host" and in the end, Wing thinks its not enough for pass and asking Zushi to train more.
Lastly, it was Gon's turn.
Gon took a deep breath before lets out her ren, instantly because of the water pressure increased dramatically, the glass had a crack open, spilling the water everywhere causing both Zushi and Killua gasp in awe while Wing to panics and getting cloth to dry the water along with Kallua helping while asking Gon to stop, whom concentrating hard, stops suddenly and look wryly at both Wing and Kallua whom still trying to clean the mess.
"You really are something" Wing said and responded by Gon giggles a bit "I was feeling pretty good about this"
Wing look at both Gon and Killua with smile "Gon-kun, Killua-kun. Today is your graduation day"
Hearing that made both of them look excited as they congratulate each other for passing. Zushi look disappointed that he hasn't graduated yet and has to train more, of course Gon and Killua tries to cheer him up which responded by Zushi's bitter `Osu'.
"Gon-kun, I have something important to tell you" Gon look at Wing questionably " Something important?"
"Gon Freecs-kun, you have passed the Secret Hunter Exam!" Wing stated seriously, followed by puzzled looks by Killua and Gon.
"You've passed" Wing continues "Congratulations"
Gon look at Wing before then her gaze goes to Kallua and Karuze whom are standing near Wing and nodded then asked "The Secret Hunter Exam?"
"Correct. You were able to pass" Wing said and responded by Gon whom still confused "What do you mean?"
Wing starts to explain "You are required to learn Nen before becoming a Hunter, a professional Hunters are expected to be exceptionally strong. One fo your basic tasks as a Hunter will be apprehending evil poachers and criminals. You must be strong enough to fight crime. However, this power is highly destructive when used for wrongdoing. Revealing the existence of Nen during the Exam would be dangerous. Therefore-"
"The test is only administered to those who pass the public Exam" Karuze finished off Wing explanation, getting sharp dagger eyes from Kallua.
Killua decided to break the tension "Oh, so you were going to teach us, or at least Gon all along"
"Yes" Wing nodded "I should mention that the head Shingen-ryu master is Chairman Netero"
Hearing that name made both Killua and Gon had mixture of surprise, awkwardness, unbelievable look at the astonishing fact.
"The master has told me much about you" Wing said and responded by bitter words from Killua "That old man…"
"Killua-kun, Please take the Hunter Exam again. You will definitely pass next time. You are more than qualified. I guarantee it" Wing looks at Killua directly whom avert the gaze after seeing his girlfriend approval "Yeah, if I ever feels like it"
Gon then asked Wing if he did hear anything about others whom passed and Wing nodded as telling about the others "Hanzo and Kurapika have learned Nen from other teachers. Pokkle is struggling with Ren. Leorio has begun studying for medical school exam. Hisoka and Illumi already knew Nen, the same with Kallua so they were qualified"
Gon seems relieved after hearing both Kurapika and Leorio are working hard. It was then Wing stole a quick glance at Kallua whom merely staring in return. It continues for a mere three seconds before Wing calls out Gon.
"Now then Gon-kun, I have one warning for you. When you fight Hisoka tomorrow, don't push yourself too hard. All right?" In which responded with a nod by Gon.
It was then Kallua, Killua, Karuze and Gon are leaving with Wing residence. Wing goes to encourage Zushi for more training as Zushi looks down seeing how fast both Gon and Killua already surpass him.
"You should have more confidence. You are progressing at an incredible pace. You're a one-in-a-hundred-thousand talent" Hearing one in hundred thousand made Zushi amazed and pride as he bows before then destroyed by the next thing Wing said.
"However, those two are one-in-ten-million talents" Zushi lets out tears as hearing that didn't make him feel any better.
"Also" Wing shifted his gaze to look at Kallua's back "Kallua seems to be one-in-hundred-billion talents, could be same with Karuze"
Zushi gaped at that, so Kallua with Karuze is stronger than both Killua and Gon and further more than him too!?
"But.." Zushi continues "One day, I will definitely catch up!"
Wing gives a smile as he sees his determination pupil.
Before long, it was finally the time of Gon and Hisoka match. It had become a hot topic as lots of people had been waiting for this moment. The announcer words has boom towards the arena, commentating on the match and how the stands are packed. Some people are getting impatient, yelling for the match to start soon. Wing and Zushi did come for watch the match with the group. Kallua keeps twitching his eyes and Killua getting sweatdrop while Karuze narrowed his eyes, because Fraze is joining them and seated in same row and nearby seats.
"Why are you sitting in here when you can sit in best place the arena can provide for you?" Kallua spoke in low, hateful tone.
Fraze merely smiles at Kallua's attitude "Cmon~ I want to be close with you Kall-chan, though-" Fraze paused to see Killua and Kallua seat next to each other with Karuze in the middle while act as wall in between Kallua and Fraze "But seated like this is fine as well~"
"Shut up" both Kallua and Karuze mutter while Killua nudged Kallua and point with his chin "Its starting"
True to Killua's words, the arena suddenly pull in short blackout and smoke rising, revealing Gon whom arrives first as she march determinedly while ignoring other people comment about forgetting her fishing rod, can't beat Hisoka with bare hands, etc that made both Kallua and Killua narrow their eyes.
Few seconds in difference, with fire and smoke rising and Hisoka finally arrives and march at the center ring in ease walking manner. Tense atmosphere fall in between them but also in Kallua and Killua's together whom hoping nothing worse happening. Though facing Hisoka is already worst, just hoping it won't get any more worse.
The crowd cheers as both Hisoka and Gon are now in the ring center, facing each other. Kallua seems a bit disgusted, seeing Hisoka face had expression change in seeing his mother. Especially Fraze starts to chuckle which made Kallua look at Fraze with the same disgusted look.
"What are you chuckling at?" Kallua knows he would regret asking but cant maintain his curiousity.
"Ahh~ Hisoka is getting turn on" Fraze starts to lick his lips as he looks at Kallua "Im also like that with-"
Kallua instantly look back at the ring, ignoring Fraze rambles. Right on time, Hisoka starts to letting out his aura, successfully made some people tense. As Wing noted on how sinister Hisoka's aura is and instantly worries on Gon.
Gon lets out her aura in return, Killua gaze at Gon with firm, determined look in which Kallua realized, how much trust his father have towards his mother.
The path for the ring has sunken as the jury goes to tell the rules of no time limit, KO and points. Both fighters keep their distance before then the jury gives the start signal. It was then, Gon made the first move as she move towards Hisoka for strike but Hisoka reads it and chop her down, but she springs back up and attacks but Hisoka easily dodges then launches counterattacks and Gon tries to dodge some as well. No matter how much Gon attacking, Hisoka easily dodges and counter attacks. The commentator even at lost that unable to sneak in some comments especially when Hisoka finally getting one point for the clean hit. Even Kallua noted that Hisoka didn't move away from his spot. No matter how much close range combat his mother did, neither give damage at Hisoka, instead Hisoka able to give damage at Gon and looks notable too.
In sometime after, Hisoka gives chuckle and point the floor as he indicate that he still haven't moved a step from where he started.
"Huh? Really?" Gon seem taken aback as grit her teeth. In the spectator seats, both Kallua and Karuze gives facepalm at Gon's remark "Damn! Just you wait!"
Gon recalls her actions as she thought `Okay, I don't have to try to hit him with every attack. I can use some feints to get the same effect'
As Kallua look worried (didn't show it) he looks at Killua whom narrow his eyes as he thought `Hisoka's enjoying himself. In terms of actual skill, there's an insurmountable gap. But he still has a weakness, Hisoka knows that he's stronger, so he won't retreat. That gives Gon an opening!'
"Guess just few months training won't make her able to win" Karuze commented as Fraze shrugged "Who cares~ as long as their fight's over, Im going to have a fight with Kall-chan afterwards~"
Kallua only look at Gon with a soft yet piercing gaze, knowing how his mother always turn things around, she would be able to land a hit on Hisoka sooner or later.
It was then Kallua able to see Gon stare and smiled, knowing she must have figure something out.
Gon goes to dash towards Hisoka madly whom merely raise his hand in defense but Gon instantly jumps down, creating few after images and retreats as slide to maintain distance. She goes to grab the ring stone floor with a loud groan as she throws it upwards, facing Hisoka and shatter the block with a kick, creating hail of rubble. Of course Hisoka easily destroy every single rubble in his way but found out that Gon is no longer in her spot. She was camouflage herself on the rubble behind Hisoka then shows herself as before Hisoka could react, that enable Gon to land a punch at Hisoka's face directly, causing Hisoka to slide across few metres from the impact. At the sight of Gon able to hit Hisoka made both Killua and Kallua with Wing smile while Zushi looks excited. Fraze tilt his head with smile while Karuze made a `yosh' sound.
The audience made a roar applause at what Gon did. However, the commentator able to see that Gon's punch were didn't give much damage but the point was more than it should be. Before the commentator able to question the jury, someone answered that the referee is entitled to award points as he pleases. Some referees award points based on the amount of damage done, while some base scores on strategy and technique. I believe the referee in this case was rewarding the fighter for using the stone block in his attack. The commentator did understand the explanation, well thanks for the someone. Either way, back at the arena, it was then Hisoka moves towards Gon with a slight smile while Gon only stay still for a moment before she too moves towards Hisoka into the center of the ring.
It was then Gon rummages her pocket and lets out the #44 tag and handed it towards Hisoka and accepts it without any word. After their short exchange, both jumped backwards maintaining distance which leaving the commentator confused on that exchange.
Hisoka goes to play magic tricks on the tag, creating double , triple and fourth of the tag before causing it magically disappear. Gon stood still as remembering her time with Hisoka in hunter exam. Her train of thoughts then interrupted by Hisoka's question.
"How much have you learned about Nen?" which Gon answered "All of the basics"
"I see" Hisoka then points at Gon "You must be an Enhancer", hearing Hisoka accurate word, Gon shocked "H-How did you know?" in which responded by Hisoka chuckling "You are so adorable.. you should do a better job of keeping a secret"
"Uwehh…" Gon groaned a bit before narrow her eyes at Hisoka "Shut up! How did you know?"
"I used a method similar to the blood type personality test. And it's just as unreliable. I devised my own way of using personality to classify aura" Hisoka said as he raise his hand to point at Gon.
"No, look out!" Kallua called out loud as Hisoka points at Gon saying "Enhancers are simple and earnest"
"Egh.." Gon looks shocked at the relevation.
`He nailed it' Killua thought, referring Gon.
`He's right' Zushi thought as looking at Wing
"By the way, Im a Transmuter, fickle and dishonest" Hisoka stated, proudly pointing his hand at himself.
`It fits' Gon thought as look at Hisoka
`He nailed it' Killlua thought, referring himself.
"He's right" Kallua said, looking at Karuze whom frowning as looking at Kallua.
"Emitters have short tempers" Hisoka said afterwards.
"Oh, that's true in Killia's case" Fraze said and getting looks from Kallua for insulting his little sister.
"Specialists are independent" Hisoka continued, this time both Karuze and Fraze looks at Kallua whom merely return the look with bored look.
"Conjurers are high-strung" at that statement, both Kallua and Karuze look at Fraze and said "So fitting" and responded with Fraze smiling madly.
"Manipulators are argumentative" in which Fraze nodded as look at Kallua and Karuze said "Yeah, true" that Kallua only shook his head.
"The two of us are quite compatible. Our opposing personalities attract. We could become very intimate" Responding Hisoka's words, Killua gives Hisoka a glare from the seat but widen his eyes at what Hisoka said next "But you should take care, because Transmuters are fickle. It takes a mere second for treasure to turn to trash"
Hisoka took his fighting stance, letting his sinister aura" So.. do not disappoint me, Gon"
Hisoka starts to dash madly and sent Gon upwards with a kick, as she flied upwards, Hisoka dash through which made Killua unable to believe at how fast Hisoka is. Before Gon could land, Hisoka already land direct hit at her back. Not even when Gon able to stop herself from skidding, Hisoka didn't give her time to recover as he already in front of her to give her a kick but Gon managed to dodge the kick that able to send the floor tile flying all the way to the entrance making the audiences and commentator gaped.
Hisoka jump high then land a kick that fortunately dodged in time but as Gon tries to run, Hisoka able to chase her behind without difficulty. Their chase and attack, dodging continues, with Hisoka able to land direct hit and getting through her defense. Kallua narrow his eyes, knowing her eyesight must be getting blurry from the hit with her wobbly movement as evidence.
"Critical points for Hisoka. 3-2 Additional points" the referee announced, giving points for Hisoka as critical strike, making Hisoka getting the lead.
Gon takes distance and slowly circles as Hisoka asked "What's wrong, attack me" and Gon narrowed her eyes at that "Forget it! Im brainstorming!"
As Gon panted hard and trying to figure way out, Hisoka then telling he will force her to come as Hisoka slightly raise his hand which made Killua shouted "Gon! Use Gyo"
"Too late" Kallua simply stated that Killua widen his eyes at Kallua "We have been using Gyo since beginning, three of us" Kallua mention Karuze and Fraze as the others.
It was then Killua did use Gyo and see that Gon indeed already captured with bungee gum stick on her cheek as it connected with Hisoka index finger.
"Do you understand what is happening?" Hisoka goes to pull Gon whom is trying to resist, but when Hioska gives a slight tug, Gon finally drawn towards Hisoka like he wanted, and land a punch on Gon whom unable to dodge.
`This is my elastic love.. called bungee gum. It can expand and contract. And attach and detach as I desire..' Hisoka thought as look at Gon whom helplessly collapse "You won't be able to escape"
The audience roar at what Hisoka just did. The referee proceeds to give Hisoka for critical and down so its plus three points to Hisoka. Its 6-2 now for the points.
As Gon is down, Hisoka keeps move his index finger, wanting Gon to stand up. The same with audience, wanting the match to goes on as they also accuse the referee in helping Hisoka too much. It was then Gon finally stands up despite the difficulty. The referee asked if Gon and fight and answered with yes, and wobbling due to her senses still hazy.
"Okay, I have question for you" Hisoka ask suddenly which bring surprised gasp by Gon "If you answer correctly, I'll give you a free hit"
"What?" Gon seems a bit flabbergasted at that proposition. Despite her not answering, Hisoka continues to ask "When did I attach my Bungee Gum to your cheek?"
Gon goes silent as she tries to remember when, while Hisoka gives some multiple choice "1, when I elbowed you. 2, when I landed a clean hit. 3, when I landed a critical strike?"
After some thinking, Gon decided to answer "Three! When you hit me with both hands!"
"Bhuu! Wrong!" Hisoka said casually "the answer is four. When I was giving you my aura personality analysis" Gon become agitated hearing that `That's dirty!'
"If you hear strawberry-chan.." Hisoka eyeing Kallua whom starts to prick "He did warn you when Im about to latch bungee gum at you. It would be wise choice" hisoka then gives a wink at Kallua's direction.
"HIIIIIIII" Kallua starts to shiver in disgust while Fraze dislike that Hisoka set his eyes on Kallua "Hey Hisoka! Keep your eyes on your apple-chan! Hands off my strawberry-chan!" Karuze gives a good whack on Fraze's head "You shut up!"
Nevertheless, Gon seem to remember that Kallua is shouting warning. This made her grit her teeth as if she had been using Gyo from beginning..
"Now then, I have a warning for you. Had you been using Gyo, you would have been able to notice my aura, and you could have avoided it during my aura personality analysis. However, what about situations one, two and three?" Hisoka narrowed his eyes as he spoke, getting realization from Gon whom looking back at those situations.
"Have you figured it out? I could have also attached my Bungee Gum while directly attacking you. You only need to conceal your aura when you wish to catch your opponent off guard. Normally you use your aura while attacking. It doesn't matter if your opponent see your aura when you are landing attacks" After Hisoka's explanation, Gon agrees as if she cant dodge Hisoka's attacks, using Gyo to see his aura won't help.
`This is bad. His power's far more difficult ot handle than I expected!' Killua thought after evaluating their fight.
"So you have to dodge all of Hisoka's attacks if you want to avoid his Bungee Gum. But if you're able to defend…" Zushi goes with his theory but broken down by Wing "No, defending won't work. Even if you block, he can still attach his aura to the part you block with" Zushi seems down at his theory is easily shot down.
`I can't escape. What should I do?' Gon thought as Hisoka getting impatient and going to end their talk. "Let us prepare for battle. Resume" Right on that, Gon dash towards Hisoka with determined look `If I can't escape, I'll go to him'
The sight of Hisoka frozen and look at Gon is getting disgusted look by Kallua. He recognizes that look, it was the look of thrill that Fraze also have when they fight. Even he could see Fraze is getting the slight thrill look right now.
`Gon…Gon! Good… You are so good. Those eyes. That look..That spirit… ahhhn, uggh… I can't wait! to break you' Hisoka thought as lick his lips `But not yet..'
"Can't I just shoot him!?" Kallua getting emotional, seeing his mother was being looked into a very hideous look by Hisoka and already prepares his gun. Karuze immediately goes to hold him down "Oi! I know how you feel but calm down, look at how Gon go!"
Kallua sees with Gon letting out a loud roar, landing punch at Hisoka's face, stirring the audience as Gon keep punching Hisoka in rush.
`More…More! Until I can no longer bear to ruin you. Once you have matured… Until you've reached soaring new heights.. I must wait'
Fraze seems able to sense Hisoka's thought as he keeps shiver in delight and stealing glances at Kallua whom tries to ignore his staring. He knows the feel of having the sweetest delicacy such as his strawberry were able to provide. Such sweet, heavenly taste he won't be able to forget. And he has long to devour it, he will have his turn soon for that.
In that moment, Hisoka thought after getting enough damage. Hisoka draws Gon into another punch from his left fist. Immediately, Hisoka draws Gon back again, punching her whom able to block despite she is in her bungee gum mercy. In that time, the referee took notice of something, while Gon do somersault and landing while skidding as she thinks she is getting used to being dragged around by his bungee gum. Thinking it wasn't over yet, the referee brought shocking news.
"Critical for both sides! Plus two points! Plus a knockdown for Hisoka! Total scores are now 9 points for Hisoka, and 4 points for Gon! " in which Gon protested that she wasn't knock down but the referee didn't have any of it.
Even the audience agrees with Gon as thinking theres something wrong with the ref for giving more points and filled the arena with boos.
Thinking one point is all she has before the match is over made Hisoka chuckles "You must be more vigilant, Gon. Look to the right" in which Gon does so and get hit by rubble drawn from Hisoka's bungee gum at her left direction. "Oh sorry, I meant my right" Hisoka said in which in purpose way. Nevertheless, the referee granted down, and clean hit! Plus two points 11-4 thus declared Hisoka is the winner by TKO.
No loud cheers as they could still being in doubt with the ref. Still it bought relief for Wing, Zushi and Killua whom are in cold sweat. While Kallua look at Hisoka in narrowed eyes, trying to calm his bloodlust, with Karuze tries in support. Fraze only look down in silent, smirking widely.
It was then Hisoka revealed that when Gon was complaining to the referee, he sent the aura on his left hand to the stone and activate it when asking her to turn her head causing Gon to immediately unable to believe that it was all over but Hisoka compliment her progress and saying her experience lacking and about ten more fights, she should stand a better chance if they are in heavens arena at least.
As Hisoka walk away, he told Gon that he won't fight her in here anymore as Next time they fight, it would be in real world without any rules to restrain them with their lives on line.
It was then loud roar was heard from the audience seat, roar imbued with Nen that is so loud and wild with threatening calling made both Hisoka and Gon to look, the same with others to see that it was Fraze whom standing up then gives a smirk before yelling loudly once more.
"YOSSHHHAAAA!" Fraze gives a grin at Kallua "We can finally fight!"
A chop was then landed on top of Fraze's head, striking hard much to Kallua's pleasure as he says "Tomorrow, idiot!"
Fraze gives a whine at that "Why not now…"
Karuze gaped for a bit fore sigh heavily at Fraze's antics "Im at loss at your wild behavior"
In attempt to ignore Fraze, Kallua instantly stand and left without any word through the exit. While the audiences are still shocked and terrified at Fraze sudden outburst. As Gon sees Hisoka whom then goes far away, Hisoka seems to look in short glance at both Kallua along with Karuze and Fraze whom are now going away seems also seeing how far they were.
`But he's not out of reach. I need more training in Nen… to find a power that's as strong as Hisoka's!' Gon thought in determination.
In the announcement, it was reported that Hisoka getting ten wins and had the right to challenge a Floor Master. The referee was brought into interview, revealing the reason for adding points was for ending the match quicker since he thought it's getting dangerous as he is technical ref. Some people whine at that fact, given they lost the bet because of the referee type they should have put in consideration.
Afterwards, Karuze finally founds Kallua in empty alley, approaching him with a bit caution for he seems to be different.
"Hey" Karuze called out "You want me to spy on Fraze?"
Kallua shook his head as he look at Karuze "No need, I got this"
"You sure?" Karuze didn't trust his statement much "Your aura doesn't seem to say so but I will let it slide. Manipulators are argumentative after all"
"Che" Kallua click his tongue before then look at Karuze seriously "When I'm having match with Fraze, I'm going to have you to sit this one out" Karuze look shocked at that "Wait, what!? Are you planning suicide!? Especially from what Fraze might plan, I-"
"That's why I need you to sit this one out!" Kallua instantly yelled "Karuze, please. I need you for just watch in audience seat"
Karuze look at Kallua impassively "You knew something that I don't!?"
"Hunch" Kallua answer simply "But do trust me on this"
Knowing nothing will change his host mind, he reluctantly agrees "Fine, but be careful" Kallua nodded at that.
It was then Kallua and Karuze rejoin the others. Gon then starts to thank Kallua for giving her the opportunity a fight as she learns something from the fight in which Kallua merely nodded.
"Jaa, I'm going ahead first. There's something I'm going to prepare first. So, see you guys at the match" Kallua said then goes away quickly, Killua was about to chase after him but Karuze held him back.
"Oi, what was that about!" Killua gives a glare, demanding answer from Karuze.
Karuze lets out a sigh "We will know during the match. Let's hope nothing worse would happen in between them"
At Karuze's words, Wing grew slightly tense and at that time, somehow Killua get the same feelings on tomorrow may be having something happened.
Tomorrow passed like a blink of eye. The match of Kallua vs Fraze is finally held, in where everyone were getting fired up for witnessing the match of floor master Fraze against the challenger, Kallua. The commentator even commenting that both Kallua and Fraze have never ever suffer a single defeat in their record and in this match will be determined whom will their undefeated record will be broken.
"Kallua is amazing, osu. He is able to zip straight and then fighting the floor master!" Zushi said excitingly and instantly, Killua look down with Gon tries to cheer him up. Zushi had no idea what he said made Killua goes down but Karuze mainly ask Zushi to be quiet and Wing nodded to Zushi for understanding.
It was then Karuze noticed Hisoka in shadows, leisurely watching. Karuze knew it was a bad idea for him and Kallua to be apart, true that he wants to be apart with him some times but he would stick with him in a fight, no matter what. He hopes that his host had a plan, or else… he can't even imagine aside worst thing could happen.
Finally, after some audiences keep stirring for edging the match to start, blackouts starts for few seconds before open with mist surrounding the stage. After few moments, the mist starts to get thinner and reveal Fraze first whom wearing his brown cloak as he walks, then there's Kallua whom is also wearing black cloak as he walk to the ring center. Cheers began to fill the entire stadium as the moment they step into their ring, both of them instantly remove their cloaks, revealing their katana strapped on their backs.
"Uwooh, not only they both appear at same time in ahead of schedule, they are also revealing their weapons. It seems like both Kallua and Fraze will be using their katanas. Were they having a conversation or this is mere coincidence?!" Coco commented as both Kallua and Fraze maintain their distance in the ring.
"Point and TKO system, no time limit" The referee said as look at both fighter and gives signal "Begin!"
"CLASH, TRING, CLANG!"
Loud sounds immediately echoed within a half second of the signal, both fighters already drew their katanas and have them clashing with each other. Killua able to pick up speed but as time goes by, he is having difficulty as both of them moves faster and faster, to the point they were creating after images all over arena, along with sound of their still clashing with each other katana's without making damage.
"What speed, and they keep getting faster and faster!" Zushi exclaimed in surprise, even Gon also amazed at their speed.
"They are even faster than Hisoka" Killua muttered, having hard time to keep up as he keeps rolling his eyes to follow their movement.
Despite its merely few minutes, it felt like hours as seeing no one had landed damage yet. Both Kallua and Fraze then decided to land at the end of the ring, goes maintaining distance as they slightly raise their katana at each other.
"W..Woaah! They are so fast! It's even harder to keep up compared to the match Hisoka against Gon! I can't even comment in leisure with this kind of tempo!" Coco said, rubbing her eyes.
"Kall-chan… this is getting boring" Fraze slowly let his finger dances around his blade "And here I was prepared to taint you red with your own blood" Fraze goes to let his tongue swept across the blade few distance "that would be the best sight to see~"
"Guh.." Kallua groaned seeing Fraze action, without a word or a second, Kallua goes to kick the stone tile casually towards Fraze with high speed, responded with Fraze casually punch the tile in pieces and sending them back heading towards Kallua with speed that not as fast as Kallua did but still threatening. Though all Kallua did were merely tilt his shoulder, neck and head slightly for dodging, didn't even move from his position.
"L..Look at that, Kallua easily kick the tile and destroyed easily by Fraze but of course even easily dodged too. Once more, no one still able to give damage!" coco said flabbergasted at their interaction.
"Kall-chan~, please do something for this boredom" Fraze heaved a sigh as he look at Kallua boredly "You know that we promised Hisoka for entertainment and hoping for myself too. But you still making it boring" Fraze then gives a maniac grin of menacing killer as his aura goes malicious " Kall-chan, let us have a dance of..DEATH!"
At those words, Fraze instantly use ren, showing off his tremendous aura and enabling the audience to taste the unknown fear, not wanting to be overwhelm, Kallua too, letting out his ren which was powerful as well.
Both Killua and Gon could only marvel and shocked at the ren they witness. The gap of strength was too much for both of them to keep up. They had no idea that both Kallua and Fraze is hiding their strength and Killua then look at Karuze whom is edging on his seat, gritting his teeth.
"What a powerful ren, so this is their true strength.." Killua muttered in anxious, as he thought his chance of winning against Kallua is lesser and lesser.
However, Karuze merely shook his head "No, they are just getting warm-up. But usually when they did that, it's a sign that they may get serious later"
Gon widen her eyes in awe "No way… they are not even serious!?"
Karuze nodded "if they are serious, they would not stop until one of them is dead"
Killua could only grit his teeth, feeling that Kallua is truly stronger than his aniki. He truly sure that Kallua truly guaranteed for be able to keep Gon safe. Yet, remembering when Kallua trust him, he thought he should be confident within himself. He decided that he and Gon would get stronger, maybe with Kallua's help (since he did offer to help) to face whatever in their path. With that in mind, he looks down to see Kallua in silent gaze, saying he shouldn't lose against Fraze.
In that moment, Fraze decided to take action, dashing quickly and goes for close range battle as they keep using Kou for attacking and defending. Wing widen his eyes for knowing Kou is one of advance Nen techniques that focusing all your aura in one place for attack but leaving the rest defenseless. But it seems to be not a problem for both Kallua and Fraze, considering both of them able to read the attacks and even switching the Kou quickly. The audience cheers at the fight they did yet once more, none of them were still landing damage.
It was then Fraze lets out a grin which Kallua noticed and jump backwards, maintaining some distance.
"Scarlet Tempo!" He yelled out loud as his grin turns madly as he raise his fist, causing his aura flared red, rising surrounding his fist before then conjures into handheld cannon "Bloody Rain!"
The cannon started shooting ridiculous amount of medium aura spear like in wide direction. Kallua instantly take his gun he hid with his left hand and wield his katana in his right hand. He instantly use ren and power up his gun and katana in same time then taking all the Bloody Rain attack down with not much difficulty as he shoots then slice. Even Killua had to admit, wielding different weapons then going for offense then defense at same time takes high concentrate and skills, something he would have hard time to do. In swift moment, Kallua found an opening, with combined attacks of his gun and katana, he managed to throw off one of the bloody rain bullet and bounce it back to Fraze then graze Fraze's cheek, drawing a thin line of blood.
Fraze instantly stops the attack as Kallua instantly taking care for the last of Bloody Rain. Fraze lightly trace the blood with his index finger, seeing his finger had a bit of his blood, he only chuckled in glee.
"Hehe..heeheheheheheheheheh~" The chuckle continues, loudly and echoing causing everyone goes silent, Kallua prepares and goes in defense, knowing Fraze is up for something, especially with that annoying chuckle.
Both Killua and Gon , followed by Zushi and Wing starting to feel uncomfortable with the chuckle antics that seems to be not stopping. Karuze is now pale, as he tries to hide it but failed. He can feel how loud his heartbeat is as he begins to sweat profusely.
"Karuze… what's, going on?" Killua ask in fright tone, as he can't predict what Karuze will do.
Karuze immediately shook his head "I don't know. But whatever it is, it must be something not good for host"
The chuckle finally stops, but the tense atmosphere still lingers. It was then Karuze starts to stare at Kallua deadly on his eyes which made him tense, seeing Fraze now had dark and menacing looking eyes.
"That was mean, Kall-chan~" Fraze gives a light, yet sad grin as he wipes the rest of his blood with his fist. "You did that on purpose" Fraze is now pouting "You are not serious with me, or even our match"
"So he knows that" Karuze muttered, earning looks from Killua, Gon with Wing and Zushi "He knows that Host is not intending to kill him. That trajectory of the attacks to hit Fraze in cheek, it was in purpose. Had Host goes serious, he would let the trajectory hit his neck, slicing it off to kill him instantly" with that, Karuze drew a bit of sighing "and Fraze is letting him to does so, with that speed, even Fraze would noticed and dodge but he didn't. He just stood still and lets Host's attack to hit him and of course, host had chance to kill him but he didn't do it"
"Well of course Kallua wouldn't kill Fraze! They are cousins!" Gon retorted, unable to believe that Fraze is like asking Kallua to kill him.
Killua could only goes silent as he thought had he able to kill his family, he would do so. Even without hesitation. Maybe if he is in Kallua's shoes now, he too would kill Fraze without hesitating, given his annoying and disgusting demeanor and all.
"Don't be like this Kall-chan~" Fraze sudden words made everyone attention back to the stage "This won't do, not you right now"
"Shut up!" Kallua narrows his eyes "What are you up to!?"
Hearing that made Fraze lets out his malicious grin, filled with killing intent as he rummages his pocket and taking out a small vial, with red liquid inside.
"Wha-" Kallua widen his eyes, seeing the very familiar vial he recognized "That's uncle Hiei vial! Filled with s- rank youkai's blood with mixed DNA, how did you.."
Fraze lets out a cold chuckle "Oh please Kall-chan, of course vortex of bond is not the only thing I took from Father" with that he opens the seal of the vial "the fun is about to begin~"
In sudden motion, Fraze drinks the vial content, causing Kallua to shout in surprise. He did ever read a research when youkai blood and human mixed together, there would be a very unpleasant reaction that will cause destruction. He only ever sees the theory, never in practical. Which is why, he speculated Fraze life will have a chance for being in danger because of the unfamiliar substance enters his body.
Satisfied in drinking the blood, Fraze threw the vial away, causing it to shatter to pieces. It was then the aura around Fraze has changed, it grew thicker and maliciously more as it spreads around causing mass panics within the audience. Fraze starts to laugh, laugh cruelly and loudly to the point Kallua cover his ears, feeling sick in hearing it. It was then it turn into a monstrous roar, causing the celling and the ground to shook as everyone too, cover their ears as some close their eyes.
Kallua whom keep maintain his gaze to Fraze, only seeing his outward appearance are still the same, aside from his crimson eyes are now glowing and he could see his aura is now thick with unpleasant feel. As Fraze opens his mouth, his teeth has grew sharper, having fangs that is can be recognized as sharp the moment it is seen. He can sense that Fraze indeed getting stronger yet knows that he might have difficulty to control his new strange strength.
Fraze gives a satisfactionary smirk "Oh Kall-chan~ do you like my new strength?" Kallua only gives blank look as he replies in blank tone "Yeah, whatever" then thought `okay, he is still the same Fraze'
In the audience seat, the five of them could only dumbfound as in what happened. Even the commentator unable to describe what just happened aside from Fraze drinking strange thing.
"O-Oi, what did that Fraze just drank?" Killua questioned Karuze, whom unsure on explain about youkai.
"Whatever it is, Fraze does getting stronger, Osu" Zushi gulped "Fraze is now stronger than Kallua, that's for sure"
"Yeah" Karuze is getting anxious "I hope Host truly has a plan like he said"
Gon begin to look at Kallua in worry as Killua held her hand and give him a look to assure Gon, that Kallua would be fine as they sees what happened in the arena.
"But you know," Fraze once again rummage his other pocket "I'm still haven't finish my final touch"
"There's more!?" Kallua instantly goes for another defense motion, however this time, Fraze took out a jewel and let Kallua to see it at the palm of his hand. The jewel is diamond shape in emerald, amethyst, ruby and sapphire light mixed inside, overlapping with each shake causing it to sparkles more beautifully.
Kallua tilt his head, he never sees a jewel like that before despite he has memorizes every single jewel in book and having jewel obsessed little sister. Yet seeing how brightly shone and brilliantly sparkle it is, Kallua knew that Killia would love to have that jewel, whatever the cost.
"Beautiful, isn't it?" Fraze asked and Kallua unconsciously nod in agreement "Good, because this jewel will do what it will do good for you!"
Kallua widen his eyes, thinking it might be a trap for that jewel might be also collection belong to uncle Hiei. As he is about to defend once more, the jewel started to shone brightly, too bright that Kalua instantly close his eyes.
Feeling the light had diminished, he reopens his eyes to see the scenery has changed. He was in middle of grassland that vast to the point he can't see other things as far as his eyes can show him.
"Kallu? What are you doing spacing out like that?"
He instantly turns in the voice direction, seeing both of his grown up parents looking at him warmly. Is this a dream? He was about to pinch himself but then his father come to his side and ruffles his hair wildly.
"Hahaha, what are you doing being silly in front of us, Kall?" Killua laugh in which Kallua grunt in embarrassment "I wasn't act like that! Geez"
In that moment, everyone could only confuse. Seeing Kallua stood motionless and didn't react. The audiences thought Fraze would attack defenseless Kallua but he merely fold his arms and stare at Kallua, wait for him to react.
"Whats going on actually!? Kallua! Wake up!" Killua yelled, while the audiences yelled too then booing for Kallua only standing there with Fraze not doing anything.
"SILENCE!" Fraze powerfully roar, successfully made everyone goes quiet. Afterwards Fraze lets out a laugh "The fun, real entertainment will begin when Kall-chan awake!" Fraze said as he still keeps his stare on the motionless Kallua.
In Kallua's moment, he looks at both of his parents laughing in which he can't help but laugh together as he is having fun with them. As he thought how nice this dream is, he suddenly greeted with his parents are now having their head sliced within a second. His eyes widen as he sees, it was Fraze grinning with malicious, killer grin.
"This is what you get for not serious, Kall-chan~" Fraze said coldly as he mercilessly continues to slice and stomping the remaining corpses of his parents. Kallua want to scream, and goes to kill Fraze hundred no, thousand or even far more times for killing his parents in front of him. Yet he can't move, he could only watch helplessly of what Fraze did.
"N..No, .." Kallua said weakly, with tears flowing harshly out of his eyes. Deep down, he knew that this must be a dream, or maybe illusion as it is impossible for his grown up parents to suddenly arrives and act like what they just did. Yet, even though it could be dream or illusion, what he feels is real.
His anger keeps increasing, his hatred towards Fraze goes soaring higher and higher.
His bloodlust is now going to active. It's like all his senses are merely is blind aside bloodlust is the only thing he can feel.
He wants to let it all out. He could feel anger and hatred are mixing together, forming such strong bloodlust that he infused with Nen and about to burst out, swallowing him till his consciousness has disappear in the insanity.
He welcomes them, eagerly.
In the arena, Kallua whom had tears running down suddenly jolted then trembled as he drops his weapons with loud clatter. In that moment, he mutters "Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill" over and over again in low voice then goes higher as time goes by before instantly lets out monstrous roar that is quite powerful as Fraze, earning shocked reaction from everyone aside Fraze whom is now smiling widely. Karuze is the most shocked for what he fears is true that his host now, is in bloodlust mode and the worst, Kallua has full access of using aura in that mode because he didn't restrain him.
"This is bad" Karuze muttered in fear as he grip his arm hard "He is now in his true bloodlust mode"
"Kill! I WILL KILL YOU!" Kallua screams intensified as his eyes now fully turn crimson then glowing brighter the moment his gaze landed on Fraze. Instantly he lets out his bloodlust infused aura that now suffocating everyone as the air seems heavy with deadly pressure atmosphere. He sharpens his claws and fixed his gaze towards Fraze with hate and murderous look.
"YESS! YESSS!" Fraze smile and grin with glee as he hug himself "Ahhh~ I want to devour you, I want you to devour me! Kill or be Killed, anything with you Kall-chan, I welcome it!" Fraze started to blush then panted hard as he sees, Kallua in bloodlust mode is indeed the most turn on sight for him to have. His sharp piercing, murderous glare that is fixed to him and only him, causing his knees goes weak. His menacing grin that could make his heart melts. His nail that is now sharpen and aimed to steal his heart (literally) is such bliss thought to be reality. He for sure can't be happier than having this bloodlust strawberry kills him or be killed by him.
In audience seat, everyone collapsed as if they just taken tons of weigh that is heavy physically and mentally. Killua meanwhile, knows these feelings as he felt it back in hunter exam. Compared to last time, this time he can't carry the burden as he instantly broke down in cold sweat along with everyone else.
"A..Again. But, this is more. Compared to the hunter exam.. this is far more worse!" Killua choke out, unable to believe the feel he thought worse compared to both Hisoka and his Aniki back in hunter exam is now thousand times far worse right now. Despair seems the only thing they can feel the moment they felt his aura. Killlua instantly look at Gon in worry for she might get crushed under the pressure of despair like aura hitting them but Gon shivers hard as her gaze landed on Kallua. But to Killua's amazement, her gaze still had light and determination, giving signs she is trusting Kallua, despite his current state. Seeing his girlfriend held so much trust to Kallua does made him uncomfortable, yet Killua decided to do the same, trusting his best guy friend as he tries to fight the despair aura.
Seeing everyone have hard time to breath with fear, Karuze starts to glow then letting his power spreads throughout in circle radius, enough to cover the audiences, commentator and jury, enabling them to be protected by Kallua's bloodlust aura.
"I should be able to cover for you guys in few hours" Karuze said, slightly panting "Host… in the end, he really transform into his original bloodlust mode. Must be because of that cursed jewel"
"Karuze, what, is all this?" Gon spoke slightly stammered as she still recovers from Kallua's bloodlust.
"Barrier to protect you guys like using Ten to protect malicious aura" Karuze said simply "you guys should be able to adjust better now"
"Kallua-san is scary, Osu" Zushi shuddered in fear, seeing the change of Kallua's demeanor.
Killua narrow his eyes " Karuze.. who are you? You are simply not his brother, right?"
Karuze knew that Killua is not easy to fool, yet he knows if he has to explain, it would take long "Yeah, I'll explain later. For now, Host is our top priority. If he goes berserk, it would be a trouble. I have to stop him with all I have. That is why I exist" Deep inside Karuze goes worried `Im using my power to protect all the people here from his aura. If he kills Fraze and goes berserk, I don't think I will able to restrain him completely, given protecting them right now has slowly exhausting me'
Killua look at Karuze deeply, he has so many things he wants to ask Karuze, mainly about their true relationship. But for now, he turns to look at Kallua and shiver the moment he does so. Seeing how different Kallua look despite the outer appearance is still the same, the same could be said like Fraze. it feels like both of them are now in equal terms.
They started to watch the match with heavy feelings. Deep inside they knew the match will not end well with both of the fighters are not in their clear, usual demeanor.
One thing they know for sure.
The match will turn into a massacre.
