Hello everyone! For those who don't know who I am, I'm thDorkMagnet! I typically write for a different series but I decided to try something a little different and write for this amazing show! I love Owl House and I'm super excited to help participate in it's growing fandom! I made this story based on a conversation between me and another writer "7lights13darknesses" who came up with the original idea. We both had very different ideas for what we wanted to do with this premise, so we both decided to each write our own version! So yeah, if any of you were confused by the title that's why. I sincerely hope you enjoy my take!

Disclaimer: Owl House and all its characters belongs to Dana Terrace and Disney. Lion King belongs to Disney. All rights go to their respective owners.

It was a relatively peaceful day on the Boiling Isles. Well as peaceful as things could get in the magical kingdom, no fairies had devoured innocent citizens, no massive beasts had rampaged through town, nobody had spontaneously combusted. So yeah, it was peaceful.

And within the walls of the Owl House, things were quiet and calm, only the rhythmic ticking of a clock providing any break in the silence of the afternoon. Luz and King lay on the couch relaxing, the small demon scrolling through Luz's phone in search of something to entertain his bored mind, while Luz read through a spellbook from Hexside. Eda was gone for the day on a 'business trip' which Luz had decided was better not to ask about and had asked the two to hold down the fort in her absence.

King let out a loud groan, finally shattering the peaceful atmosphere, "I'm so bored. Isn't there anything on this weird talking box worthy of entertaining the king of demons?"

Luz looked up from her book, giving King a scratch behind the ear. "Awww, I'm sorry King. What about your cat videos? You love those."

"Yeah," King muttered halfheartedly. "Those idiot animals are quite amusing but I need something exciting." He pressed his paws on her chest, looking up at her with pleading eyes. "Why can't you just play with me?"

"Sorry, bud. I have to finish my homework first. This spell book isn't gonna read itself." Luz paused, thinking about that for a second. "Unless that is a spell in here," she pondered, rubbing her chin thoughtfully.

But King crossed his arms, pouting at not getting his way. "Stupid witch school. Getting in the way of my Luz time."

Luz held in her coo at how cute King looked, instead putting her arms around him in a hug. "Hey, I promise we'll play later, alright. Just try and find something to do till then." She planted a small and kiss on his head which made King giggle. Luz was the only person in the world he would let treat him this way, anyone else he would smite on the spot, but he enjoyed the attention if he was being honest.

"Alright fine," he grumpily agreed.

"That's my good boy," Luz cooed, giving him one last squeeze before releasing him. "Now as for your boredom, I think I can help with that," she added, snatching up the phone and quickly tapping away at the small screen. Her fingers moved like lightning and King quickly climbed into her lap to see what she was typing out. The girl quickly found what she wanted and smiled to herself.

"Here. This was my favorite movie growing up as a kid," she said, showing King the phone screen.

"The Lion... King," King read curiously. He gasped in delight before exclaiming, "Yes, finally! A movie worthy of my stature!"

"I thought you'd like it," Luz said sweetly.

"What's a lion, though?" King asked with a questioning look, the cover of said movie showing weird looking creatures. "Are they some kind of predator?"

"Yep," Luz replied. "They're basically big cats."

King's eyes widened in intrigue. "So this movie has cats and kings! Now this is more like it!"

Luz giggled as King hit play on the video, watching the screen closely, not even blinking as the opening scene began. The demon dog's tail wagged happily, beating on Luzs leg but the girl didn't mind. Instead she settled down on the couch again, getting nice and comfortable, before picking up her book and reading from where she left off, the sound of her favorite movie droning on in the background.

Luz closed her book, letting out a happy sigh. "Finally finished," she said to herself. The spellbook had been super interesting, filled with so many spells that Luz wished to someday do herself, although she might avoid the ones that involved stealing souls or sucking out someone's life force... or turning things into milk, being lactose intolerant was no joke.

The Latino looked down at her furry companion, her eyes lighting up as she was just how cute King was unintentionally being, pressing her hands against her cheeks to try and hold in her squeal. The adorable little creature had fallen asleep, curled up into a ball on her lap, her phone which was playing the end credits laid next to him. "Awww, he's so precious when he snoozles," Luz cooed.

King shifted in his sleep, making a weird sound as one of his eyes popped open. "Luz," he muttered groggily.

"Oh sorry, King," the girl apologized quickly, giving him a guilty smile. "Did I wake you from your wittle nap?"

King rolled his eyes at Luz baby talking again. She only got like this when he was 'extra cute'. Hopefully this time he wouldn't have pictures or videos to delete. "I was woken by the sound of you loudly admiring me," he explained in a deadpan.

"My bad, I was trying to keep it down." Her smile returned as she asked, "So did you like the movie, King?"

"It was acceptable," King replied, clearly trying to look and act dignified.

"Did you like the action?" Luz asked, leaning closer with a hinting look in her eyes.

King couldn't hold back his excitement anymore as he exclaimed, "Yes! YES! it was all amazing, the fights, the action, the drama, the humor! That was the best movie I've ever seen in my life!"

Luz giggled, before saying, "I knew you'd like it." He gave him a quick pet on the head. "Annndd I finished my book and you know what that means..."

King jumped up, pumping his little claws into the air. "Yes, finally! Luz and King time can officially begin!"

Luz giggled and nodded. "Yep, so what do you wanna do first?"

Before King could reply, Hooty interrupted, his head floating over them as he said in his obnoxious voice, "i have a good idea. How about we play my favorite game, Hide and Go Hoot? It's the best."

"That's a terrible idea!" King shouted. "No one wants to play with you, Hooty!"

"Awww, that's too bad, guess I'll just have to go find a new friend, then," the bird head said, before floating off.

The two watched the creepy bird float away before shuddering violently. Hooty was as mysterious and odd as could be and although he was technically their friend that didn't make interacting with him any less unnerving.

"Sooo," Luz began, trying to get back on topic. "What do you wanna do for real? I could teach you how to draw fan art of Azura!" Luz squealed at the thought.

But King didn't seem as excited, saying in a thoughtful tone, "Ehhh I think I'm good. We need to do something bold and exciting, something we'll remember for years to come."

Luz considered that for a moment, looming around the room for an idea when her eyes landed on her phone. A smile slowly spread on her face as she muttered out, "I think I may just have an idea."

...

"Well what is it?" King asked after a moment of silence.

"Oh sorry I was pausing for dramatic effect," Luz quickly said.

"Ohhhh, that makes more sense," King replied, nodding his head in understanding.

Luz climbed up the rough rock wall, feeling every stone digging into her palms. The cliff was steep but luckily Luz managed to scale it with relative ease but she could feel her grip starting to give out. She held on for dear life, knowing what danger awaited below but she knew she couldn't hold on much longer.

Looking up she spotted a familiar small form on the edge of the cliff, staring down at her with his beady yellow eyes. "King! ¡Ayudame!" She screamed desperately, reaching out a hand feebly towards him. But seeing the confusion in his eyes she added loudly, "Help me!"

King leaned down and placed his small clawed hands over Luz's, looking deep into her confused eyes. Instead of helping her up though, he simply whispered in a dark, creep tone, "Long live the king."

With that, he gave Luz a violent shove, causing her to slip off the cliff. Luz screamed as she descended down the long drop, given no time to save herself as she plummeted fast towards the ground, only having a chance to look up at her friend in utter betrayal.

But instead of splatting against the hard, unforgiving ground, Luz instead landed in a pile of stuffed animals and pillows the two had set up during their game along with the giant rock pillar Luz had created using magic. The Latino began writhing in false pain, letting out mock, overdramatic screams as stuffed animals were scattered from her wild flailing. "Aaaahh, oh no my one weakness... dying!" She screamed.

"Luz, corpses don't make so much noise," King reminded her.

"Oh right," Luz replied before flopping back and going still, her eyes closed and her tongue sticking out for extra measure.

King let out a long maniacal laugh, soaking in his victory from atop his stony pillar. "Mwhahahaha! Yes! I am the Lion King! All will bow before me!" He loudly declared, holding his tiny paws towards the ceiling.

He was so consumed by his evil laughter that he didn't even hear the front door to the Owl House opening. A young witch with pale skin and green streaked hair walked into the room, her eyes focused on the cover of a book on her hands. "Hey Luz, just came to return the Azura book I borrowed," Amity greeted in a mildly interested tone, still too distracted by her book to notice the situation she had just walked into. "It was pretty good. Although I think the last one was bett-"

The words left Amity's mind in a flash as she finally looked up and spotted the fallen form of her dear friend and secret crush. The young witch screamed, before running over to her friend, dropping the book and letting it thud forgotten to the ground. She was on her hands and knees examining the Latino's body in a second.

"Luz! Luz, are you okay?! Speak to me!" Amity screamed, her heart racing in panic. She shook her friend a few times in the hopes of awakening her but to her horror she stayed limp in her arms. Okay, okay, Amity, focus, she told her frantic and terrified mind. But thinking in general wasn't easy to do when you were close to tears or a panic attack. It was all Amity could do to keep herself sane and even that was debatable at this point.

"Hang on, Luz!" she yelled, still hoping her voice somehow reached her friend's comatose mind. "I'm not gonna lose you!" Her finger was already beginning to trace the magic circle in the air. She sadly didn't know any healing spells but she did know how to make an electric spell, her hope being to restart her human's heart.

"Aww, Amity. I didn't know you cared so much," Luz said, her eyes popping open as she gave the young witch a warm smile. Amity screamed and jumped hastily to her feet, her unfinished spell fading from the air after a second.

Amity blinked a few times as she stared down at her friend, in complete disbelief over Luz's condition and she eyed her up and down a few times just to make sure. "L-Luz?!" she stuttered, already feeling the blush forming on her cheeks. "You're… okay?"

Luz nodded, propping herself up on her hands and knees. "Yep, sorry for scaring you like that," the girl responded with another one of her bright grins that caused Amity's heart to dance.

"Uhhh, no, no it was…" the girl began but found herself unable to continue, the words catching in her throat. Instead she asked, "So wait, wait, I'm confused. Why were laying on the ground pretending to be unconscious?"

"Oh me and King were just playing a game," Luz explained simply.

"A game," Amity repeated in shock.

"That was great, Luz!" King shouted, rushing over to his human friend and throwing his arms around her in a tight hug, forgetting all about his tough act for a moment. "You made an amazing dead person! You even fooled Amity!"

"Aww, well I did have a lot of practice when I got the part of Juliet in my school's play of Romeo and Juliet," Luz said, a modest blush flooding her cheeks. She thought back to the experience a few years ago, she had done a great job playing dead, so good in fact that the drama teacher had called the nurse to make sure she was okay. Only then did she surprise everyone by jumping to her feet and throwing a large handful of rubber snakes around the room, declaring herself an immortal witch. She had been asked to leave the drama club after that.

"Anyways, what brings you to the Owl House, Amity? You don't usually come to visit me very often," Luz said, giving her friend an inquisitive look.

Amity blushed wildly as her crush's eyes landed on her and she was too flustered for a moment to speak, words failing to go from her mind to her mouth once again. This happened a bit too often around Luz than she would like. "Uhh, oh, I-I was just bringing back your Azura book," Amity was finally able to reply, pointing with both hands over to the book, laying open on the ground.

"Oh cool, did you like it?" Luz asked, giving King a gentle scratch behind the ears, causing the demon to tap his leg against the ground a few times, out of instinct.

"Y-Yeah, it was pretty okay, I guess," Amity replied, still struggling to get ahold of her frantic thoughts and feelings over her crush. Stop it, Amity. Before you embarrass yourself anymore, she hissed to herself.

She was thankful when King interrupted the conversation, drawing the attention off of her much to her great relief. "Luz, can we continue our game? Pretty please." the small demon dog begged, giving her adorable puppy dog eyes, as he leaned in close to her face.

"In just a minute, King," Luz said gently, kissing him softly on the top of the head.

"Luz, not in front of people!" King protested, trying to pull out of her grip suddenly.

Amity tried not to feel jealous by the show of affection but part of her wished she could be King in that moment. If only those dang body swap spells weren't so unpredictable. The young witch cleared her tight throat, unintentionally drawing Luz's and King's attention back onto her and she frantically scrambled for something to talk about. "Uhh, so what are you two playing anyways?" she asked and mentally sighed at her quick thinking.

"We were reenacting scenes from the greatest movie to ever exist!" King declared, holding both clawed fists in the air with joy.

"And what movie is that?" Amity asked, an eyebrow slowly raising.

"The Ling King, it was an old favorite of mine," Luz explained, her bright positivity never once wavering.

"Is that the one with the big talking cats?" Amity asked instantly and Luz gasped in surprise, her eyes widening immensely.

"You've seen it!" she squealed in delight, slowly scooting closer to her friend.

Amity blushed bright red, looking away from the eager Latino unable to make eye contact as her embarrassment grew. "Well I may have watched a few parts of it while doing… research," she muttered out, before quickly adding, "For school!" In truth, Amity had been intrigued by the human world ever since her and Luz had become friends and had decided to do a little independent research on Earth culture. She had hoped it would make it easier to communicate with her secret crush but it seemed that was an impossible feat. Something about Luz just left her flustered, her heart pounding in her chest and her palms sweating like crazy just thinking about her.

"That's amazing!" Luz exclaimed, hopping to her feet and wrapping her arms around Amity in a tight hug that made Amity's heart feel like it might explode. Still a small grin grew on her face as she enjoyed the warmth flowing off of her upbeat crush and she even found herself hugging back slightly.

The hug broke off much too quickly for Amity's liking but she held back her grumble of disapproval not wanting to give anything away or accidently upset Luz. "It's so cool you've seen my favorite movie of all time! I mean I thought it was amazing when you read Azura like me but-" Luz's gaze softened into a gentle, thoughtful smile. "You really are the coolest girl I've ever met, Amity."

"Well, I mean, I don't know about all that. I'm not that amazing," Amity muttered nervously but she managed to keep her cool a little better than a few minutes ago. A blush only barely visible on her cheeks instead of consuming her whole face.

"Since you know the movie, maybe you'd like to join in on our game," Luz offered, before looking back towards the demon pet. "That is if King doesn't mind?"

King paused for a second, thinking it over, before finally nodding, "I will allow it. After all, we do need a third person to act out the next part and I don't think Mr. Fluffles is quite ready for that big of a role." The small demon held up a stuffed rabbit, before glaring at it with a disappointed expression.

"So how about it, Amity?" Luz asked with her infectious grin, her inquisitive eyes digging into Amity's soul.

Amity panicked, trying to quickly think up some kind of excuse, "Sorry, Luz. I still have a lot of, uh, studying still to do. I was just here to drop off the book, that's all."

Luz's face flooded with disappointment but she managed to keep her tone bright as she simply nodded and said, "Well, okay then. I understand. Good luck studying, Amity."

"Thanks," was all Amity could reply with as she slowly headed back towards the front door.

Luz returned her focus to King, kneeling so she and King were the same height. "So then, King, ready to get back to our game."

"Well if I said no, I would be 'lion'," King joked and Luz burst out into laughter that caused Amity to stop in her tracks.

"We did leave off on a real cliffhanger," Luz added, booping King on the nose and the demon erupted into a stream of adorable snickers that only caused the Latino's laughter to grow as well.

Amity turned, staring longingly over the two giggling and having a good time and felt a sudden bubble of jealousy and desire. If her parents were there they would tell her not to engage in such 'shameful activities' her reputation more important than having fun. That's part of why she liked being around Luz, she brought out a different side of her. A side Amity had thought she had lost a long time ago. And so, despite her better judgement, she took in a deep breath and walked back over to the two, who were still goofing around.

"Uhh hey," she said gingerly and the two turned to her in surprise. Amity gulped when Luz's eyes met hers but managed to continue. "I don't have to get started on my homework right away, so I can probably stay and… help you guys with your game… if you want me too." The young witch was twirling a strand of hair nervously around her finger as she waited with held breath for their reply.

Luz and King shared a look before they both smiled warmly and the young girl nodded, saying brightly, "Of course we don't mind, Amity. The more the merrier!" She stood and gave her friend another tight hug. Amity tensed for a half a second, before returning it back eagerly.

King latched onto Luz's leg, wanting to join in on the hugs and Luz made sure to reach back and pat him gently on the head.

When the three finally pulled out of their hug, King cleared his throat before offering Amity his paw, "Welcome aboard our little circle of friendship! I am the leader of this group as you can tell from my superior stature so just do as I say and we won't have any problems, okay?"

Amity gave Luz a confused look but the Latino just mouthed to her 'Just go with it.' The young witch shrugged before shaking King's small claw, saying softly, "Uhh sure, whatever you say."

"Good." King nodded his head in approval, crossing his arms in front of his chest. "Then with that settled, let's get back to our game, shall we?"

Luz raised a small finger up, saying sheepishly, "Uhh well actually. I do have one more question?"

"Yes, second-in-command Luz the human. What is it?" King asked in a dignified manner.

"I was just wondering, Amity… if you knew how to sing?" Luz asked, turning her inquisitive gaze on her friend.

Amity was surprised by the question and was only able to blus bright red and stutter through her answer, wondering what she had just gotten herself into.

Eda had had a very long day. After leaving the house in Luz and King's care she had spent the entire day trying to haggle with greedy conmen in a desperate attempt to get her hands on some kind of cure to her curse. She had heard a promising rumor in the marketplace and her curiosity had gotten the best of her. However, after wasting the whole day dealing with liars and shifty characters that made her look respectable by comparison she had decided the search was in vain. It was another dead end, just like they always were. So Eda had made a pact with herself to spend the rest of the day relaxing at home. A nice two hour acid bubble bath, drinking a slime wart smoothie and catching up on some fascinating romance novels she had picked up from the human world (yes she liked romance novels, what's the big deal?) sounded like the kind of waste of time she could get behind.

And as her beloved Owl House came into view, Eda let out a content sigh, feeling her body sagging some from exhaustion. Once Owlbert was close enough to the ground she hopped off her staff and twirled it around her hand a few times casting a silence spell so no outside noises could interrupt the rest of her 'me day'. She shuffled up to the door, not even bothering to hide her exhaustion from view.

Hooty spotted her and of course just had to open his big beak, "Well looks like someone had a busy daaayy!" The door's guardian did a few loops in the air while Eda did her best to ignore him. "Wanna know what I did today?" Hooty asked in his same obnoxious tone as always.

"Not today, Hooty," Eda said, pushing past the mysterious bird head and shoving the front door open with the little amount of strength she had left. But she froze in the doorway, her mouth dropping open and the exhaustion vanishing from her body. She was too distracted by the bizarre and quite frankly ridiculous sight before her. She had seen countless weird things during her time as the Owl Lady but nothing could prepare her for what she saw going on in her own living room.

All her furniture had been shoved aside to clear out as much space as possible for the center of the room. Eda had to guess Luz had been hard at work on her magic because the entire living room was coated in plant life, thick vines hung from the ceiling, flowers sprouted up from the carpet and- was that a river! In her living room!

But if the state of her house was not enough to catch the witch off-guard then the two teens and pet were enough to cause her brain to malfunction. They were wearing flower necklaces and crowns, goofy grins plastered on all of their faces. Even King's expressionless skull face had excitement burning in his eyes. King was riding on Luz's shoulders while her and Amity held hands gliding around the room in a goofy, but surprisingly fluid dance. And all three were singing at the top of their lungs in equally as silly and overdramatic tones as their expressions and actions held.

"Hakuna Matata! What a wonderful phrase! Hakuna Matata! Ain't no passing CRAZZZEEEE!"

Eda watched the three acting completely ridiculous for about a minute, before she said simply, "Yeah, no. Not today." Then without another word she grabbed the handle and pulled the door closed, her eyes not once leaving the group until they were hidden behind the wooden frame.

Eda rubbed her eyes gently, her brain spinning from whatever it was that was going on inside her house. But she was too tired to deal with it. Deciding it was best to leave for a bit and come back when hopefully they had regained some braincells.

So she simply drew out her staff and flew off back towards town, wondering to herself how difficult it would be to sneak into the local spa and get a pedicure, leaving King, Luz and Amity to finish their game in peace.

Thanks for reading! I hope you all enjoyed my story! It was fun to write these characters since they are so full of great personalities! I highly encourage you all to go read "7lights13darknesses" take on this! From what I've read it is very good! I sadly don't have any more future fics planned for this show at the moment but you never know with me. So until we meet again Owl House fandom keep being awesome! Bye!
