Lexie was sat in her hotel room; she had travelled all the way from Seattle to Quantico. She had changed her outfit at least twice until she found the perfect one. After everything she'd been through, being in a plane crash to losing the love of her life Mark Sloan and after all that she'd believe she'd never be happy again.

But that day he entered into the ER, something changed, and she was unsure what it was. He spent days in the hospital, but he and Lexie didn't have a proper conversation until the fourth day when all his agent friends went home. Lexie was nervous and he knew, he was great at reading people well after all he was a profiler with an eidetic memory, that's how he and Lexie got talking, their memories.

On the day he was discharged he left Lexie his card with his mobile number. Lexie blushed when he handed it to her in front of her crowd of friends and with that he left.

For two days straight Lexie would stare at her phone, she was scared to make the first contact but some encouragement from her sister, Meredith, and Cristina she decided to suck up the fear and make the first contact, lunchtime was she sent him a text just a cliché message asking if he had gotten back to Quantico safely and that she wished him a speedy and well recovery.

Hours had passed and Lexie hadn't received a text, she felt stupid, dumb and she began thinking that maybe dating just wasn't for her until midnight she received a text, from him, Dr Spencer Reid. He apologised about his late reply and he explained to Lexie that technology wasn't really his thing, reading that text made Lexie smile, a smile she hadn't flashed in a long time. All night she and Spencer texted back and forth, making puns, and talking about medicine and life. She had completely lost track of time because by the time she knew it, it was 5am.

The texts soon formed into phone calls that lasted an hour and they gradually increased to four hours. Hearing his voice through the phone made her feel like butterflies where fluttering around her stomach, he made her giggle and smile, he made her feel good about herself.

Until one day Lexie decided to make the text a bit flirtier and she sent him a selfie, her hair and fringe neatly straightened, and she was dressed in a pair of light blue scrubs, she was hoping for a reply, but no reply. She had this feeling that she had blew it, sending a photo of herself was way out of his comfort zone. That night she sat at home in a pair of sweats, refusing to look at her phone at all, she was embarrassed until it lit up and Lexie looked at it the light of her phone, she had a staring contest for a few moments but the not knowing who it was, was killing her. She quickly snatched her phone, and it was him, taking a deep breath opening the text and reading it. She giggled as he explained that he didn't feel photogenic but in that he told her she looked pretty.

But how had she ended up in Quantico, that was her doing, one night on a phone call Lexie blurted out that she wanted to see him even if that meant flying over there. There was a moment of silence, but she could sense his smile through the phone, and he stuttered asking Lexie if she was sure and she definitely was sure, and he agreed.

After the plane accident Lexie swore, she'd never fly again but she realised she didn't want to be scared of flying anymore, she wanted to feel free and calm. Sure, getting on the plane and the take off was extremely terrifying and tricky but Lexie closed her eyes, and she dug her nails into the seat as she thought about a field full of daisies and Spencer standing there, handing her a daisy.

The night sky of Quantico was clear and the stars where shining bright and Lexie's black heeled boots clicked as she walked along the brightly lit street, she was on a phone call to Meredith who had her on speaker phone. She and Cristina were giving her a pep talk through the phone and she took a deep breath as she noticed a male walking towards her and that's when her nerves went into overdrive as she quickly told Meredith and Cristina goodbye and she hung up the phone. Lexie continued to walk closer and closer until she noticed as group of people standing not that far behind the guy walking towards her.

It was Spencer Reid and he saw her, the streetlights glowing on her as she walked towards him. Her heeled boots clicking, and he noticed her outfit, black skinny high-waisted trousers, and a silk shirt that was purple, her favourite colour. He then noticed that she had a bit of makeup on until he looked into her eyes and there it was the sparkle in her dark brown eyes and that smile of hers, it was breathing taking. Spencer walked closer until he stopped, he and Lexie where stood face to face.

Lexie looked at him as she smiled. "Hi". She softly greeted him, and Spencer nervously smiled. "Hi, Lexie". He softly said.

Lexie looked behind him and she saw his agent friends, all of them smiling and Lexie giggled as she looked at Spencer. "So, um this Italian place, how good is the spaghetti bolognese". Lexie nervously joked and she made Spencer chuckle.

"It's pretty good". Spencer smiled. "Shall we?".

Lexie nodded her head and she and Spencer began walking down the street both of them smiling at each other. As they walked Lexie felt Spencer's hand brush against hers and suddenly all the butterflies in her stomach began to disappear because she had a feeling that this long-awaited date was going to be something special.
