Never Have I Ever

After Beca, Chloe and Fat Amy graduated from Barden they decided to move to New York. Beca originally planned on moving to LA after school, but she ended up getting a good job offer in NY and couldn't refuse. Chloe was still trying to figure out what she wanted to do next, so instead of returning to her crowded house she decided to go to New York with Beca (also she didn't think she would be able to live somewhere that Beca wasn't). The two girls officially moved there a month after graduation. The only thing they could afford was a small studio apartment. Beca's dad told her that he would give her the money originally promised for her move to LA, which helped the girls a lot, but New York was expensive.

After being there for a couple months Fat Amy asked if she could come stay with them for a while and of course the two girls agreed. They loved their Bella sisters and they were thrilled to get to spend some time with the Australian, however they didn't anticipate the visit lasting over a year. Beca and Chloe offered for the Australian to sleep on their pull out couch and that they could just share their bed, but somehow Amy managed to convince them to let her have the bed and for the two of them to share the tiny pullout.

A year after Amy showed up the girls asked her if she was planning on living there and if she was then she needed to start paying rent and food. This led to her getting a job as Fat Amy Winehouse. Neither Beca or Chloe really had anything to complain about now. Yes the apartment could be very crowded at times, but they were getting extra money, so Chloe could finally apply to vet school. They all ate dinner together most nights and even though both Chloe and Beca pretended that they didn't like sharing a bed, the both secretly loved it.

Fat Amy was out late most nights and a lot of the time she didn't return until either early morning when Beca was getting ready for work or well after breakfast when nobody was home. Since it was just Beca and Chloe they fell into a very easy routine before bed. Amy usually left after dinner, leaving the two girls to clean up the kitchen. Chloe washed the dishes then handed them to Beca who dried them and put them away. Then the girls would watch a few episodes of whatever show they decided to watch together on Netflix. When they could hardly keep their eyes open any longer they would get changed into their pajamas, and get ready for bed. Once they were both done in the little bathroom they would crawl into bed. Sometimes they would talk to each other for a bit and others they would just go straight to sleep. Either way the night always ended with Chloe pulling Beca close and cuddling her and Beca pretending to hate the physical contact.

In the mornings they would both wake up at around 7. Beca had to go to work first, so she would get ready while Chloe made the two of them breakfast and coffee. Then they would eat together, either in a comfortable silence or just casual conversation about nothing. After eating Beca would leave for work, but not before Chloe "forced" her into a hug. Then Chloe would get ready and go to her job at a coffee shop just down the street from their apartment.

Chloe meets with Aubrey every Tuesday on her break at her work, since Aubrey now has a job a couple blocks away in the city. Today was Tuesday and Aubrey should be there any minute, so Chloe is waiting behind the counter making Aubrey's usual to busy herself. Chloe recently came to the realization that she likes Beca as more than a friend and she really needed to talk to her best friend about her current situation. Just as Chloe finishes making the drink Aubrey walks into the shop.

"Perfect timing" Chloe says to her blonde friend as she grabs the drinks and starts to walk over to their usual table.

"I always have perfect timing, it's kind of what I'm known for" Aubrey joked as they sat down at the table.

Chloe handed the girl her drink and instantly started to fiddle with the paper holder around her own mug. Aubrey could tell the redhead needed to tell her something and that she was nervous about it.

"Alright Chlo, spill. What's bothering you" Aubrey asked.

"Nothing, nothing is bothering me." Chloe said, suddenly really scared to talk to Aubrey about her new found feelings for Beca.

"Chloe, I've known you for over 10 years now. I think I know when something is bothering you. Plus you said you needed to tell me something this morning when you checked if I was still coming to see you today. Now please tell me what it is." Aubrey reached her hand across the table and grabbed Chloe's to reassure her.

Chloe took a deep breath and continued to stare at her drink as she slowly started to talk. "I think I'm in love" Chloe slowly lifted her gaze to look at Aubrey's face.

"That's great Chlo! I mean I'm kind of surprised since you haven't mentioned seeing any guys recently. Stacie and I were starting to get worried about you since you haven't been with anybody for a few years now. Tell me all about him."

Chloe knew she didn't need to be nervous to tell Aubrey because Aubrey is bi and dating Stacie, but for some reason Chloe felt like she was going to throw up. "It's not a guy" Chloe whispered. Aubrey looked surprised but didn't say anything. "It's… it's Beca."

"I know." Aubrey stated. Chloe whipped her head up to look at Aubrey.

"What do you mean you know?!" Chloe gasped. "I just realized this weekend."

"Chlo, we all know you're in love with Beca. You have been since Hood Night freshman year. I think she's been in love with you since then as well." Chloe sat there with her mouth hanging open listening to the words coming out of Aubrey's mouth. There was no way Beca was in love with her, shes not even gay.

"That's not possible. Beca's not gay. She dated Jesse for how many years. They probably would've gotten married if she would've gone with him to LA." Chloe was still in shock.

"Chloe I don't think Beca is as straight as you think. Besides having perfect timing I also take pride in having perfect gaydar, and let me tell you it goes crazy when Beca is around." Aubrey finishes looking pretty smug. "Listen why don't the two of you come over for dinner tonight and we'll prove it." Chloe agreed and texted Beca to let her know about the plans. Beca responded almost instantly with an ok and a heart.

After her meeting with Aubrey, Chloe finished her shift at work, then went back to the apartment to get ready. When she got back she saw that Beca was already dressed and ready to go to dinner. Chloe quickly changed then they started walking the 3 blocks to Aubrey and Stacie's apartment.

Aubrey and Stacie had ordered some pizza and made sure to have plenty of alcohol to make sure their plan would work. When Beca and Chloe arrived they started eating and made sure to keep the drinks flowing. After they had enough alcohol to start feeling tipsy Aubrey and Stacie we're ready to put their plan into action.

"Let's play never have I ever like we used to" Stacie suggested, sending a wink to Chloe who looked really confused.

"That sounds like a great idea Stace!" Aubrey excitedly answered which earned a groan from Beca.

"Great! I'll start!" Stacie was practically bouncing in her seat with anticipation hoping the plan would work. "Ok… Never have I ever… been to Pride" Stacie finished wanting to start with an easy one. Stacie, Aubrey, Chloe, and Beca all drank. The three of them all looked at Beca.

"What?" Beca asked curiously. "Stacie the point of the game is to say things you haven't done, so you don't drink and everyone else does"

"I know, but I've done so much that I like to play to get drunk" Stacie giggled.

"Alright I guess I'll go next." Aubrey stated clearly trying to think of something. "Never have I ever… been to a gay bar." Both Stacie and Beca took drinks, while Aubrey and Chloe exchanged a quick look.

"My turn!" Chloe almost shouted. "Never have I ever hooked up with a girl." Stacie, Aubrey and Beca all took a drink. "What the hell Beca!" Chloe didn't mean to sound upset but the shock, hurt and alcohol were all having a weird effect on her brain.

"What the hell what Chloe?" Beca asked, sounding genuinely confused and slightly hurt.

"You've hooked up with a girl before and you never told me I thought we were supposed to be best friends!" Chloe was feeling really weird right now and she couldn't tell if it was from all the drinks she had or the pure jealousy and sadness that she felt.

"Actually, I've hooked up with 6 girls." Beca stated, crossing her arms. Stacie and Aubrey's mouths dropped to the ground. "I didn't tell you because it never came up before. Why are you acting so pissed right now? This literally doesn't affect you at all" Beca was starting to get upset by Chloe's reaction.

"It does affect me!" Chloe shouted and ran out the door. Beca quickly got up to go after her. She saw Chloe about halfway down the sidewalk leaning against the building.

"I'm sorry." Chloe said as soon as Beca stood next to her. "I shouldn't have yelled. It isn't any of my business."

"I'm gay." Beca said, staring at the ground. Chloe looked up at this and wanted so desperately to make eye contact with Beca. Beca continued. "I realized I was in my senior year of high school."

"But, Jesse.." Chloe looked confused, the two of them had dated for 4 years.

"I was scared. I didn't want my dad to find out. That's really why I didn't want to go to Barden, I knew I couldn't be myself. Then I started having all of these feelings that I couldn't act on. I wanted so badly to act on them though, so I started dating Jesse. I knew that I never wanted to be a cheater like my father, so I knew if I was with Jesse I wouldn't act on my feelings, and it worked." Beca slowly looked at Chloe. "Please say something."

Chloe stared at Beca for a minute. "We've been living here for over a year. Your dad is nowhere near you, you could finally be yourself. You could have finally at least told me, why?"

"You are the most important person in my life Chlo. I knew you wouldn't care, but I was just so afraid of losing you. It's hard to finally be out in the open after hiding for so many years. There were so many times I wanted to tell you. So many times when we were hanging out that I just wanted to ki-" Beca suddenly stopped talking realizing she had said too much.

Chloe's eyes got big, unsure whether or not she had just heard her right. "Wanted to what?" Chloe managed to say. Chloe found herself suddenly staring at Beca's lips, hoping she would understand what Chloe so desperately wanted the short brunette to do.

Beca noticed Chloe look down at her lips. This was the biggest decision she had to make right now. She could tell her, or kiss her and risk reading the signs wrong and losing her best friend forever, or she could pretend like nothing happened and feel horrible for the rest of her life because she didn't tell Chloe how she felt. Then without warning Beca felt her own arms move up to grab Chloe's face. She heard a gasp come from Chloe. Their faces were getting closer, she wasn't pulling away. This must be a good sign. Slowly their eyes fluttered shut and their lips brushed. Beca felt Chloe deepen the kiss. They're lips moved together in a perfect rhythm like they were meant to be together. Slowly after a minute the girls pulled apart and rested their foreheads together.

"I love you" Chloe whispered to Beca, breaking the silence between them.

"I love you too Chlo"
