Second chap already.

I'm trying to finish this story off today, since these two and half of the next chapters were pre-written.

Annabeth blew a strand of hair out of her face irritably. Where was the gods-be-damned milk?! Honestly, she would rather fight a cyclops than find her way around Walmart.

After what Percy said about Stetheno and Euryale, everytime the daughter of Athena entered a grocery shop (scarred for life), she expected two women to start hounding her about Cheese 'n Wieners.

As if she hadn't had enough hounding, Annabeth thought bitterly. Percy had been really sweet and protective with Annabeth in her state. After the first couple of months, it started to get annoying. The constant reminding of 'I'll get that for you' or 'here, let me' and her least favourite 'stay behind me'. She could absolutely deal with monster attacks when there was a little Minotaur ramming into her bladder every two seconds!

Everytime Percy, Rachel, and Grover left on their environmental excursions, Juniper took up the hounding-mantle. At least Juniper had good intentions. Don the faun, Rachel's boyfriend, made a point of assisting the daughter of Athena just to annoy her. He really liked to rub it in her face that she was 'helpless'. Oh how Annabeth wished she could wring the roman's scrawny little neck.

If it weren't for Rachel, Annabeth would have gone stir-crazy. Rachel proposed the idea of Annabeth getting a vacation. Juniper, Grover, and Don had all protested but Percy didn't. He merely looked her in the eye, kissed her forehead, kissed her stomach, and told her to be safe. Annabeth's heart melted.

After much consideration, she was on a bus ride to Los Angeles. She was going to kick back and enjoy. They used a couple hundred bucks to get her a nice room in a spacious motel, close to the theatre where she could laugh at the shows like the locals.

As soon as she was unpacked, Annabeth got her sunglasses on and changed into a low-cut flowery dress that showed off her pregnant stomach and California-tan skin, to enjoy her vacation.

Every so often, a guy approached her. Annabeth merely flashed them a fake smile, showed off her wedding ring and put her other hand around her stomach, causing their cheeks to flush and them to sulk away.

After lunch in McDonalds (don't ask what pregnant ladies' crave), the daughter of Athena decided she would stock up her fridge for food and made a list of all the items she could need for the next few days. Looking up a route to the nearest Walmart, Annabeth hailed a cab and was on her way.

When she got to Walmart, the daughter of Athena ran around the shop, grabbing everything she could find that wasn't pickles (you've been warned, don't ask). Once she got to the end of everything she wanted, Annabeth decided to start grabbing stuff off her list. She searched around, getting the necessities, before landing herself in the far-too-thin dairy aisle, searching for 'Horizons Organic' milk. She was alone down there, it was kind of unnerving. The only other person was a blonde dude with his head in the fridge, looking through the Greek yogurt and chuckling to himself. Next to the cart was a small boy with curly brown hair and beady dark eyes. He looked about ten-years-old.

nnabeth grabbed some of the organic milk and stacked two galleons into her cart and decided she would grab her blue food coloring next(it stuck, okay?) when her cart and the parent's cart slammed into each other.

Annabeth groaned and face-palmed in annoyance. She knew Walmart would be the death of her. The daughter of Athena concentrated on backing her cart up to go down the fruit aisle. What kind of architect designs a shopping aisle that you can't fit two carts down? She turned her head to make sure she didn't crash into anyone else when the parent spoke.

"Annabeth?"

Jason stared at his old friend and past comrade. It was nearing a decade since Percabeth left for New York, yet here was Annabeth, in the dairy aisle in Walmart, turning back around to stare at the son of Jupiter.

Jason still remembered the day the couple left, they had called him and Piper when the two were in Europe searching for Leo, the pair explained how New Rome and Camp Half-Blood were treating them. Jason had cursed Octavian with every deity he could think of(and that was many deities considering Jason was pontifex maximus) It was that asshole's fault his bro had left, Jason had thought bitterly. But the rational part of Jason knew that wasn't true. Percy had always wanted to be normal. Him and Annabeth still had mortal families. They had regular trips to the mortal world, unlike most other demigods that practically lived in either of the camps. Jason had accepted the change and made the couple promise they would be happy.

After two years, Piper and Jason hit eighteen with no luck in finding their fallen brother. Piper's dad was nagging Piper to stop travelling the world and to go start her life. The couple had to accept Leo Valdez was gone, it was the hardest decision they ever had to make.

They had come back to Camp Half-Blood and talked it through with Will, who gave them a free therapist session. After making sure Jason had ordered all the little action figures for the gods and goddesses, they moved to New Rome to go to college. They'd ignored the discrimination against themselves and spent their time together, they also helped Hazel and Frank uncorrupt New Rome.

After the pair graduated, they'd moved to L.A to be closer to Piper's dad. Piper started her singing career and became the famous 'Impulse'. Jason pursued a job as a historian in a university, he focused on mythology, a topic he was very good at.

Piper and he had an on-and-off relationship, until when they were twenty-two, when the pair sat down together and told each other that they were going to cooperate to stop screwing up their relationship before it gets away from them.

After three more years of working hard at their love-life to fix the gap Juno formed, the pair was getting eloped down in Vegas, Piper's new best friend Shel, her dad, Mellie, Chuck, and the good ol' Coach Gleason Hedge as their witnesses. Actually, their anniversary was coming up in a few months, Jason thought absent-mindedly. Maybe he should organise some plans.

Mr and Mrs Grace-McLean were living in a studio apartment together, just down the street from Jason's university. When Piper got bored, she went on tour to a random country, half-way across the world. Right now, she was in Puerto Rico, laying low. Jason was on his day off, stockpiling for the zombie-apocalypse down in Walmart.

He had a cart full of snacks for tonight. Mellie and Coach were going out for a night on the town. Tristan was on vacation with Piper down in San Juan, enjoying a father-daughter weekend. So the job of babysitting Chuck fell to Jason.

He had grabbed hundreds of snacks off the shelves, Chuck merely pointing at the ones he wanted. It had gone like that until Jason told him they needed to pick up yogurt.

"Why?" Chuck had asked.

"For my breakfast tomorrow." Jason had replied. Chuck had made a face, but didn't comment.

Once they were down in the dairy aisle, Jason opened a fridge stuffed full of Greek yogurt.

"Uncle Jason," Chuck called. Jason turned to the kid. "If a Roman eats Greek yogurt, does that make it Roman yogurt?"

"I dunno bud." Jason chuckled into the fridge while he searched for the right kind, looking for his favourite brand before picking up 'Greek Gods Greek Yogurt, Plain Vanilla'. Chuck outright laughed at the choice.

Another person entered the aisle. A tan pregnant blonde woman with a cart full of food. She turned her cart at the exact same time the son of Jupiter did, making them crash into each other. She groaned in annoyance and Jason finally got a good look at her before she turned her head to back up down the aisle. Jason's mouth fell open.

"Annabeth?" He asked incredulously. Chuck frowned at him, confused. Annabeth froze and turned to look at him.

"Jason?" She gaped.

"He tried to run forward to give her a hug, but forgot about the two carts in the way, and ended up ramming himself into the handlebar.

"Ow!" Jason winced, the air knocked out of him. Annabeth and Chuck snickered. "What are you doing in L.A?" He inquired, still winded.

The daughter of Athena wrinkled her nose. "Taking a break." She rolled her eyes. "Percy can't seem to decide whether he's an adorable puppy or a stern guard-dog." Annabeth rubbed the brink of her nose tiredly.

"So he's not here then?" Jason asked, crestfallen. He'd been looking forward to seeing his bro again.

"Nope, I think he's down in Houston." Annabeth smiled fondly. "Do you know he, Rachel, and Grover started an environmental group? Together they won a Nobel Peace prize." She told him happily.

Jason's mouth fell open. He whistled softly. "All whilst I'm some lowly teacher." He joked. Unlike when they were younger, Jason didn't feel his throat go tight with jealousy at the praise for the sea-prince. He was content with his life, the son of Jupiter had left his roman pride behind on the quest of the seven. When he met his father, Jason realised what an asshole he could turn out to be if he wallowed in bitterness and self-pity. After his near-death experience, Jason had been prepared to take whatever life threw at him and move forward. He took a page out of Percy's book, decidedly telling himself that he was never looking back. Honestly, now Jason just felt proud of his old friend, like he did with Piper when she had her first number-one hit. "What about you?" The historian asked Annabeth.

Annabeth beamed. "An architect, just like I always wanted." She grinned ear-to-ear. "You and Piper 'still together?"

"Married." Jason smiled. He gestured to her stomach. "I assume that's Percy's?" The son of Jupiter laughed. Annabeth rolled her eyes and reached over the pair of carts to slap him on the shoulder, Jason dodged easily.

"Uncle Jason?" A small voice interrupted. Chuck gazed at Jason with his big brown eyes. "Who 'dat?" Jason smiled at the child.

Annabeth squinted at him. "You must be Chuck Hedge. I'm Annabeth Jackson." She introduced herself. Jason's eyebrows shot up at the change of last name.

Chuck's mouth fell agape. "My dad told me all about the Second Mefohogecol Wars!" He said excitedly, stumbling over the word 'mythological'.

"Mythological." Annabeth corrected automatically before flushing pink. Jason laughed quietly, she hadn't changed at all.

Jason smiled at her. "Do you wanna hang out? After shopping, I mean." He rubbed the back of his neck. "A catch-up between friends?"

Annabeth grinned. "Absolutely, Sparky!" The daughter of Athena looked around the skinny aisle. "After we find a way out of here."

...

That's a rap!

I love pregnant irritable Annabeth

I do like Jason as a character, I have since the beginning. Yes, he is alive but I think I left enough backstory and shit for that to be justified.

Next is about Piper and Thalia! Who noticed how I said San Juan, where Reyna grew up?

Anywho, they next will be out before 2021.
