February 29th, a day that only comes once every four years. Anyone who's read any of my pieces should have a fairly good idea where this is going…
Nineteen-year-old Phineas ushered his friends into the coffee shop. "Hurry, hurry… there's no time to lose." He locked the door as Adyson ducked under his arm. "Who's got the cake? Ginger? Great… just place it over there."
Ginger placed the cake on the table near the fireplace. "How many candles should I put on the cake?" Phineas quickly glanced over his shoulder, then back to the task of counting out the cookies Isabella and Katie baked up. "I'm not putting candles on the cake this year."
Buford finished filling five large coolers with ice. "Why not? Ya gotta have candles on a birthday cake." Isabella emptied boxes of soda cans into the coolers. "We all know how old Ferb is. I'm sure he doesn't want to be reminded."
"Where is Gretchen anyhow? I thought she'd be helping." Katie commented. "Gretchen's making sure that Ferb stays away until we're ready for him." Isabella replied.
**An hour later the coffee shop is decorated with streamers and balloons. The drinks are cold and cookies, cupcakes and other treats are set out for everyone to enjoy.**
"Shh! Quiet everyone, they're here." Phineas whispered as he heard the lock turn.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" Everyone shouted as Ferb stepped through the door before narrowing his eyes at his brother. Gretchen moved into the coffee shop and slipped out of her coat.
Phineas stepped closer to his brother, "So, do you want to admit that you're twenty? Or five?" He said with a grin.
