Gretchen & Isabella (aged 10)
Isabella held the door for her second in command, who's arms were full of books. "Thank you." Gretchen squeaked as the tower of books began to waver.
Isabella moved to stand behind her friend. With hands on her shoulders, Isabella guided Gretchen to a vacant table where the books tumbled as the shorter girl collapsed into a chair with a second 'thank you'. Isabella smiled. "I'll get you a hot chocolate with whipped cream and chocolate drizzle." Gretchen blinked and spoke up. "Caramel drizzle" Isabella smiled and glided to stand in line.
It didn't take long and Isabella was back with two large mugs. "Hot chocolate with caramel for the best friend anyone could ever have." She said as she placed the coffee shop sized green mug in front of her friend.
Gretchen took a sip and sat back. "Where do you want to start?" Isabella looked at the pile of books. "These are all Fireside books?" Gretchen nodded and Isabella continued. "What have we covered?"
Gretchen picked out one book and held it out. Isabella's jaw dropped open to reveal she had recently lost a baby tooth. "That's it? That's all we've covered? What are the rest of these books?"
Gretchen smiled and seemed genuinely excited. "These books," Gretchen started as she stacked some in one pile, "...are some of the international books and these books.," another pile was created, "... are for advanced Fireside Girls and this last book," Gretchen held it up triumphantly, a sparkle in her eye, "is for the Pathfinder level."
Isabella's violet eyes mirrored her friend's excitement. "Let's get started."
