Ferb & Buford (age 22)
Twenty-two year-old Ferb opened the door to the coffee shop of sighed. This was the last time he would be setting foot in this establishment. He approached the barista at the counter and placed his order. "An extra-large London Fog and a crispy square please."
The barista smiled as she rang his order in and charged it to his credit card. "Alone today?" She inquired as she usually saw him with either a short brunette or a red-headed young man. Ferb nodded as he pulled out his wallet to put his credit card away and placed a ten dollar tip in the jar.
He looked around and spied an empty table near the window. He hung his coat over the chair and went to collect his order. He sat and inhaled the aroma of his beverage as he looked out the window. He turned in his seat and took in the atmosphere of the coffee shop.
The door opened and Buford strolled in. "Hey." He zeroed in on Ferb and sat across from him. "Haven't seen ya in a while." Ferb shrugged, sipped his drink and frowned as he placed his elbows on the table. "I'm moving."
Buford blinked in surprise. "Does Short Stuff know? Do your parents? What 'bout that brother o'yours?"
Ferb nodded. "They know. They all know." He sounded upset. "I couldn't keep that from her. It wouldn't be fair."
Buford studied his friend. "So, where ya moving to?" Ferb was silent for an entire minute as he looked into the depths of his cup. "Seattle. I've got a job at the airport."
Buford sat back in his chair, rocking it onto its hind legs. "Got a place?" Ferb cocked an eyebrow. "Not yet. I got the call day before yesterday. They're going to put me up for a week, until I find a place."
Buford studied his friend for a moment. "One of my old classmates lives there. I'll give her a call and she'll scout out a couple places for ya. What you looking for, a house or an apartment?"
Ferb blinked at his friend, his drink all but forgotten. "An apartment would be fine."
Buford nodded, "Short Stuff gonna move in with you, or will she stay behind?"
Ferb frowned. "I sprung this on her yesterday. I'm waiting to hear her decision."
AN: I'm thinking of creating a piece based on this, what does everyone think?
