"Let go of me!" Natalie shouted back at Tae when he reached out for her arm, yanking his hand away in the hallways of the dropship. Her eyes were filled with tears and terror of who she thought she liked, but everything he told her was a lie. It just had to be. He had to be working for Revenant…
"Natalie, please. Will you just listen to me?" Tae asked, heartbroken.
Natalie took a step back to keep a distance from him, clenching her teeth. She could barely see the man in front of her with the tears filling her eyes.
"Tae Joon. I…I can't believe anything you say to me." Natalie answered.
"You can believe this one time. It's Nox. Why would I try to hurt you for no reason? You've helped me fit into this group of people and get me comfortable here, but you believe I will just try to attack you with Hack after everything you've done for me?" Tae explained, holding back tears himself. "I wouldn't hurt you."
Tae watched Natalie calm herself down, eventually reaching for her, but Natalie took another step back and shook her head.
"No, Tae Joon." She sniffled, avoiding his gaze. "I…I can't trust either of you. Not anymore. I'm…I'm sorry, Crypto."
Hearing Natalie say his alias instead of his real name had put pressure on his chest.
"Natalie…" He muttered.
"It's Wattson for you." Natalie spat, frowning.
Tae sighed, looking down at the floor. He couldn't look Natalie in the eyes anymore. Her eyes were no longer filled with terror, but now with anger. Tae didn't want to let her go, not yet.
"Will you believe me if I said I loved you?" Tae asked, glancing up at her.
Natalie's eyes were still filled with anger, but they had somewhat softened due to Tae's confession. She didn't know how to respond, so Tae took a step, and Natalie didn't move this time. Though, she fixed her expression to seem even angrier.
"No. I won't believe you. Saying something like that only makes it seem like you're trying to get out of your wrongdoing, Crypto." Natalie finally answered, but Tae didn't care.
Tae believed this was his only chance to show Natalie how much he cared for her. So, he quickly leaned forward, cupping her cheeks, and gently kissed her. Natalie made a noise in her throat at the sudden movement Tae had made, but she didn't move. Eventually, Natalie relaxed into his kiss, allowing more tears to fall from her eyes.
"C-Crypto…" Natalie whimpered out, trying to understand how to respond to his feelings besides returning the kiss.
Tae pulled back from her lips, but his hands were still cupping her face.
"I wouldn't hurt you…not after you've been healing me. I've been on the run while trying to find who killed my sister for a while now. I've been alone and angry for so long that when I met you, Natalie, you helped me smile again."
Natalie didn't respond, still in shock of Tae's confession as he stepped away from her.
"If you don't believe me, I'll understand, but how I feel about you is true…even if I was the mole." Tae continued before stuffing his hands into his coat pockets. Then, he took another moment to look Natalie in the eyes before leaving her alone in the hallway.
After Tae had turned the corner, Natalie allowed her tears to fall again. She began to shiver, hugging herself tight. She had fallen in love with Tae Joon Park, but she couldn't stand to believe any word that came out of his mouth anymore. Natalie wanted to say those three words too, but her voice crackled, keeping her inaudible.
