And the long wait is finally over! I am sorry that the chapter is being uploaded so late, but today my back and neck problems came in the way of me sitting down and uploading the chapter. To be honest, this is the first time during today that I am on my computer, and right now it is almost 11 pm where I am at.

On another note, I want to thank all of the old readers for waiting a year for this. I would also say, that for some the next 9 chapters will be something they have read, with a few twists. Personalities and scenes might have changed, but the plot hasn't.

A final thing to say, before I let you all read the chapter, is the fact that this chapter was originally 3 chapters. I decided that the original three chapters were small and belonged together, so instead of having them separate I just combined them into one chapter.

Steven POV:

"We won't let you trick us again!"

"Hey, Rubies!" I yelled, ready to push the button at the right moment. "Take this outside!" I then pushed the button and watched them being dragged to the opening. They ended up being stuck in the opening.

"You can't get rid of us that easily!" They yelled, looking really mad. I kind of get why they would be mad. We did trick them after all, and Eyeball did look very happy when she thought she was talking with Jasper. It's so sad.

Pearl and Garnet then transformed into Sardonyx with her weapon, ready to bash them into space.

"I bet that she can!"

Sardonyx hit was spot on, and the Ruby fusion split. It went perfectly. Except for the fact, that I was too close to one of them, Eyeball to be exact, and that she grabbed me, making me lose my grip and fly into space with them.

"STEVEN!" I heard before I blacked out.

When I woke up again, the first thing I saw was pink star dots. It took me some time to see that it was my bubble shield. The next thing I heard was voices.

"What did he do? How did he make this bubble?"

"How am I supposed to know? I haven't seen this before! None of the other Quarts' knows how to do this."

"Maybe it's an Earth thing?"

"Could be, I mean, he doesn't even look like a Gem! He looks like the beings that occupy the Earth."

"He has to be a Gem! He has a Rose Quarts on his stomach. It even looks like…"

"Don't even think about it! If he was Rose, then we would already be dead! You know what she did to Pink Diamond!"

"I know Ruby, It's just… It's even in the same place as hers. It's too much of a coincidence!"

They are talking about me. Wait, Ruby! They are the Rubies. Oh crap, oh crap! I'm dead! I must have made a sound because suddenly they became quiet. I then felt someone poke my cheek. I tried to ignore it and lay as still as possible, but then they started poking my side.

"Stop it, stop it! You are tickling me!" I screamed, laughing like a mad man with tears streaming down my face.

"What is tickling?" Navy asked me, while the others took a step back from me, regarding me carefully.

"It's when you poke someone or wriggle your fingers on their body, in certain places in certain patterns," I explained. I have had to explain this to Peridot and Lapis many times.

One of the Rubies, Doc, took a step forward, so she stood beside Navy. Navy took a step back, allowing their captain, I think, to have the stage.

"Crystal Gem! We don't know what you did to make this mystical bubble, but under the circumstances, we are now in, we will have to cooperate to make most of this situation," she said, with her arms behind her back. "Therefore, we will play a game of question. We will ask you a question and you will answer truthfully. After that, you can ask a question and we will answer just as truthfully as you." It was an order, but I could see the point in doing it, so I didn't mind.

"Okay, let's get started," I said, waiting for them to ask me a question. They got into one big group and started whispering. Sometimes they would look over at me, before going back to whispering. Finally, Leggy turned to me and asked:

"What are you?"

I expected that question. I took a deep breath before explaining.

"It's kind of a complicated story, so if you want to ask something else instead, I don't mind," I said because it was true. Even if I answered the question, there would just be even more to explain, after explaining that I am my mom. They looked at each other, before nodding.

"We have time."

And with that being said, I explained everything. How my mom was Rose Quarts and how my father was human. How I was half-human, half Rose, and how I didn't remember anything that she has done when she was herself. How I was still able to fuse but had only tried with humans and how I was raised by the Crystal Gems. When I ended my story, they all looked horrified.

"What's wrong? Why are you all looking at me like that?" I asked, worried that they would attack me because Rose being a part of me. It was Eyeball that answered my question.

"It's just, she actually did it. She said she would do it if we didn't leave, but she did it anyway. That… that monster!" Eyeball looked even more horrified after saying this and started to walk towards me. At this point, I was really scared and started backing up, but it wasn't long before I had my back against my bubble. When she was in front of me, she reached out but stopped right before she touched me. Then she suddenly hugged me.

"I am so sorry! Had we known that you existed we would have come for you," she said before pulling back. "We have to get you back to Homeworld as soon as possible. How long have you been existing?"

I was stunned but answered: "Fourteen years."

Eyeball nodded to herself. "Good, then there is still time. The problem is, how to get someone to help us."

Suddenly a light shinned on the bubble. I thought it was the Crystal Gems, but was quickly proved to be wrong, when I saw it was a different kind of spaceship, with the three Diamond symbol on the front of it.

"It must be the patrol! Come on, let's go!" After Doc said that, they all punched the bubble so hard it burst. They all made their way into the ship, with Eyeball dragging me.

"Come on, Steven! The quicker we get home, the quicker we can get you fixed!"

"Hey, wait a minute- "

That was all I got to say before we were in the ship and the ship's door closed.

The spaceship wasn't big. It was a little bigger than the one the Rubies came to Earth in.

As I was dragged into the middle of the room, I saw the Gems in the spaceship. They weren't Rubies.

They were Peridots.

They looked exactly like Peridot did. From the clothes to the limb enhancers, to the placement of their gem, which seemed weird to me, since all the Gems I had seen had their gems in different places from one another. Just take a look at the Rubies. Not one of them had the gem in the same place at the one standing next to them.

Eyeball stopped in front of one of the Peridots and started talking in low voices. I wasn't able to hear what they were saying, but in the middle of the conversation, the Peridot looked terrified and looked at me, before Eyeball could quickly reassure them. The rest of the conversation seemed to go fine, but sometimes the Peridot would still look at me.

When the conversation was finally over, the Peridot turned to the other ones.

"New orders! We are going back to Homeworld!"

The other Peridots just nodded and went back to work. I would have expected them to at least ask why, but they seemed content with just doing what they had been told to do. The Peridots then did something, I am not sure what, but suddenly the inside of the ship started to light up. My body started to feel weird like it was being stretched inside and out. My vision became blurry and I saw colourful lines in my vision. I tried looking at the Rubies, just so I could get help, but all I saw were blurry, red forms, together with blurry, green forms. And then it stopped.

When it stopped, I fell over. It was like when a car stops suddenly, and you lurch forward. Navy quickly came over to help me.

"Thanks," I said with a small smile. She just smiled back, there was something about that smile that send me on the edge. Like the innocence behind it was just off, somehow. But maybe I am thinking too much into it. Eyeball, together with the Peridot who seemed to be the captain, walked over to me and send navy on her merry way.

"This Peridot Facet-2H7T Cut-5XG will be escorted to the available Diamond," Eyeball explained. I nodded, too nervous to comply in words. The Peridot had a blank facial expression and had the same kind of limb enhancers as Peridot used to have.

"Follow me," she said before she started walking out of the ship. Eyeball was quick to follow, which left me standing there for a moment, before running after them. I might not be here on my own free will, but I don't want to get lost on a planet I don't know.

The planet was beautiful, in its own way. It might not have the nature that the Earth has, but the buildings and technology was something you would never see on Earth. It was like something out of a movie. Things were floating, and holograms could be seen everywhere. And I could see so many different Gems. Most of them being Pearls, Rubies, Peridots and Quartz'. But none of the Quartz' was my kind of Gem. They were mostly Amethysts and Jaspers. It must be because of what happened to Pink Diamond…

The Peridot lead us to a small vehicle, that kind of reminded me of a train. We walked on it and off we went. We were on it for about five minutes, before it stopped and I was dragged out. I looked up and saw, what could only be described as a palace, and a very big one.

On the way up here, Eyeball seemed to notice how nervous I was and tried to reassure me. "Don't worry, you have done nothing wrong!" and "The Diamonds will understand, it will all be okay," were some of the things being said, but it all went straight over my head. What if they only cared about the part about me BEING Rose Quartz.

It didn't take long before we were standing in front of a giant door. On it was the three Diamond symbol. The Diamond shapes were all different colours. The one to the left was yellow, the one to the right was blue, and the one in the middle and on top of those two was white. The door itself was a light purple colour, with a pretty pattern.

The Peridot turned to us. "Wait a moment, I will be back momentarily," She said, and then disappeared through a warp pat. I looked at the pat questionably. Eyeball must have noticed because she suddenly started to explain it.

"She went to a contact room, so she can contact one of the Pearls, and see which Diamond is available. We can't just barge in without knowing if they even have time for this. Of course, because you are an extreme occurrence, one of them, if not both of them, will want to meet you," Eyeball explained.

"I don't understand. Why am I so important? I understand that I am a Gem Hybrid and that the Gem I am made out of is THE Rose Quartz, but I am not really that special, really!" I exclaimed, having had enough of this. I just wanted to go back home!

"It is because of that, that this is important! The Diamonds will explain, as they more than I do. Don't worry, everything will become clearer," Eyeball explained with a tiny smile.

I opened my mouth to say something more when the door started opening. I felt my breath hitch as it slowly opened, and a voice called out:

"Step inside," it was a feminine voice, coming from inside the room. Eyeball took my hand and dragged me inside. After walking a couple of feet inside, the door closed behind us and we were met with total darkness. And then, suddenly, some kind of platform lighted up. On it was some… Pearls?

"All rise for the luminous Yellow Diamond," The yellow Pearl said, striking a pose with her hand on her gem, which was right over her chest, and the other hand elegantly raised into the air.

"And the lustrous Blue Diamond," the blue Pearl said, doing a little curtsy, with her see-through skirt in her hands.

Behind them, two more platforms lighted up. When the light had brightened down, you could see two giant figures. One of them had long blue hair, that seemed to be of one of the softest materials. She wore a blue gown. Her eyes were downwards, making her look sad. She also had what seemed to be a blue Diamond, places right above her chest. She was seated in a blue throne, and was looking serious but also curious. And the other…

The other one I had seen before. It was the Diamond Peridot had called back on Earth. The one she had insulted. The one she respected but was also terrified off. The one and only, Yellow Diamond. She was also seated in a throne, only this one was yellow. Her facial expression looked to be one of arrogance like she had other things to take care of, that was more important than what she was doing at the moment. But her eyes said the complete opposite.

"This emergency meeting was arranged by Peridot Facet-2H7T Cut-5XG, who was approached by Ruby Facet-1F4 Cut-4ND about an emergency matter," Yellow Pearl said.

"And what was this urgent matter?" Yellow Diamond commanded.

"The urgent matter was about-," Yellow Pearl suddenly stopped in the middle of her sentence, looking really shocked.

"About what, Pearl?" Yellow Diamond demanded, looking mildly annoyed.

Yellow Pearl seemed to find her words again and continued: "About am old threat from a national enemy, which had been followed through," she finished, looking pale and slightly disgusted.

"Why are we here if it is just something as simple as that?" Blue Diamond asked softly. She seemed to more soft-spoken than Yellow Diamond.

"The threat was from Rose Quartz," Yellow Pearl explained.

The silence after that was deafening.

Third POV:

The Diamonds couldn't believe what they had just heard. Rose Quartz? They hadn't heard anything from her the millennium. They had thought that they could just forget about her and Earth, and hope that she died in the final attack. Yet she refused to stay forgotten.

"And why should we care what she does?" Yellow Diamond asked, trying to act more composed than she actually was. "She has already gone through with her biggest threat of them all. What could be worse than that?"

Steven was confused for a moment, before realizing what she meant. 'The death of Pink Diamond,' Steven thought. 'Mom had really threatened to that before actually doing it? Why would she do that?'

Yellow Pearl swallowed loudly, before continuing: "We weren't told more, other than that Ruby Facet-1F4 Cut-4ND would explain."

"Then let the explanation begin before I decide to shatter you all, for wasting my time!" Yellow Diamond commanded, starting to lose her calm.

"Of course, my Diamond," Yellow Pearl said, before continuing. "Will Ruby Facet-1F4 Cut-4ND step forward, please?"

Eyeball stepped forward proudly and walked over to a lit platform. When there, she turned to the Diamonds and made a symbol with her arms and hands, that was supposed to look like a Diamond.

"My Diamonds. I am here to report a serious crime, that has to be dealt with immediately."

Steven POV:

Crime? I thought she was supposed to help me! I started to breathe a little heavier. After all, I had a reason to be worried.

"And what crime might that be?" Blue Diamond asked, eyes narrowing slightly onto me as if she was sure it had something to do with my presence in the room. And she is right in thinking that.

"Might I be allowed to tell you this, while also including my report, from my team's latest mission on Earth?" Eyeball asked a little nervous.

"If you must," Yellow Diamond said with a sigh. She seemed to be getting more and more frustrated, at this was dragged out.

"I will get right to it then, my Diamonds," Eyeball stated gratefully. "My team and I were sent to Earth, to find Jasper Facet-EA2 Cut-1XG and escort her back to Homeworld. On the way, we locked onto the coordinates of the Peridot that was supposed to be the escort of Jasper, but she was nowhere to be found. Instead, we encountered what we thought to be humans, who made us play an Earthling game, where if we won, they would tell us where Jasper was, and if they won, we would leave back to Homeworld. They won, but a Ruby that had come on out team, fussed with what a Sapphire that had disguised itself as one of the humans, creating that notorious Crystal Gem fusion! And we found that the beings we thought were humans were actually all Crystal Gems!

My team fussed together, and as we were getting ready to attack, we were stopped by the Peridot that had escorted Jasper. For some reason, she thought we had come for her, but when we explained we were there for Jasper, one of the Gems that looked very much like a human told us she was on Venus. We decided to trust what they said since one of the sources was Jasper's own escort. But we had been deceived, as she was nowhere to be found on Venus.

When we came back with the intent to get some more information out of the Gems, Jasper appeared to be with them. She said she had decided to stay on Earth and look after the prisoners, the Crystal Gems, and to make sure that there were no more of them lurking around on the planet. After some talking, we agreed that we would go to the Moon Base and report to you.

We somehow came onto the subject of… Pink Diamond's shattering," when that was said, Blue Diamond drew in a deep breath, while Yellow Diamond seemed displeased. "I told them about how I saw it, and who I saw doing it. I noticed that the Pearl acted… strange when I told them. But shortly after that, we came to the base, but it didn't really work. So, Jasper told us to report for her when we came back to Homeworld. But then, she suddenly became an Amethyst and overcooked one. We fought with the Crystal Gems and ended up in space with Steven.

Now, Steven told us what he was, or rather who he was, and I couldn't have been more horrified. SO, when we were saved by a ship on patrol, I quickly arranged for this meeting to happen," Eyeball finished.

"And what is this Steven?" Yellow Diamond asked, but she could have been commanding it with the way she said it.

"He said that he was the offspring of a human named Greg and Rose Quartz," Eyeball stated.

A lot of things happened quickly.

Blue Diamond gasped with her hand in front of her mouth and everyone was hit with a beam of what seemed to be sadness. Because of this, I started to cry from one eye, which confused me greatly. Yellow Pearl seemed to not know what to do, while Blue Pearl was just staring at me with her mouth open a little bit. Yellow Diamond looked furious and suddenly just poofed Eyeball. This scared me beyond belief, and I started curling in on myself, as a way to not only protect me but also my gem.

"Yellow, stop!" Blue Diamond suddenly yelled. The words echoed through the gigantic room, making the otherwise silent room more tense. "I know that you are angry, but you can't take it out on the Ruby! Without her, we wouldn't have known of this!"

I uncurled and looked over at Blue Diamond, before shifting my gaze to Yellow Diamond. She still seemed to be furious, but the look on Blue Diamond's face made her take a deep breath, and slowly calm down. At least I know who to go to if I don't want to get killed. That is if I survive this meeting.

Yellow Diamond suddenly turned towards me again. She just looked at me before opening her mouth and speaking to me.

"I'm sorry if I scared you. This situation must already be scary, and I don't want to distress you even more. But don't worry, we will get everything ready for the Gem Splitting Operation."

When I heard the word gem splitting, I turned pale. Was that a fancy word for splitting my gem apart, and in that way shattering it? Were they going to use me for testing, to see if I could survive without a gem? Blue Diamond must have seen how distressed I became because she suddenly lifted me into her hand.

"Don't worry Steven, it will hurt but you will feel better afterwards. You will finally be normal again," she said.

I suddenly found my voice again: "What are you talking about? I don't understand!"

Blue Diamond looked at me sadly, before asking: "You don't know? Has nobody told you what you are and what will happen to you of we don't fix this quickly?"

I shook my head, looking even more confused.

"When Rose created you, she went into a dormant state, where she resides inside your gem. What she has been doing, is collecting energy and nutrition from your being, to make herself stronger. So, when you reached the age of fourteen, you would suddenly age dramatically, and die in less than forty-eight hours. And when you finally died, her gem would separate from your body, and she would come back, just more powerful. The fact that you aren't dead yet, is amazing to me," Blue Diamond explained.

I couldn't believe what I had just heard. Rose, my own mother, had made me just so she could get stronger? That went against everything everyone had told me, even what she herself had told me in her tape. Did dad know? Or had he been deceived too? It was all so confusing.

"But what are you going to do about it?" I asked suddenly.

"We are going to split you two apart. When we do this, both of your physical forms will destabilize and you and Rose will no longer share a body," Yellow Diamond explained.

But I'm not a Gem! I'm part human. What will happen when I poof?" I asked, panicked.

"You will become a Gem. A full one," Yellow Diamond said, looking me straight in the eyes.

After that was said, everything went black.
