This is a two-shot I wanted to write for a long time, I hope you like it.

Disclaimer: Has slight swearing, all belongs to Uncle Rick.

Inspired by the story: Hope, into the Realm of Eternal. Highly recommend you read that before this. But you can still understand.

Part 1:

He lifted his tried hands equipped with a dagger made of ice and wedged it into the soft rock in front of him, pulling himself up. It was kind of monotonous, but Percy did it for himself.

For once, he did it for himself.

Because he had a whole life waiting for him above the surface, he thought as he climbed up to the world above from Tartarus. A life full of happiness that he would have earned after whooping Gaia's ass. He would escape Tartarus even though every. Single. Thing down there thought he could never do it, maybe they were right. Maybe he couldn't do it, because before this he had defied the odds for his friends, family and innocents that were counting on him.

But now , for one fucking time he was doing it for himself.

He was no longer Percy Jackson, Son of Poseidon, Defeater of Kronos,Holder of the sky, Slayer of the Minotaur, Medusa, and many others, Sailor of the Sea of monsters, Traveler of the Underworld, Labyrinth & Tartarus. He was a lonely, desperate boy that had given too much and received too less. He was a broken boy, just trying to do what was expected of him.

The darkness almost seemed mocking, but that only gave him more resolve.

Flashback:

(Percy had just told Annabeth to get into the elevator and she refused. )

She was impossible! One of the things I love about her. . .

Suddenly, with a roar Tartarus stabbed Damesan in the gut and he disappeared in a shower of gold. Anger replaced his fear as he reached to give Annabeth a sweet last kiss.

He put his everything into that kiss, savouring her as much as he could. Then he abruptly pushed her into the elevator and pushed the button.

"PERCY!-"

She could kill him later, he thought, If he came out of this alive. One gods damned more sacrifice he made.

"Ahh sacrifice. Your heart is golden, Son of Poseidon. Unfortunately, you have sealed your doom." Tartarus boomed in his backward record sounding voice. Percy accepted that this would be his doom and did another stupid thing Annabeth would kill him for.

"Tartarus!" He called, looking at the endless vortex that was his face boldly. Inside he was so scared his thoughts were incoherent, but faking confidence was something he excelled at. "I challenge you to a duel, one-on-one, no powers, just skill. If I win, you have to let us go and no monster attacks us in here. Unless you're too scared?"

The Primordial laughed loudly, not believing my foolishness.

"Alright demigod. Let's see how long you last against me."

Bob took his place in keeping the button pushed, shaking his head and pleading with Percy to not do it.

He readied himself in front of Tartarus, whose mere presence was sapping his strength. This was an entity he could never hope to defeat, but he could buy time for his love. His friends counting on his help, his mom hoping he would come home.

He charged.

(After a while of fighting.)

It was the toughest fight of his life.

Tartarus was too fast for the normal eye to see, his vortex-face kept dangerously distracting Percy. He was not showing any mercy. Percy gave into his instincts, letting them take over, the one thing he trusted more than Annabeth, one thing that saved him Every. Single. Time the Primordial raised his blade. He could see that Tartarus was surprised at his skill, for his eyes transformed from mocking to slight respect.

Tartarus suddenly changed the direction of his slash too fast and after days or weeks of little to no food and rest, Percy Jackson finally wasn't fast enough.

But something held him back from killing me. He stopped his blade and said.

"You have earned my respect, demigod. I will let you escape to the upper world and order no monster to harm whilst you are here, after that, you're free game." Tartarus said with a grin

"Thank you, Tartarus." I stammered out, completely confused and shocked.

Flashback complete.

So, here he was, once again raising the dagger and plunging it into the soft rock. He could finally see the light at the end of the tunnel, or in this case, hole. Pit?

Fuck you. He thought to all the monsters and whatnots that thought he couldn't do it. Now they would think thrice before attacking him.

Because he knew that now onwards he would have that extra little percentage of actually winning, that he would be just a little more stubborn enough for the Fates to have mercy.

Just as Percy Jackson didn't fall into Tartarus, He didn't do it the normal way. In his opinion, normal was overrated anyways.

No, he climbed out.

I just had to get it out of me.

I created this *Gestures to everything and anything* because I had ideas that were too small for an all-out story, and have many more ideas. I do accept requests, but PM me as I don't want to spoil the surprise.

I know that this seems a little impossible to do, but just ignore that. Rynna's story is awesome, you should check that out too.

See ya next time! Also, I decided that it should be a one-shot instead of two-shot.
