Hey Guys! Sorry if this update comes a bit late. For me, it is around 9.30 pm, and I am quickly uploading this before bedtime. The reason I am first doing it now is because of health reasons, that I will talk about in the end A/N, so for those who don't care (which I get since you don't really know me) can just skip that A/N at the end.

I hope you enjoy this chapter!

Third POV:

Steven was walking down the hall with Blue Pearl, thinking about how his first few moments as a full Gem had gone down.

"Where is she? Where is my mother?"

The Diamonds were momentarily shocked before Blue Diamond got her bearings back.

"I don't think it is such a good idea for you to see her right now, Steven," Blue Diamond told him. That made Steven more frustrated than he had been since he reformed.

"Is that even my name anymore?" Steven asked them. "I feel so different. Where I before could spend all of my day watching Crying Breakfast Friends, I now wonder how I could watch that for so long. Running around town, going to the market and stuff like that seems pointless to me now. Almost all of the things that made me Steven has disappeared or changed in some ways. Can I even call myself that anymore?" Steven asked very distraughtly.

The Diamonds had had a feeling this would happen at one point. Just not so soon. They had seen it in the species they had come upon before. When they went through major changes in their lives, they would have a breakdown of some sort. For Steven, having his personality changed so drastically, would, of course, lead him to question himself. Nothing they could do or could tell him would change that. He needed time to cope. And meeting his mother for the first time wasn't what he needed. Not now.

"We told you that this would happen," Yellow Diamond said sternly. "Don't act like you didn't know this would happen. If these things really were important to you or useful in any way, then they wouldn't have changed. Think of it, as your mind getting rid of stuff it knows aren't needed to make you survive this world.

Steven nodded, even though he only listened with half an ear. She was right about one thing though. Self-pity wasn't something he should indulge in. Not now, when he had things to do.

"Where is she?" Steven asked again.

"We will not tell you where she is!" Yellow Diamond told him. You could see she was starting to get frustrated. While she knew this was all new to him, being a full Gem, being a part of Homeworld, she was still expecting some form of respect. "when we deem you ready, you will see her." Blue Diamond nodded in agreement.

Steven started to get angry. Why couldn't they see that he needed this? That he needed to confront the person he had called his mom all of his human life. He needed closure so that this seemed less like an illusion and more like the reality it was supposed to be.

Surprisingly, it was one of the Pearls who talked next. "My Diamonds," Blue Pearl started. "Maybe it would be best for him to be the first to see her. As we all know, she is a hard Gem to break. But maybe seeing Steven, would help in making her crack."

The Diamonds seemed to think this through, before Yellow Diamond sighed, and nodded. "All right, but you will be the one to escort him and have full responsibility for anything that happens." Blue Pearl nodded to this, before turning to Steven and walking out of the door, with a "follow me".

And now here he was, following Blue Pearl to the destination of his mother, his creator. The person who had half the responsibility for why he was here, in this universe. He found it kind of ironic, that his mom would use a human with the last name being Universe, to commit the crimes she did. It was like she unintentionally made his destiny, to be a part of something bigger, something involving the entire universe.

He looked over at Blue Pearl. This was his first time seeing another Pearl up close, other than Pearl. He had known that Pearl wasn't the only Pearl in the whole universe. But it was still so weird to see the differences between Pearl and Blue Pearl. With the Rubies, they all looked very similar to Garnet's Ruby, with the exception being the uniform. But with Pearl, Blue Pearl and Yellow Pearl, the similarities were few. The only concrete similarities were the gem and the figure of the body. Everything else was different. Their clothes, their hair, their colouring. Was this normal?

"Blue Pearl," Steven said. "Why are you and Yellow Pearl so different from one another?"

Blue Pearl didn't even move to look at him when she answered: "No two Pearls look the same. We take on the look that our master desires. If they wanted us to wear nothing more than a simple bodysuit, then we wear nothing more than a simple bodysuit. It is the same as for our function. We only have one purpose; serving our masters. It makes us feel complete. A Pearl, like Rose's, who is defect will feel incomplete, and will, therefore, switch from master to master, until they find what they believe will lead them to completion."

"So that's why Pearl chose to help and follow Rose," Steven said. "Because she thought that she would help her feel complete."

"That is what we assume," Blue Pearl said. "We believe that Rose promised to show the Pearl how to do what she had done. If she was ever going to go through with her promise, we don't know." They walked in silence for some time, before Steven broke it again.

"How do you think mom, I mean Rose, will react when she sees me?" He asked, feeling a bit insecure. Pearl finally glances at him, not that he could see it since her hair was covering her eyes from view.

"She will be shocked. We didn't give her time to see you before both of you poofed. For all she knows, you died in the separation and we now have no real evidence of her newest crime, not that that's going to change anything. Seeing you might give is the opening we need, to get to know what happened to…" She didn't finish her sentence and looked to be deeply troubled. She glanced at Steven again, before continuing, "what happened to Pink Diamond."

"I thought you already knew that," Steven stated, getting confused. "She was shattered. The Diamonds said so themselves." Blue Pearl nodded, before speaking: "Yes, we know she was shattered, but we never found neither her shards nor the shards of her Pearl. We don't even know what happened to her Pearl. And without Pink Diamond's shards, we can never get closure." Steven nodded.

The rest of the walk was in complete silence. Blue Pearl was thinking about the past, while Steven was thinking about the information he had just been told. Homeworld wasn't over Pink Diamond's shattering yet. Their mourning faze was far from over. And he was now a key element for them to finally find closure.

They suddenly stopped in front of a door. If you looked at it, it would have looked like any other normal Homeworld door. It was white, with a small diamond insignia on it. But if you tried to open the door, you would quickly notice that this was no ordinary door. There was no door pad. It looked like there was no way for you to ever open it. But Blue Pearl knew how. She pulled out what looked like a pink, diamond-shaped piece of glass from her gem, and pressed it to the door. The door opened, revealing a type of glass door, just on the other side. The door wasn't entirely see-through, but Steven could the shape of a figure on the other side.

"The function of a cell-like this is that we can decide which action to take. We can decide to hide them, to not them be seen, to let them be seen but not see us, or to let them see us as we see them. Another thing is, that the last door cannot be opened. It is for our protection as much as theirs. We wouldn't want rogue Gems to kill them before we deem that their time has come." Steven nodded to this, before asking a question.

"How do you transport prisoners in there then?"

"There is a transport system built into the ceiling, floor and walls. When the Gem is poofed, we put it into the transport tunnel, where it then is dropped into the cell from the ceiling. When it is time to have them transported to their execution, we poof them by electrifying them from lasers build into the walls. When poofed, the floor will open up, and the gem will then be placed in a room, where guards will be waiting for them to reform, before they guide them to their execution," Blue Pearl explained. "In a minute, I will make it so you can see and hear each other. A chair will appear behind you if you need to sit down. You will have ten minutes only before you no longer will be able to see or hear each other."

"Okay…" Steven asked nervously. "Will you be here the whole time?"

"I will be near, out of sight," she answered. "I will not be able to hear what you are talking about, but will be able to hear you if you are in distress." Steven took a deep breath, before nodding.

Blue Pearl pressed the glass diamond against the glass door, before doing some gestures with her hands. She took a step back, bowed to Steven and then walked away. When she was out of sight, the glass door made a noise, almost as if it was metal, before Steven suddenly could see what was beyond the door.

For the first time in his life, he got to see his mother in person, and not just from a photo or video. She looked almost exactly like she did on the painting. Only that now, her hair was a mess and she didn't look peaceful or was smiling in any way. She suddenly looked up, probably noticing now that the glass was see-through. She looked at him before looked down again.

"What do you want?" She asked. "Have you come to see my execution?"

Steven stared at her in shock. Didn't she know? "Do you not know who I am?" He asked. She snorted, before looking up at him again.

"Should I?" She asked. "You must be some new form of Quartz they developed, while I was gone. How would I have any idea of what and who you are?" Steven continued to stare at her. "What's wrong, Quartz? Did they somehow make a Quartz more stupid than the rest already were?"

"You really have no idea, do you?" Steven asked in a low voice, almost a whisper. "I mean, I would think that after all this time, you would know when you are talking to…" Steven stopped. Not knowing how to continue.

"Talking to? Talking to whom?" Rose asked, not being able to keep in the curiosity. Steven looked down for a moment, before gathering his strength and looking her directly in the eyes.

"Your son."

Rose was shocked. Her son? But that is impossible. He should be dead! Yeah, the plan didn't work, but the separation should have killed him. In theory at least. Now… Now the Diamonds have concrete proof to present in front of White Diamond. She needed a plan. She needed…

Steven.

"Steven?" Rose asked in a soft voice. "Is that really you? Oh, how you have grown! I never thought I would ever be able to see you. I'm so happy- "

"Stop, mom," Steven interrupted softly. "That isn't going to work. I know. I know what you did. I know the reason I was born. I know everything! I am only here because I want to know something."

Rose's mother expression fell, and she looked shocked again, before falling into a neutral expression. "And what might that be?" She asked calmly.

"Did you ever love me?" Steven asked. "Or dad? Or was he just as much of a puppet as I was? Please, tell me that they are all wrong. Tell me, that you didn't know this would happen when you became pregnant with me. Tell me that the way you look it exactly how a Rose Quartz should look like. Tell me!"

Rose's expression changed once again. She wore a look that Steven had seen before. It was the same one Jasper had when she looked at either him or Garnet. Disgust. "Why would I ever love a human?" She said. "They are nothing more than tools, to be used when seen fit. And they know that. They adore beings like me, who show them kindness, even when it's fake. As for the second part of your question, you already know the answer to that. If you didn't, you would be here, trying to help me escape, not to talk to me."

Steven knew he shouldn't be shocked. But he was. He felt… empty. Then that emptiness was filled with rage.

The door started to make the metal noise again, signalling that the then minutes were up. Steven looked back at Rose, before talking.

"I have what I came for," he stated in a low voice. "I hope you enjoy your new home. Because I can promise you, they are going to do a lot of thing to you, before they finally shatter you. And when they do… I will be in the front seats, cheering them on."

Three weeks went by.

Three weeks of Steven coming to terms with his new existence, to the point of where he wasn't questioning if he was still, well, Steven, all the time.

Three weeks of Steven learning to live his new life.

In the first week, Steven was learning everything there was to know from two Peridots and a Pearl, with the Peridots explaining and the Pearl visualizing said explanations. He learned about Homeworld, most of the planets they had colonized, and also what happened when they were done with the planets. And while Steven wasn't happy with it, there was nothing he could do about it. Yes, he could go against it, go against Homeworld, but look what happened to his mom. Besides, if it weren't for the Diamonds, he would either be dead or be on his death bed.

The second week, he had been 'investigated'. Otherwise known as kindly experimented on. They did basic things, such as testing how much pressure his gem could take before it would begin to crack. They, of course, did this until just before it would crack, since they would have no way of healing him if it did crack. Steven had thought this to be weird since they should have Rose Quartz' for healing, but it was explained to him, that because of Rose, they bubbled them all, just to be on the safe side.

They would put him through different trials and exercises to see which powers he had. Steven still had this shield. The only differences from before is the size and a bit of the design. It is now almost as big as his body, and while some would see this as a problem, to Steven it isn't. Opponents will hit the shield instead of him, while he can thrust his weapon through the shield without damaging it. The colour of the shield is also black and pink. The gem and thorn wines are still light pink, but the rest is now a greyish black. And instead of the gem looking like a rose, it now looks like a pink version of the Diamond Insignia.

His healing spit has now become tears, like Rose's. But he can also emit energy from his hands, which can heal Gems. They also found out that he can look into the mind of others, but to what extend is still unknown.

The third week was a mix between training his powers, so he would have no problem using them, and, through some Pearls, watch the interrogations of Rose.

The last three weeks, while Steven had been busy rediscovering himself, the Diamonds have sent different Gems to Rose's cell to interrogate her, in hopes of getting some more information about the location of Pink Diamond's gem shards, and get specific answers as to why she did what she did. But Rose is a hard Gem to crack. And so far, the only crack there is came from the shock of seeing Steven, and even that crack is tiny. It shows how much she really cared about him. Steven even visited her once again, but she only had one thing to say:

"When you are here to help me escape, come here. But when you aren't, run back to your Diamonds, and don't come back."

And Steven did as she wished, and stopped visiting her. But it is hard on him, seeing his mother being locked up. He knows he should hate her, want her to be punished, and enjoy it like he told her he would, but he can't. She is still his mother. He told Eyeball this, who responded with:

"She is like your Diamond. And when it comes to our Diamonds, we will adore them in some way, feel something positive about them, no matter what we know they have done in the past. At least, until we see them do something bad ourselves."

Eyeball has become a permanent presence in Steven life. She had been instructed to become the first of his bodyguards. They would see in time if more would be required, but since he is safe on Homeworld, no more would be needed at this time.

And it is because of this, that Eyeball and Steven are having a rather intense discussion.

Steven POV:

"I am just saying, Captain, that with you being who you are, it can bring some unwanted attention!" Eyeball explained. I wanted to be able to go more out in public, but Eyeball wasn't having it.

"And I am just saying, that if the Diamonds only find one guard to be necessary, then they must think it to be safe enough for me to wander around," I said. We have been having this conversation all the way from the training grounds to my station near the Diamonds.

"But I don't think you get how serious this is!" Eyeball exclaimed. "While the rebellion did end, it doesn't mean that all of Rose's supporters got shattered on Earth. For all we know, there might still be someone here, who would want to hurt you!"

"Are you saying that the Diamonds don't know what they are doing?" I questioned, with a raised eyebrow. I know that wasn't what she meant, but I was getting tired of having this conversation. Eyeball started flushing and sweating.

"What? No! Of course not! I am just saying that as a soldier, I would know something about this!" Eyeball answered.

"And what do you suggest we do then?" I asked, already knowing the answer since she had been preaching it for the entirety of the walk.

"I am suggesting that we go to the Diamonds, tell them about our concerns and hope that Yellow Diamond doesn't poof us because we don't believe in her judgment. I can almost guarantee that if we win-over Blue Diamond, that she will convince Yellow Diamond to also say yes," Eyeball explained.

"And by 'we', you mean…?" I asked amused.

"You," Eyeball answered seriously before we looked at each other and started laughing. When we stopped, Eyeball continued. "But seriously, the Diamonds seem to like you very much, especially Blue Diamond. It wouldn't surprise me if you end up in her court."

"Now that you mention it, I haven't been put under a Diamond yet. Is that normal?" I asked.

"Normally not, but your situation is anything but normal," Eyeball explained. "I don't think you are going to end up in the Yellow Diamond Army, but other than that I have no idea."

"The Yellow Diamond Army?" I asked cluelessly.

"Yeah, you know, the people who serve under Yellow Diamond," Eyeball said as if I was stupid. We were silent for ten seconds before she seemed to realize why I would ask such a thing. "Right, you don't know anything about this either."

"No, so I would be happy if you could explain it," I stated.

"Alright. But maybe we should wait until after training tomorrow. It isn't hard to explain, but I need to get into detail about the war and other things like that, and I think you would like to 'sleep', or whatever you call it, for a bit before that," Eyeball explained.

"Fine, but there better be some really good stories mixed into the explanation," I said smiling widely. I might have been given a teenager's body, but the child still lives on inside of me. We walked in silence before we finally got to my station, as they called it. Gems didn't really have rooms. I said goodbye to Eyeball, before going to my 'station' and trying to remaster the art of sleeping. It must have worked since I was soon overtaken by darkness.

I was awoken by the blazing of red lights and an alarm. I was confused. This had never happened while I have been here. This can't be good!

I sprinted out of my room, only to see Quartz and Rubies running all over the place. I looked around and caught a glimpse of a Gem I hadn't seen in a while.

"Doc!" I yelled, hoping to catch her attention. At first, she was confused, until she saw it was me.

"Steven!" She yelled back and hurried over to me. "Why are you still here? Where is Ruby Facet-1F4 Cut-4ND? She was supposed to escort you out of here! Ugh, we have no time to find her now, I will just have to be your guard for now." And with that, she took my arm and started dragging me in the opposite direction of where most of the Gems were going.

"What is going on?" I asked. "Why do I need to be escorted?"

"A prisoner escaped," Doc explained.

"Prisoner? For all I know we only have one and that is-" I stopped talking when I realized what was going on.

"Yeah. Rose escaped."

A/N:

The reason for this update first coming as I am going to bed, is because of my health. I have been having back, shoulder, neck, head and stomach problems for weeks now, but it really went bad Sunday. Everything hurts all the time, even just laying in bed, breathing. Because of this, I haven't been sitting up a lot, as that hurts the most, meaning I haven't been at the computer a lot. Today has been especially bad, since one of the medications I use, I can't really use since it wasn't prescribed to me and, therefore, aren't meant for me. I have also been on some low-key painkillers, but they don't really work anymore.

I also haven't been able to even get a doctor's appointment, as I needed to be tested for Covid-19, and have it be Negative before I could even get an appointment. Luckily, I did get to do the test yesterday (Tuesday the 28th) and got my Negative result today, meaning I can call my doctor tomorrow and get an appointment.

I hope this gets fixed soon, as this kind of makes it hard for me to sit at my desk and finish this story, but luckily we don't have to worry about being short on chapters, until September.

I hope you all feel great and are taking the necessary precautions to stay safe. Also, remember to take time off to prioritise your health, both physically and mentally!
