Nico di Angelo was having the time of his life.

He was chatting with his boyfriend, Will Solace. The two guys had been dating for a few months. They didn't mean for the word to get out, but it was too obvious. First, they seemed normal. Then they started glancing at each other during classes. Finally, the one that really gave it away, they sat together most of the time. Hazel was the one that figured it out first. That night, they were hidden in the forest. Everyone at camp had been invited. The dryads offered to be their security to ensure no uninvited guests turn up. Dionysus might have known, but he didn't seem to be doing anything about it.

"So, Nico..." Hazel said, glancing between Nico and Will slyly. Annabeth noticed her gestures and snickered.

"What's so funny?" Nico demanded. Will leaned on a rock in embarrassment and tried to hide in the shadows.

"What the ladies mean to say is, 'What's up with you and Will? Have you taken a step yet?'" Rachel finished. She had been invited as she was visiting. Nico turned a fiery shade of red.

"Tell us! Tell us!" chanted Clarisse, who was sitting on her boyfriend, Chris', lap. The others started chanting too in hushed voices, making sure not to get too loud. Will finally stood like, hands raised.

"Fine, fine!" Will said, "I like Nico. I really do."

"Well, that's an understatement. Where were you during dinner, Nico?" giggled Hazel. Nico blushed.

"Nico made pizza, Hazel. Haven't you tried it?" Will teased playfully. Jason faked a gasp.

"Busted! Nico treats his lover better than his own sister!" he called out. Thalia then got an idea.

"So you're saying you love Piper more than me then?" Thalia retorted, glaring at Jason. She winked at Piper who got what Thalia was saying and smiled.

"Of course! Jason obviously likes me more than you!" Piper grinned. Jason looked at Piper, then Thalia, unsure what to say. After a few minutes, the pair burst into laughter.

"He actually thought we cared!" Thalia laughed. Nico smiled and suddenly felt dizzy. The world was spinning around him and he gripped Will's hand.

"Nico?" Will said. Will's voice sounded far away, like an echo. Then everything stopped.

"Nico, are you okay?" asked Will, pressing a hand to Nico's forehead.

"I'm fine. Just a headache. Sorry, guys, I'm turning in now. Just need some rest and I'll be good tomorrow," Nico assured him. Jason, who had organised the event, stood up.

"I think we should wrap this up too. Chiron would be suspicious if all of us turn up tomorrow yawning. Come on, guys," Jason yawned. Nico said his goodbyes and slipped off to the Hades cabin with Will.

"Nico, I know when you're hiding something. What happened?" Will asked worriedly. Nico shook his head.

"I'm fine, Will. Just a headache, I told you. You should go," Nico replied. Will reluctantly returned to his cabin and Nico plopped on his bed. The cold, harsh laughter rang in his head again.

"Children of Hades are meant to be evil. You will break Will's heart. You already have," the voice chuckled.
