Nico grinned inwardly. Hazel was so easy to manipulate. Though he did feel bad about it, it'd all be worth it once he gave Jayne a little taste of her own medicine. It was nearly nighttime so he grabbed out his diary and started writing.

Dear Diary,

I was right! Demeter kids do have a life plant. I found out from Katie the powerful ones are actually really weak when someone harms their life plant, which sucks, but Jayne is an exception. For stealing Sunshine, she deserves to be weak. I'm exhausted, so I'm gonna turn in early. Good night!

Nico thought it was a short entry, but he didn't care. All he cared about was chopping down that stupid tree. He lay down on his bed and drifted off to sleep, an evil smile plastered across his face.

Dawn arrived, and Nico bolted out of his cabin. He needed Jayne to be gone as soon as possible.

I want my Sunshine back, Nico thought, tears welling up in his eyes. He thought of the possibility that his plan wouldn't work and Will would find out what he did, and- no. Not possible. He didn't want it to be possible.

He found the tree and raised his sword, face full of resentment. He made sure to find one away from his cabin so no one would suspect him. He slashed the tree without hesitation. He heard an ear-piercing shriek from the Demeter cabin and smiled, tiptoeing back to his cabin and drifting off to sleep.

The next morning, there was a huge fight between what seemed like the Demeter cabin and the Apollo cabin. Chiron didn't seem to be present and the other cabins were taking their sides too. Nico rushed out and saw Will right in front of the crowd.

"Our cabin would never do that!" Will yelled. A boy from the Demeter cabin who Nico didn't recognise scoffed.

"You were always so friendly. Turns out you're just a backstabber!" he replied. Nico stood firmly next to Will and gripped Will's hand tightly.

"Will would never backstab anyone! He's the nicest, kindest person here!" Nico shouted. The people on Will's side agreed.

"Then why was Jayne's life plant slashed right behind the Apollo cabin? None of them even know Jayne, all except for your little sunny boy!" the boy shouted. Reality suddenly came knocking on Nico's door. He was so consumed in his own hate of Jayne that he didn't even come to realise how evil his plan was and where he even chose to slash the tree. Will suddenly just ran off into the woods. Nico glared at the boy and ran after Will.

"Will-" Nico started. Will looked away.

"I know you did it," Will muttered. Nico's face darkened.

"What? Then why didn't you just tell them? Why did you just let them blame you?" Nico demanded.

"Because I love you!" Will burst out. He started to cry.

"But I'm just wondering... why'd you hurt her?" Will cried. Nico dropped to his knees and buried his face in his hands.

"Because I don't want to lose you, Tesoro," Nico said.

"Jayne was nothing to me, Nico. You were my everything," Will said.

"I know, I was dumb. I just can't think of losing you. Tartarus wouldn't be as bad as losing you," Nico sniffled. Will kissed the younger boy and hugged him.

"Don't say that. You're not dumb. Just don't let your emotions cloud your judgement," he sighed.

"Wait. It wasn't my emotions. It was that voice!" Nico yelped.

"You've been having a voice in your head?" Will asked. Nico nodded.

"And I think I know who it is..." Nico growled.

Author's Note: I know y'all are gonna hate me for this cliffhanger, but it's necessary. Do you guys think Nico and Will are too emotional? I kind of do. Tell me your thoughts and review! Super sorry for the late update!
