Our story begins after the events of the Moro arc. The menace has been defeated, and Vegeta has returned to Capsule Corp to help Bulma with Bulla. Vegeta has just put the baby Bulla to sleep for her nap and has informed Trunks and Goten to go play outside or go to Kakarott's house.
"But dad, we want to play with the baby!" trunks says, sad that he can't see his little sister. Goten is nervously dancing in place, his old baby rattle in one hand, a blanket in the other. Trunks has sock puppets on his hands. Vegeta smiles inwardly at the boys and shakes his head.
"I know son. But your sister needs her sleep, as does your mother. I'll tell you what, you guys can play with her after her nap, but for now…." He places a finger to his lips to indicate that they need to stay quiet—the two boys sigh and nod.
Then Goten perks up and proclaims very loudly. "We can go to Gohan's house and visit Pan!" Vegeta's face controls as he shushes Goten very loudly. Goten slapped his hands over his mouth and apologized profusely. Bulla stirs but stays asleep. Vegeta sighs as he ushers them to go visit Gohan. The two boys leave, and Vegeta sighs, thankful for some quiet.
He pours himself some water and peeks in to make sure Bulla is sound asleep. As he does so, he hears a commotion outside. I swear if those boys….. Before he could finish that thought, Whis' voice echoes through the house.
"Vegeta! Vegeta!" Whis and Beerus make their way into the house. Flustered, he rushes over to them, shushing them and whispering that Bulma and the Baby are asleep.
"Sorry, you had a caller, and I thought you might like to pick up!" Whis chirped as Beerus quietly walked over to the fridge and took out a ham. Vegeta looked on angrily as Beerus swallowed the ham whole.
"Master!" Cabba's voice rang out loudly. He shushed Whis' staff and ushered the angel out. He then rushed over and grabbed Beerus and dragged him to the door.
"Sweetie, what's going on?" a tired Bulma stated, as Vegeta shoved Beerus out the door. His face turned red as she rubbed her eyes at the foot of the stairs.
"Oh nothing dear! It's all okay, just a cat got in!" He said, sweating as he ran to make sure Bulla was still asleep. Bulma yawned and walked back up the stairs.
"Tell Whis and Beerus I said hi," She said as she walked away. Vegeta sighed, thankful that Bulma wasn't upset and that Bulla was still asleep. As he made his way outside, another voice rang out.
"Vegeta, what are Whis and…." He turned and pounced, shoving Kakarott into the wall as he covered his mouth.
With a crazed look in his eye, he whispered, "I Just put the baby to sleep and then you three come barging in here! We will speak. OUTSIDE!" Goku throws his hands up to show he understands, and he walks outside. Vegeta peeks into Bulla's room one more time and is thankful that she is asleep.
He walks out and berates the three intruders.
"I'm sorry Master!" Cabba says, bowing. Whis has projected his image outwards, similar to that of a hologram. "It's just that….well I had told some of the Saiyans about you and how you guys saved us all from erasure, and well…...they want to meet you and….well you know during the tournament…...I'm soo soo sorry by the way, Master, I did not…"
"Enough!" Vegeta remarked as a vein in his forehead throbbed. "I remember my promise, and…" Cabba looked flustered and sad. Vegeta sighed, rolled his eyes, and softened, as Cabba's expression reminded him of the same one trunks made when he knew he was about to get in trouble. "It's not you I am mad at, it's these three idiots, who come barging into my home unannounced, making all kinds of noise," His voice rising with his temper.
Goku laughed as he scratched the back of his head, nervously. Whis chuckled. Beerus shrugged as he took out a pudding he stole from the fridge. Vegeta crossed his arms, and Goku chimed in.
"Of course, we'd love to go visit!" He then clapped his hands and smiled. "Pretty please, Vegeta, we can go now!
"Go where?!" Piccolo said as he and Gohan landed nearby. "What's going on now? Trunks and Goten said you sent them away, then I felt what I assumed was Beerus and then Goku. So what is it?"
"For the love of…" Vegeta started.
"I thought you couldn't sense God ki." Goku chirped, noticing what Picollo had said.
"I can't but being around him for so long now, I've got a faint idea for some type of energy signature from him." Piccolo responded. Bulla started to cry.
"For fuck's sake this is what I was trying to avoid!" Vegeta said, snapping as he powered up.
"I'm sorry Vegeta, I'll take care of it!" Gohan said as he ran in to check on the baby.
Piccolo then looked at the Cabba hologram, then at Whis, who was now stifling laughter, then at Beerus, who was picking ham out of his teeth, and finally at Goku, who was looking around confused. He blushed with embarrassment as he realized that he was just piling on. He looked down and cleared his throat.
"I'm sorry Master, this was clearly a bad time. I hope you can forgive me, I'll call you back later…" Cabba stammered as he tried to hang up. Vegeta powered down and sighed.
"Wait. We'll go." Cabba beamed with excitement, as did Goku. Goku placed two fingers on his forehead and reached his hand out to Vegeta.
"We'll be right there Cabba, let me just get a focus on your energy….."
"Not now you moron! I promised Bulma I would take care of the baby this weekend, while she relaxed! We will go after I clear it with Bulma!"
"Aww that's no fun! How about you leave Bulla and Bulma with Chi Chi. She loves babies and she could help take care of them!" Goku proclaimed, proud of his suggestion. Vegeta just stared at him in disbelief. Piccolo face-palmed and shook his head.
"Sounds good to me! I'll take them there myself, make sure your wife has some food lined up for me too…" Beerus said as he continued to pick the meat out of his teeth.
"Really dad?" Gohan said as he made his way back out. "You can't just offer up mom's services like that. You're lucky she didn't hear you." Goku shrugged, unaware of how absurd his request was. "Let's just respect Vegeta's space here and leave." He then turned to Vegeta. "I changed her diaper, and told her one of Pan's favorite stories. She went back to sleep surprisingly fast. Anyways, I'm sorry we bothered you Vegeta, we'll all be leaving now." He said as he motioned for them to leave.
"See Gohan can stay and take care of her and Bulma for a while!" Goku chimed in.
"DAD!" Gohan said, slightly annoyed.
Bulma peeked her head out from the front door and glared at Goku and Beerus. She walked out and closed the door behind her.
"Whis let's get out of here! Sorry kid, we'll let you know when Vegeta decides to go, but we gotta go!" Beerus said as Bulma glared at him.
"Fine, I'll pick you up later Vegeta, good luck!" Goku said as he teleported away. Whis and Beerus teleported away right after that.
"Oh gee, look at the time! Let's go back and check on Videl and Pan, Gohan!" Piccolo said as he floated into the sky and started to fly away.
"Thank you Gohan." Vegeta said through gritted teeth as he looked down, afraid to make eye contact with his wife. Gohan bowed and waved goodbye to them both. Bulma yelled out a thank you to Gohan and smiled, much to Vegeta's relief.
"I love you, you silly man!" Bulma said to Vegeta as he made his way back into the house. "See what I did there? That's how you trick a God of Destruction!" Bulma said matter-of-factly. Vegeta smirked, amused that Bulma could make Beerus and Kakrott cower like that.
"I love you too." he whispered as he apologized and hugged her. She smiled, happy to hear him say it out loud for the third time in his life.
"Good, cause I'm starving, I'd really love it if you showed your love for me in the form of one of your famous sandwiches!" She said as she made a cute face at him. He chuckled and agreed.
He filled her in on what they wanted, and she hugged him.
"Who'd have thought, you'd become such a big softie?" She said, teasing him. "Tell Goku you guys can go next weekend. I'll plan around it. I know you've been wanting to go, maybe you can take Trunks too! It would be good for both of you to bond over your Saiyan heritage."He smiled at the idea. Damn this earth woman and her super charm, she has a point too! He thought to himself.
