Nico POV

Nico didn't know what to do when Will was sad. He was never really good at comforting people, especially Will because he always felt really awkward around him.

"Do you have to go to the infirmary?" Nico knew Will's skills were almost always needed there since he was such a good healer.

"Yeah. You want to help out?" Will smiled, apparently pushing his negative thoughts aside.

"Ok." Nico smiled. If Will was happy then he was happy. Wait what?! Nico never did things to please other people, especially the annoying William Solace.

"Well that's it for my shift. I'm gonna eat and go to bed." Will grabbed a water bottle and took a big drink.

Nico was exhausted. He didn't know how Will could do this every day and still function.

"Ok." Nico headed towards the dining pavilion to grab food. He just wanted to sleep which was a rarity but he knew he needed a bit of food.

Nico grabbed a helping of mashed potatoes and started walking back to his cabin.

"Not so fast, Nico." Will grabbed Nico's arm, stopping him. He tried to shake him off but Will was much stronger than he looked.

In no mood to eat with people, Nico snapped at Will.

"Get off Solace." Nico growled, making all the new campers cower.

"No Death Boy. You're eating here so I know you actually ate." Will stepped in front of Nico, blocking his way.

"No!" Nico tried to walk around Will but Will just pulled Nico down into a seat at the Apollo table. All the new kids were looking at Nico in fear and fearing for Will's life.

"Nico, you need to eat something!" Will said loudly.

"No Sunshine!" Nico shouted, getting up from the table. He turned red and sat back down, hiding his head in his hands.

"Fine, I'll eat here." He muttered.

"Thank you." Will smiled and started eating dinner.

"Guys he's not going to hurt you!" Annabeth said and the new kids relaxed slightly.

Will chuckled until Nico elbowed him. Nico was thankful his reputation was still there. But did he really want to walk in the room and have everyone scared of him?

"Goodnight Death Boy." Will whispered. Nico smiled slightly.

"Goodnight Sunshine." Nico felt the butterflies in his stomach and tried to ignore them. He closed his cabin door and flopped onto his bed.

Charles Beckendorf, Silena Beaugurd, Bianca di Angelo. Nico saw their deaths.

"No! Don't do it!" He shouted when his sister Bianca decided she would stop the giant automation to save her friends.

Then he saw Tartarus' heart beating with an evil glow, the gathered monsters so tiny they looked like ants.

Nico sat up in bed, sweating and feeling sick. He walked out of his cabin towards the Apollo cabin. Nico quietly entered and found Will sleeping peacefully. He gently shook him awake, not sure if he actually wanted to wake Will up and trouble him with his problems.

"Nico? Are you ok?" Will was on his feet in seconds.

"Outside." Nico started moving towards the door and Will followed. Once they were outside, Will repeated his question.

"Are you ok?" Nico shook his head. Will immediately hugged him tight. Nico let his tears fall, making Will's shirt wet.

"It's gonna be ok Nico." Will kissed the top of Nico's head. Nico tensed slightly but then relaxed. Will always seemed to calm him.

Nico stepped away from Will and wiped his eyes with his sleeve. Will touched Nico's cheek gently before smiling.

"Yeah." Nico said just to convince himself. "Yeah. It's going to be ok. Yeah." Nico smiled at Will.

"Thanks Sunshine." Nico wanted to hug Will but he felt a little awkward. Will noticed his hesitation and hugged him tightly before telling him goodnight, walking Nico to his cabin and tucking him in.

Will left, right as Nico drifted into a dreamless sleep, feeling safe and happy for once.
