Muirgen79: Maybe I made this too sad? I'm thinking so.

Weightless...that's what I feel. I also feel myself drifting; towards where I'm not sure. The last thing I remember is feeling immense amounts of pain before nothing. That makes me wonder...am I dead? I hope not because I have so many loved ones I'd be leaving behind, but there's no other explanation for what this is.

Blackness is the only thing I see until everything clears up to reveal a somewhat familiar landscape. I conclude that I'm in the same place as when we were in Egypt and I met the Primes, except this time it's calmer and it's very clear. The metallic landscaping seems to shine.

"Hello again youngling." I hear a deep voice say behind me.

I turn and see the Primes from before. This time I'm standing on one of the metallic structures at their eye level so that I'm not straining my neck just to look at them. "I died didn't I?" I ask getting straight to the point.

"I'm afraid so. The strain was too much for your human body to handle." One replies regretfully.

I sigh and ask, "You knew all along didn't you? The last time we talked ya'll mentioned a change. Why didn't you tell me?"

"We couldn't keep you held here any longer, or risk you not being able to return to the physical world. I'm sorry that you could not be warned properly." He replies.

"What happened to my body?" I ask.

"Your change was completed. You are now one of us." Another replies.

I look down at myself at that, but see my human body instead. "I thought you said I changed?"

"Your physical body has youngling." He replies with an amused smile.

"So what was the point of me changing if it just ended up killing me anyway? Now I've left everyone sad." I ask angrily.

"You will not be staying that way for long, for we will be sending you back. We needed to discuss some things with you first."

"Like your powers for one." One says.

"What powers? I only got it to work once." I reply.

"That was in order to determine if you would use it wisely, which you did by saving an Autobots life without harming your enemy. You showed great character by doing so, and we could not be prouder in the Allsparks choice in a Guardian." He explains.

"A test?...I don't suppose I can blame you. Gotta make sure someone's a decent person before giving them unbelievable powers." I reply.

The Primes chuckle at my answer as one of them says, "Your humility and humor will warm many sparks."

"I know you said ya'll would send me back but what difference would it make if I can't control these powers?" I ask dejecting.

"Worry not youngling. Since you have proven to be trustworthy you will be given full control of your powers." He reassures.

"So I'll be able to help the Autobots?!" I ask excitedly.

They chuckle as one says, "Of course youngling. Be warned that your new body will be foreign to you in every way. It will take time for you to adjust to it."

"You mean like walking?" I ask.

"Among everything else, but worry not. You will adjust eventually. "He reassures.

I nod and ask, "So when will I get to go back?"

They smile at the hopeful tone in my question.

~ WITH THE BOTS~

After crying for a couple of hours over the loss of the girl he loves, Jazz lays her gently onto the berth and then pushes another berth beside her and lays on his side on it so that he can see her. He reaches over and holds her hand, now servo, gently and rubbing it lovingly. He's been doing this for the past two days.

Ratchet sighs from his place at the entrance, feeling very bad for the saddened mech. He also feels regretful for not being able to save her, especially after her transformation had completed.

"How is he?" Optimus asks as he walks up to the medic.

"Hasn't left her side...Primus, I've never seen him cry like that." Ratchet states.

"Losing a loved one is never easy, especially one such as Averie." Optimus replies.

"I wish I could have saved her." Ratchet says mournfully.

Optimus places a servo on his shoulder and says, "You and Jolt did everything you could. No one can expect anything more than that."

"Still doesn't make it easier to lose a patient, especially Averie. It was hard to not get attached to her." He states.

"She truly was a treasured friend and she will be greatly missed." Optimus says sadly.

As the pair talk in the hall, Jazz continues to stare at the human turned Cybertronian. "Ever since I found out ya were turning into one of us I started ta imagine what ya might look like. Let me tell ya, nothin I came up with does ya justice. Your gorgeous darlin."

He then reaches his servo over to lay it on her cheek. His voice hitches as he sadly says, "I wish ya could see yourself darlin. I'm sure ya wouldn' like bein' a plain silver but we got all kinds of paint, so ya could a been any color ya wanted."

"I wish I'd of taken the chance ta ask ya ta be my sparkmate. I can't think of a better femme to spend da rest of my life with...I love ya darlin."

"Jazz?" Ratchet announces as he walks into the room.

"Hey Ratch." Jazz mutters.

Ratchet sighs and says, "Jazz you really should refuel and get some rest in a proper berth."

"I'm fine here. Thanks." He replies.

"...Jazz it's not healthy for you to stay here, mental wise especially." Ratchet states.

"My mental state is just fine thanks." He replies stiffly.

"She isn't coming back." Ratchet finally says.

"Ya think I don't know dat!? I'm aware dat the girl I love is dead, and I don't need ya reminding me." Jazz replies angrily.

"Jazz, I di-

"Please...just let me stay with her for as long as I can. Please." Jazz says weakly.

Ratchet's spark flinches at the brokenness in Jazz's voice, so he just nods and walks out of the room, but not without hearing the light sobbing from Jazz. He walks down the hall towards the rec room. He doesn't have to worry about the humans getting underfoot since they use a different hallway as to avoid any unwanted accidents.

Once he reaches the rec room he sees Autobots and human's alike sitting around, most with sadness hanging over them. "Ratch?" He hears from behind him.

He turns and sees the Sideswipe and Sunstreaker sitting at a table. "How is he?" Sides asks.

Without having to guess who he means he immediately answers, "Not well. He refuses to leave her side. He knows she's gone but I think he's holding onto the non-existent chance that she'll come back."

The twins shake their heads at that. "Primus, this is all messed up." Sideswipe says sadly.

"She shouldn't of had to die." Sunstreaker growls to himself.

"Where's Averie's mother?" Ratchet asks.

"She's over there with Lennox, Epps, and some other solider." Sideswipe points to the other side of the room.

Ratchet turns to see just that. He himself has never lost a child, but he has seen plenty that have and his spark goes out to her. His thoughts are interrupted by a frantic com from Jazz. "Ratchet! Ratchet!"

"What is it?" Ratchet asks.

"It's Averie! She moved!" Jazz exclaims.

Ratchet sighs and says, "It's probably just a twitch. The body's nerves are still active even after the body has been dead."

"No! That's not what dis is. I saw her move. I swear! Please Ratchet, get over here!" Jazz exclaims.

"Alright alright. I'll be right over." Ratchet replies before cutting the link.

"What's up?" Sideswipe asks.

"Jazz says he saw Averie move." Ratchet replies.

Both mechs perk up at that and Sides asks, "Is she alive?"

"The body's nerves still work a while even after it's been dead. It was a twitch I'm sure." He replies.

They immediately look dejected. "Well maybe you're wrong this time." Sunstreaker says hopefully.

"Not likely." He says. He then makes his way back to med bay, all the while hoping he is wrong. When he opens the door he sees exactly what he was expecting to see...a prone Averie lying on the berth, with a now frantic Jazz sitting on the berth next to her.

Jazz spots Ratchet and quickly urges him over. "Hurry Ratch!"

Ratchet sighs but walks over none the less. He looks over Averie but doesn't see so much as a twitch. "Jazz-

"Hook her up ta the spark monitor and you'll see. Her moves are hard ta see, but they're there." Jazz argues.

Ratchet connects the monitor to Averie, but after a few minutes of silence just sighs. "I told you Jazz."

Jazz hangs his head low as he mutters, "I'm sorry. I thought-

"I understand... I wish she could come back too." He then goes to disconnect Averie from the monitor when he hears a noise.

Ratchet looks at Jazz and at his expression he knows he heard it as well. Ratchet examines the monitor, waiting to see if it was just a flook. Suddenly more beeps fill the room until there's a steady rhythm of beats that indicate a healthy spark. "Talk to her Jazz." Ratchet urges as he starts to work on Averie.

Jazz leans in and says, "Averie? Are ya there darlin? I saw ya move and the spark monitor says ya spark is active so dat must mean you're alive. Come on darlin wake up. Please. Please please please. Just online your optics is all ya gotta do. Dat's it. Please darlin."

Suddenly the servo that Jazz is holding starts twitching again, until the hand starts to actually move. It's slow and choppy, but it's movement none the less. Ratchet and Jazz immediatly perk up at that. Ratchet immediately goes back into medic mode while Jazz squeezes her servo while encouraging Averie to wake up. Slowly but surely, Averie's optics start to online until they are glowing a beautiful shade of blue.

~AVERIE'S POV~~

I slowly open, or rather, online my optics…it'll take me a while to get used to the lingo. I'm nervous about what I'm going to look like, but I'm also excited. I wonder what everyone else will think…I wonder what my mom will think. After my eyes are..um, activated; I look around and see that I'm in the med bay. I see Ratchet going frantic over something while Jazz is sitting beside me and holding one of my hands-I mean servos.

My head feels like it weighs a ton so I am unable to move it. The only thing I can seem to move is my eyes. The Primes were right when they said it would take some adjusting. From the way I'm laying I am unable to see what I look like, but I can tell that I am silver…that will have to be fixed.

Something in the side of my head seems to click and before I know it I can hear. Cool. "Is she wakin up Ratch?" Jazz asks anxiously.

"All her systems are coming online, so it should just be a matter of time." Ratchet replies.

Wanting to get their attention I try to talk, which doesn't take much effort. Thankfully. "Guys?" I ask in my new voice. It still sounds the same but it now has a metallic and melodic sound to it…and it is epic!

Both mechs heads immediately turn to me in surprise, but once that wears off both sport monster eating grins. "Averie!" Jazz yells as he immediately hugs my prone form.

"Amazing…a miracle of Primus himself." Ratchet mutters.

Jazz lays me back down as he grins widely. "It's good ta have ya back darlin. You gave everyone a scare."

"Not like I meant to, and I'm glad to be back." I then turn to Ratchet. "How long was I out?"

"You were considered officially dead for two days youngling." Ratchet replies.

Even though I already knew, thanks to the Primes, it still came as a shock. "That long?...how is everyone?"

"Not good. Everyone is sparkbrok'n over ya, but now we can tell em your alive! Ratch, let's call em in." Jazz exclaims happily.

Ratchet can't contain the smile that comes to his face as he agrees. "This will be quite the surprise for everyone." He then contacts Optimus on his com, "Optimus, please inform everyone to come to the med bay. There's something they need to see."

"He's telling everyone. They'll be here soon." He says to us.

Jazz looks at me softly and lovingly and says, "I thought I'd lost ya."

"Me too." I reply. "I'm glad I'm back though."

He smiles and says, "Me too darlin."

Our conversation is broken by the door opening and soon everyone, and I mean everyone, is pilling into the room. When they set their eyes, and optics, on me they widen as the Autobots exclaim, "Averie!"

Everyone rushes over and crowds me. This makes Ratchet very aggrivated and yells, "Don't crowd you bunch of glitches!"

I laugh as they back up just a bit, but still right by my berth. They just stand there with an awed expression on their faces and remain unmoving, almost like they don't know how to react. "I've been dead for two days and this is how you guys react now that I'm back? The least ya'll can do is give me a hug." I say jokingly.

That immediately envokes a reaction. The first to hug me is Chromia. "Thank Primus your alright. You had us so worried youngling...I should pop you over the helm for that!"

"Sorry Chromia. I missed you too." I reply.

I see a few tears run down her cheeks as she says," You look beautiful by the way."

I smile and say, "Thank you."

She then makes room for Ironhide. "Youngling."

"Ironbutt." I reply jokingly.

He lets out an amused grin before saying, "Guess now I'll actually be able to teach ya how to fight...now that your not puny anymore."

"She hasn't even sat up yet. She will have to get used to using her new body before she does any sort of training." Ratchet replies sternly.

"I'm aware of that Ratchet...no need to blow a gasket." Ironhide replies.

Ratchet replies with a wrench to Ironhides helm, causing him to yelp and me to laugh.

Optimus walks up to me and places a hand on my shoulder. "It's good to have you back Averie. I'm pleased that you are alive and well."

"Thank you Optimus...so does this mean I can be a real Autobot?" I ask.

He smiles at my request and says, "I would be honored to offically welcome you to the Autobots, but for now focus on recovering." He then scoots back to make room for someone else.

I get more hugs and shoulder pats by most of the Autobots, expect for the cool twins. I smile at them and wave them over. "You guys gonna ignore me?"

They walk over and Sides is quick to give me a tight hug. He then pulls back and says, "You know theres easier ways to get attention right?"

I laugh and say, "You know me. Go big or go home."

He chuckles before saying, "I hate that this happened to you, and don't take this the wrong way, but at least it was worth it cause you look good."

"You think? I haven't exactly had a chance to see myself since I can't even sit up." I ask.

"Trust me. This new look suits ya." He replies with a grin.

I turn my attention to Sunstreaker and ask, "So what do you think? Not completely awful right?"

He hums and says, "Not bad, but that silver color doesn't complement you at all."

Sides smacks Sunstreaker on the arm and says, "Geez Sunny would it kill ya to give a proper compliment, especially to the girl that you wouldn't stop moping about."

Sunstreaker growls at his brother and snarls, "Shut up and don't call me Sunny."

In order to break up a possible fight I ask Sunstreaker, "What do you think of giving me a make over once I can move?"

"Gladly. This silver doens't work at all." He replies.

"Hey. Some of us happ'n ta like silver." Jazz retorts jokingly.

"It works for you Jazz, but I like color." I reply while giving him a reassuring smile, which he returns.

"Hey! How about letting us up!" I hear someone yell from on the floor.

Optimus bends down and stands back up to show Lennox, Epps, and my mom in his hands. He puts his hands on the berth and they quickly scramble off and towards my head so we can see each other easier.

They stare at me in awe before mom walks up first. "Averie?"

"Yeah mom. It's me." I reply.

She starts crying again and walks closer to me and places a hand on my face. "I can't believe this is you."

"Are you dissappointed? Or upset?" I ask worridly.

"Of course not. Your alive so thats what matters. I don't think your room will work for you anymore though." She replies jokingly.

I laugh and say, "It may need a few adjustments...I'm sorry mama."

"Don't be. You have nothing to be sorry for. I know what your thinking and you better listen when I say that no matter what you look like, you will always be my baby girl...I love you." She states.

I feel a tear fall down my face as I nuzzle into her as she hugs my face as best she can. "I love you too mama."

She pulls back and then asks, "So does this mean you'll turn into a car now?"

Before I can reply Ratchet interrupts by saying, "She needs to learn how to use her new body before she can even think about transforming."

"How long do you think that will take anyway?" I ask.

"If you were a sparkling it would take vorns to properly be able to control your body, but being a previous human in an adult frame it's hard to say." He replies.

Unfamiliar with the word I ask, "What's a sparkling?"

"A Cybertronian baby." He replies.

"Oh. Awww! I bet their cute! A bundle of wires and metal!" I gush at the image of a robot baby in my head.

Everyone laughs at my response.

I turn my attention to Lennox and Epps walking up. "So this is the new you huh?" Lennox asks.

"Looks like. Hate it?" I ask.

"Actually you look pretty bad a-" Epps says with a grin.

I laugh at that.

"You know, I'd picture what you may look like as one of them...this isn't it." He replies.

"Is that a good or a bad thing?" I ask.

"A good thing. Definitely. What's cool is that you still look like you, just metalnized." He replies.

"Metalnized?" I ask while raising a brow plate.

"It was the best I could do. Bite me." He replies in good humor.

"I'm sure you would all like to chat longer, but I need to start getting Averie used to moving her new body, so everyone out." Ratchet orders.

"Aww come on Ratch. We won't get in the way." Sides begs. "We just got here."

At Ratchet unamused look Optimus quickly steps in and says, "We can all see Averie later, but for now it would be best that she starts learning how to move. Let's give her some privacy to prevent distraction."

Since Prime said it everyone reluctantly leaves the med bay, giving me a goodbye as they do. Everyone, reluctantly, piles out of the room so Ratchet can help me. He spots Jazz still standing beside my bed. "That means you too."

Jazz crosses his arms and sternly says, "I aint leavin."
Ratchet goes to retort when I interrupt. "Please can he stay? I don't want him to go."

Ratchet ponders and says, "Alright. So long as he doesn't get in the way. Now, on to the hard part. We need to get you used to your new body. I can't say how long it will take so let's get started."

He walks up a little closer and says, "Try sitting up on your own."

I focus on trying to sit up but am finding it difficult. I struggle with it until I'm able to move my arms. I try to use them to push myself up, but just end up falling back down. "I can't do it."

"This body is significantly heaver than your human one so your not used to the weight." Ratchet assures.

"But ya were able ta move ya arms an' push yaself up a bit so dats a good start." Jazz praises.

I smile at the praise and then move my arms to push myself up again. I manage to get up a little more before I have to stop. This goes on for a few more minutes with Ratchet threatening Jazz to not help me and let me do it on my own. I eventually manage to push myself into a sitting position. "I did it!" I exclaim happily.

"Good job darlin'." Jazz praises with a grin.

"Good. Now let's try to start you on standing." Ratchet states.

I have such a new found respect for infants learning to walk. I knew I was probably gonna have some trouble, but this is ridiculous. I've been at this for an hour and the only thing I've managed to do is sitting at the edge of the bed by myself. So, I can move my legs but they won't support my weight. Ratchet assures me that this is normal, but I'm not buying it. It shouldn't be taking this long to stand up and I'm getting frustrated. Jazz, bless his spark, is trying to keep me calm but it isn't doing much good anymore. "I can't do it!"

"Averie-

"No! I don't wanna hear it. I've been at this for over an hour and I still can't stand up. I should have made more progress than this." I complain.

"I told you it would take time. Your in a completely new body and its going to take some adjusting." Ratchet states.

"Ya just gotta be a little patient darlin. Dats all." Jazz adds.

"But I don't wanna be patient." I huff while crossing my arms.

"I know I didn't raise my daughter to act that way." I hear mom scold lightly as she walks into the room.

"Sorry mama." I reply sheepishly while ducking my head.

"It's alright sweetie. Actually now that I think about it you were just as fussy when you were learning to walk as a baby." She replies.

"Really?" I ask.

"Absolutly. Everytime you fell down you got this really frustrated look on your face. If you could have crossed your arms you would have. Even as a baby you weren't very patient, but you stuck with it and eventually learned. So I don't wanna see you giving up. Just stick with it and you'll eventually get it. Ya got me?" She states.

"Yes ma'am." I reply.

"Good girl. Now, get back to practicing." She says. She then gives me a smile before she leaves the room.

Jazz chuckles next to me as he says, "Your moms awesome."

"Yeah she thinks shes awesome, but she does know how to make a good point." I reply jokingly. "She always knows just what to say."

"It's a creators job to know what to say to encourage their children. Wouldn't be much of a creator otherwise." Ratchet comments.

"Do you have children Ratch?" I ask the question that's been bugging me for a while.

He and Jazz then let out a loud chuckle, leaving me very confused. "Is that a yes or a no?"

"Oh it's a yes alright." Jazz mutters through his laughing.

"Ooook." I draw out. "So how many do you have? Whats their names?"

"You already know their names." He replies.

"I do? So their here?" I ask getting excited.

"You know them quiet well actually." Ratchet says mysteriously.

"Enough with the riddles. I can't handle the suspense. Who are they? I assume you have more than one since you keep saying them. Come on, tell me." I exclaim anxiously.

Both of them smirk and then finally Ratchet answers and gives me the shock of my life. "Sideswipe and Sunstreaker."

It takes a moment of shock, and once it does I let my shock be known. "What?! Are you serious?!"

"Shocker isn't it." Jazz says while laughing at my stunned expression.

"So your their dad?" I ask still not believing the news I just heard.

"Yes I am." He replies. "Hard to believe I know."

"You don't act like it though." I comment.

"Of course I don't. I don't want those glitches thinking they'll get special treatment. " Ratchet replies. "I love those scrapbrained sons of mine and they know that."

I ponder on this for a moment before grinning and saying, "Looks like I've got new information to torture them with."

"Dat ya do, but da only way ya can is if ya walk outta here yourself." Jazz states.

I look at him and say, "That's a brib...but a good incentive. Alright, let's get to walking."

That gets a relieved smile out of both mechs.

Well there yall go. Hope you enjoyed it. SOrry it wasn't that long, but at least you know Averie is alieve! Woo Hoo! So let me know what yall think and could someone please let me know if I'm writing Jazz's accent alright? I'm not real sure if it sounds right. Thanks!
