Hi everyone. This story is practically as old as the Shrek films. At that time, however, I sent a witch from magical DoReMi to Shrek in the fairy tale forest to help Shrek out of trouble. But now, after seeing the musical about it, I thought about doing it a little differently. It's a crossover, but it also belongs to the "fairy tale genre" although it's a musical. I won't reveal any more, let's see who of you will recognize what will become part of the story here :)

Once upon a time there was a swamp where an ogre lived. After marrying a cursed princess, raising a family and traveling into an alternate reality, Shrek thought it couldn't be more peaceful. Sure, the triplets kept them busy, which is why they decided when they were 3 10 years old to send them to Fairytale Camp for a summer. Together with the Dronkeys and other offspring of well-known fairy tale characters. While Shrek was enjoying the calm, Fiona seemed totally restless. She felt out of place because she suddenly had so much time and didn't know what to do with it.

The ogre couple thought of nothing bad when they were startled by a huge boom.

"What was that?" Asked Fiona.

"Stay here, I'll have a look." Shrek said and went to the door. He opened it and looked out. A huge cloud of dust clouded his view first. It took a while before the dust cloud had cleared before he saw the mess. Something had collapsed his toilet.

"That can't be true!" He swore and stepped towards the heap of rubble that had once been his toilet block. He sighed and began to pick up the debris until he found a head underneath. Someone was lying under the rubble. Shrek growled when he saw who was responsible for the collapse. A little witch in a green dress and with red and white striped stockings. Then Fiona came to his side.

"Oh poor one!", She exclaimed, "she must have crashed."

Fiona fished a broken broom out of the rubble.

"What shall we do about her?"

"We ... don't do anything. Let's leave her until she wakes up and then I'll make sure that she leaves.", Shrek said angrily.

"We can't do that, she's injured," said Fiona.

"Fiona. We're on vacation and we should enjoy it."

"Shrek ..." Fiona said urgently.

Shrek rolled his eyes. He knew Fiona wouldn't let that put her off. So he got the little 15 year old witch with the dark brown hair out of the rubble and carried her into the house.

There she was first washed and treated. The little witch was passed out and didn't notice any of this. After over an hour, however, the little witch woke up.

"Fiona, walk away a bit, otherwise she might be frightened and bewitch us.", Shrek said.

The little witch slowly opened her eyes. She needed something to orient herself.

"Uff ... where am I ..." she gasped as she raised her injured arm to her forehead. She had a very heavy headache.

"Don't worry, you are safe," said Fiona.

The witch only vaguely recognized the two huge shapes in the shadow a few meters away from her.

"What happened?" Asked the little witch.

"You probably crashed your broom," said Fiona.

"Oh yes ... right." Said the little witch.

"What's your name?" Fiona asked her.

"Esmara," answered the witch.

Fiona slowly moved closer so that Esmara could finally see her. Shrek wanted to stop Fiona, but Fiona had a mind of her own.

"I'm Fiona and this is my husband Shrek.", Fiona introduced her.

"Ogres? Why did you help me?" Esmara asked confused.

"You're hurt," said Fiona.

"But ... ogres aren't ...", Esmara began when Shrek stepped out of the shadows.

"What? Not helpful? You can be glad that Fiona has such a good heart, otherwise you would be lying outside next to the house.", Shrek said.

Esmara winced, startled.

"Shrek!", Fiona admonished him, then turned back to Esmara: "You shouldn't believe everything that is said about ogres."

Esmara made to get up, even though her whole body ached.

"You should lie down, your injuries are not taken easy," said Shrek.

"You don't understand ... if I stay you are in danger," said Esmara.

"What do you mean?" Asked Fiona.

Esmara sighed deeply: "If my aunt finds me here, she will punish you."

"If she finds you," Shrek replied.

The little witch stared confusedly at the green ogre in front of her with her big blue eyes.

"What do you mean?" She asked.

"You're a witch, aren't you? Can't you transform yourself?" Shrek asked her.

"Unfortunately it's not that easy ... First of all, as a witch, I'm still in training ..."

Shrek laughed out loud: "How long have witches been training ??? I thought they could do magic from birth.

"We can too. Just ... we have to learn to use them and so our magical powers grow stronger over time. And unfortunately it's like this ... as a witch I can only curse others. I cannot curse myself for myself to transform. "

Shrek looked thoughtfully at Esmara: "I painted the bedroom a week ago. Coincidentally in a similar green to our skin color ..."

"You're not planning to ..." began Fiona.

"Yes. We pass her off as a relative of mine. A niece," said Shrek.

"You want to do that? Really?" Esmara began, touched.

"Now don't look at me like that! I may be an ogre, but I have a soft core. Whatever you are on the run, there will be a reason," said Shrek.

"How do you know ...?" Fiona began, confused.

"She crashed into the toilet at full speed. Her broom broke. That hardly happens when you go on a leisurely outing," said Shrek.

Esmara slid to the edge of the bed and sat up. Red, glittering shoes came to light on her feet.

"These shoes are the reason for my escape," she explained.

"Are those magic shoes?" Asked Fiona.

"Yes. They are very powerful. They can even take you to other worlds if you know the spell. My aunt Elphie created them once. She guarded them very well. But then ... I learned about my aunt wants to conquer the fairy tale world with these shoes. My aunt has always been very wicked and quick-tempered. I don't know why, but she seems to harbor an enormous hatred of people. She wants to exterminate the people here. She always talked about that she wants to help the suppressed, speaking animals and mythical creatures. "

"Do you think your aunt knows you have the shoes?" Asked Fiona.

"I'm sure she already knows it and is looking for me," said Esmara, her face becoming even paler than before.

"Then we hide the shoes," said Fiona.

Esmara took off her shoes and confidently handed them to Fiona. Although they didn't even know each other, Esmara had the feeling that she could trust the ogres, even though so many terrible things were said about them. Fiona put the shoes in a wooden box, which Shrek then buried behind their house. While Shrek was there, Fiona set about giving Esmara the "ogre paint". Esmara stripped down to her underwear and then Fiona painted her the green paint. Her whole body turned green, except for her brown hair. After the paint was dry, Esmara got dressed again and when she looked at herself in the mirror she said, "Now I look like Aunt Elphie."

"What do you mean?" Asked Fiona.

"Well, Aunt Elphie also has green skin. But nobody knows why. Her parents were normal people. My mom told me that."

"If you still hide your ears somehow, you can no longer be distinguished from an ogre.", Fiona said.

Esmara had ordinary human ears. Ogres tend to have funnel-shaped ears. This could easily reveal Esmara. But Esmara was clever, she tied her hair so that it covered her ears.

"Perfect." Shrek said when he walked in.

Esmara smiled at him: "Thank you for doing this for me."

"Nothing to thank. I just hope that we will soon find a way to protect you better. This is just a stopgap," said Shrek.

"Exactly, we cannot allow your aunt to conquer the fairy tale world.", Fiona said, "Sure, everything is not going perfectly here ... But ... where does it go?"

The three were interrupted when someone burst into the house, babbling loudly. A small, gray donkey: "Naaa? Are you enjoying your vacation, lovebirds? I wish I could take a vacation too ... but my wife wants to remodel our home. It's horrorble ... She can never decide where what to push ... I just ran away now, I was fed up with their bossing around and ... oh ... who is that? ", asked the donkey, looking at Esmara.

"Donkey ... you never learn to knock either, do you?" Shrek scolded.

"Hello donkey. This is Esmara. Shrek's niece," said Fiona.

"What? Since when do you have a niece?" Asked Donkey.

"For 15 years ..." Esmara said grumpily with her arms crossed.

"Oha. I see ... you are clearly related," said Donkey.

Esmara and Shrek looked at each other and then started laughing. Esmara seemed to be slowly settling into her role and from the moment she saw the donkey she knew that he was one of the animals that her aunt wanted to free from "oppression".
